I wish Anet put some kind of lobbying system for each boss or something..Giving us content with zerg restrictions is painful to organize. Those maps who havesuccessfully organized are a minority IMO. Just gonna do the APs and I’m out of that place.

The real issue? ArenaNet spending over a year talking about giving us a pre-cursor system and then quietly getting rid of the idea and also not adding in new Legendaries.

IMO GW2 is in a precarious situation. Once a new MMO innovates and implements better from the innovations of GW2 is the moment we’ll see this game’s downfall, otherwise we’re kinda stuck in limbo until Anet finds out how to capitalize on this game’s system.

imo, I would only ever range if I need to use range, specifically in PvE. I have a love/hate relationship with GS — love it in PvP, hate it in PvE (except for iBerserker cause that’s our only good AoE phant =/)
“Anet” and “fix” in the same sentence never really works. Great game, dev team/QA team getting worse.
Also someone mentioned turning the projectile into the one the trident phant/illusion uses would be nice.
Solution? Change the Projectile Into A Purple Laser.

I wouldn’t mind a boon strip or two on interrupt ._. IMO we need more punishment for people we interrupt.

Honestly the game is great, but I do believe if the devs are a little bit more competent, especially in the QA area, it’d be better. I still don’t see me playing any other MMO (other than FF14 cause I’m a fan of the franchise) than this. Barely interested in ESO and Wildstar.
The devs would be more “competent” if the players would provide actual constructive criticism instead of whining. They have to gather data, analyze it, and do testing. If the players don’t provide anything but a story of an experience that can’t even be verified as true beyond their word, then it’s utterly worthless. Anet is trying with the collaborative development, to involve the community but I feel the forums are too hostile for that. And too many people here think that anecdotes = data. No testing, no sources to verify said testing, no alternative hypothesis consideration, no disclaimers mentioning the lack of testing of hard to analyze variables like player behavior, etc etc. No, just anecdotes followed by complaining.

If a dev SPECIFICALLY STATES that they were gonna fix something, I’m pretty sure we’re supposed to believe that they will. And I repeat: Instead they break it even more. All I can say is their QA is terrible.
Not only that, I feel like their communication here is also lacking since we don’t even have any idea if they know what we’re whining about right now or if they’re doing something about it. A simple, “Oh, we’re sorry we weren’t able to fix this and that like we said we would but rest assure it will be.” would’ve somewhat sufficed. I may be mistaken on this one but eh, that’s what I feel.

I’d actually play this game again if Power Block continues to work as it currently does.
Right now I’m playing Smite and the balance there is light years ahead of the balance in GW2, and Smite has something like 50 different characters.
I don’t think a MOBA is a good point of comparison….
My advice is start learning how to use a focus. A sword/focus combo of 4(towards a wall)-5-4(while casting iWarden)-3-3-2 can almost wipe an entire pulled mob. Roaming open world with Blink, stability mantra and condi cleanse mantra (once you’re able to get them) are the best options IMO

Blimey – nothing worth quitting over. I just started playing again after a break and have no intention of quitting mesmer. Only reason I’d leave is if a better game came along (which it hasn’t).
Have a look at all if the profession forums – exactly the same complaints in each, as it always happens after a patch.
I’ll adapt and continue to enjoy playing, as I’m sure many others here will too. Doesn’t take a genius to work out new build/equipment choices…
This. Welcome to the forums op. You’ll find that most people here believe themselves to be more qualified than any of the Anet devs when it comes to balance. Anet can’t even breath without them getting flat out insulted by the majority of players here. Happens with everything anet does.

A baby can balance better you. insert another insult here followed by very emotional, and pessimistic whineAs always, the anger towards anet distorts peoples’ ability to objectively analyze things and like always, they completely blow things out of proportion. Check out the Ele forums. It frequently contains accusations of favoritism. Engis? Same thing.
There wouldn’t be any here, or less in extent, IF THEY ACTUALLY FIXED THE BUGS THEY SAID THEY WERE GONNA FIX.
Plain and simple. Do tell me how to analyze properly the fact that they themselves said iWarden is going to be fixed and post-patch they managed to break it even more. Do tell me how to analyze properly that the mesmer bug thread in the bugs forum have more things added to them than actually fixed.

This is the first patch where I feel really \o/ about. The whole skin thing alone is pretty kitten awesome.
And these type of people, ladies and gentlemen, are the people that Anet caters to.
Not quitting, just annoyed that the patch did to us more bad than it was supposedly do good i.e. promised bug fixes that never came and even added bugs……..
Just trait the focus skills for reflect and you’ll be good.
Okay been running around with my GS/Staff build for the past week and I must say it performs REALLY well in zergs. Confounding Suggestions works and Halting Strike proccing on a Chaos Storm drop plus a GS4+AoE Diversion combo can really do damage and push a zerg back<—this combo makes it feel like a long range daze bomb. To my surprise it felt like I was a factor on zerg vs zergs. And yea the only problem was group stability but you still affect the enemy zerg nonetheless, especially if you add a feedback on the rotation.
That being said my GS/Staff build is not too reliable on small group roaming unless I go on the 20/20/0/0/30 spec with DE and a couple of other trait switches and Sw/Sw/Staff.

It all smoothly went from PvE leveling to Dungeons then to WvW to end up in personal attacks and “I know this better than you” ’ .
To OP – In an orgnized setting, Mesmers will be phased out of PvE content for most dungeons, only few being an exception (and some fractals). If a mesmer is only taken for reflect, a guardian can do it better and deal more damage, have more accessible active support.
Not sure about ranger’s dps compared to mesmer’s in a speedclear setting, but I guess you’d better take a ranger for the prec buffs rather than a mesmer (rangers do have reflects too).
I have 3 reflects, 4 if you include my reflect heal. Pretty sure reflect is mesmer’s job on dungeons.

For the Staff/GS, I want to trait in DomVII but I’m finding it hard to think of not having less cooldown on GS5 because I dont have the OH sw daze. Do you think the 5s reduction worth it?
Overall though I’ve just been theorycrafting. I made the Staff/GS combo based on running with the zerg and picking off people at range because close up shatters imo are harder to perform in this situation. Dropping Chaos Storm and praying to RNGesus that daze/stun procs is what I was thinking of, as well as grrabbing null field/feedback. As much as I want to take DE it feels like I can’t sacrifice CS for that reason. I was thinking popping GS 2 and 4 into the zerg then using diversion would make the AoE daze worth it. In terms of small group roaming, I can take advantage of staff 2 and keep at range, mostly playing defensively and then pressure with GS.
Sw/Torch+GS is a bit more straightforward. I made it for mainly group roaming while switching to GS for zerg. Stealth+cleanse on torch for survivability and DE for clone production.

I specced it so it’s a little more WvW friendly, although I also specced it specifically for group roaming/zerg so I’m not sure how well it works for solo roaming. I would also like to note that I haven’t tested them cause I don’t have the necessary gear yet since I just started WvW so any feedback is appreciated

PvE I’m not too concerned cause I know zerk will still do it’s duty. Although you’re right, I just noticed not doing zerks on armor and only putting them on trinks is the best way, thanks.
Well, mostly just concerned about when I complete ascended armor set because I wouldn’t wanna regret going full zerk if the ferocity difference is noticeable.
Ok, so regarding the upcoming ferocity stat I just want to be sure. I roll a a power mes and just started on WvW. Starting to invest on an ascended set too, but before I mess things up, when ferocity hits would it still be worth it going zerker or should I switch to soldier’s now?

3 weeks before the patch that will remove it..
Remember when LA knights were unkillable/frustratingly hard to kill cause of time constraint and not enough dps, til they eventually had -25% HP on them? Well guess what, if ferocity does indeed end up lowering dps output this means longer downing of timed events=failing=more frustration.
I could be off with my statement but it’s hard to disagree with this:
Balancing works in two steps:
1. Warrior can do it too.
2. Warrior does it better.Guardians have passive regen? So does Warrior, for triple the amount.
Mesmers have perma-vigor? So does Warrior. Not better? Nerf Mesmer perma-vigor.
Thieves can 1-hit people? So does Warrior, with the new Burst Precision + Kill Shot. And Warriors can do it at range too.
Necromancers have fear? So does Warrior.
Rangers have spirits? So does Warrior, indestructible, moveable banners, including an elite which instantly rez the champion lord in stonemist castle.
Everyone join the warr train. The answer was here all along. Why else would warrs get the best buffs while classes like rangers, eles, necros, thieves, and engis get left behind?
The day when lfg does not contain things such as “no rangers/necros”, “zerk only”, “warr party only” and warrs soloing dungeons and zone champions is the day that never comes.
