sees the word “expansion”
I stopped reading right there. This is a dead horse TC…stop beating it.
So far my list is:
permanent content
expansion
instanced raids
Cantha
I haven’t seen any Norns shape shifting except to maybe try it out. Even Braham knows those skills aren’t worth the skill points.
Come play with me some time.
No. I’ve already seen “save myself” Leopard form used enough in wvw. Logan should use it.
Plus Jormag ate Brahams chosen spirit.
There is no Spirit of the Giant Sloth anymore.
Raven offered me guardianship. Way to insult someone who wasn’t even talking to you.
I have been farming…
Good lord no.
An Achievement Point milestone is just the same waiting game I’m (arguably everyone) playing now. My gold builds, my Collectibles accumulate, with leisurely play I’ll be able to craft my Legendary the second I’m able to afford it’s precursor. Which might be sooner than anticipated, with time-gated Ascended crafting materials.
I’m excited for the scavenger hunt.
British colonies in America faced with numerous perils.

Years later, political cartoon used as symbol in American Revolutionary War.

32 pages feedback, 90% criticism, not a single reply from Anet.
And please, it takes 1 minute to even answer with “Thank you for your feedback, we are aware of the critics.”.People wanted grail quests for traits. Arenanet gave it to the players. They reacted to feedback and changed the acquisition of several traits.
Oh thank god, thank you. I was not prepared to go through that entire thread.
seeing how arena net tried to re-invent the wheel and ended up with a square wheel.. no, you’re not ‘playing it wrong’ ..it just is what it is
The sheer amount of snark in this post is absolutely hilarious.
What in the hell are you even doing here. I can’t stop laughing.
Lately not…
Oh so they have?
I’m not clear on the issue, do you want them to respond to every single thread, regardless of veiled insults and snark? Drop any family/personal plans to connect with the people that really matter?
These are actual questions, I am also under the assumption that ArenaNet is operated by androids, so I’d be alarmed if their A.I. broke protocol and allowed them to form families.
Pale skinned men from across the waters visit every few decades, until one bunch seems hellbent on proposing ownership of land.
Whistler the Peacemaker envisions a future of White Man.
Little Bull attempts to rally all tribes against Whites.
Mongols routinely attack the Dynasties.
A Dynasty ruler envisions a future of the Mongols.
Dynasty ruler unites opposing Dynasties under one kingdom to combat the Mongols.
Author’s Note: I am not a history buff, feel free to make snark-less corrections.
Hayato: Here’s an idea: let’s knock on the humongous gate door, then hide and see what they do when they open up and no one’s there.
Caromi Scout: Please don’t talk to me for the remainder of the shift.
Probably because it’s the new race, and I was told the sylvari were created through player-input.
Lastly, if you haven’t noticed yet, the second anet says they are going to ‘try’ to implement something, it is taken as a promise.
And sometimes they state that they are going to do something, and then do not follow through.
Yeah .. they did that in the past and learned like all other MMO developers that its not good to say anything in the forums, since whatever they say .. some people will complain forever about anything that happens and they dislike , or about things that don’t happen because they don’t happen, even if they would dislike it if they happen.
So .. thats why devs are very active in Beta .. and still after release .. but the longer a game is running the less they talk.
I think it’s essential for the relationship between developers/players to have a functioning communication basis. For a healthy and satisfying developement of a game, developers should ask for feedback, organize surveys and interact with the community. I don’t want them to make big promises, I want to see that they actually care and that they noticed our opinions. It’s so depressing to get no reaction. I mean, what is wrong about a short “Hello Players, thank you for your feedback, team Anet will discuss over it.”? It is so easy.
They haven’t?
I really hope they don’t phase out underwater combat. That would require a huge overhaul of how we map complete frostgorge and a few other areas. I don’t see them ever doing it.
What if the Deep Sea Dragon could absorb impossible quantities of water. It could change Honor of the Waves Explorable to deal with frantic quaggans, but keep the Plunderer. Collapsed glaciers and kodan ships can act as stairs.
If I remember correctly, they should be at a Laurel merchant.
I think all of Season 2 will be in a level 80 zone(s). Would be nice to see people downleveled to 5 for a future season. But I imagine that would be a balancing hell, given the nature of the new mechanics found on Mordrem.
- We learned of them first as “The Unseen”, masters of the White Mantle. Which by the time we hit Maguuma missions, was revealed to be . . . just a little shady.
Right. From my perspective, though, at that point I figured their “gods” were just a sham and didn’t exist (I mean, right? Wouldn’t be the first time). It would’ve helped if I had been attacked with Agony before being able to see them.
Thank you.
Guild Wars 2 was officially announced 23 months after the release of Guild Wars Prophecies and a year ago ArenaNet already admitted that they are working on certain „long term projects“. So maybe they will unveil the development of a next generation mmo soon…
With mounts! And permanent, challenging content, with a subscription and no cashshop! Instanced raids!
It’s as good as promised, we’re waiting, ArenaNet.
All I want is for them to bring the old Lion’s Arch fountain from GW1 back to the surface. Raise it from the bay, for old times sake!
I’d rather see them build a new monument out of some of the scrap left by The Breachmaker.
Me, uppercutting Scarlet into a miniature Breachmaker that begins to shatter.
Find Magister Lindsay and the missing caravan, for starters.
I haven’t seen any Norns shape shifting except to maybe try it out. Even Braham knows those skills aren’t worth the skill points.
Come play with me some time.
What makes everyone think the Amberite Recipes will be a constant (let alone the merchant herself)? Besides the fact that the Zephyrites can’t be in need permanently, because the activity in Dry Top will decrease, likely the Recipes are available for only so long.
Completely ignored my question about the Mursaat. :(
I think it’s more that they’re wanting to overhaul it in the future but at the moment they’ve got other things they’re working on and fixing underwater combat is on the back burner (hence no new underwater weapons).
I honestly love underwater combat (I made Kraitkin and am working on Frenzy…so yeah I like underwater) and hope that it isn’t too far in the future that they work on underwater combat and we get to see Bubbles and more of the Largos.
I very much hope so. The wording in the patch notes for the removal of Raid on the Capricorn suggests underwater PvP will never see the light of day again.
I don’t think they’re permanent. After the Zephyrites get back on their feet, adios.
I wonder how a dredge and asura contractor team would look. Smooth asura design, harsh dredge materials.
You might miss the Amberite weapons (and possibly armor).
only the bit of the story we never heard
That point is like Groundhog Day for the Living Story, not just in GW1 but in GW2 itself.
Do you mean the actual celebration or the movie?
Since you already have a level 80 (which most ignored) and are wondering what to do you are indeed kinda playing GW2 wrong.
There is no endgame. At this level, you join the grindgame. You grind champions, you grind LS for 2 weeks after the hour of storytime, you grind out various dungeons. It all depends upon what carrot you want. You pretty much grind out for carrots, or grind out for gold to buy gems to buy carrots. You can grind for craft mats if you feel like grinding for a long time for a minor stat boost. You can grind to find precursors or gold to buy one.. then grind for the legendary mats. You can join a Guild and grind out commendations doing the same thing, over and over. You can do WvW on unchanging maps over and over.. but live opponents does add some spice. You can grind for Achievements as well.
Same thing, over and over, pretty much describes post 80 GW.
You can still wander the world, hit a few DEs you haven’t and find a few new things, but at level 80 you are really meant to do the same old things, a lot. Very few singular events are going to reward you much of anything. If an event or npc does offer a chance at decent reward, you will be expected to join the Zerg, or the zerg will run over you as you try to do it. Either way, any challenge is gone. Some zerg targets require a fail condition, so, if you try to complete some events you will be abused for not playing gw2 right.
You could run some dungeons for the fun of first time through, but no one will want you unless you are doing it right. Right gear, right armor, right spec, right runes, and still a groupkick if you slow them down 40 seconds. Because “they” are doing it over and over.
LS gives new stuff every 2 weaks. One days worth. Then you still end up doing the same thing, over and over, for any meaningful reward.
Shrug. Many seem to love this. Understandable.. it’s no different than any other mmo, just not grinding for stat gear drops. You grind for “other stuff”.
I tend to just wander around to mine and kill Bears, since I can’t murder Charr. Or I go to wvw, where I can. They are simply precious when on fire and rolling around making noises. I do actually love saving the Quaggan in Frostgorge, mainly for the comments I get for being a vile, griefing Quaggan saver.
I don’t play GW2 right, at all. I don’t even have a backpeice of the month on. You can play gw2 the wrong way, but you won’t be a kewl kid.
I wish misinformation could be reported.
I think your issue was focusing on the Hearts. They’re not mandatory (nor is much in the game), they just help as a sorta guideline for equipment and Experience.
(it’s just kind of a weird and creepy boss, so you know)
Yeah.
I remember someone typing that it was just plain ol’ dragon energy retaliating against outside manipulations. That simplicity doesn’t sit with me, though.
I like this introduction of new craft Exotics, this could be done with new armor. I’m also a fan of the Recipes being obtainable through teamwork, the Zephyrite Tier merchant is perfect.
There are lots of female centaurs there. It’s just less noticeable then the Harathi females. Go back and look at the centaurs—all the ones with their chests covered are girls, all the barechested ones are boys. Additionally, in the “protect the centaur shaman” event in the Oasis, the shaman is referred to as “She”.
The Modniir are the same way—all the Modniir Hunters/rangers are females, with covered chests and female voices.
The Harathi have the most noticeable gender differences—their females have more noticeable breasts and flatter faces then other centaur species.
In fact, the only centaur group where females seem absent is the Tamini.
There is at least one female guard that looks like a “male’s” model: no chest armor, flat muscular chest, white and dark brown skin/fur. It may be a mistake, I stopped my investigation at that point, concluding that there’s no way to tell them apart until they speak.
When in doubt, always check the torso. If they’re wearing more clothes and have their chests covered usually they’re female – same goes for all races apparently.
That being said, yup there are female centaur and if I’m not mistaken the shaman in the oasis is a female.
And I like these ones better. The other centaur females we’ve seen so far look like complete different species, I don’t think they even have fur.
Female-voiced centaur guard. No chest armor.
As well as the ogres I just mentioned.
Something that’s a combination of past professions (Ritualist/Dervish=Reaper? Tengu Reaper? Soul Energy mechanic?) or completely unfathomed by the players.
I would have liked that too.
In a way I’m beginning to hate these Living World episodes.
Everything is just about killing the bad guys and stopping things getting worse.
No way of actually helping things to get better.Festival of the Four Winds was based around raising funds for Lion’s Arch.
Honestly, it’d be ridiculous if the “heroes” of the game were running around picking up garbage in Lion’s Arch when there’s (potentially) a dragon about to make things worse.
No one can fight 24/7. Troops IRL are given furloughs to take a break from active combat. And many “heroes” like to help the needy when they are taking a break. So I think its a great idea.
LA has become so disorganized and hard to get around. Everyone I know prefers to go to some other main city to do stuff instead of LA.
Tell that to a norn. Mordremoth is just one massive hunt.
I think this is the first time they’ve added an Exotic weapon set that’s craftable. It has me excited, likely they’ll run with this concept on new armors.
Have you ever spoken to ogres?
Haha, yeah. Half of them are voiced by Claudia Christian who also does the female norn PC and are identical to the male ogres!
Females wear more covering clothing, and seem to have smoother faces. Maybe. But if an ogre is shirtless, it’s definitely male.
Ha! I thought this, too. If I remember correctly, Lagula changes her clothes to something more “masculine” when she becomes chieftain. If not for the DDoS, I could check.
Nearly everyone hates it? Evidence?
I love it. I know lots of people who love it. Anet has the actual data on how many people not only play it, but continue to play it.
And the new living story stuff is much better than the old stuff. And some of that was pretty kitten ed good.
If no one likes the living story why did so many people continue to play the Marionette and Escape from LA?
Only Vayne would challenge someone to provide empirical data on something before offering anecdotal evidence in rebuttal.
Is Vayne providing evidence in rebuttal? Seemed to me he’s explaining how he doesn’t understand the notion of, supposedly, so many people not liking the Living Story. It should help Devilson answer his question.
Lockpicks.
Linksville. Also Wooden is garbage. Human garbage!
… faith…
You’re setting yourself up for disappointment.
Have you ever spoken to ogres?
Haha, yeah. Half of them are voiced by Claudia Christian who also does the female norn PC and are identical to the male ogres!
She has a beautiful voice. Or at least her acting is.
Have you ever spoken to ogres?
Retaliation? I can strip that right off.
Tempted to start Episode 2 just to see this again. I like that they took my helmet off for this shot.
I’m more than sure Belinda’s death was not meant to affect us directly. There’s so much analyzing of her death in several threads, it’s not that complicated.
weird all this negative talking here, I liked it but often I forget ppl come to forums to complain.
I found it was nice made and I could understand the feeling, anet can’t kill main character all the time so I see no problem and beside is the sister of a main that’s enough or do u criticize batman story bcs u knew his parents only 20 seconds ?
Last time I checked, Batman’s parents dying is kinda what made him into Batman.
Marjory’s sister dying is likely not going to turn her into Batman. Although that would certainly be an interesting crossover.
What did it make her?
I think you’re misinterpeting it. Its not about the centaurs working with the Kournans.
It’s the fact that Varesh manipulated her people by making the majority think the centaurs weren’t slaves, and in that way prevented major protests.
The decieved lesser beings are in fact, her people, who think that the centaur-forged blade they’re adding a hilt to came from a freewillingly coöperating centaur smith.
How do you get that “fact” from the page linked. Nothing we know of Varesh Ossa suggests she would bother. Instead, ample evidence that she did not care and simply expected compliance.. backed by Military power. Conscription, Seizure of lands, appropriation of produce, etc etc are not indicative of a Warmarshal concerned with “protests”.
The book is junk. Better that Scarlets alliances remain a mystery than do this. Why make up stuff like this when, for another example, the Mursatt, through the White Mantle, duped and manipulated the entire Krytan nation, a story well known and supported by lore.
As the OP suggested this seems to be done with either no knowledge of GW, or worse, with disdain for it.
Make what up? Kournas were involved with centaurs. How are you not understanding this? Do you remember the mission with Zhed Shadowhoof, where you’re captured and he procures a key and you liberate the other centaurs? That was in Kourna.
Remember that one subordinate of Varesh, he tried to shove his weight with that demon, and the demon told him what’s what? That guy was clearly not on the same page as Varesh, it’s not a stretch that she tells Kournans one thing, and history another.
How did we learn of the Mursaat? I only remember them being brought up as the actual bad guys when talking to that Seer. There’s some things I’ve been looking to get answered about them, too, if you would happen to know. I think it’s still a mystery, but where is their homeland? And why did they kill those White Mantle at the Charr warcamp, they had a pretty solid religious following already, why the culling? D’Alessio(?) was never heard of again after they took him?
