I don’t know why people would still buy them off the tp when you’ll be able to do the mastery instead…. saving a ton of gold. Investing time in that would be preferable over gold grinding… maybe that’s just me.

Unless that time you’re spending doing the collections is more than it would have been to just farm the gold.

If it’s more entertaining that running laps around SW, I’ll take it.

You obviously have no idea at all, for a 10-man raid you must bring Skritts only, because they scale up exponentionally when put in packs and are also best qualified for ninja-looting.

Why should we do that?

You can’t be stubborn and demand flexibility. If you have 11 people, divide into a group of 5 and 6 and use lfg. That’s being flexible.

The gear stays the same, they don’t give advantages in WvW or PvP. The answer to your question is no. The old content will work the same. The perks the mastery system will give players will be minimal at best. QoL for the most part.

He’s part of the main story, why would they do that? Especially considering the player base they know they have.

Because they locked the final mission of the personal story behind a dungeon for almost 3 years? His concern is legit, even if it doesn’t happen.

I agree. If 2 or 3 people don’t like the way it’s going, then they can leave and the rest of the group can LFG tool replacements.

Yes, variety. I like longer content. It’s why I don’t like dungeons, because most like to skip through it all to get to the end… and the way it’s designed, it allows you to do that. I can’t blame them because people have done these paths so many times already. Here is to hoping Raids are designed to make you enage each step without skips.

If it’s any consolation, Fractals are going to be a lot more friendly to those who don’t have a lot of time to play.

He’s right. Scepter is ok in PvE, but its garbagetown in PvP. I cringe every time I see a scepter guard on my team. Staff is a loot tag/support weapon. The LB has its flaws… I’m not to fond of it either right now… but I’ll reserve judgement until the final release.

Anet: Ok guys/gals we are going to put Engi and Druid into the beta weekend but be forewarned they have not been finished and are still completely unplayable.

Players: Both Engi and Druid need a lot of work they seem to be unplayable.

Anet: As we stated both classes are unfinished and unplayable, but you all wanted fair equal test time.

Players: I don’t get it why would you put unplayable, unfinished classes in for testing, it makes no sense, what are we suppose to test ?

Anet: Ok next Beta weekend Engi’s and Druids will be removed from testing so we can finish working on them and make them playable so testing is more accurate.

Players: WHAT ! This is BS now they don’t get as much test time, it’s unfair, I want to play Engi or Druid.

Anet: ……..

This pretty much sums it up right here…. They could just let us a try a completely busted/unfinished spec, or a massively watered down one similar to the first rev beta… and everyone that mains these two classes will throw a fit about how it “sucks”.

So first off, the best spec of the BWE1 saw more updates then Ele and Guardian combined, second would be the Necro which sat at about the same place as Guardian. So your telling me they had more then ample amounts of time to work on one of the middle and the best spec but can’t shift some of that time to what was the worst of the weekend and the one that needed the most improvements?

While yes you are right on one point, we want to see a viable fun spec by launch, but when the devs seem to just gloss over your feedback and do something so minimal that really doesn’t fix any of the issues it makes you question why the other classes are getting so much that actually makes a difference. This is the problem, and without me being a multi-class player and as well enjoying the Revnant, I would probably not even be logging in during the next BWE with the lack-luster changes they provided, I know I have no reason to try out the Ele “changes” next weekend.

EDIT: My bad it was the Necro that had the big list of changes not the Mesmer. Still the Mesmer saw on par with the Guardian, which in its own right could have been time spent on working on the Elementalist.

Using that logic, reaper deserved the most love because base necro is the most looked down upon class in PvE content. You can even argue that reaper is going to improve the class greatly. Base ele is amazing as it is… it’s certainly considered top tier… what you are feeling right now is how necromancer mains have felt for almost 3 years now.

Looks like a bunch of great buffs to me… the virtues aren’t going to be instance casts. DH isn’t going to play the same as base guard…. Its only BWE1 changes… LB may still see improvement. I’m not digging LB, but I do like these changes to traps.

It seems an update reactivated an old bug…. hopefully we get a response soon. Unlike the removed human female idle animations… this really does destroy muh immersion.

I’ve seen complaints about abusive people… in fact it kept me away from PvP for the first year I owned the game… that being said, I’ve never received an angry whisper, or any type of abuse in 1400 hours of playing this game… Map chat sarcasm and chat trolling may be a thing… and it is all in understandably good fun. But I’ve never been personally attacked.

Considering you’re mastery progress doesn’t change between all characters… No, tomes should have zero effect on mastery. When you level to 80 it is only for that character… when you unlock a mastery it is for all characters.

Its been that way for about 3 weeks. It even affected the HoT story demo. Laranthir’s first speech bubble popped with no audio. It is really annoying. Apparently it was an old bug that was fixed, but something within the last 2-3 updates brought it back.

Because people view quantity as quality. I hate Lornar’s Pass. Number of maps means nothing to me, the amount of fun things to do in them does. 1 map with 100 interesting activities is better than 100 maps with 1 interesting activity in each.

This started up about 2-3 patches ago. It always seems to be the first line the NPC speaks in cut scenes. I can confirm this for most Human and Norn story steps. This also occurred in the HoT story demo when Laranthir speaks…. the first speach bubble appears with no audible dialog and then she can be heard upon her second speech bubble. It’s pretty aggravating, especially when you’ve talk your friend up into buying the game and playing the story with them is embarrassing with all the bugs.

4) How about giving Elementalist a chance to deal chill damage? Can add that in one of the Tempest grandmaster spec.

I disagree, the salty necros are already angry at us for getting “better” shouts than them. Also deathly chill on reaper is really underwhelming right now with its really poor scaling.

Ahem… you can have chill… we actually want it traded out for more damage. :p

Looking at the OP’s post history, he plays Burn Guardian in PvP. He probably got beat a few times by a chronomancer and now he is scared he won’t be able to dominate as much. :p Chronomancer is fine. I PvP Burn Guard myself so I don’t have the same bias. I just recently got into Mesmer in PvE, and started enjoying the Play style in PvP. My Guard is my favorite by far, but when Mesmer Winner is the daily I do enjoy going a few rounds with it.

I fought the Wyvern today… the boss itself was weak sauce… but the event chain leading up to it was a lot of fun. Thankfully people listened and didn’t bug out the “fill the baskets” event that starts it off.

Excuse me if this as already been covered since the topics got merged, but does anyone have tips for Vet Smokescales? They seem to be insanely OP. They are hard to disengage, they dodge your attacks and lay down massive damage. I can hang with my mesmer, but my other characters get melted down so fast, and when I run away they just shadow step to me and finish me off.

Dunno, i think is not bad move for several reasons

1) We’ll have a legendary Backpack to do
2) They totally reworked the legendary system with a precursor journey for every legendary
3) Many of the actual legendaries are really good so not really need to introduce an entire new set immediatly.

So if you don’t like the new three legendaries you can wait and in the meantime focusing on backpack or other old legendaries.

This! Did anyone actually buy this expansion purely for shiny, expensive weapons that aren’t statistically better than their ascended counterpart outside of stat changing? Legendaries aren’t made fast unless you have an ungodly amount of gold. Three is pretty time consuming. I thought I read that more will be added as time goes on. Keep in mind that a large portion of players don’t have a single legendary because of the precursor issue. The fact that we will now be able to obtain them without having to grind gold to give to another player makes the old legendary weapons pretty new to this crowd. It may still be a grind, but at least that grind only benefits yourself.

You can complain about a lack of content which there is no evidence for or against currently… but would you buy HoT if it has 12 new legendary weapons, and no new maps? Sounds pretty silly to me. I rather have more playable content and than new weapon skins. You can’t tell me you can make all of these weapons within a week of release… if you can, you are in a small minority of players.

Saying they are easy is simply not true for all classes. Mesmer’s should have no issue with them. Pop feedback on them when they do their rapid fire, and they die instantly. That in itself should tell you how OP their attack is. They can destroy Necromancers, becasue they don’t have reflects or ageis of any kind. Its easy to say “just dodge” but when you are fighting a mob, saving your dodges for one sniper is unrealistic. Especially when those guys with the hammers lay down their huge AoE attack.

My point is even more fundamental. Why should I have to PvE get PvP rewards? PvP players can even get legendaries without ever stepping into a PvP arena.

This. You’re getting Dungeon rewards without playing the most difficult part of the dungeon… you’re only required to beat the easiest part of it to get the reward track. Seems pretty fair to me.

As far as i know “guesting servers” is a useless action ever since the megaservers came to be. I have experienced this bug as well parking a character at that location.

sigh A topic that doesn’t even have a second page is enough to remove something obviously wanted back by this massive topic? I don’t understand how this has been ignored. I have 5 human female characters, 1 male asuran, 1 female norn, and a female sylvari. I really miss these animations… the Female Sylvari carelessly swinging her dangling arms around with a grin on her face doesn’t ruin muh immersion? That is only one example of the main other race animations that wouldn’t fit the situation. Please bring these back… Personal Story and Living World are only a small fraction of this game’s playable content.

I use to think I’d never play PvP…. but doing 1-3 unranked matches a day isn’t so bad. You can get your dailies done really fast this way. I have and on and off obsession with this game. When I’m not playing it feverishly, I at least log in and do my dailies and use my home instance nodes, and Star of Gratitude/Mawdrey II/Princess. If anything else. don’t pass on your daily login rewards which takes a few seconds to collect.
