Burning is so broken right now. I can down five people at once in PvP with my Guardian. I expect this to get nerfed in the futue. Condi has it’s uses in PvP and WvW… but PvE will always be zerk until HoT proves otherwise.

This… it is not ele. I main guard and I swapped to torch while using purging flames and judge’s intervention. I can down people 3v1…. being a complete n00b to PvP, I’m sure that isn’t normal… but I’ll keep doing it as long as mesmers can stack a ridiculous amount of conditions on someone. Burning is pretty OP right now.

And yet that is how the game is these days. I got totally burned investing on last wintersday watching everything plummet into worthlessness. If you look at the electro dyes, whoever bought them all wasted a ton in listing prices because the demand is insanely low. Joke is on them for all the gold they lost.

Valid points by Zalladi and Pockets… but they could at least do Daily AC dungeon path, or daily “insert dungeon” path. It’s not like it would be like a Daily Triple Trouble. lol

As far as I know, some nodes stay the same, and some nodes are random. Rich nodes are generally always the same. For instance the Gallowfield’s Waypoint in Brisband Wildlands is always rich with iron nodes, and the Rich Iron Vein is always in the same place. But I have been in map instances before where I chose to volunteer for a more populated map, and the nodes I was going to farm were completely gone when I swapped instances before hitting them.

+1200 hours here. Got Storm from my Star of Gratitude. First pre ever. I wanted just one drop for the principle of it. I also know a person that got zap from one of the random world chests that you can find those map scraps from. I guess you can get precursors from the most unlikely locations. I always figured I’d get one from a world boss, champ bag, or forge if I was ever lucky enough.

LOL. I didn’t even know there was suppose to be overtime. I’ve just been playing war of attrition to get the bigger score. Overtime sounds more exciting.

Both sides have a point, the flaw with “bid your personal max” is 99.99% don’t. Chances are his personal max is just going to get buried by 10 other bids that increase by 1 copper per bid. I would support an ebay-like system where you can place a max bid where people bidding lower would automatically get outbid by you until your max bid was surpassed. I like the OP’s suggestion as well.

As someone that just dropped 390g on Southsun Kasmeer. I wouldn’t be mad if they brought all of those back as KQ drops.

I haven’t even paid much attention to this. It doesn’t affect me personally because of how I play, but it will help low level characters do their PvE dalies instead of a zerg of level 80s burning down all the events in seconds. IMO the better way to fix it would have been to make “Shiverpeaks Event Completer, Maguuma Event Completer” etc.

Because of HoT I’m fully content on waiting rather than giving someone my gold and letting them profit off me. I’ve crafted plenty of Ascended weapons in the meantime.

I don’t often see people getting kicked for playing necro unless someone’s asking for a specific class. For example if Im doing a fractal above 29 and we need a thief and i ask for one and a necro joins…immediate kick.

That being said even though you can call people who kick necros elitists, or try hards the fact is that necros are a really bad class in pve. They bring some things to the table ofc, condi clears jesus pull for rez, etc. But in general there is always a better class to bring. It wouldn’t be so bad if they did a lot of damage, and condi does seem to do more nowadays, but if you look at latest dps charts they are a couple thousand dps worse than a lot of classes.

Ask anet to fix the class, dont ask players who are doing stale content to put up with it. :/

The problem with bumping up necro DPS would be that it would be super OP. No class can compare to the sustainability of necromancer. Even if you cut the HP in half, shroud still gives you that extra cushion.

Even if you were level 80 with WC it would still pose problems because your PS history is stored in your hero panel. More problems could persist if your character had armor that could only be worn by the race you currently were. It could cause bugs for unlocking skins or become an exploit to gain mutiple skin unlocks rapidly. Having to code for all that would be a serious undertaking for something relatively minor.

Just want to say I am on the verge of quitting the game, because it is so broken with dps and bugs. I understand that you want to get HoT out, but you should have made these changes a year ago. Its naive to think you can make so many large changes this close to an xpack release and it go smooth.

Right now dps is sky high, even with a full healing build trying to keep team mates up, its useless. Engi shares 1k to group big deal the entire group is getting hit for 4k per tick burning and thats just one condi.

Its time to fix things, or start losing customers, just letting you know how I feel about the game. I’m not freaking out because the game is not my life, but I would think you would want to hear from customers, so here it is.

This game is supported by casuals imo and when you break it this bad you only have a short time before people walk. Casuals dont hang around forever like hard cores, thats why they are called casuals.

Good luck I hate to see this game die off, but right now, its just not fun.

Not really defending what is happening in the game right now, but they already have your money. By quitting, they don’t lose a customer. The game is supported by everyone’s initial purchase. Yes the gem store supports it financially after that, but going off your argument, I don’t think the casual player spends money on the game every week.

That being said, it will get fixed. Its probably not something that can be fixed quickly which explains why Symbolic Avenger was just flat out disabled today.

If crafting ascended is not hard. I use to think that but, there are pently of step by step YouTube videos on how to get to 500 in the most cost effective way. It just takes a long time because of time gating.

Exotics should not be buffed to ascended levels. That’s absurd. There would be no point to crafting if you could do a world boss train for a few days and get everything you need. Plus, you should consider the fact that the market could shift and make exotics a lot more expensive to where everyone would start crying about market manipulation.

Try crafting ascended instead of wishing that everyone elses gear was made worthless for common drops. If anytbing, ascended should get a buff.

Wait til HoT and earn it. Don’t waste your gold on the TP.

Trying to new class is refreshing and can be a lot of fun. It can also make you miss your older characters making them interesting to you again. I have 2000 hours on Guardian, and another 400 or so between my Necro and Ranger. These are my favorite 3 classes to play. I’m trying to learn Ele, and I have a Thief who I could never really get into. Thief was my second character I ever rolled, and it just wasn’t for me. If you don’t like the class you rolled, move on to another one. Utilize all your character slots. If anything you’ll have enough characters to master all the crafts.

I think it mostly has to do with the fact that there are various types of armor that have a different number of dye slots. Some have just 1 while others have up to 4. Instead of the game guessing how you want your dye placement when you’re new armor has more or less slots than the previous one, it just resets.

If it has been bugged for 7 months, It still enters combat. I don’t know how often its the case, but I did battle it 3-4 months ago.

Yeah the fact that it kept the dye was a bug. You always have to dye new pieces of armor.

This. Honestly, I’m a lazy gamer when it comes to stuff like this, and there are plenty of youtube video guides that can get you from 1-400 in under an hour in the most optimal way possible. If I can craft ascended weapons, then anyone can. lol

Why would anyone craft if you could just get everything in one day without effort by doing a boss train? That in itself would be boring before theoretically plowing through all the HoT content with my beastly ascended gear.

Also a straight guy, I played with GI Joes growing up so when I play with virtual dolls (which is basically what MMO characters are) I gravitate toward the more masculine “toys”.

Otherwise I’m really just dressing up a Barbie doll and trying to justify it by saying that Barbie dolls are sexier.

I’d rather play with my GI Joe and use the Internet for my other……..needs.

I don’t think that the toys you chose to play with as a child are relevant. When I played with GI Joe I thought girls where icky, now I don’t. <shrug>.

I see that people play games in two different ways. For some people, they project themselves into their avatar. And therefore would only choose characters that fit into their self-image.

For other people, the avatar is more of a puppet that gets moved. These people don’t project themselves into the avatar, and therefore may choose an avatar for entirely different reasons (aesthetic appeal for example).

IMO either is perfectly logical and fine. It’s just that some people can’t accept someone else having a different viewpoint.

This. Questioning someone’s choice to play as a character of the opposite sex seems to be an issue of insecurity. I enjoy plenty if dudebro games like COD, Titanfall, and Destiny. This isn’t one of those games for me, and I enjoy it in an entirely different way than running around with a virtual gun in my hand.

The ranger is not invulnerable. Not a pvp player, but I’ve died plenty of times during lick wounds.

Ranger’s longbow 2 git buffed so the cast time came from 4ish seconds to 2ish seconds. Maybe thats what you’re looking for.
And also, ele kills stuff faster than ranger with more AoE, and necros dont even come close, not sure why you would say necros have high damage o.0

My necro can trash mobs in seconds with d/d and wells. People can say what they want about necro dps, it’s always seemed to be pretty good IMO.

If you’re on Borlis Pass, that is your problem. That server’s WvW/EoTM base is nonexistent/ Whatever color they happen to be that week, the team suffers because Borlis contributes next to nothing to its population. My suggestion is to either change servers, or try to jump in right when a new match starts.

Legendary weapons do not have the best weapon stats in the game, they are no better than Ascended weapons. They just look more shiny and have the ability to change stats at anytime rather than the permanent choice you make for what kind of ascended gear you make. (zerk, condi, celestial, etc)

Secondly, there are many players… dare I say a majority of players that own a legendary weapon that don’t have a single piece of ascended armor. While there are some crafting requirements to make a legendary weapon, most of it consists of chucking stuff into the Mystic Forge. As long as you have all the materials needed, there is no time gate preventing you from making as many as you want as fast as you want (in theory).

So your theory is quite flawed.

If you want to be useful to your team, warrior is the way to go.

If you want a ton of loot bags, longbow ranger for the lulz. You can rack up bags with the least amount of risks. Point Blank Shot and Entangle should take care of anyone using gap closers if they so choose to come at you. Generally a number 2 to the face will send them running the other way though.

Juggernaut looks cool, but among legendary its def one of the least cool. It only has The Moot and The Minstrel beat IMO.

Entropy, Mjolnir, and Genesis get my vote.

Not to be cruel, but I play 8-13 hours a day at the moment, I play a mesmer (cloth based) but I make roughly 150 scraps a day. sometimes more, sometimes less, through regular play. In that same time, just off my salvages, I do get roughly a stack of leather bits and 200+ mithril. Never bothered to count wood. If I want to get 300 silk, I need to spend 8 hours farming -specific- mobs, alternating two places when I get bored. I gave this up because I play to experience the illustrious feeling of “fun” which farming flame legion and zombies for 8 hours is -not-.

This is not a situation that can be viewed through one person’s playstyle or their luck, but rather demands a vision through the over all picture. The Truth is that silk is 7S35 per bolt as of writing this, whereas Mithril is 1S, Elder Planks 1S25 and cured thick leather squares an appallingly low 30C. All on Buyout, not order.

This simply means that supply/demand ratios for these materials are not equally distributed, or you’d see more of a 2-3 silver difference between these materials, not 6. High end difference for the things that can be farmed of course, since they’ll never be as expensive.

Mithril is the most abundant material in the entire game, and the most usless might I add. That is why is it so cheap (41c last I checked). There are more mithril nodes in the world of GW2 than anything else. Mithril doesn’t make much of anything uselful outside of getting to 400 in a craft. Iron ore is pretty abundant as well, but it goes for a little bit more on the TP because its useful in making ascended weapons. Price is determined on what these materials make, not just their availability. This is also why gossamer is cheaper than silk. 150 scraps a day is pretty good IMO. You’re doing better than me.

Again, let me go back to the example of Ectoplasm. I’ve been playing for a year now. My magic find is in the 150% range. Even with a basic salvage kit you can pull ectos from rares. it may take a few days to get to 100, but ecto isn’t rare by any means. Hit a few world bosses a day and you’re guaranteed a nice little batch… It goes for 33 silver on the TP… that is ridiculous for something that can be gains so easily. It is the price of convenience.

It’s an MMO, if you play casually, you’re gonna get casual stuff. Its as simple as that. Is it really that cruel? If everyone was running around with legendary weapons and ascended armor i’d imagine the game’s appeal would have died down a lot more quickly.

You’re right, it can’t be viewed through a single play style. I was accused of being “grindy” and that is simply not the case. If someone only puts 2-3 hours a day into GW2, then they aren’t going to get a lot of silk, much less have enough funds to buy enough. That’s just the reality of things no matter what successful MMO you play.

I am against class change. I have 5 characters. 4 are level 80, and only 1 has world completion. To do the majority of activities in the game you do not need world completion. for PvE you just need to uncover the WP to world bosses and dungeons. Everything else is pretty much open for alternate characters. The only thing that will hamper you is doing guild missions, but that doesn’t really require class specifics as long as one of your characters has all of the PvE world unlocked…. which really isnt required so long as you have all the guild rush/missions areas uncovered.

It is absurd that this was ever removed. Maybe there should be an option to turn off/on idle animations to appease the minority of players that think it breaks immersion instead of trying to code it to not display during cut scenes? As much as I miss this animation, I’m to the point where I’d take a new one. Its pretty crumby that only the human female’s have 1 animation while all the others have more.

I’ve never experienced issues with Vistas outside of being “in combat” bugged. If you’ve engaged and enemy shortly before making to the Vista it’s a possibility. Try logging out and back in to the game. Even if the game thinks you’re in combat it will still give you the option to view the Vista but will not let you view it.

I’ve experienced this with my ranger, but no other characters. Does your rifle skill do more damage the further the distance like ranger long bow 1? I wonder of its related.

If you are going to get HoT don’t bother with the Forge or buying it. Both are a waste of gold. Wait to see what the precursor collection consists of and if it’s something you don’t want to do then have at it. I lost all interest in the rng part of precursors and I’ll be doing the collections.

You gonna ask people to ping gear in open world? Good luck finding a party. Lol I don’t care what gear I was running, I’d gladly leave.

Zerk may not be for everyone, but plenty of people can run it without getting downed in open world. I’d rather pick someone up off the ground than party with someone that sticks their nose up another’s play style. That stuff can stay with the speed dungeon elitist community.

Don’t let the negative talk a about necros keep you from choosing it. I have a alt necro and it’s one of my favorite classes. If you don’t plan on focusing on speed run dungeons, necro is a blast. Mine is full zerk d/d a/f. People can rag on them all they want but I find myself reviving a ton of the more popular classes during world bosses and especially in SW. Does it have the best dps? Maybe not, but it has the highest sustainability than any other class wearing zerk gear. Death Shroud and a massive HP pool make necro pretty tanky. I have a meta guardian I use for dungeons and other pug events were people can tend to be elitists. When I want to just chill and have fun I use my necro. Since it is considered a selfish class I spec mine out for max selfishness. Might as well eh?

The problem is afkers standing at South expecting it to win and they can stand on the ledges and get all the rewards. Troll has been failing a lot lately.

If you play a lot, the best way to get them for free is map completion hands down. Especially if you’ve power leveled 3-4 alts to level 80, go clear mid-low level areas where you can complete hearts very fast. You’re bound to get a few keys fairly quickly.
