Gems are always available for purchase.
Plus the armor disappeared back in June, and you just noticed now?

Don’t know how PvP tracks interact with the Beta. Beta has it’s own clone of your bank including your wardrobe and achievements. Any thing rewarded and stored by a Beta character will not appear in the non-Beta bank.
RIP City of Heroes
Cool, good to know.

Ctrl shows reds and yellows, Alt shows allies and now you.
RIP City of Heroes
Didn’t disagree with you. Just stated my opinion why they had multiples of a single color.
It’s the reason I have, gasp … a green key, in my bank.

If you bought deluxe or ultimate, you should have gotten one right away.
If you are a vet, owned an account since before Jan x, 2015 you will get a vet slot no matter which version you bought. But these slots are added to new HoT accounts in batches every few days or once a week.
Any case you should have your beta slots.
If you bought GW2 after Jan X, 2015 from ANet and then bought HoT, from ANet, you will only get a rebate on GW2.
RIP City of Heroes
Don’t think you can.

The comparison to real life doesn’t work because real life doesn’t have a block feature to render another person effectively non-existent to you.
Except on Black Mirror.
RIP City of Heroes
Nice. Not official (I think) but nice community created site.

So during the last event with the Mordrem attacking Kessex Hills and the like, I once more have a few of the Mysterious Green Keys. I’ve checked the wiki and the like, but I cannot find an answer of whether or not the other parts of the key are still obtainable in some fashion or not? Does anyone know for sure if they other key fragments are still obtainable, or was this just an unlucky drop during the event?
You could have gotten the other colors during the event (via the bloom vendor, who sold an item allowing you to choose a color). As far as I know, there aren’t any current sources.

I’m guessing he got multiples out of the Scarlet Boxes because I doubt he bought multiples of the same key while the other two were available.

The problem is since we level to 80 so darn quick most of the items on the drop tables become worthless to use on your character and are only of use as salvage, forge fodder and occasionally something you can sell on the TP. And once players get their ascended gear, even exotics become “trash” drops.
How do you reward someone who has everything they need? Short of handing out precursors like candy on Halloween?
RIP City of Heroes
For the most part servers in this game aren’t brought down for maintenance or version rollout so there wasn’t a need for the traditional server status info page.
That doesn’t mean the data centers the servers are housed in can’t have issues due to DDOS attacks, etc. And then there’s the rest of the internet handling the packets from your ISP to the datacenter. Those things are normally out of the hands of ArenaNet.
Closest thing we have is the twitter page but oft times they only use that for social media marketing so it needs to be a big issue before they would tweet about it and ruin the ra-ra positive spin nature of their Facebook and Twitter feeds. It would be nice if server ops had their own twitter feed.

To put all together:
- Only first time introduced new skins are one ticket
- They stay one ticket until a new set is released and then they are increased to 2 or 3 tickets
- Since these skins are not new but old ones returning, they cost 2 or 3 or 5 or 7 (7= fused weapons) tickets. Depending on how many weapons are part of the set and at when/how they have been introduced first
- Black lion collections return between 5 and 7 blc tickets for full sets
- The Bloody Prince’s Toybox Collection returns 5 tickets
- Basically if Halloween collection would cost 1 ticket/weapon, you only would have to buy one ticket to get all 6 weapons
- That would undervalue halloween weapons massively on the TP in comparison to all other blc weapons
Actually the 6th skin is a 0 ticket skin that unlocks the collection.

I patched up the game at my parent’s house on Wednesday night. They have a 75Mb/s service and it still took quite a bit of time with large portions being updated at only 1/10th it’s maximum bandwidth. That’s probably due to the size of the files being downloaded and overhead of the updater. Larger files near the end of the download did come down at 4MB/s.
Edit: I should note that previous patches were much faster than the one this Tuesday. It was the first one I’ve seen that came down at a rate far below the rated speed at my parent’s house.

To expand on kankanKk’s comment.
The Bloody Prince’s Toybox Collection returns 5 tickets once you get the 5 skins for the collection making your net cost 0 tickets if the skins were 1 ticket each.
TANSTAAFL in this game.

Reminds me of a player on City of Heroes who would recount his young daughter’s play sessions. They constructed a mission, the game allowed players to design instanced “missions” other could play, which his daughter’s main Sister Flame appeared as an NPC helper. Fantastic mission featuring Disco Trolls, but everyone who ran it took a screenshot of them with the daughter’s character and posted them in a thread for her. Devs loved it too and sent her a bunch of game swag. Turned all of it into a show and tell for her elementary school class.
When the game closed her younger brother and sister were also playing and she was like 12 at that point.
Edit: Seems like the story of Sister Flame pops up in other NCSOFT game forums. A copy of her father’s original post is in a thread on the Wildstar forum last year.

It’s a nice feature, and an important one.
But lets make no mistake, the block feature is not the end all be all solution.
Much like the profanity filter is not a license to swear, the block feature is not carte blanche to be offensive as you like
“anyone who doesn’t want to hear it can just block me” to quote one particularly nasty player, spewing some of the worst hatred I’ve ever seen in a game.
He argue that the block feature gave him the right to say ANYTHING he wanted because anyone who didn’t want to hear it could just block him. Each player, when they agree to the ToS, signs a contract saying they agree to follow the rules
For anyone who refuses to follow those rules ArenaNet is fully within their right to ban them, for any duration they see fit.Your right to free speech does not apply here. That right is a legal protection from government censure, any owner of private property still has the right to tell you to leave, and owners of “private property” online (such as forums) have the right to delete any content they feel like, or declare any content they see fit as verboten.
So yes, block people when they are offensive.
But always make a point to report the incident.
Every time you turn a blind eye, you condone their actions, every time they get away with it it reinforces their belief that what they do is acceptable.ArenaNet will investigate and evaluate whether the person was truly being offensive or whether the reporter was being overly sensitive (because that does happen as well) and take action or not accordingly.
They may not take action on one iffy report, but if each time the person says horrible things someone reports them its much more likely something will be done.
Maybe getting banned will teach them being nasty isn’t okay, maybe not, but doing nothing and condoning their actions sure isn’t going to help.

Okay. By the time you get to level 80, you will have enough Hero Points from leveling alone, to unlock every skill and every trait on everyone of the 5 basic specialization. You still have to unlock them and it’s your choice which skill tracks and trait tracks to unlock in what order, but you can’t remove an unlocked skill or trait to get those points back so you could use them somewhere else.
RIP City of Heroes
No.
You can reselect what traits are being used for free as well as which specializations (old trait lines) are being used.
RIP City of Heroes
There have been a number of Points of Interest and not Guild Chat episodes that dealt with each specialization. Of course each is before they got a post-morderm (sorry Ruby) balance change after each beta.
RIP City of Heroes
They need to alow gem store mini’s to be used in the forge.
RIP City of Heroes
I did get a key on map completion the other day. I know it’s in the drop table but I haven’t gotten one from map completion since the wardrobe came out.
RIP City of Heroes
No. Not unless Transgaming added that to the wrapper that GW2 uses to run on a Mac. And since Transgaming’s Cider product was sold off to nVidia, very little news is available about what is being done for that wrapper so that’s likely no.
RIP City of Heroes
Just be aware that there are monitors that can now favor one GPU brand over the other.
G-Sync is nVidia’s hardware solution to couple the monitor refresh with a game’s actual framerate while Free-Sync is AMD’s solution. AMD’s approach is free for monitor makers to add while nVidia charges a fee which is why G-Sync is $100+ more expensive.
You can hook the other brand of GPU to the “wrong” monitor in which case it works the same as any ordinary monitor.

The problem with many CPU reviews using games is that they still run the games with all the graphic settings at 11, pretty much forcing most games to be GPU limited and therefore you can’t detect any difference in performance between different CPUs or the same one running at different speeds.
That’s why a proper test for CPUs in games is having them running with a very fast GPU with minimal graphic settings at a lower resolution, to take the GPU contribution out of the mix. But the argument goes “what does that prove, nobody is going to run a game on low at 720p on a GTX 980Ti” so an alternative is using a multi GPU setup. But I see fewer and fewer CPU reviews bother to show game tests with multiple GPUs. On the other hand “what does it prove” if you run a game so it’s always GPU bound regardless on CPU used, in a CPU review?
RIP City of Heroes
(edited by Behellagh.1468)
It’s CPU dependent from the sense of how fast a core can run a single thread. While the game uses multiple threads, the governing speed limit is how fast the main thread can execute.
On top of that the game doesn’t generate enough “work” to keep all cores fully engaged which is why it hits only 60%.
And the i7-4790K isn’t a bad CPU, it’s one of the best you can get but it does illustrate the game’s limitation that performance drops noticeably when around lots of other players, even if they are just milling about and not firing off their skills. That “housekeeping” of handling all those players on the client slows how fast the primary thread can execute the work required to prepare a frame to be rendered.

Glow is on the body setting, not the hair, thus you don’t get it in the hair kit.
RIP City of Heroes
I hardly call finishers having high-gold value as they range from 10-50g on the TP, most in the 20s. Not when the average new one ticket skin goes for 80g or so.
RIP City of Heroes
Read the patch notes.
RIP City of Heroes
Well supply started to drop 8p EDT which of course raised the price.
RIP City of Heroes
I loath those who are only willing to help others for coin. We are suppose to be aspiring heroes, not sell swords.
Doesn’t help their cause when more than a few bad apples take the money and “accidentally” kick the buyer or quit themselves. Oops.
RIP City of Heroes
(edited by Behellagh.1468)
No real change currently. I do like the cyclical daily nature of the price you see in the monthly graph.
RIP City of Heroes
Sounds about right for the tickets and scraps.
Annoyed they are still rewarding crafting bags.
And they need to allow the account locked minis/mail delivery to be tossed into the forge otherwise they are useless clutter.
RIP City of Heroes
If it’s empty (black) it’s done, if it’s full (yellow) it’s not. Not sure which CB type would hide that fact.
RIP City of Heroes
Sounds like someone missing CoH as those were all features there.
RIP City of Heroes
No, balance patch and BWE3.
RIP City of Heroes
Since it average out to be roughly 1600 gems per ticket, would you buy these skins for over 3K in gems?
RIP City of Heroes
Skin collections.
RIP City of Heroes
I was on, exited and now I can no longer connect.
Not the best patch day by far. I wonder if WildStar is using the same CDNs? They officially went F2P today.
RIP City of Heroes
Actually it’s a lot less than that. At a 1 in 3 chance 15 tries giving you 0 scraps is 0.23%. 0 tickets is expected, 73.9% of the time.
RIP City of Heroes
This is the first time I’ve seen, for me, the patch coming down in fits and starts. I’m at 60% and it’s been 1 1/2 hours.
Sure it also includes changes for BWE3 and it’s been “playable” for a while now but I’ve never tried playing it in an incomplete state. Well first time for everything.
RIP City of Heroes
Wow, such blatant trolling. Good work Behellagh.
Not trolling. Simply trying to establish a lightning rod where the inevitable complaints could go instead of the 30+ threads we normally get when a balance patch hits. Won’t catch all 30+ but it might draw in a few.
RIP City of Heroes
Why don’t we combine all three, dueling, mounts and gliding?

RIP City of Heroes
Currently it’s estimated that a scrap is 1 in 3 and a full ticket is 1 in 50.
If you start with 0 scraps, statistically it’ll average 28 chests to get one ticket, either whole or 10 or more scraps.
That said it’s also true that 30.4% of the time 28 chests aren’t enough to get even a single ticket while 5% of the time you could get 3. However due to the accumulation of scraps the overall average is a bit under 20 chests on average, using those odds for scraps and tickets.
RIP City of Heroes
Nope we’ll blame PvP because this game is balance around PvP no matter how few play it.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Leagues-1/first#post5511329
Yep, PvP is a barren wasteland with tumbleweeds.
RIP City of Heroes
Well doing them does mean you have more points available as you level which means you may be able to unlock more skills or traits earlier than if you just get the ones from leveling.
RIP City of Heroes
So, GW2 went free to play.
And NCSoft, despite owning 100% of ArenaNet, has been removing itself from GW2 and won’t publish it anymore.
And now the lead designer has left the game.
Yeah, I’m sure everything is alright. No sir, there’s clearly no sign of trouble here sir.
You’re a glass half empty kind of guy aren’t you.
RIP City of Heroes
Why? Because I believe they said the balance changes they talked about at TwitchCon drops tomorrow including the Ice Bow nerf. And we all know some players don’t like the challenge of changing their builds to accommodate a balance patch.
Wonder how those outraged are going to blame P4F account for this or are they done with P4F and moved onto “healers” in Raids or the rumored death of the Zerk Meta.
