I’m still halway to get the unlimited gliding.. sooo loong to get the exp for it! I can’t even begin to think how long ley line gliding will take :S

It’s really not that bad, use some exp booster, eat food with 15% exp from kills, use utility, use lunar new year firework. Explore on a character that hasn’t explored HoT yet, use the story and meta exp rewards, get creative, it does not take long.

I agree there are alot of really cool people here playing. I have faith in some players, but when people are posting lines like
“Sorry if I don’t want to drag around someone else’s sorry kitten because they play content way above their skill level”
It’s very clear what they would utilize an inspect tool for.

inspect tool or not, those people will always have their ways of weeding out the not optimized players. IMO an inspect tool would do more good than harm or at the very least be something most would enjoy whether or not they agree with its implementation.

They should already be in the game, especially inspection.

Inspection would help many raid leaders, and the community as a whole, they could form pugs easier and give hints to people if they see something wrong with their builds for the comp they’re building.

If nothing else, the Trading Post eliminates most trading spam. Thank goodness. The game is better off without any Spamadams.

GW1 automatically put all trade spam into the trade channel, you could just turn that kitten off.

Also to the response above that people still got scammed… once again I say…. How? All anet has to do is auto direct all support requests about trade scams to the trash because its hilariously bad if you get scammed with such a system.

I played GW1, since alpha. Now that we’re passed the nonsense I can say with 100% certainty that if you turned the trade channel off there was hardly any spam.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the kids in here insisting, were also the ones scamming in GW1. Why else would you throw such a fit? Its possible to p2p trade with friends through game mail. The BLTC is MUCH MUCH better than the chat spam of Kamadan. The BLTC has what you need to buy, when you need it, no standing around waiting for just the right person, and no spamming ’til you sell what you needed to.

if both players agreed to it it’s not a scam. it’s a trade. if one player isn’t paying attention and the other player takes advantage of it it’s the first players problem and fault.

Yes and people have issues paying attention and that creates a problem for customer support, which is unwanted. There is no reason to RE-implement a system where it is possible to scam others. The system was the root of the problem. Eliminating the possibility of scamming is a win for everyone.

p2p trading wouldn’t have any risks attached to them (at least for people who pay attention) if there was a p2p trading system like a simply trade window in which both players have to confirm their transaction. yes, here and there people who don’t pay attention at all would be scammed but that’s their fault. however, as simple as it would be to implement such a system (i bet nowadays ever 12 year old kid knows how to program such a thing) it will never happen because anet needs to remove gold from the economy through tp taxes to counter inflation (not that i would work, but kudos for trying).

One of the biggest problems I see with people today is lack of attention span and paying attention. It would be even worse than it was back in GW1. Thus creating a support nightmare. I highly doubt that a p2p system will ever be installed, the bltc is the evolution.

If you buy any of the unlimited use items for anything but convenience you are doing it wrong. I don’t think the break-even point will be in my lifetime. But convenient they are and I have one for each slot. And, the watchwork, because it returns sprockets is BiS. But, the sprockets return is not going to make you rich. In the grand scheme of things it will be entirely insignificant. So, we’re back to the convenience. Man, are they convenient. (They really are.)

I agree with 99% of what you said, except for “entirely significant” if one does a lot of mining, then one has a lot of sprockets. It can be a nice side source of income for those that enjoy harvesting nodes. Not amazing, but certainly not insignificant either.

Worth it.

Yes please, trinkets and back pieces both, and nothing weird or more expensive than the armor or weapon recipes.

For instance I have a sorta friend who has Spark that I’m wanting to buy from him but since I’ve played Eve Online I’ve grown to trust absolutely no one in any online game when it comes to anything currency related.

I’m talking the straight up transaction here, and it is exactly that: straight up.)

With the advent of the TP, and with all the security that it gives, are you willing to risk a P2P trade? If you are, I sincerely hope that all goes well for you, that you get the item you paid for, and everyone is happy. If it does not, we will not and actually cannot get involved, for a variety of reasons that involve not indicting innocent players who may get caught, tangentially, in P2P trading. (If I have to go into details, I will, but I imagine someone else already has and in my haste to offer advice, I didn’t see it yet. )

So, for trading, I offer my oft-given advice: Choose wisely.

I gave up trust on the TP when my friend lost his Legendary Sunrise off the trading post after canceling the posting and after contacting support they said, he never had it, they can’t tell that he ever had it or made it or have any log of it in the game. So yes, Choose wisely how you trade.

Sorry, but with all the things Anet tracks, and metrics they have I highly doubt that story is true.

Background tasks, others on the same wifi (Netflix!!) are notorious for slowing things down.
Streamlining services, scheduled tasks, AV scans and the like are highly recommended, not saying you haven’t OP but just trying to help you brainstorm.

My game experience is nothing like yours, and my rig is not even close to as good. Not sure what to tell you.

I definitely missed (ahem) the Mists Stone. Unfortunately that’s in addition to a +5 ascended infusion needed to produce the Destroyer Heated Stone .

tl;dr you need two things associated with fractals

• The Mists Stone, which requires obtaining 5 fractal relics (can be done with a single fractal, depending on the level)
• +5 (ascended) agony infusion — can be bought on the TP or earned (also possible with a single instance, although not as easy as above)

Haha woops looks like I overlooked needing the infusion as well as the mists stone! It’s been a while since I crafted it!

They add up if you do a lot of mining. With 10 characters a farming run of the common rich plat and iron nodes can net a couple gold. It’s not amazing but it certainly helps, especially if you already have crafted a spinal blades back piece.
