And we’re back to the beginning: “I’m right and the devs don’t know anything about their own game!”

Sure.

Seeing as how there is no endgame, never was and the game was not designed to be played that way, there is no way to “focus on the endgame.” They are focused on the GAME, which means spending some time creating new things for level 80s to do (ascended gear) and things for everyone to do (Living Story).

This is not the game you are looking for.

That explains why my post was ignored.

Geodes may not stick around, and there is very little to do with Foxfire Clusters. Like Mystic Clovers.

They said that all of Season 2 will be permanent, however, and the means to get the items from the merchants must remain somehow.

It would be weird to destroy the primary system that makes Dry Top unique from all other zones, permanently, especially as the geodes are rewarded not only in Dry Top, but in Season 2 story instances – particularly episodes 1 and 2. It would require far too much work to remove those, and removing the Zephyrites as you previously claimed would remove most events out of Dry Top. The place would become like Southsun Cove after The Lost Shores – devoid of any real activity. Geodes are also the primary reason to remain in Dry Top and replay that content, so why go elsewhere?

It feels like it’d be doing too much work, in all honesty. And for what reason? “Because the Zephyrites got up and left?” Well, there’s more sources of Geodes than just the Zephyrites, and not all Zephyrites crashed in the first place (only 3 ships of their 13+ ship fleet, though one was the flagship). More likely, that zone will become “stuck in time” like all the other zones until there’s a new update specifically for it, or a plot reason to have the Zephyrites move on, and that could take years.

Turn the item into some mundane trophy to be sold, have that norn merchant exchange the remaining Geodes for some mini/bag, whatever.

Southsun is “empty” because nothing was placed there, surely they’ll not make that mistake again (maybe there’s even future plans for Southsun Cove).

We don’t know if the Emperor is, or isn’t Xenophobic because it’s been hundreds of years. Who knows what the current Monarch thinks, perhaps all these little Canthan inspired things popping up are a sign that the current Emperor/Empress is keen on opening Cantha up to the rest of the world again.

What gave you the impression Usoku died after two-hundred years.

It’s been 200 years. Lol. Anything could of happened in that time, Cantha may be completely razed for that matter, or it could be doing perfectly well, or stayed just about the same. Who knows. It’s a perfect opportunity for ArenaNet either way even though I’m hoping it’s stayed relatively the same in some aspects. Like I don’t want it to lose it’s oriental theme or anything, and I would still love for Kaineng to be there as this gigantic sprawling Metropolis.

“Anything could’ve happened”. Usoku may be well over two-hundred years old, loyal officials claiming that through sheer patriotism he will not perish until Cantha has been stripped and healed of evil. He’ll not suffer interlopers from Tyria disrupting his fragile hold on whatever secret power sustains him.

Maybe we’ll (in-game characters) start discussing going there after Mordremoth is put down and the rest of Tyria is explored (Orr cleansing a plus?).

With the amount of content there is, I could wait another year before wondering/asking about any lv80-related developer focus. That statement doesn’t make any sense, though, since they’ve still been adding content.

Well after almost 2 years of playing this game, I’m done with all aspects of the game same as many others, so there’s that.
They’ve been adding content on occasions and yes, on occasions it was mind blowing, like the wardrobe system for example. But that doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t keep focusing on high level content. 2 years after release any mmo should be already focusing mainly on “end game” content, and only use their remaining resources for things like leveling systems- especially in a game where you’re done with leveling in a seriously short amount of time.

Wardrobe isn’t content.

You seem to be purposely ignoring pieces of arguments for the sake of combativity. I think you’re jumping back and forth between “high-level” and “end-game” content. Which do you want, that might clear up some confusion?
As someone has already pointed out, there is no end-game but everything is end-game, since it’s ludicrous to design everything before max level as “unimportant” at max level. I don’t know what to say about high-level content, there seems to be plenty of it and more to come, at least to me.

Now, give us Anise's armor.

You honestly believe that this armor isn’t available to players because they couldn’t design shoulders and a helm ?

Light armor has some of the least noticeable shoulders and headgear. Apprentice has a tiny golden thing on just one shoulder, just like the Order of Whisper. I’m not even sure what the Exalted shoulders are.
And the headgear could have been a simple stone on the middle of the forehead or feathers or really anything.

I don’t know why it’s not in the game. But “not finished” is bullkitten.

Edit : Actually I now know for sure why it’s not in the game. And why that other dress isn’t either. The skirt (and dress) is part of the torso armor, just like medium armor. So the clipping with light armor skirts would be (even more) ridiculous.

They already stated before that the way they created medium armor torso parts is one of the things that prevents them from allowing mix-match across armor classes.

Hmmm. That’s not what I typed at all.

Clipping can be solved by negating the pants, Flame Legion armor does it.

“Endgame” is a specific aspect of the game. It doesn’t exist in GW2 in the traditional sense of an MMO endgame because the point is not to get to max level and start playing the game. The entire game is equally important because there are multiple zones for each level range and you will never outlevel the zones.

This is the whole point of bringing up the fact that Anet has a lot more data about their players than you do. And by “a lot” I mean comparing a pebble to a mountain. Most of the players are casuals who drop in and out of the game, play a few hours a week or a month, and don’t necessarily value the same things you do – like endgame.

I have no further comments to make, you’re just another armchair quarterback who thinks he knows more about the game than the people who have been working on it for last eight or ten years.

I’m aware that GW2 doesn’t have the standard endgame. That’s why I explained a few posts ago that with end game I mean anything players do repeatably after reaching level 80. Don’t you think that after 2 years since release they should be focus mainly on end game content? You really think that they should still be focusing on early game which is only a short process anyway (because players level fast and their endgame starts after their reach level 80)

With the amount of content there is, I could wait another year before wondering/asking about any lv80-related developer focus. That statement doesn’t make any sense, though, since they’ve still been adding content.

What are you talking about?

Way back it was mentioned that whatever NPC wore, we could wear it too. Somewhere along the road it got switched to “nah you can’t even wear what we’ve showed you in the preview trailers”.

Then I shall direct you to a post I made earlier:

This would look not as elegant with shoulder and cap items, I don’t think. Granted, before the game released, I remember reading the wiki explaining that the player would be able to dress as NPCs, I don’t think this armor is finished.

Doesn’t quite explain some of the town clothes I’ve seen, though.

My first thought was ‘Taimi, this demonstration is going to attract Mordrem!’ Perhaps Phlunt had the same thought and thus asked for the demonstration, risking his life to cover up his play for the device? Which is beginning to remind me of Vyacheslav and his Sonic Vaporizer, so I’m not convinced an asura could be dumb enough to misuse such an item. Completely shirk safety protocols, sure, but not implement a plan where they risk dying is a step.

Your concern just seems like you’re suspicious of your own shadow. Any asura invention can be weaponized.

+1 to this. Adding any new currency to the system should be done with the thought of adding it to the wallet. So they should’ve added them in the wallet already when they introduced the geodes.

P. S. – It would also be great if Foxfire Clusters were added to the collections, after all they are a crafting component just like all the stone lumps and herbs that randomly drop while mining or gathering.

Geodes may not stick around, and there is very little to do with Foxfire Clusters. Like Mystic Clovers.

Well there IS an official Inquest Representative at the Arcane Council, and even their High Councillor seems to be somewhat aligned with them. So I wouldn’t trust Phlunt with this particular device knowing he is surrounded by them (might even be one of them).

They don’t have immediate threats to their race unlike Humans (Centaurs), Sylvari (Nightmare Court), Charr (Branded and Ghosts), Norn (Icebrood and Sons of Svanir) so I don’t mind if Mordremoth gives them something to worry about for a change. >:-(

There’s a section of Hoelbrak where Sons of Svanir stay, something to do with respecting their life choice, don’t remember. Out on the field, they’re fair game (literally).

I hear Phlunt was recommended by Zojja, he must have some merit.

Note that you didn’t say, “All bandits lit an orphanage on fire. All inquest abduct and experiment on live creatures. All bandits sell fellow humans to centaurs.”

The argument holds no water, sorry. If we’re going to be concerned about being super moral, then our characters should not be killing first and asking questions later, and apparently feeling no guilt or trauma from all the murder that they do.

That’s how the villains are cast in like every other entertainment medium ever.

Can we at least agree that we’re bullkittening ourselves when we think that we’re ever a shining beacon of morality in an MMO?

I hope we will have some kind of expansion to cantha or elona after we´ve dealt with modremoth. I´d gladly pay for a big expansion to one of those two places
I mean we might need allies to fight the dragons one day, have Trahearne be like “We´re running outta soldiers here. Go there and convince them to help us, because we all have to work together or the elder dragons will take each nation down one by one” a la Mass Effect 3. Just a thought. I mean he also said in one of the new releases that they´ve lost a lot of pact soldiers in the fight against Zhaitan, so that might be a problem later on?

We haven’t even finished Tyria, and Cantha would be another (possible) battle on our plate since their emperor is xenophobic.

You must’ve looked at a data-mine or researched the wiki after The Dragon’s Reach Part 1 came out? I didn’t know what the hell these items would make, but given the components it wasn’t gonna hurt my bank.

So Heat Stone, Grow Lamp, and Clay Pot. These are the culprits? Clay Pot is no biggie, Grow Lamp has a ten-day period if you’re starting from scratch but that’s a non-issue. Heat Stone seems like a gate, I didn’t really notice it myself because I had all the materials. I guess you could recoup your loss, buying the Lodestones, by selling two-day’s worth of Damask.

I’m having a difficult time seeing this from any other perspective; maybe because I haven’t even started growing the seed or looked at any guides. Guess I’ll come back when I finish.

I hated the capes and do not want them back. I’d rather have development resourses be spent on something useful.

Which is a fair comment. However I will take this opportunity to point out certain thinks that ANet have released that no-one asked for and I seldom see people wearing:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Plush_Quaggan_Backpack_Cover
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fuzzy_Quaggan_Hat

Now I mean no disrespect to ANet. But we have seen quite a lot of designs added for these 2 gemstore skins. So I put to you: What’s the first thing you would do, having spent time asking for Capes, if Anet then released another Charr/Quaggan backpack skin… I wouldn’t rage, but I’d be somewhat annoyed. I didn’t care for them on day 1, i still don’t care for them.

So I don’t buy them. Much like with a cape, people who don’t want them, won’t buy them. But there is Clearly a demand for them, so All i ask is next time ANet thin of adding in a new Plush Skin… please dedicate the time towards adding Capes instead.

I would be absolutely fine if they went with that angle to be honest, however, there are number of more elegant ways they could go about it. Some of which I point out earlier, like the fact that apart from Taimi not a single prodgeny, hopefully that’s how you spell it, is in any way involved in fighting with the Elder Dragons and they can’t be either because this is T rated game.

To be honest. I hope Taimi grows up quickly because I hate the way they have to shoehorn in reasons for her not to actively fight in most of the major encounters. I love her as a character, but some of the things they have to do with her are so transparent that it kinda ruins it. But, this is going off topic.

That’s a bad idea.

There’s a reason why you see people run AC far more than Arah. Arah takes experience and coordination and most pugs can’t handle it, whereas AC can be face rolled with pretty much any Pug that has any half decent players.

Your idea would just end up making AC a graveyard with the occasional dungeon seller.

Per this interview I suppose Fractal is an option. But I believe it was made clear some time ago that they are not working on dungeons anymore.

What I took away from the interview is that they let slip they may be working on new dungeons.

He mentioned Fractals and the Acheivements from season two episodes, the former allowing them to create whatever they want (Aetherpath is a “rework”, which had to be designed around something that already existed and had to be preserved (i.e. difficult work)). The latter is a neat idea to incentivize repeat runs. But they didn’t want to create something like Hard Mode, which requires rework-effort, let alone a new path for existing dungeons.

In context of the question asked him, the eight dungeons we have now will not see any major changes.

We *DO* want to know what's in development.

We DO want to know what’s in development.

No I don’t. Surprise me.

There would be no change in how surprised you are.

Only when that surprise happens.

You do not know this. What you have typed is a lie.

Now, give us Anise's armor.

I just really hope it’s a set and not a freaking outfit.

Keep dreaming.

Has some NPC’s armor been released as an Outfit?
