@echo I don’t really care about the price of ectos, they could be low or high for all I care. But I just don’t understand why some of the people in this thread are so insistent as to why they need to be a high value item. That just doesn’t make sense to me, I see it as people just picking an item and deciding it should be expensive because they like the portrait icon it has.
@Vadeil made a good point, but I still don’t understand the people in this thread who are convinced they need to be expensive just cause “its ecto lul duh”
You probably didn’t play GW1 did you?
This is the perfect of example of what I would NOT like to see come to GW2.
Yes. I like foods. Harvesting it to craft. Crafting it. Using it improve my build. I would like to see an easier way to equalize times with utilities.
Anet could also consider to nerf the ecto salvage rate from 0.9 to 0.7 per salvage
How about not?
uhhh what

How about adding the gliding skills which we had to purchase in Bloodstone Fen into new maps, such as Ember Bay and whatever else comes after that? Doesn’t even need to be retroactively added to Tyria/HoT maps.
I agree, I hoped the glider combat skills would be usable wherever it is possible to glide. I hope that is what happens eventually.
+1 to fix the leak on the airship
It was enjoyable to me to do quests to acquire a new skill and continue the quest to upgrade that skill and make it a bit more powerful or to have a new effect.
Even new cosmetic effects to skills would be cool, I think.
The new story has filled me with, a new hope. Hope that there will be an epic tale to be sung by the skaalds and bards of Tyria. A tale they shall recount in, A Song of Ice and Fire.
+1 for Star Wars reference!
I get annoyed enough by Charr wings blocking my view of things, the last thing I want is someone’s sparkle pony butt in my face when I am trying to use the bank. Or see the bad guy… or see anything for that matter.
That really is the worst reason not to have mounts. Crap will always be blocking your banker either way.
Miniatures already get hidden in a full map. Mounts would just make it worse being bigger and more obtrusive. I can’t see how implementing them into the current game would be good.
I am not completely against them, and I do think they would be fun/collectible etc. etc.
I just don’t think it is a good idea as things are now, my opinion.
Interesting thoughts, it implemented properly I think it would be pretty cool. Anything to make a living world more living would be a plus in my opinion.

…to be able to get around at an acceptable pace.
That right there is the problem. Acceptable is a subjective and dynamic term. I feel like I move far too slowly travelling from the MF to the crafting area with my 33% movement buff. It’s a feeling of not being there yet. Increasing the “standard” speed won’t ever get rid of that feeling.
Mounts won’t solve the problem. They’ll just move the goalposts.
That’s an overly philosophical reply and it doesn’t really relate to this tbh. You’re saying that if I start getting somewhere twice as fast then I’d start to want to get there twice as fast again? No, I’m not trying to leet my way through the grind with super speed and constantly keep getting faster. I just don’t want to go so slow that I’m bored and right not it is too slow. It really is that simple. In comparison to most other zoned or open world games, it feels sluggish and is less fun.
Would you by any chance be playing a Norn?
No, I’m playing Charr and Human most of the time. I know the animations for the larger races make it feel even slower but overall that’s not where the problem is.
Fair enough. Well maybe make a tiny Asura when you are feeling sluggish!

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhnoooooooooooo
You are largely limiting yourself by only playing one character, you are missing out on a lot of content, including story line, lore, skins and rewards. You have open slots available it sounds like, my advice would be to use them and enjoy content you haven’t seen.
Legendary shotgun

I thought the ability to buy the wood was a once daily reward for repeating the heart?
My army of alts enjoys my shared inventory slots, permanent gathering tools, and copper-fed/silver-fed salvage-o-matic very much.
except players without the mastery trained get an advantage in certain situations. training the mastery sacrifices the ability to glide through ley lines
It is recommended to get the mastery , it’s fun!
I crafted 3 Ascended armor sets, one in each weight, and all of the Ascended weapons, including under water, with duplicates of axe, sword, pistol, dagger so I can double up if wanted. It took forever and cost me a lot of gold and time but it was worth it.
It makes going through the LS with alts a breeze.
Basically I can do anything with anything character, and with the new maps trinkets and back ability to change, just makes it that much easier.

-The Mursaat need to stop being imobile and start patrolling in groups like the ones in GW1, and theres alot of stationary ones…. WTH?
I would love to see players start payign atention to the sorrounding like we had on gw1, engage or be sneaky arround the groups.
This ^^^^^^
Okay, it’s a bit of a bait here and quite a long shot, but still. Given the Mechanic from a certain Story Quest, it would be possible to design something like this. Would you like to see something like this? A possibility to fight people from your Server without beeing in sPVP?
For the story in a small sequence fine, all the time? Heck no.
My advice would’ve been to not use the boost and play the game instead. Maybe start an alt.
But the PvE is still bad, and I’ve already finished the story missions for it!
Let me guess, you rushed through everything instead of experiencing everything.
Some posters just come here to constantly complain, maybe that is what is going on with them.
I thought the map was really fun, I finished the story on my main, still intend to run through it on alts just for fun and loot.
I like it, a commander COMMANDING. Glad he isn’t acting like a chump anymore.

-1 Do not agree.
She stole the egg… she deserves the lack of trust.

You are meant to look like a Mursaat. Shoulders and all.
I love the new map , ley line gliding especially. I like the come back of hearts. I like the sunsets. I love the “new” feel to it and the nod to Guild Wars 1. I don’t like that I can’t find a Skritt to revive anywhere…
Skrits are not dead, look for Passed out skrits
Thanks to an awesome guildie I found them, after chasing around the Disillusioned Skritt for an hour or so (not getting credit for reviving them! ARGH!

No thanks.
i only sell the yellow equipment in the TP, I find the rest to be not worth the 2-3 silver they’re sold for.
This reminds me of… but Santa I don’t like presents…
russian doll bags? the ones filled with more and more items?
A bag in a bag with a bag in it.
I mostly like loot the way it is now, it is better than it used to be. The only thing mildly annoying to me is the Russian doll bags, but that is a dead horse.

I’m not sure you understand what it is, if you insist on calling it “nonsense.” (And I don’t know what you mean by “Keyboard Warrior” — is that supposed to be a bad thing? Most players use the keyboard in computer games; that’s one of the genre’s big advantages over
consoles.).
The rest of your post was awesome too, but I want to point this part out and say you rock!

Thread necroing aside, there are plenty of ways to make gold in this game now, in fact better than it has ever been.
It’s your right not to. Form your own group and play how you want. BUT don’t force others to play your way either… see how that works?
Excelsior.
The thread creator allows EVERYONE to play the way they want – INCLUDING meta builds.
The meta sheeps however scrap that idea. So what is your point again against the TC?
My point was made in my post, and still stands. Name calling a segment of players isn’t helpful to anyone.
No, but the quartz crystal node does give those quartz crystals, which are essential for precursor crafting and a lot of armor insignia (celestial, etc.) My point was just that (as the OP stated), it would be nice if it would rely on map currency rather than gold and that Roundabout’s statement that it was dirt cheap isn’t necessarily true for all players.
Well I guess both are a means to an “Ascended” end. Just one that needs crafting, a time gate if you will… and one a currency gate.
The bloodstone gets you account bound best of stats/slot items that has the ability to be changed up, like a legendary, at very little cost.
All the other living story-related nodes were free, and even bought via laurel vendor I’m pretty sure they don’t cost 50g.
It’s way too much for a mediocre node.
Not mediocre, we already discussed this.
The other nodes don’t give you currency to get an Ascended back, rings, and amulet.
Perhaps, one could consider the items cost Gold, and using Map Currency discounts the item greatly. =)
As another poster stated; Nodes usually cost quite a bit of Gold, so this one was a great deal!
Exactly, the Ascended trinkets and back that can be bought with the rubies are really useful. You can do literally nothing but farm home instance daily and obtain them. That’s pretty awesome.

Ha ha! Never knew how to pronouce Aatxe; I just call them A-Tax. Lol.
Wish I could tally have many I exterminated, I was a bane to their existence from 55 monk to Spirit spammer rit!
