You can still do this it’s just not convenient. The only thing you can’t do is have two commanders in the same ‘party’ for buff purposes. You can split you squad into several squads if you want and they can still have parties in their separate squads. The supply shouldn’t be an issue since it seems more organized groups would be using multiple tags and they can just have the different squads report the supply. Again not convenient but doable.
One of the best feature of the Squad UI change is the “hidden commander tag” (only squad members can see it). It’s in the game, right? Couldn’t log in yet, so dunno..
It makes guild raids possible without unwanted pugs.
But you can’t use focus/ranged party tag with this setup as you either don’t see it from the other squad (close to pointless to use this way) or everyone can see it (you can’t do really-closed raid).
If they wanted the core-classes be around the same level as the “elite specs”, then they would not name it “elite”.
I see it as playing in gw1 without an elite skill. You can make fun builds, but you’ll never be on the same level as others.The name of the spec is just unfortunate. Anet stated several times they’re not supposed to be better, but a different way to play the class. So no, I don’t think they should be this strong compared to core specs, but I guess that’s how you sell an xpack.
You know, when they make stronger classes/specs to sell it and name it ‘elite’, it’s a lil’ bit hard to think that they were not aware of it when naming it 
And as afaik we’ll have more elite specs while only one can be used at the same time (last slot), I’ll continue to see it as gw1’s elite skills even if I’m wrong

You could get more info about it if you ask them on their server-site (pevepe.net), but here’s a “short” summary:
After ViZ destroyed themselves (Troma left afaik), SFR became the #1 server, back then it was still “based on” mostly guilds (community’s majority was in wvw-guilds, even if they were scouting/small-scale guilds), which then slowly got transformed into a pugserver because it remained open to transfers for a very long time.
Bored with the “no challenge” situation and/or not good enough average fighting quality, “a lot” core-members/guilds left the server to search for more fun wvw experience (what they mostly found afaik), leaving SFR with a lot of pugs but not enough good commanders/active wvw-guilds.
But as even the enemies had no motivation for pure-PPT matchups, the pug-coverage with “nightcap” still let SFR remain #1, even though the quality was way worse than before.
Then came the new server-status calculation, which made SFR full.
F2P and back-for-HoT guilds couldn’t get there as it was full for a long time even when barely anyone was on the borders, struggling to get a “decent-numbered zerg” on the BLs, outnumbered in prime-time/friday reset outside EBG.
This made SFR fall in the PPT-rankings fast, to the place where it belongs with the state it has now.
What the future will be none knows, but at least SFR has some guilds again who could transfer back to their “motherserver” when SFR became open again.
(And as we all know Kresh, he’ll not stop searching for transfers until SFR is full again. For The PPT!

@Coglin : it’s not because you was on a bad server with tons of troll that we have all sufer the same issue… On Piken we had some troll but not all the day… Even not all weeks..
And those players should be banned from WvW… Now all the community is punished because of those troll.
They successfully trolled the whole wvw community if the auto-upgrades were their doing!

Easy answer, not enough ppl playing, so you can’t have separate Qs or the waiting time would be too long. (And after the “fix”, you can’t even do other things while in Q like mindless pve-farm or dueling “in hotjoin”.)
We had Solo/TeamQ some years ago, got removed.
So now even more servers that actually have active WvW are full. I came back to WvW — I am caught on a dead server. What the heck do I do???

Even a one-trick pony Shadowstep in, down the guy, Shadowstep out works.. Stomping is another story, but it’s possible to down an ele in the middle of a zerg who is semi-afking while running and get out before they can kill you.

I know those dailies still exist, but they cannot be completed on the existing maps. Killing a veteran at the new borderlands doesn’t count for the daily. And the ruins of power are gone for good (that is one of my favorite changes).
Arenanet should just remove those broken WvWvW dailies, which can no longer be completed.

I would like to start by asking why such item is behind paywall when it clearly gives clear advantage to some1?

I bought prints using WVW badges and used wood + mithril from synthesizers and salvage I get in WVW, bought tomes with spirit shards which came from playing WVW. I am now currently sitting on about 80ish superior shield generators. Didn’t pay a single copper. So what paywall ? W T F are you tripping on ? What paywall ?
Shield Generators are not usable by players who don’t have HoT.
If you have only the Core Game, you can’t interact with the Generator.
The server calculations are for a long period of time so you can’t “fool it” by not playing wvw for a few weeks, it needs ~1month to adjust to heavy population changes.
Anet doesn’t notify about server status changes as they did not change them themselves, but the algorithm does (well, in theory anyway, if that’s the truth or not is unknown, as they did not tell us the algorithm ’cos then we would try to manipulate it).
The problem is that even if you have only a big Eotm/pve population, if they come into wvw for dailies which can’t be completed in pve/eotm, they’ll be counted as active… Even if that’s only 10 min Gathering-runs on the map or kill a Veteran/Get a Ruin…
Hmm… I have around 300 tickets.. but no HoT so whatever :P
You can’t put marks on the GM to give it a more general options, because marks = staff, which isn’t going to be universal, it has the same issues that a utility-specific GM would have.
TBH you do have one mark in Blood Magic line, tho dunno if a GM trait as an enhancement for a 8 sec recharge dodge-trait is a good idea or not…

I did not get what I wanted, what kind of “we” are you talking about?
I wanted a pve-less, easy-to-travel around map without “fun to fight” npcs and ledges.
You can come to SFR by paying for the transfer with Gems (real money or Gold). OR you can choose a new home server for free if you delete all of your characters (you keep items in your bank, currencies and unlocks), this is what I did because I only had one character… :P
SFR is still full, you can’t transfer there.
Afaik Masteries are disabled in WvW, ofc it’s not working.
Was even more funny with the previous mission. We did the personal score one with 2 teams, as we had 7 ppl to do it we split up 3-4..
We got the mission reward during the match, some ppl from one team some from the other, but not everyone as not everyone contributed yet (you can easily have 0 personal score during the first team-wipe at mid even if you win the match later) so we ran the missions later again so everyone got both rewards.
Pretty Quaggan design, if you have 30 min to do it why not wait until the 30 min is over so everyone can get their rewards?
It is not a melee weapon.
It’s a 1200 ranged weapon.
The problem is that “only” skill 1, 3, 4 are “usable” from range.
2 is easily dodged when used from range, 5 doesn’t even have the 1.2k range nor does it have enough knockback distance to help the AA produce better DPS, it’s more of an “AoE” interrupt/anti-SR skill (which is awesome btw!).
So a lot of ppl are using GS in melee and not “as intended” range weapon, and then the AA seems rather weak even if it’s superb used from range (and I would not change it as it’s really great).
And then you would have ppl complaining about “p2w” as you can’t use gliders without HoT but you can play DBL without it.
I think they should change it to daily Underwater kills (25) and daily Quaggan killer (50).

Our 3 man guild-party just got the reward for the mission, we took a camp and “upgraded it” (ala afk in the camp) for ~8 mins then suddenly we got the reward.. So it’s bugged some way for sure.
(We took a camp before but forgot to start the mission, so we went to the other camp, started the mission, took it then went to afk.. Now either the old camp’s upgrade was down or the new one’s was somehow “faster”, but either way it has some bug
)
For me, it’s still not working.
Tried with Sigil in main-hand, in off-hand, in 2-handed weapon, it does not give me any swiftness/quickness when going into/leaving DS.
But switching to it works with normal weapon swap.
SFR had 0 Q during reset, now we have awesome ~9-10 man Q on SFR BL.

In sPvP you can unlock them for ~5g and you don’t even need HoT for it.
Dunno about pve/wvw, prolly some random HoT recipe in the jungle or elite-spec mastery track..
Maybe ’cos they removed the stunbreak from swap?

Sword: So we can’t swap under stun, or we can swap but we’re still stunned (ala phase retreat?)
Today during the few matches I played I felt like it’s like Phase Retreat, you can swap but will remain stunned.

OH-sword has the niche of “interrupting all of the rezzers”, not only 2. (And if you’re running CI, it’ll immob all of them for ~2 second, easy to down all of them then ^^ )
And the block can crit for 4-5k, which is really nice.. Too bad it’s easy to dodge
The difference is that a few hundred posters, at best, complaining about this in EotM, yet thousands of players jump in and play EotM every week.
Let’s remove every reward from wvw and eotm for a week.
Let’s check “THE DATA” from both game modes.
I believe you would see empty EotM and maybe less ppl in WvW.
If it is true, then EotM players are not there for EotM but for rewards, making them not relevant.
Necromancer minions don’t contribute to the profession’s mechanic (death shroud).
They do?
They give Life Force to the Necromancer on death which fuels Death Shroud, so they “contribute to the profession’s mechanic”, even if less than clones to our shatters ( even tho afaik shattering was counterproductive with clone-death traits).
