Super elite dungeons?

With the current mechanism in play DEEPS!! with a smattering of ice bow, it would only mean stacking and spanking 15 times (on the designated spot) instead of 5. What they need to do is re-address the whole philosophy of dungeon design making those that visit there encounter a unique experience every time.

Until they do that, your super elite dungeons will be, sadly, just longer versions of what we currently have, requiring more players, but still the same old kitten.

edit: clarity

Are you in a guild that doesn’t stack?

I entertained the idea of groups being placed in separate areas of a dungeon to be joined at or toward the end. But not a new dungeon, it would be a new path (or Mode) in every dungeon.

I really dont think that paragon was locked out of the content by design, it was probably just due to meta and elitism. Im pretty sure every dungeon could be completed with 1 paragon in the party.

I tried, my friend and I could not get past the Four Horsemen.

I opened 1200 gold chests, 122 silvers and 164 bronze chests. That’s over 14,000 champ bags.

No precursors. Zero!

I got about 700+ T6 mats.
8 stacks of each of Tier 5 mats.
21 stacks silk
20 stacks of thick leather
20 stacks of mithril

300+ rares
80+ exotics (6 bonetti’s rapier)

And with the tokens, about 300 heavy crafting bags.

G-G-Give me that Silk, please!

For those that enjoyed Underworld and Fissure of Woe.
Some want similar content placed in the game, and more like it’s original rather than a re-imagined adaptation, because it was, at the very least, done well.

I played a Paragon.

To be crystal clear, that meant I could not participate in the “challenge” of Hard Mode Fissure of Woe, and I could only dream of ever reaching Dhuum in Normal Mode. No one would play with me, I was told numerous times it is impossible to bring a Paragon, guildmates couldn’t be bothered.
The lore behind Fissure of Woe intrigued me, and the Underworld’s scenery and inhabitants were a wonder to experience.
How was their difficulty not inherently flawed?
Why was it alright to lock an entire profession out of major content?
In what way could their difficulty be implemented in Guild Wars 2 without alienating players that favor certain Traits?
What made them so good that you could ignore the problems that seemed painfully clear, as the naked sun in your eyes, to me?

I think the correct question here is:

Where is the Underworld?

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Underworld

Where is our epic boss battle with Dhuum, and our collectable end game armor?

Dhuum was sealed away two-hundred, fifty years ago. It took him more than one-thousand years to break his seal, and I don’t think there’s many creatures to die in the Underworld for him to collect power anymore.

I may be wrong, but I think what is meant is…

" Where is OUR Version of an Underworld Type dungeon?"

“Where is OUR version of a Dhuum type epic battle against a Dhuum type Epic Boss?”

“Where is OUR Version of the epic Loot that Dhuum dropped In Guild Wars?”

Dhuum took four years to implement.

No you didn’t. You mentioned farming derogatorily, but now that you’ve cleared that up: time-investing (I don’t actually think you meant to include this, but to clarify with an example, you want to spend five hours in a dungeon/area? We just wanna get to the heart of what you want), farmable and skill-based, lucrative?

What I meant by ‘mindless farming’…

… let’s not go from one extreme to another.

I didn’t ask you any of that and you haven’t addressed the subject. But let’s pretend you typed ‘yes’: you want fights to last longer, I’ll assume you don’t just want an increase in health, but moments where the boss requires some mechanic to make him vulnerable or take different damage, maybe even just becomes unattackable. Or just improved AI?
You want to be able to do this all day, in one area/zone/instance.
And you can’t just be familiar with your profession, but not necessarily “breathe” it. It should require a firm grasp on the ins and outs of what you play?
Finally, no matter how long farmers scour an area or zone, every loop/run-through of the content you want will net you more gold/potential gold than any of the content currently available, correct?

Why talk about gold? The whole gold-grind element is why so many people find GW2 boring (warned Anet about that for a long time). Talk about special content-specific cool unique or rare rewards.

He wants more gold than zerg farming can muster. I imagine that wouldn’t be akin to the “gold-grind element”.
We already get those rewards.

I am absolutely appalled by ArenaNet’s wanton behavior with my subscription monies. When I walk into a small, convenience store that I’ve purchased a 75 cent oatmeal creme pie from in the past, I expect the store owner to be on hand when I assert that the inventory needs to change and the aisles rearranged. That’s just basic economy and ArenaNet is just clearly not operating with all their marbles.

I have been saying for a while that Gw1 high level content is rewarding.

Hence you could conclude that something rewarding for me would be similar to the reward we could get in Gw1.

First of all, I could repeat that content as much as I wanted to get my rewards.

Secondly, the end chest reward was useful toward something (high end armor in terms of cosmetics)

Reward is subjective, please elaborate.

We had repeatable dungeons, but that was done away with for the better. I don’t see that being reversed, ever, so you should probably drop this game. Unless you want to organize Boss Blitz, but I think you mentioned before these are too easy?

End chest rewards varied, your view may be skewed. From my gameplay, Domain of Anguish Hard Mode was easy and a total grind. Time-consuming as hell half the time, for little pay-off. Fissure of Woe was too demanding, I felt somewhat useless, and Underworld I could never hope to finish. ArenaNet dropped the ball on those two (four, I guess, I vaguely remembering being barely of use in Urgoz Warren and The Deep), I was furious about the design.

Sounds like you want something different, something this game will never offer you. And it doesn’t help that others on your side are terrible at wording their issues and thus not helping your argument.

So you want more difficulty than is currently offered. Yeah, drop this game.

why 3 pages of repeating posts?

It’s repeating because people keep following what the OP is doing: repeating the same thing over and over and dodging pertinent questions.

Does it have more rewarding end game content

Define rewarding.

re·ward·ing adjective \-?wo?r-di?\
: giving you a good feeling that you have done something valuable, important, etc.

: giving you money or profit

GW2 is an easy MMO, a casual type. Therefore, its “end game content”, however miserable it is, is not rewarding. For instance, Tequatl or 3 Headed Wurm are considered “end game content”, yet now that everyone does it on a daily basis ( I did when I was playing the game, together with a large multi-server guild that still exists, I believe ) as it’s nothing complex, the RNG is a joke. It has to be with such easy content.
On the other hand, if GW2 had the harder content, like GW1 for instance, or some hardcore raids like in other games, or was, generally speaking, more difficult as a game ( Lineage 2 up until Chronicles 4/5 ), it would reward you with a guaranteed, very rare drop. Why? Because, unlike in GW2, only few would be able to finish it.

That’s pretty much the understanding of the simple word “rewarding” with regards to “rewarding end game content” in MMOs.

This sounds like exclusivity, correct? This is an inclusive game.
I’m interested, now, in how the players can fathom inclusive content that’s “more rewarding” (assuming there’s another definition outside of ‘not everyone can do it’) and won’t collect dust after everyone has done it. Maybe make a brainstorming thread, minus snide comments.

Outside of the cultural armor, gear is only a “Gold Farm” if you have no desire to play the content that awards the stuff normally and more efficiently. Yes, you can buy a legendary – but it’s cheaper and less time-consuming to make it yourself. Same with Ascended Gear.

I can attest to this, I am currently achieving these in this manner. Granted, while increasing my Artificer Rating, my Achievement Points gave me thirty gold I didn’t feel I earned, so..

There is an underwater dragon so underwater combat or a mostly underwater zone has a chance. The thing is, with the rate content is coming out there will probably be Guild Wars 3 before we got that far. I mean you think we would kill like a dragon a year with six dragons, so six years (which is a healthy lifespan for any game). So far we killed only 1 and have barely touched at a second and its been 2 years.

I haven’t thought anything. You let ArenaNet worry about the distribution of Elder Dragon whoopings. Where is the suspense in a specific countdown.

I don’t get why they even bothered with this “Ooooooooo neat underwater combat!” function of the game if they were just going to neglect it tbh.

Part of how I suppressed my disappointment was with the fantasy/potential of an underwater zone (largos, maybe, but that would be quite some time from now). I don’t think it necessarily needs a dungeon, but it would be neat to see a reverse Honor of the Waves. Definitely a mini-dungeon and jumping puzzle, though.

Boneheart.3561

Please reply on what you would like to see for these 3 facets of content.

Solo end-game
5-man end-Game
Open-World End-Game

Solo end-game could include things such as: Liadri style combat, Personal Story style missions (including AI armies / team), mini-game mechanics tests such as the crystal hunt in the Labyrinthian Cliffs.

5-man end-game could include things such as randomized 5-man dungeons (not fractals) with objective based gameplay rather than Point-A-to-Point-B, Boss encounters, 5-man triggered Dynamic Events (similar to how Siegerazor works in WvW).

Open-World end-game could include things such as smaller scaling versions of the Wurm, Marionette, world bosses (noone likes zerging…its boring), large-scale PvEvP hybrids, PvE dungeon/fortress assaults/defense.

A personal note, I would like many of these to contain a barrier of entry of some sort, to prevent the mass zerg mentality.

I, initially, didn’t read this because “end-game” means other parts of the game are pointless. I do not want a game like that, nor do I think ArenaNet will ever design such content. Your ideas sound interesting, just don’t make it exclusive/more important than the rest of the game.

So far, I’ve been keepin’ chill not complaining about the lack of underwater skins. I found it most upsetting for Dragon’s Jade, the most beautiful weapon skin set I’ve ever seen. I love Guild War 2’s underwater combat, I’ve never experienced anything like it.

What’s most confusing is that adding underwater skins would not upset players (assuming what I’ve heard, that underwater combat is unpopular, is true), since acquiring the skin isn’t a part of some random pool. I also would like a developer answer about this: other than very few people enjoying the design, why neglect the underwater fans, what am I missing?
