While I can empathize with a lot of the things already mentioned – map verticality, power creep (especially power creep), short lack luster story, etc…
My biggest fear is timers. More maps that are just one big event timer. Ugh.
You just hit the nail right on the head for me, I hate timers more than anything else in this game. I am considering time gates a part of that as well.
Looking back at GW1:Factions and all of the timed missions and sneering.
If SW was on a set timer, then I would be upset with the removal of some of the drops. Since it’s based on how well the map is doing, I’m okay with it getting some drops changed.
Well I would venture to say that most people are NOT okay with these type of nerfs! As stated above… Anet did you not learn from the dungeon nerfs. STOP SHOOTING YOURSELF IN THE DANG FOOT!
Butt Capes. Just say no (more)
Oh hell no.
Engi is my main and I haven’t really had an issue. This thread reminds me of a Russian(?) singer with a song with no words.
I prefer horses with no names.
Haha but are they dead horses? That is the question. I thought those were the only kind of horses in Tyria.

Eduard Anatoljewitsch Chil was indeed Russian.
Haha what a name I never knew that! Too bad I can’t have an engi named that!

No.
I wish they would find a way to make the raid content available to the casual to mid-skill player while keeping the raid style for the players that like it. Basically a explorable PvE mode instance for the raid maps. That way both types of players could have access to the content that is important to the story of the game and the high strung players wouldn’t freak about players who don’t meet their expected skill/build level.
The maps are there, the contents is there, it’s a matter of presenting it in another way…
This, a million times this. This would make a lot of people happy I’d wager. Are you paying attention Anet?
I think they are pretty cool, but it seems (to me) kinda wasted on a small-ish percentage of the player base. Assuming you’re talking about the raid stuff.
I want to be excited but it’s possibly content I will never play. LS3 is what I am looking forward to and it seems like it has been forever since LS2.
Not just seems like a bad idea, IS a bad idea.
After 3+ years i have no idea. Or how to report blackmailers in pvp. Or how to report a person without any weapons in pvp. Reporting in pvp is still just a big mystery to me too buddy.
Blackmailers? I don’t PvP, so can I trouble you to explain this one to me?
Well sometimes people on your team threaten not to play unless you send them xy amout of gold.
LOL I have not run into that one yet.
The achievement rewards have been lackluster since they removed the PVP skins from them. They could definitely use a boost in awesomeness , in my opinion.
Are people actually completely overlooking how useful the Shared Slot Bag is?
For people who primarily just play one main character, it has very little use. It’s one bonus slot and nothing more if you play no other characters. Everyone is different. Everyone has different needs.
That’s why ANet needs to learn how to implement OPTIONS… something they almost always seem unable or unwilling to do for some reason.
Yep it baffles the mind they haven’t figured out OPTIONS are the best course of action every time.
I’d like to see the infinite gathering tools converted into a single set of unlimited gathering tool items and a gathering tool skin
e.g.
Unlimited Harvesting Sickle
Unlimited Mining Pick
Unlimited Logging AxeFused Molten Sickle Skin
Tireless Harvesting Minion Skin
.. and so onThey could then sell the Unlimited tools in the Gem Store for one price, and the skins for another.
That’s a really good idea.
Edited to add: I want to keep the functionality I have, and the skins I have already “unlocked”.

One way to make it good for all is make it so all races/classes can learn all racial skills. make it into an almost quest or something learning the skills other races have. Then they can be made good skills with no worries.
So as to not make it too much for utility slots you can only equip one set of racial skills at a time or something.
Yeah that’s how it is in GW1. With acquisition by gaining faction or being able to go to an outpost and buy it from a trainer or doing a quest or questline or a mission and the skill is the part of the reward.
I like the idea, it would be a nod back to GW1 as well. +1
Probably every gold selling whisper (which is a large block list full) I have ever got is from them. You would think they would not be around any more. Hmmm.
Edited to add: nearly every one has happened in the PVP Lobby, but not all of them.

There have been several the past few days, but I didn’t notice any on the front page, was kinda surprised actually.
In my experience, you get more opening the bags, since there are linen scraps and rugged leather in the drop table.
Without a doubt with the abundance of threads the players are going to force Anet to respond, probably swiftly.
What profession would I like to see in the next expansion you say?
Completely agree and would love to see a QOL update to the Mystic Toilet.
Let’s play detective!
Alright! I’ll be Marjory!
Duhuhuh if you’re Marjory, you gotta let me give you a kiss!…
Literally 5 seconds later
Let’s play dete~POW!! You shut your stupid mouth!
That bit of dialogue is like the super banana of dialogue.
Put me in the yes please category.
What does 2 characters forced love story/dialogue/background have to do with killing elder dragons?
What does the Player Character’s upbringing, college of choice, first invention, vision in the dream, or warband choice have to do with killing elder dragons? Not much, but it adds flavor, side-stories, and details. A story without little details like that really isn’t much of a story.
A lot more than some background characters. The player character is something I want to know about though. Forced story/dialogue about background characters don’t spice anything up they make it taste like crap. … and yeah since this is a bait thread it’s time to move on.

100% agenda. I stopped watching mainstream tv because of the blatant sexuality thrown in my face in every show, commercial and etc. Tired of it. ~2% of the population constantly complaining to the other 98%. I play GW2 to get away from the BS.
Don’t see any need for the idea or the thread. The forced agenda storylines and dialogue are frankly one of the worst things about GW2 as far as I am concerned.
I changed my mind… I won’t -1 after all, but don’t think I am going to +1 just because you are being clever!
Where’s that -1 button when ya need it??
Yay! you spent money, here’s some achievement points. Hardly call that worthy of an achievement.
Well, that was precisely how the thirst slayer achievement was gotten in GW1. Along with sweet tooth, and others. IDK… I’m not trying to cheapen it, just don’t want carpal tunnel syndrome either. There is A LOT of clicking in this game. ANY relief would be a good thing, not sure that anyone would see changes like that as a negative.
Well, red meat and leather are already in game… throw in some chickens with the poultry and feathers… just call me Farmer Engie!
oh and while we are at it can we plz SHUT UP THAT SUPER BANANA omg its so loud and so consistent like every 5 secodns BOO BOO BEE BOO BEE BOOP , BOO BEE BOO BEE BEE BOOP
Easily the most obnoxious and annoying sound in the game.
My solution (implemented before gliding was a thing) was to make my mouse wheel click “jump”.
In my opinion, the achievement part should be spending the gold/karma necessary not destroying hand health.
I’ll second this, the exact reason I stopped going for that achievement was because my right hand was cramping up.
What fails miserably is the negativism (being negative just for the sake of being negative) and the same old complain to complain posters and their provocative titles, trolling for attention.
The scaling is here to stay and I’m glad, it enhances the game for me.
I’m not sure what you mean, but I am not being negative in any way. I want to re-vamp the mechanics of the game (which I enjoy playing). Why? To enjoy it even more
Well, it seems the majority of posters like scaling, and are against your proposed revamp. Seems “that other game” is including it as well. This game is the anti-MMO MMO.

Seems like there was a “Heart of Maguuma” (I think it was called) miner gathering daily in there, but no home instance there.
I do like having new dailies to do, but not necessarily at the expense of the old ones. But if you belong to a guild and they have a GH with the mat nodes, those do count. Did that last night.
Oh yeahhhh I forgot about that, thanks for the reminder!
Some maps, especially Bloodtide have a lot of underwater ore nodes to gather from. I have found a good place to level is in Mount Maelstrom and the yellow underwater mobs. Pretty much anywhere in Orr is good for underwater combat.
I personally love the underwater parts and wish they’d be expanded upon.

He is saying there hasn’t been a gathering daily since. Krytan you go to Divinity’s Reach home instance to do your daily. Ascalon to Black Citadel. Maguuma Jungle go to Rata Sum. These not coming up lessens the value of bought items.
Yeah? Well, I don’t understand why this hasn’t been merged with the mega thread.
The name is lame, for the sake of the game, don’t keep it the same.
I main engineer and have no issues post patch. I enjoy having the new supply crate turrets effects and buttons. I thought my build would be gutted by the grenade range change, but it’s not that bad. Blazed thru SW’s to see how my build would fare, and I am not disappointed. Definitely not a close range player and doing fine.
Again, you can’t buy this level of bad press. Anyone who can’t see ANet dropped the ball, in a big way, at this point is just kidding themselves.
I am not going to bash Anet, but I am gonna say for as many people and sites and now a major magazine to take notice of this situation, it shows that there is a problem, and can’t just be brushed aside and disappeared.
I have been a fan of Anet and the Guild Wars franchise for 10+ years and I am not going to give up on them by any means, I just wish they would take better care of the people that got them where they are. I also wish the fans would take better care of them too. It stinks to see all the hate, and I refuse to participate in that. I will just bide my team and see how it plays out. Pretty sure I will be buying the expansion, the only questions are when and how much.
Sounds like the Sims…….
Exploration is one of my favorite things about this game. Yet more proof this forum needs a -1 button under the +1 button.
