People are really asking to receive less rewards?
I like the way it is now, and receive the rewards per character.
It’s more that they want the rewards sooner, because they carelessly deleted a character.
In the world of Guild Wars? Never delete your first character, and never delete anything, it
always comes back around to bite you, every single time.
No, it should be how it has always been, by character creation date.
Don’t care about colors and effects, very much care about customization and QoL.
you know the problem about discussions like this, there is always someone that talks like “but my guild did make it so…”
no matter how many guilds have this problem, there is always someone who tries to talk it down as if every single guild can do the exact same thing.let me get ppl out of their dream world, not every single guild works the same.
just because your guild did it doesn’t mean all guilds are able, it doesn’t work that way.
and don’t get the whole “join a different guild” because that’s like saying “if you don’t like that one thing your friend said, find different friends”
ppl might have a 3 man guild as friends, they want a guild for their own reasons.the way it is now only a minimum size guild of 10+ can get it, 5+ only with full dedication, if that is what it takes to get a guild hall them the design is flawed.
made for the addicted rather then the fun players….Likewise, simply because some guilds haven’t pulled it off doesn’t mean the current system is bad or needs to be changed. As others have stated,
- Benefits are permanent.
- Costs are fixed.
- Ordinary buffs and many features are free to use (or re-use).
So it comes down to a matter of perspective: are guild halls meant to be part of active play? or are they supposed to serve as a sort of “substitute player housing” and be easier for tiny guilds to build?
As in many other elements of the game, ANet seems to be moving in the direction of promoting active game play. As with any transition, not everyone is happy with the change (and it doesn’t help that ANet hasn’t really explained their thinking on this).
How are you getting that smaller guilds being able to reasonably make a guild hall through playing the game actively rather than forgoing active play by, e.g., logging in and out of alts for 40 minutes a day or gem-to-golding to buy mats as somehow not promoting active play. It sounds like you’re attacking members of smaller guilds because you don’t have a rational argument.
Sounds like someone is being a little sensitive, no one was attacking you. I have never seen her attack anyone here on the forums.
Nope.
What about Elona? Cantha?
Exactly, and a video game, or a video game forum isn’t (in my opinion) the place to debate it. I’d venture to say most play games to escape reality.
I play this game as an escape, and to avoid the politics.
Reading comprehension alert. Funny to see who doesn’t read a threads previous posts. Send this to the necrotic dustbin.
0% care about esports, rather not see the reminders either, I’m with you op. The reminders on the right side of the UI should be able to be dismissed and I thought that since day 1. A reminder is fine, obstructing the screen is not fine.
My vote is for the actual gate in Fields of Ruin. The other gate in LA with the Tengu guarding it would be a nice surprise too though.
I think the character customization options are pretty good, with all the armors and outfits and tonics there are so many things that can be done. What do you feel is missing? What limitations?

<snip> I want anet to expand on musical instruments in game and maybe incorporate that into the lore or levels. Things like dungeon doors where you have to play the tune inscribed on a wall to open them (and you get a free instrument to do that with). Basically what you did with the ocarina in the zelda games.
I love this idea!! Any kind of creative puzzles like this are something I would truly enjoy. Especially something that has to be figured out by the player with no hand holding. Not uber hard, but PUZZLING.
Out of combat sprint system is avoiding combat and dodging instead of running right through the middle of mobs, using terrain to your advantage, gliding. I enjoy the platformer aspect and would love to see underwater areas be expanded on. UI improvements are always welcome and much requested. New trait lines and elite specializations are guaranteed, new professions not so much now that they have 3 of each weight class.
Wow, maybe they decide to put some lore outside raids, so the great majority of the players can enjoy it!
Exactly! (If so) This is just the latest in a string of frustrating decisions by Arenanet.
Don’t know if you’ve looked into how little lore is actually involved in raids. It’s really small. Wood Potatos has a video of the lore for those who want to know. Also you can check, plenty of people will take you into an explored raid instance so you can see the lore for yourself, but it’s nothing to get bent out of shape about.
Heya Vayne, nah not getting bent out of shape. I’d rather be able to do the raid and then see and explore, I just haven’t taken the time to do so (that is on me)
I just don’t want to see the precedent set of having lore and story stuff locked behind a “raid wall” especially if it is something like Cantha or Elona, like I stated earlier. That would truly be upsetting. Something such as that should be available to all players, in my opinion.
I’d be okay with the chance of 1-3 charged when you commune. Maybe add in a rich quartz node or 2 somewhere.

If it makes you feel any better, I don’t have internet so I have to tether my laptop to my phone to play the game at home. But I can only do that so much each month when taking into account my limited dataplan. :P
College life OP
LOL that was another reason I went to my friends! Good times!
Yeah with about 15kb of bandwidth. Updates were a nightmare, I actually took my pc to a friends to get that done. Definitely doable but not really recommended!
I played through my phone for a while, I was able to do dailies and harvest nodes, anything instanced or zerg-related is probably going to end in failure.
This other game has mounts that lets you run or fly by stuff without getting hit.
…
..
.
Yes I know I’m about to get a postal beating for mentioning that. It’s a joke XP
There was once this horse, and people didn’t like it, and well it’s a sad story but there is not much left of the horse now.
Dodge, use terrain to your advantage, glide. It is not that hard.
This is a dodge issue, if you dodge before you get hit you don’t get slowed. Dodge practice is recommended.
Boosters, food, utility. Harvest nodes. Kill yellow mobs (my preference is underwater in Mt. Maelstrom) Grab all poi, vista, waypoints.
Zoom in, you’ll feel like you’re running faster…
Now, Anet, can we please have that -1 button? :P
This.
A new optical mouse is $5-10. I have a tile floor in my gaming area, and tile floors aren’t kind to plastic mice when you drop them.
New skins for the UI , that creates an effect just like the Guardians blue flames on your Spell Bar , or decorate a Silver dragon around your bar .
Or creates effects (flower-tree branches) when you heal , or messages like DOMINATOR when you kill streak .
Or creepy-funny face from the Devs (dressed as clown or a delicious male-curvy Chang e with glasses) . Or their photos when they wheres kids , and let the community to do the guesting-side-project game on the forumsOr Randomly small fast paced animals (squirrels) , that will show up at the edge of the schreen and must click them for rewards . Or they will nod you to follow leading you to an somewhere (while the transision from your schreen to ingame , by breaking the glass …rito plz )
I hope to NEVER see ANY of these included in GW2.
One of my favorite parts about gw1 was that there were rare, exiting items that could drop from anywhere. And in the really difficult areas, the rarity and value of loot scaled accordingly. Its not so in Guild Wars 2.
This is one of the main things that I miss from GW1.
No. Posts like these could make one think there should be a -1 button under the +1 button.
But you can make dough?! JK that is terrible and well sadly, par for the course with non rewarding loot drops from foes.
That’s why I crafted 3 sets of ascended armor, 1 for each weight. Every weapon with duplicates of dagger and axe, and that is enough for me.
I don’t feel the need to grind or pull out the credit card to look good, and I can use the mystic toilet recipe to change the stats if I need to do so. Win win.
I’m with the less clutter the better group.
It will definitely be back, but your guess is as good as mine as to when that is.
If true? Yep just about time to find something else to do with my time and my money.
If you’re into MMO PvE there isn’t anything else except WOW, there’s a few games out there that will keep you entertained for a few weeks but long term they fail 10 times as hard as the top 2.
I know, it is basically do dailies, farm a few nodes and log out. Dying Light has been semi-fun playing in the mean time. It helps liking The Walking Dead.
This has to be one of the most requested features that was not carried over from GW1, and it is baffling why it hasn’t. Be it a programming issue or I have no idea what is holding it back it needs to be a priority.
Far and away more players play PVE than any other format, and it should be the main focus of development time.
Luckily for PvE players, such as myself, this is already the case.
Yes sir, I am one too. I guess the best thing I can say is bring on the hopefully blow me away amazing knock my socks off LS3.
Sorry , but it is abundantly clear to everyone involved that content is lacking and the pacing is not good.
Content is always lacking because content takes a lot of time to make and only little time to play through.
Really? Well aware it takes time to make content, but we see what the raids team can pull off, then it leaves some people scratching their heads.
A close/expand all button would be greatly appreciated.
Far and away more players play PVE than any other format, and it should be the main focus of development time. Lots of slack has been given too, and poor decisions, bad/no communication, and seemingly shady cash grab type situations have had an impact on that. In my mind it is fast approaching time to put up or shut up. If I didn’t care about this game and wasn’t a player for 10+ years I wouldn’t care. I’m here saying such things because I do, and want to see the ship righted.
Small content updates every two weeks was too fast, an expansion every year was not enough content, higher quality content updates every two or three months is too… I don’t know? Too “content progress locking”?
I clearly don’t want to be in Anet’s shoes :/
Sorry , but it is abundantly clear to everyone involved that content is lacking and the pacing is not good.
If the raids end up going to Elona or Cantha without taking along the rest of PVE there is going to be a huge backlash. You heard it here first.
I guess the main thought I have is LS3 better dazzle the kitten out of me. Being a primarily PVE player, my enthusiasm and goodwill is at a 10+ year low.
Gosh guys, really… Wait with the disappointment until you see what’s coming. We wont know how long a chapter is until its here and we wont know what it contains. They might release a whole branch of story every 3 months rather than a small leaf every 2 weeks.
For your own sake, try out some high optimism with low expectations. Enjoy the game as it is or go do something else with your time.
The precedent has been set for low expectations and it wasn’t us guys that set it.
I don’t do PVP or raids (by choice) so the story and PVE content is what I want to see from this game and has been sorely lacking , unfulfilling and the payoff is not worth the wait generally every time. Still love this game, but it is being made hard for me to do so.
If true? Yep just about time to find something else to do with my time and my money.
This thread should be treated as invaluable information to the devs. Highly recommend it be bulletin board material and to be looked over thoroughly.
If I spend real world money, I WANT GUARANTEED RESULTS. Period. I don’t want to gamble with my games to acquire skins.
A million times this.
Biggest fear: All the grumbling here on the forum.
You do realize that forum perusing is optional? It’s not even that bad lately, especially compared to either games.
Sometimes the forums are more entertaining than the game. Folks can get pretty worked up here.
Part of the reason this franchise is so good is the passionate fan base. The forums are an interesting place.

Reading this thread, we understand your questions and want to share a little information: This set is designed to be a special, exclusive set and therefore it’s a little different than most. There are a couple of other interesting factors that you’ll want to know: The set is available for one ticket. It will remain priced at one ticket into the future, so someone who wants it now doesn’t need to be concerned about it becoming unavailable or about it rising in price in the future. Other sets currently available are not account bound, such as the Cavalier Weapon Set which was recently released at a price of 1 Black Lion Claim Ticket and remains at that price now. In addition, we do intend to continue to offer tradeable sets in the future. If you’d like a preview of the new set, go to your bank wardrobe and filter for “Privateer.” We hope this answers your questions, and thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Oh please .. we are not dumb sarah. The weapon is not special at all, it looks like a rushed job designed for testing the players respons to this kind of sale.
Sadly, this was my initial thought… seems like testing the waters.
While I can empathize with a lot of the things already mentioned – map verticality, power creep (especially power creep), short lack luster story, etc…
My biggest fear is timers. More maps that are just one big event timer. Ugh.
You just hit the nail right on the head for me, I hate timers more than anything else in this game. I am considering time gates a part of that as well.
Looking back at GW1:Factions and all of the timed missions and sneering.
I didn’t mind the time missions in Factions. Its actually my favorite expansion. The difference between Factions and HoT though, is you can /resign and restart if you so desire. Or you can just play through and take as along as you want if you don’t. And you could do it any time you so choose.
With the HoT map timers, if I need to do an achievement at the start of the map or the end of a map or at a specific time, I need to watch the clock in real life, and sync up my real life with the game to be able to work on those things. I can’t do it “at my own pace” or “in my own time.” At times, I really feels like I need to make my life revolve around a game to be able to do certain things.
I love Factions too, once you get past the city that is. Those timers though, ugh…
Resign! That was a good and useful feature, I would love to see that and the reconnect after disconnect added to GW2!
