personally when i was in t1, the fights were extremely boring and defensive, if you want kills play defensive which is just boring, if you go offensive they play defensive and if they play it correctly you get farmed, either way its just boring, i remember the old days back in kaineg in t8 with DR and FC, those were the days, open field fights with 30, only 2 bl could be handled at one time, almost never a que except on reset nights. People like to say strategy this, strategy that, but honestly ive been to all the diffrent ranges of tiers, they use same tactics, it all comes down to coverage for who comes out on top, and if the coverage is extremely close, then it comes down to strategy and how the players of that server played.

If you are not killing larger groups of players with smaller groups, that is not a problem with the server, nor is it indicative of the guilds represented on a server. It is a problem with the people you are running with.

And I welcome the blowout. Who cares about the score, it is pointless. The only thing that matters it the killing. The only thing that matters is wiping big tasty zergs and collecting mountains of loot bags. That is the only thing that matters.

A blowout will only discourage the fair weather players from logging in, which is good. Most of the time they just follow a commander tag and are rally bots for the opposition.

I speak only for myself and those I run with. If anyone does care about the score and that matters to you, that is fine. We just care about the fights.

I personally never have cared about the score too, but what i mean to say is the way the server is playing is of poor quality not worthy of t2. I’m not refering to BT because i know they know how to handle open field fights, but i’m refering to others to step it up. proper siege placements and defenses are needed to play a good match or you’ll just rolled, and that’s never any fun.

Also, it wasn’t the other server that had more numbers, it was us who had more numbers and wiped, that was embarassing for me tbh.

Personally the orbs only makes matches unbalanced if you aren’t in a tier that you can handle, but if you’re in the correct tier, it should be fun to have. lets hope anet brings back the orbs with hacks and glitches fixed.

I started launch week on DB, hopped to kaineg after the collapse of DB in t2 and to escape the drama I went to the one place that TRULY didn’t care about winning because holding one tower for an hour=win! Came to maguuma, loved it there but left because of some issues, which i won’t discuss, went to JQ with tolbhrin which was just straight up awful, not that the server was bad, it was just too much of a stalemate because if you don’t run in groups of 15ish you get zerged over alot, so i asked tolbhrin if he wanted to go back down a couple of tiers to escape having to zerg with others as we usually run in small groups anyways, and here we are in FA now. But for the record we came here at the same time as the IoJ xfer but didn’t know about it or else i wouldve asked tolbhrin to go to DB to help balance the match.

Well my understanding of his post was that FA and MAG doesn’t care about DB and it’s all about them. I was simply responding saying all servers are great in their own way and comes from great roots, and DB being my home server i still have pride about the server, in fact i’ll probably guest there since my former kaineg guild is in DB now.

I agree that waypoint rushing was pretty dumb and the invul spots where you could hit bosses were lame both needed to be taken out, but the increase difficulty in mobs are kind of ridiculus. I was wearing full cleric gear in AC em, and the graveling HATCHLINGS were hitting me for close to 400 per hit, not including their bleeds. It’s not like we didn’t finish dungeon but my point is this makes dungeons not friendly to non 80’s from the looks of it. It makes it extremely hard with sub 80’s who run this dungeon or new players with random gear. Yes i’m sure well adjust to the difficulty which really isnt much since its just increased mob hp and atk power, so it just means more kiting, but its ridiculus how i have to kite 10+gravelings hatchlings who hit for 300-400 per hit with bleeds.

I had around 2800 toughness and was taking 400 from hatchlings, I’m not saying it was impossible to do but i can imagine players who dont have toughness gear getting hit for maybe 700 from just gravelings, I saw a guardian in my party wearing full AC em tough/power/vit gear getting hit extremely hard by just 5-7gravelings, at first i thot he was just squishy but i started to get hit just as hard, so something isn’t right because our guardian was a decent player who knew his class very well and to play it but its just the dmg outputted by mobs is a little too much.

Not sure what you mean, but just want to point something out. The reset means that if Kain were going Tier 1, they will get there quicker due to not having stats from before they got stacked reducing their average. Them not playing this week would just drag there stats down. I presume Kain are used to easy wins and want to stay as low a tier as possible.

You’re argument is flawed from the beginning. How would kain be used to easy wins if they were t8 for over 10weeks, (not sure exact length but its quite long). It’s unfair for you to say because kaineg has great roots, sure it’s got lots of bandwagoners but who doesn’t, the easy wins only happened recently due to the xfers and coverage.

Guardians and eles already can block incoming projectiles on siege. I agree that engineers should have something to do with siege too, either repair them or buff them.

As for another idea it would also be awesome if you could set up bases, but this would only be of use if the maps were bigger.

yes guardians can already block it so this skill might be kind of useless except for keep gates, where a couple of guardians can stall a golem rush on a gate. 10 guardians with 50seconds of invul is kind of OP, so i guess the opposing team needs to do the same to their golems to protect them as well.

The PAGM or Portable asuran Gate module basically a siege that could be deployed on the battle field and once constructed offers a gate in point from another PAGM from the same team only 2 could be built at one time. they could be used defensively or offensivly. Then they could nerf Mesmer Portal to like 5 only\without totally removing that strategy from the game and give it a fair option for all classes to pull a siege port.

I think its a great idea in general but i see it as easily exploitable where people could break an outerwall, then build it, linking their spawn spot where they could easily port supplies in from other keeps/garrison as well as numerous body counts. It would hurt the outnumbered team alot. But in it’s defense i guess i could see people using it defensively and building one at set keep and building numerous siege as well as spawning back instantly into that keep as well.

Yak’s is a displaced tier 3 with good night coverage but seem kinda “meh” during the day with a lot of mindless zerging. They are actually going to lose a bunch of rank points this week because while they are beating Maguuma and Ehmry, they are not beating them by that much.

Maguuma never seems to play smart. They have a lot of “hit and run” squads but no “capture and hold” squads that I ever seem to notice. They usually fight for 2nd place and leave the 1st place team largely untouched which is why they are stuck in tier 4. Goons + AoN, nuff said.

Ehmry is probably a tier 5 server that got bumped up after beating Hedge by like 300,000 points as they fell past. Ehmry does seem to be holding in Tier 4 though. They recently got some new guilds and seem to be hanging in there.

Next week will be a rematch between these three since Yak’s failure to bring in a resounding stomping means they are losing points and the other two are gaining.

wow, Yak is far from mindless, they are coordinated and know this stuff unlike a certain server whom i won’t name, granted they have numbers sometimes, but during na we all have about equal pressence spread across all bl. Maybe maguuma doesn’t want to move to t3 where zerging is necessary to have any kind of fun? TC has massive populations as well as CD, unsure about FA but i hear they are very coordinated and i would actually like to see them in our tier for fun fights. So far EB and Mag is t4 material, YB and CD is T3.5 material as well as FA, or maybe TC is just 2.5. Also from the looks mag just attacks whoever they feel like it, because if we attacked CD all the time, we would never hear the end of your qq about us focus firing on you for days.

I’d just like to say that, after reading this thread I see a lot of the same problems exist in this bracket as everywhere else (exploit use). Tbh you guys have far less of it going on because most of this community shuns out people that employ the use of them pretty immediately (with proof of course).

Anyways, this is EOH’s permanent home, so I hope we can all work together in the near future. A few of yous have seen a couple of us over the last couple of days.

pretty sure its just accounts online during that time i believe, don’t hold me to it, so if your friends come online during really wierd times and try for a transfer they might be able to. Unless youre on SoS where its got 100% coverage then nevermind you’re most likely screwed.

well personally everything sounds good, but i think the only thing i dislike is the insta build walls and gates, i really enjoyed it as it really helps the smaller force when they are defending to divide the larger force.

it most likely was a mesmer, i’ve hid in keeps for a couple hours before, just for the right moment. You’re talking about 20-25mins, which is fairly low amount of time. if that keep has broken before recently, it most likely couldve been a mesmer with a bad mesmer sweep.

It’s become acceptable because many servers use it, every server i’ve faced have used it at least once, until anet changes this, it will be fair game for now even though it is a hassle.

i would not be surprised if it was past enemies.

It wouldnt make any sense, you’re asking to get a buff for having less players? In all honesty that 50 man zerg should be able to kill you unless you outskill/play them, or you have siege set up. Theres no reason why we should increase cap limit for that. And even for portal bomb turtling, i still wouldn’t want aoe cap limit increased. I dont run with zergs of 50, but thats just my 2 cents.

I wouldn´t particularly want it gone, nor would i want more portal skills. Like i said before i would want more skills with similiarly great effect on gameplay, not with same mechanics.
Failing that i think it needs to be toned down. Having 1 single skill define strategy, is not good.

Well the first part of your post came off as hostile like you thot i was attacking you and your server. More skills that could change the game would be great if thats what you mean, but if you mean every class should have portal then no. Portal is game changing, but i dont believe it to be game breaking. Who knows what new skill anet would even add to give balance to something like this for other classes, conjurable trebs? a little too OP i believe unless it had a high CD as well as supplys to build it would be 150 instead of 100, just my 2cents on it.

Just so you know, we use it too and more than often succesfuly. I personaly don´t have any problem using it or having it used on me.
What i have problem with is that one single skill can define battles this much. There ought to be more skills with similiarly profound effect.
Mechanic being unique to some profession has nothing to do with it. Ele conjures are unique, but unless they add conjure trebuchet i don´t see them even compareable to portal.

Dude i think you need to relax, i said if, i’m just trying to respond constructively in a nice manner and you are just full out raging on a forum post.

Even so, would you just have it gone with? what would it accomplish? would you rather 5-6classes run around with portals, easily portaling golems anywhere on the map in a the flash of 20seconds with coordinated guilds?

Well i am rooting for you guys. I have heard many good things about your server from an actual player from your server. score is saying otherwise atm i believe, hope you guys have a good fight and not a lot of bs from other servers, it will get annoying if its repeatedly the same people.

In all honesty portal is a game changer when used correctly, but it’s a hell of a lot better than stalemates that force you to just sit for hours trying to cap something or defend something.

And no i dont mean open field battles, i mean keeps and towers. If properly defended and sieged correctly, a force of 20 could hold against 40 or more easy, so how do you break the stalemate? just because the 40portal bombs the 20 doesnt mean its an iwin situation either, if the other 20 players see it, they would throw all skills/aoe siege skills on the portal basically just destroying that force. It’s counterable when seen. It’s hard to react sometimes, but mainly its because people’s attention span is elsewhere.

i have heard a few cases that had no pics, but only the word of a CD, who we have pics of hacking with groups of 15, as well as fraps, so hmm who would i believe. Don’t be a zergling, think on your own, dont believe what others say.

I don’t mind expanding but each class also has something that makes them unique in their own way. Portal would be the mesmers, or you could argue timewarp. I don’t know about the other classes except engineers in which would be weapon kits and no cooldown swaping. elementals and their 20skills on attunements. so on.

People quit being a Mesmer cause “it’s too hard”. We few who stick with it should not be punished anymore.

Very few people know how true this is, mesmers are only as good as the players, and most players who pick up mesmers don’t know how to play it, which is why a majority of the players are good at being mesmers and people cry OP. Everytime i see a thief in wvw i have a feeling that 70/30 that the thief is bad because stealth+hs doesnt equal win.

It’s referring to your comment that they only acknowledge themselves and not the night zerg. They are the night zerg.

That and this odd notion that we don’t acknowledge anything but the “good stuff” about our server, which I don’t know where that came from, since there have been plenty of comments from our own CD players, myself included, acknowledging our faults.

The fact is it’s the Maguma players posting here who can’t acknowledge anything bad about their server. Heck they’ll even argue on one page that they don’t care about winning on one page and then argue that they do care on the next.

I’m happy to admit that CD has issues… but this idea that we’re a skilless mass of zerglings is nonsense.

If you read other Mag posts as well they’ve stated that mags not perfect either and some have even listed down problems as well. And i used dr phil and terrorists as a form of troll. I don’t mind occasional trolls but so far all week, it’s been like this, theres no reason for any of it. so i’ve decided to just ignore. Also if you haven’t noticed, it’s a minority few who keeps saying it, and you obviously are just re-living the past constantly bringing that up, i even gave you guys props, but like i also said you guys aren’t the best like you say, and youre not the worst like others say either. I have no problem withnight crew players, but to come online and post things and bash our server for lack of defense is a bit odd, if you didn’t want to pvd maybe you should go to a eu server til they get a server in asia running, which is probably another case of why people call you guys mindless i believe, you get online while nobody is really playing to defend then brag about it like it was the biggest moments of your lives. Mag and EB is definitely not a night crew focused wvw server, they might have a couple players numbering up to 20 or so all in one bl each, but nothing like a 60-80 group of wvw players spread across 4 bl.

Also i’m clearly an individual with just an opinion who i always say is mines and mines alone, if you guys reflect that on my server idc tbh. If this is the case it’s why your server looks bad already, because you guys reflect your server this way.

They are 2 people from the night crew, the commander of EsF came here with more humble and grace whom i have great respect for. You guys don’t come here with the same attitude which is why i don’t have respect for you 2 in particular and possibly more players in game, who knows. i honestly don’t remember us at CD calling anyone, let alone TC, mindless zerg. that term was introduced by our opponents in these 2 match ups. if there’s anyone who love to use the term on another server it is certainly not from CD, most likely from our opponents in these 2 match ups.

It’s because you guys only want to acknowledge the good stuff about your server, you fail to give credit to your night crew who pulls 65% of your weight (reason being is because they easily fliped everything for you and upgraded it to make it easier to defend), saying you guys did it all. You guys failed to acknowledge you had numbers on us. You guys failed to acknowledge you guys had hackers til we showed the proof. And once again you’re failing to acknowledge this, I’m sorry but i can’t handle the mentaility that you guys are giving off for CD players, this is prolly why people bash on your server, because the people who post for CD are obnoxious with nothing constructive to say and for that this will be my last post because you guys seem to have ego’s too big for everyone here.

I’ll be realistic now since it’s my last post here, no guild from CD has impressed me at all, [KH] is your typical decent sized guild that every server has which is just average in skills.[rise] is your typical huge guild that zergs together (zerging is not bad, it is needed) and you’re missing the small zerg busting guild group that other servers usually have which is what sets you guys back in my opinion. Guilds like SM from EB, or guilds like OG from Mag. Basically when it’s all watered down, CD is an average playing server with a higher population than everyone in this server, thats all it comes down to.

Although i will come back to post here to defend myself if needed.

If you only believe i defend my server only you’re severely mistaken. I’ve defended everyone in this server at least once. I defended SM from Ehmry Bay when you guys are calling them skill less. I defended MrKnieves from CD (although i probably shouldn’t have because i failed to read his prior post). I defend anyone who i believe is right. Yes there is a vocal minority who speaks other wise, in fact they could be saying the same thing about me, saying everything good i said about those servers actually are false when Mag might believe them to be crap, but who knows, all i can say is, if they are wronged when i know they are right i defend them.

I guess CD just don’t understand what it takes to be a maguuman, so please don’t xfer over here because you guys will qq about how we play.

Also since you guys are so good and that’s what you imply, why can’t you beat TC who has 2x your number? should be easy right? You guys call them cowards, mindless zergs but you guys obviously got your A** handed to you.
