Well, you do need SOME hardcore content, but what hardcores should understand:
youll get as much HC content as is warranted (very little) in AAA MMO
you cannot expect better/“unique” rewards, if you like HC content doing it is intrisic reward
Yeah .. but they have gotten it over long year from all those EQ-Clones and think now
think they have the right to get it or whatever because they are so much better than
the rest of the world .. just because they constantly play in groups of 24 people.
And also they never believe that they are just a minority ingame and just a vocal
majority on the forums .. and Wildstars success or fail is for me very interesting
as long as they still cater just for this type of players.

I’m playing Guild Wars 2 for two years. Two years later, Guild Wars 2 is still in the top 20 in Raptr and the top ten in Overwolf. 2 years. Evidence they’ve made a good game, because if it were a bad game, we wouldn’t be in the top 20.
After all ESO and Wildstar are much newer and they’re not. Therefore the game must at least be good. Or why would people still be playing it. It may not be to everyone’s taste. That’s another story. But the odds are if it weren’t a good game, it wouldn’t be in the top 20.
Now it could be a better game, true. So can every game.
Haha .. its so funny for me to see how Wildstar was even before GW2 in July and is
already out in August in the Raptr list.
So yeah .. we need more hardcore content to save GW2 .. Wildstar is the best proof for that
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
But if it was so easy to make an MMO, those games wouldn’t have been disappointments. Maybe the lesson here is that it’s easy to say about bad a game is but it’s not so easy to make a good game.
Oh yeah .. we must have had 1000s of great MMOs out there if it were so easy and all
of the wise people in the forums would start to make there own godly MMO ^^
Btw.: i was not interested in any of the hyped games in the last year beside EQNext
and even there i’m not sure what it will be in the end, and i don’t relly like their
character designs.
On the other hand i installed ArcheAge purely for testing out their character editor
but will never ever play it.

I have searched and searched without any luck.
So, do we have any info about the next Gem Store Armor Skins? Release date? Concept Art? Anything!?Im still a beginner and i already got the best looking armor ingame for my taste so give us more soon, really soon!
All we have so far is this :

Problem with gating in GW2 is, that they implement new gates on existing stuff
long after release, while normally in other MMOs a lot of old gating mechanisms are
removed becaue they are only seen as annoyince after a while .. for example zone access
quests in EQ2.
It seems sometimes as if the game developes back in time .. next they could make leveling slower and allow only one level per day, then exotic armor gets account bound and we can only craft one piece per day .. or such things .. lol

if you think this year was bad, obviously you weren’t here last year
living story actually had. . . story.. the only downside was we lost dragon bash
game balance.. been here 2 years and have yet to see it so you can’t really say last years was better..Personally i enjoyed last year much more. There was constantly soemthing to do and
as soon as you got bored by the last update there was already the next in sight. Now in LS2 we got 4 !! total new updates in 5 months .. and personally i’m not
interested in playing these instanced storys with hordes of mobs but no loot
and endfights that take longer than a dungeon-run, more than once.So in the end we got Dry Top farming for 5 months.
Four months, assuming you don’t count other stuff like the WvW tournament, which some people do play and collections which some people do like as well.
Nope .. i’m a pureley open world PvE player .. so for me that i just as good as no content.
Also .. have these tournaments really any new content .. or is not just the same as before ? Like we make World-Boss tournement .. and somewhere runs a counter
that shows how often Boss X was killed .. or whatever ?

I just checked out Archeage and it looks pretty good. From the youtube, it looks almost like GW
Actually it is called in the games forum often “QueueAge” and for a lot of people it is not F2P (free to play) but F2Q (free to queue) and even paying customers (patrons etc…) have to wait 1-2 hours or longer in queue after log on before they can play (or get a disconnect during waiting…).
Haha .. even if your ingame you still have to wait in more queues at Quest NPCs

MMOs will always be endless betas .. or they are more or less death because then they
will get no new content and changes.
Ad nope .. nobody can test all things that may happen in such complex programs, or we will maybe get only small patches every 10 years.

Well we did just get the PvP armours as Kaldrys said. Not the same as a gemstore set, but…
Great news .. if you don’t pvp .. nearly as exiting as having no new LS chapter because of WvW stuff .. if your not interestet in pvp.

Forcing players to spend out hundreds of gold for them AND then use Transmutation Charges to apply it to their armor just feels a bit like them wheedling that little extra money out of your hand. It’s not a nice feeling.
The good thing is however that you can sell the armor directly back to the NPC after
you bought it, and so its a little cheaper since we got the wardrobe.

interestet to buy in the last months beside the Belindas Nodachi.

Another thing from GW I wish they had kept was the Missions. They were basically Dungeons that you HAD to do to progress the story. What we have now for Dungeons is you have to do the story version to unlock the other paths but they aren’t mandatory for the MAIN story-line of the game. This also promoted teamwork and helped in making friends in-game. Not to mention most dungeons are just on farm and if you don’t have a meta-build you’ll be kicked.
If they do that they better force you in dungeons at level 1, so that i don’t even
bother to start with the story. Bad enough that i played the story to 80 to note
that i will never finish it because i simply have no interest in instanced dungeons
with overpowered mobs.

I’m going back on hiatus from GW2 and heading over to Archeage.
Haha … have fun in Wait Wars 2 then
Shouldn’t that be “Waitage”
Waitage was Lineage 2 .. i remember standing in a queue exactly that this when i did
my first class quest as an orc. Mob spawned every 15 or 20 minutes .. 30 people before
you .. that were the good old glory days .. lol

before: grind mobs, grind mobs and then grind some more mobs for every single skill of every single weapon or NO weapons skills for YOU!
That’s not how it worked for at least half a year now. There was a change sometimes ago, that made it so each new skill required less grind the higher your level – at ~15-20 you needed one-two hits to unlock any, even the last one.
Ever tried unlocking all skills for all weapons on a level 2-5 Elementalist ? You could
nearly level to 10 only with that grind i think .. and especially it was just awfull to
grind masses of mobs in water attunement.

I wish there were more collections that don’t either costs 1000s od gold or wants
to force you into dungeons / fractals.
Something just like those “shinies” in Everquest 2 and RIFT that you could found
everywhere in the open world for example.
The only one that i’ve seen so far that went in the right direction was the trash collector.

You can buy XP boosts, which will get you through the early leveling experience faster, in the cash shop.
But this is not Champions Online where Exp-Boosts also boost quest rewards. And since
the main aspect of the new fast leveling from 1-15 is the higher reward from hearts, those
little exp from killing mobs is not really that important.
And also those boosters have been around since forever, and i’m maybe not the only
one who has masses of them in the bank and never even used them.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
I wrote that already before the patch hit life that if they want us to give progress
for stats and traits only every x levels, than they should really remove 75% of the
levels and make lvl 20 max .. so we can again get stats / traits every level, and we
don’t run into this problem, since of cause mobs have also be changed to lvl 1-20.

Now getting gathering tools at a lower level is another issue….
Just buy them at the merchant near the bank in the cities.
I was under the impression (from a report on this forum) that before a certain level, you could not buy many things from the NPC vendors (including gathering tools). I have no verified the report.
No .. they really have removed the tools from vendors in low level areas. My lvl 63 thief
had to go back to Hoelbrak yesterday because the NPC at the Bear Shrine in Wayfarer
Foothils was no longer selling salvage kits.

One of the reasons I never leveled a necro in the past is because it seemed like most of the minions never attacked, especially that shade thingy which just sat around 90% of the time.
The minions had that problem also at the beginning of the game, i switched to wells
then after a while, however i always use the flesh golem, and at some point it was fixed
and worked ok .. and then last december it got again stupid as after release ..

Or, you could just craft the runes yourself. It’s a groundbreaking concept, I know.
You can’t craft traveller runes .. at least as far as i know.
The OP didn’t specify Traveller runes.
The only other rune is rune of speed .. and it has only vitality .. i use it on two chars
however a lot of people don’t care that much about vitality i think.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
Does it even matter if they despawn? they don’t actually attack anything
I’ve notice this too – minions are the GW2 equivalent of young offenders doing community service…stood around doing naff all while you’re getting it handed to you on a plate.
That problem startet with the marionette event i think, or somewhere last december.
Have myself also postet that in different thread in the bugs forum and also in other
forums .. but nobody seems to care at all so far

I do believe all GW2 Overlays require you to be running in full-screen windowed (or simply windowed) to allow the application to overlay itself properly. If you run in full-screen mode, the application will not be able to display itself on top since GW2 will be on front of everything.
Making a video with fraps however will not show those overlays .. however we had a video of that overwolf stuff ..

So what did we get from all those “more like GW1” threads ?
-The new trait system
-new TA path with special weapon reward for extra high replayabilty
- Ambrit weapons to farm zone for 10 years like Urgoz, Deep and whatever
I bet this will end like the great new trait system .. or be even more fun if they ever
will implement it.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
Question is also what is an overlay ? The old Dragontimer was clear since it ran in as
a seperated application just as window that were always on top. This however is directly
injected via DirectX into the application.
Thats also fine maybe as long as only external data is written for display, however it
looks like here also data is read back from the client since it has clickable buttons
directly in the application .. at least thats how it looks to me.

Trash Collector is the only one of that I found fun/amusing. Most of the others boils down to “how much gold or money can I throw at it to make it complete”. This one was “figure out what needs killing and where”. Sure you could also follow a guide but that have pretty good chance of ruining just about anything.
Totally agree .. i wish there were more collections on that level that don’t just want you to trash absurd masses of gold.

The real change is that it now uses a Chrome Engine instead of Internet Explorer .. don’t
know if the “bad evil” MS Browser uses less CPU.
Or maybe its also just the fact that it shows the results much fast now most of the time
and so it has more spikes on CPU load.

I noticed the button when the blog post appeared. When I actually get ingame, I’m too busy clicking through the TP to care about some text in the corner. :/
Same here .. when i read the blog i already expected a big outcry about it in the forums,
however it was really not that big as i have expected it. Now in game i really haven’t
even noticed that button at all unless i searched for it after seeing this thread ^^

Personally i think they should just make the right end of the slider to a bigger button, so that it easier to hit .. and just write “max” on it or whatever ^^
having it default to the price of the highest buy order AND default to the most you can sell is probably a bad idea. too many people would sell right there, and there would be a new lowest sell listing 1c above the new highest buy order.
Thats the problem .. took me also a while to notice that ..

Most of my characters have traveller or runes of speed meanwhile, only ranger and necro are using still the signets
Must say i’m a hardcore gatherer .. so speed is much more important to me than maybe 2% more damage ^^

What makes you think those changes have an economic reason?
I think they don’t have an economic reason, that’s sort of why I’m asking.
They certainly have no good economic reason for players to do them. The cost of crafting for Alpha Crafter for example, and the reward? Those are the most expensive 5 ectos, ever.
Alpha crafter is not really that bad, since you can sell most of those items.
I think there are only 3 green items in it, the rest is blue, just equip them once
and they are unlocked and you can still sell them.
I even sold one of the metal leggings for 40s

There are some bugs with new TP that will get fixed and we’ll definitely be discussing other changes brought up. So please continue to give constructive feedback especially valuable when you explain how you would use something instead of how to fix it. (eg: I wish I knew if i’m undercutting myself, vs match my lowest needs to be a button.)
I hope that you mentioned this means you will really bring that feature back, since that is really my biggest problem with the new TP

Very much what i expected. They really should have made max level 20 instead and make
each level take longer instead of removing the progression for players for x levels while
the mobs however get better with each level.

Yesterday i did those crafting collections, and it was really nice with my tailor that
i could directly craft the linings and casings and whatever directly from the main receipe with the new hourglass buttons .. however when i went to my armorsmith and leatherworker i only had that symbol for the insignias, but not for the other stuff.
Is that a bug only on my side (all crafter were 500, image is from somebody else), or working as intended ?

So many recent changes are made upon Chinese release of the game.
Arena Net, we are WESTERN audience. We have WESTERN expectations about the game.
You’re screwing GW2 over. Don’t you dare screw this game over. This IS personal.
In fact I think the Chinese (Asian) market is even way more tollerate to this sort of things then the western.
Here is a great example: http://my.mmosite.com/1cd10251c16a43d090e2399862b464a2/blog/item/1c8e968e01d15c1fdfee5b36fccf123e.html
Yeah .. its mostly more the USA that has problems with things like that. I remember
for example that they removed the nipples in Age of Conan for the US Version, while
we in Germany got green instead of read blood .. lol

I believe problem with that is that the AI affecting Minion behaviour is also tied to others as well (NPCs, mobs, pets ect.). So in order to fix Minion AI, they need to revamp the entire AI of the game. That is how I understand it and have read posts about it. Please correct me if this is false information.
I correct you : that is related to ranger pets .. necro pets have always been much more stupid .. and i think they would have fixed that already if all hostile mobs would behave like necro minions and just stand there doing nothing most of the time instead of attacking.

I really like it when it works, like with tailoring it worked great.
However when I went to use it for armorsmithing and leatherworking to work on my Alpha Crafting achievement, I didn’t have the Recipe/Hourglass option on most of the ingredients to all of the armor I was crafting. I don’t know if it is related to them renaming some things, but I had to constantly scroll up and down the list again like we had to do in the old system.
Notice that the boot casing and lining don’t have an option to go to their recipes?
This is like this for all the armor recipes for at least these two disciplines, possibly others.
I may make a post in the bugs forum as well if there isn’t one already.
Yeah .. i noticed the same yesterday .. Tailor was fine .. Armorsmith and Leatherworker
had only the hourglass for the insignias

I honestly don’t understand how “match my lowest listing” was removed…I’m now probably undercutting myself unless I previously check if I have X product already listed because it’s information not readily available when I’m selling items.
Yeah .. thats what i also am really missing

No, you don’t have to repeat any story steps.
