I didn’t say they would?
Easy there, I was agreeing with your post, especially the lack of being crippled part
Changing more skills to also remove movement impending condis could work, or reducing the amount of mobs in PvE that apply movement impairing conditions and instead give them damaging conditions. its less annoying on players (since you won’t be crippled so much), and also makes core Tyria just a bit harder without really changing anything since its the same amount of condis that have always been applied.
In my mind that makes it a win for everyone.
Edit – To add to this topic, I find this more aggravating in the 2 new zones than in core tyria. In Ember Bay, it feels like every destroyer applies at least 1 condition with every attack (with the crabs applying 1/4 sec of immobilize with every other attack on top of the burning). This makes it no fun to me. No amount of cleanses can keep up with that for very long since new condis are applied every attack. Its just boring and I hope that this trend does not continue
Pretty sure no one would miss cripple
Your “shoehorn a race” into the game isn’t what people want from a new race. No matter how you state it or how you portray it.
A lot of people keep involving personal story and starter zones to a new race. You dont seem to get it at all. A new race would never get a personal story because their introduction to the game would come through the living world episodes….its the most logical way. Anything relating to the reasons why they joined the cause would also be through living world and lore written about the race. As for starter level zones…..that is probably not happening unless they introduce the race in a new continent. You guys need to see the bigger picture. As for voice actors…..that is the least of their worries. Let me explain why. No matter what race you get the script is all the same because you are the main character, UNLESS you’re doing personal story. Since personal story is not logical for a new race, there wont be any problems. The difference in dialogue is minimal and there are plenty of programs that alter a voice to sound like a different person or species.
I think you are the one not getting it. Races have stories and their own cities, not to mention lore and a reason to “be there” Not just a casual introduction through the LS.
The last thing this game needs is redoing an old system

GW1 had “tusked howlers” so maybe some were brought to Tyria from Kourna and released into the wild?
Affectionately known by me and someone special as “the poo flingers”
You’re not the only people to call them that…..
Nooo stop tarnishing my cherished GW1 memories :P
I like things the way they are now.

we had a special duo build for farming Sunspear points and them. Good times!
For once, OP makes a topic I can completely agree with.
This lol
I think 5 is a good number. A “main” a “personal” and 3 others. Shovels are not “that” rare of a drop, just be active and run around a lot! Have a good one!
I appreciate Dulfy, and thank her for her time. As others have said “Don’t wanna know, don’t go read up on it”
Thread quality around here is going down a slippery slope.
That was a fantastic read
I just had to crinkle in your keyboards
I cannot play in the open world content without falling asleep. I would love if there was anything at all to spice things up. Here’s some suggestions:
1. An invisable superspeed trashmob that takes 20+ people to kill and roams around the zone, invading people’s tushes, one shotting them and maybe cursing them.
2. Open world pvp. Do whatever you want to encourage friendly behavior, buff non theives, whatever. Disable wvw for like 1 hour every 8 hours and enable open world pvp for an hour or something.
3. Let people do maplestory style trashmob summoning. I want to be able to summon like 17 leaf archer guys in a safe area. C’mon it’s like 300 copper to res. Disable it in the 1-15 zones, the mists and the main city if you want.So much of the map is being wasted by not spicing things up IMO.
This does not represent the type of game play I would like to see come to GW2.
I would enjoy having an item like this.
Would not buy, in fact it would be the final nail for me
I would love to see more dynamic weather of appropriate types on all maps.
In favor of keeping it like it is, for already stated reasons.
This is not something I would ever support.
hope it isn’t real
Fine, carry on turning this forum into a dumpster fire.
What about dungeon cutscenes? Gotta be the biggest “did nobody test this before implementing it” parts of the game. Sitting there for about a minute each time, waiting for one guy to finish watching a slow, badly written, badly voiced cutscene of some simplistic dialogue every single time you do a run…it’s incredible.
The only option is to not skip them, and cringe yourself inside out in the process…or to wait at every interval for that one guy.
Some of us care.
Yes, and I totally disagree with the “badly” being thrown about like that. Pretty lame if you ask me.
The cutscenes feel like i’m watching a cartoon. That’s how bad the writing is. Mix that with voice acting that’s for the most part awful, and you’ve got a recipe for disaster.
Even if the cutscenes were wonderful, why would i want them on every run?The only thing worse than waiting around for that one guy to finish watching a cutscene before you can proceed is having to wait for that one guy before you can LEAVE, because he’s watching the lengthy end-of-dungeon cutscene, and the reward won’t pop till he’s done.
Let’s see your cutscenes, hear your voice acting, so we can critically dissect them…
You can try harder than that, surely?
I can but not feeling very well today. The point still stands though regardless of your deflection.
“This is a problem with the game”
“Ok let’s see you do better”That’s not a “point”; THAT is deflection. The cutscenes are bad and shouldn’t be forced because they make dungeon runs with pugs painfully long with pointless waiting.
If you want to pay me as a professional writer to come up with something better, then sure thing…but it still doesn’t solve the problem of them being forced.
I would like to see them made skippable too , but I am not sitting here crapping all over the devs and voice actors work.

Last time I checked we were 2/6 for elder dragons?
Primordus ,Deep sea dragon, Jormag, Zhaitan, Kralkatorrik, Mordremoth
(edited by CMM.6712)
I would love to see some sort of mini dungeon, fractal, guild mission… whatever
with some sort of vehicle combat.
If they would finally release the new legendaries, that would be great
Yep I would love to see what the new rifle will be like.
Loot is fine it is not meant to be that great. I would like to see a title for having all of the JP completed.
I agree with both of your points.
Duelling, thats what WvW and PvP is for.
Gear Checking is pretty much a funeral for any game.
And the third suggestion comes dangerously close to the territory of mounts whose horse is about as necrotic as the lich by now.In the universe of GW(2) there are only a few types of mounts I would approve of: Junundu Wurms.. oh look at that, it’s only one mount I would approve of
What you don’t like
https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Siege_Devourer_ ?
I would love to see these added in game! I used to love outside city dueling in Wildstar and WoW, and I think it would be really benificial in bringing the community more together. Sure we do have costume brawls, which are a lot of fun, but idk maybe add some more costume weapons like the two-handed axe?
Inspections would be really useful because a lot of times I see someone with some amazing gear and I think “Ooh what is that”, but usually when I whipser them to ask they ignore me :/ Inspections please!
We have a magic carpet, we have a broom, can we have a char themed motor bike, or an asura hoverboard? Let me know what you guys think!(Also, keep your “go play wow” statements to yourself, cause wow isnt the only mmo with these features you kittens)

HoT maps may have been smaller when viewed from the world map but they had considerably more going on within them than core maps.
True, but some players like to explore larger zones, that also have less mob density. Personally I don’t mind the HoT zones, but I still believe that having a variety of different zone structures is best. Having every new zone be a dense meta map can get repetitive if done too much. These kinds of maps also compete with each other for players who want to choose a meta to run at a certain time. If you introduce too many, you will dillute the population too much to complete some of them. In HoT release every single map was a dense meta map, which was a mistake in my opinion.
Yeah. It doesn’t hurt to have variety.
Variety for the win
Please explain how the Trick or Treat back is useful? Remember it is only 1 single bag, not the hundreds you get during the Mad King week. After that… I don’t need 1 bag.
A Trick or Treat bag contains items which can be used or sold.
A Trading Post Express or Bank Access token is a junk item that gets thrown into a stack that is never used or tossed completely.
Ergo, Trick or Treat bag is more useful.
That is where we disagree, I and others DO use them, just because you don’t, don’t meant they aren’t useful or being used.
And now you understand why the reason you think the change was awful does not resonate with everyone else. Some people prefer it the way it is now because different people find different things useful.
Sure I get it, we are all different. But one stinking bag? How do people think it is ok to let this stand? Baffles the mind.
If anything we should get a choice like the monthly login chest.
The every 2 week thing was unsustainable , but it sure was fun!

That is what I don’t understand… who thought that ONE seasonal item would be a good idea, when most players have a large supply of them, or CAN EASILY. “Oh here is another one” Not cool. Give me something that doesn’t feel like a slap or a kick.
(aside from being a +1 bonus as it used to be, which I do support)
So now instead of at least getting something useful, even if another trading post express or Bank access item…we get a completely useless bag of Halloween junk that you can’t even sell on the Trading Post??
Thank you for informing me of this change.
I had been spending $60-$100 a month on Gems, of which a good portion went to BLTC keys so I could get boosts, teleport to friend, and occasional nice skins. This change just cut the odds on getting any of those.
Sorry Anet, this move just lost you a player that was willing to spend a lot of cash each month… I am not paying for junk items I don’t need or can’t sell.
A Trick or Treat Bag is millions of times more useful than a Trading Post Express or Bank Access item.
No, it isn’t.
The way veterans are treated at times.
The shameless money grabs.
The inconsistency.
RNG.
Lack of communication.
Thus eliminating me ever buying a key again. Sad how people just “take it”
I like my rifle. Molon Labe.
This has been brought up many many times, and I still don’t agree. If you want to play the game play the game. The era of participation trophies is coming to end, thankfully.
Urgoz from Cantha was a hunter, he could have the shortbow. We could see things like splinter weapon and vampire weapon skills from ritualist come back. Maybe even turret like ghosts?!
Yes please
After 5 years, they should be made available to buy for something like 200 to 400 gems each directly from the wardrobe based on their demand. The cheapest would be the ones less people bought, the most expensive would be the ones more people bought.
You just click the icon in the wardrobe, pay the gem price, get the skin. Ding.
Why 5 years? So people get to enjoy exclusivity for that time. 5 years is more than enough to show off a pretty skin. After that, it’s time to switch to the next model if you want to show off something, let the rest of the kids enjoy them too without having to grind keys or spend fortunes in freaking RNG key or depend on people selling them in the trading post.
