Not that I disagree with the basic premise of your post I just want to point out to you that throw bola almost never lands, can be strafed away from and suffers from terrible terrible pathing issues. There’s a reason why most warriors don’t use it anymore (we’d like to, but it’s bad). Other than that yeah you do have a point about setting up moves, but the OP is correct when he talks about the pathing being pretty bad for most of the warrior ‘leap/charge’ style moves.

Just ask anyone about Rush, bullscharge, sword2 leaps going wonky.

Edit: Also, noone here is disagreeing that engi’s could use some love btw but warriors are still hurting in a few major areas. Guard/Mes/Thief/Ele are all shining paragons of amazing class capability. Ranger/Necro are good, but not in the top tier like the above four and engi’s and warriors are in the “need some fundamental fixes” tier.

Oh! Well afaik we Yak’s have never done alliances, nor do we ever intend to do alliances. Both factions on the opposite side are the enemy on the field. Occasionally our commanders will plan things around whether one side is pushing or getting hammered in order to take tactical advantage of the situation to our benefit but for most Benders it’s a simple matter of “if it’s red, it’s dead.” And I love my servermates for it.

Increase the size of the maps, make supply something that can be delivered by hand and lootable (suddenly gives those small/solo players a contribution to the war if they want it besides just random ganking). Make the maps unique, guards meaningful, anything to spread out the zergs, so on and so forth. Remove the stupid JP.

Really most serious wuvwuvers seem to be on the same page about this.

Oh and the most important part:
Remove invisibility, or fix culling.
Or fix stealth (so it’s more like the predator, think about how you see yourself via JP stealth buff, see through and shimmery but not completely invisible.

Pfft, Thieves are never skilled. They’re simply designed in an absurd manner that when combined with the culling issues present in WvW, effectively doubling their invisible time compared to the time they are visible, that they are crazy stronger than what they should be. In TPvP they are far more balanced because the stealth-to-visible ratio is far more manageable. That and you’re a ranger, which immediately makes you more skilled than the powerhouse classes. So kudos to you sir.

I know you love your ele, hell I love MY ele and the 1vGroup capabilities highlighted in the videos are one of the main reasons I rolled one. Same with thief. The same potential is NOT present on the warrior so I am going to believe that you’re just in denial, or defensive as if we’re asking for ele nerfs. I know some people are, I’m not however. I am simply stating the truth, backed by video evidence in abundance about the capabilities between certain classes as it concerns the OPs question.

If you really think you can pull of the same feats on a warrior then I would like to challenge you, or any of your pro warriors to do so and provide the community the videos of it so we can all learn what everyone is doing wrong. To have the same potential a warrior will need the regen of a full regen build, the control of a hammer build, the movement of a GS+Sword/Warhorn build, the condi removal of a shout+soldier rune+traited warhorn+signet of stamina+runes of lyssa build and the aoe of a longbow.

If you figure out how to squeeze all that into one build then yes the warrior will have the same tools necessary to provide the same performance seen in the videos above.

Then with a necro please.
Then Ranger.
Maybe guardian as well since the only vids I see for them are 1v1’s or frontlining in a zerg.

Armor TYPE is meaningless. Toughness stacking and armor RATING are what you’re thinking of, and running the proper gear my ranger/ele both have over 3k armor rating, same as warriors.

It’s active/passive defensive ABILITIES and mitigation/evasion that determines tankiness, along with sustainable self healing. Armor type has nothing to do with it at all.

Because PvE means nothing? Ever. In any game. It’s pre-scripted silliness. There’s also a video of a D/D ele basically soloing fractals btw.
Now I know this is PvP and I shouldn’t mention any Pve things here BUT, if warriors are so bad off and need such a massive buff how come they are the only class to solo any dungeon in the game? I know this is the PvP thread but they can still build for the same builds those guys would do. So warriors may need some buff but they are not in as terrible as shape as the doomsday sayers believe they are.

We want the Warrior to be capable of good melee damage in a sturdy body. They can still do some decent damage at range, but they aren’t as good at it as the Ranger (with their pet). They have a hard time taking enemy boons down, and instead, have to just go through them with raw force. Warriors, as stated by developers are meant for group work. If you are trying to play warrior solo it will not work as well. Yes the LoD hammer build requires other classes to support or “babysit” them, but that is team dynamics. WvW is not about the individual but about groups. Whether you are working with a zerg or with a party, the group aspect is the key. I know that is not viable for everyone and disliked by some, if you are one of these people look at playing a more solo class.

the scores are pretty clear about who’s having the population advantage, and manually reset and shuffle the servers on the 28th while closing free transfers and telling everyone:

Mostly at the devs for not having the foresight to realize that this was going to happen given the decisions they’ve made.

I mean, there’s an obvious HUGE disparity between the survivability, mobility and self sustainability in class options going on here that allows certain classes the ability to dive into these 1vGroup situations and lay down havoc while not only surviving the counter-attack but winning the situation.

• Winning doesn’t mean spiking EVERY player, but surviving the encounter with some kills and GETTING OUT OF DODGE SUCCESSFULLY in order to /laugh, /dance at the fate of that group getting face-smashed by one insane class.

Some people like the idea of squaring off with an opponent. Other people, like yourself I presume from the premise of your post, prefer the fight where their friends hold a guy down while you kick them repeatedly.

But I agree with what the other poster said, your video shows a bunch of warriors being babysat. That’s not the position most players will find themselves in. EVER. Also the fact that warriors require babysitters is the issue with warriors in the first place.

Most important tactically? Mesmer
Great for zerg fights? Necro

Group buffs? Guard/Engie

Find a roll that you enjoy and choose your class based on that.

So:
Ele – 2
Guard – 2
Mesmer – 1
Thief – 2

Necro – 1
