..being a cynical forecaster.
..being a doom-monger….and being a hopeless jinxer.
I realize that some of this will most likely change, and I sure hope it does.
But I haven’t seen anyone comment on the Confounding Suggestions change. It shows the trigger chance as 100%. So EVERY daze is a stun??
One sentence they want to make the GW2 Mesmer a very high skill based class like in GW1. Then they give us something like that?
Wouldn’t this be better?
“When you interrupt a foe with a daze, the foe is stunned. Increased daze duration.”
And whats up with the 100% duration increase on PU? Apparently, ANet has an itching and it can only be scratched with “MORE STEALTH”.
Its really great that these trait changes on all the classes are basically “profession reviews”. They can fix things, clean up unused traits and really do something good. But I look at some of the things (particularly eng, thief, warrior) and really wonder if they even play this game at all?
If Confounding Suggestions actually comes out like that I’ll be so happy. It’s not like interruptions are THAT easy to come by, you’d have to watch your opponent intently, which comes down to skill. Plus missing dazes due to stability/evades/invulns brings us to medium to long cooldowns.
With all these buffs I’m just scared people will cry to big Mommy ANet and ask to nerf us right off the bat…
That’s when you revive someone, it’s from the old revive trait, nothing changed.
Hey Chaos, since IP is innate now, don’t you think Shatterlock is begging for a revival?
Why does the illusion traitline seem more condi focused….Right now I’m looking at the Master traits and there’s nothing there I would like if I went power shatter, what gives?
Yes I agree which kinda sucks, but mind you, the illusions trait was a Condi Damage trait line to begin with before.
That sounds fine and all..until I saw that DE became a grandmaster for that traitline, obviously shatter specs will need to go through this traitline now, so basically, power shatt gets some useless condi traits =/
But I’m glad IP is innate now, it’ll give me a chance to remake Shatterlock, hopefully!
DE is in dueling which looks like it will be great for either power or condi shatter.
Oh wow, I’m blind, my bad lol. Although, can anyone expand on what that Master of Fragmentation GM trait on Illusions is?

Not sure if anyone caught this little tidbit, but it sure jumped right out at me:
“I’m personally excited about a grandmaster trait that has the power to grant my character a defiance bar!” (https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/specializations-part-two-reward-tracks-and-elite-specializations/)
D:
I’m not excited, that means we’d have to spend all our lockdown skills just to shave it off? wtf?
My concerns:
-The blog post mentioned that the base stats will be spread out on the character and gear, does that mean gear choice will become even more dominant? (e.g. Zerker)
-Some people already mentioned but what happens to traits that overlap because we wanted their functionality (Halting Strike+Mind Wrack). Unless of course ANet finds a way to satisfy us with their restructuring.
-Will they finally get rid of useless traits? e.g. Downed Traits
-What if we want to get only one or two traits in a line and balance it elsewhere? Here it seems we’re locked into only 3 major traitlines.
-A defiance bar?…So…slap to the face for CC builds? Or am I overreacting?
-From the second blog post it feels like ANet is taking control on build making. Maybe that’s just me.

Not everyone can be a press-1-2-warrior.
Well since engis are about to get hammers in expansion, maybe there’ll be a wrench hammer skin.
Only way this trait will see daylight is if it reduced Diversion CD to at least 25s.
Seeing as burst still sounds to be important, I’m sure shatter won’t dissipate, but the potential of other builds can still be open. I’m hoping our builds won’t be bottlenecked like in conquest.
My bad LOL. Just popped into my head when I heard of it and didn’t see any post here yet so….
I thought about these questions because I feel strongholds is gonna have a different vibe to it compared to conquest. Things such as supporting the sabotage skritts and such, or maybe bum rushing opponents, etc. Idk if cele meta will have a strong grip on this mode, but that’s speculating.
http://dulfy.net/2015/04/09/gw2-stronghold-pvp-public-beta-coming-april-14/
Since beta for Strongholds is comin up, what are everyone’s thoughts on build viabilities? Will there be room for builds outside of shatter? Will new builds prevail or will most still stay the same?

AngryJoe interviewed Colin about this and it seems it’ll be “considered” in HoT.
Then say bye bye to keyfarmers.
I think OP is troll guise
Here’s a good example for ya. I put in 200 swords and got Zap. Then I flushed 1500 GS and got zilch.

I believe it’s not just gonna be about T6. We don’t even know what will be in these collections, and there are gonna be 3 collections per Pre, that means there will probably be some items in these collections that will be difficult to get, and probably will be in the TP. Therefore, there might be these items that will raise in TP due to demand. But it’s all speculation.

I didn’t really play the stress test long but I noticed pretty early that revs seemed a little over the top. It made me think that the specializations will also need to be pretty crazy to keep the current classes on par with the revenant. I be getting the expansion anyway so it doesn’t bother me.
Exactly. It would be bad if in the real thing, the only way to match with Revenant (not even considering their specialization) would be through specializations.
Oh btw, how harsh will collection item RNG be, or will there be any? If it’s anything like Mawdrey that’d be excellent.
inb4 thief rifle gets uber multiplier stealth shot
maybe
Which does worries me because how much exactly will base classes get treated. Only Anet will know =/
This is how it should have been in the beginning.
I flushed 200 swords and got Zap. Flushed 1500 GS and zilch. RNG shatters dreams man.
I would, how else am I gonna kill stuff ):
It was also nice because in GW1 a Mesmer turned an ability spammer into a corpse … we used to heavily punish ability spammers in GW2 too, but not as well now.
I’m curious how the meta will shift with this expansion giving new weapons, changes to damaging conditions, specializations, new utilities, etc.. Going to probably be quite the shake-up.
Funny because we had the pre-nerf Powerblock for that, then yep…Many thieves cried rivers and poof useless trait ):
Again…. this changes nothing…
If a warrior is using sword warhorn and his warhorn builds bloodlust….
Then he swaps to his greatsword….. and unequips it for a longbow…
He will still have his bloodlust stacks because he never unequipped his warhorn in his alternate set.
There is no reason to believe that sigils play any role in this whatsoever.
How so? The player still has a stacking sigil in his ‘combat set’ (combat set is set of weapons that can be used in combat). In the ele/engi/rev idea the ele/engi/rev stacks the sigil in his out of combat weapon then switches to the combat weapon (keeping the stacks) before going to combat. So the ele/engi/rev has stacks while having no stacking sigil in his ‘combat set’.
okay. i see what you mean.
…but giving all professions the ability to swap between weapon loadouts does not mean it has to function the same way weapon swap does.
You could simply reset sigil stacks for swapping weapon loadout.
Gw1 had like 3-4 weapon sets you could swap to/from.
I’d like to see something like that….. and make it completely separate from weapon swapping.
….plus an engi or an ele being able to do what all the other professions can do with sigil stacking (use a stacking weapon then swap) for pve is not gamebreaking and is really nothing to worry about.
And therein lies the problem. Anet doesn’t want to do any changes excluding either PvE or PvP/WvW. Case in point, changes have been made to classes due to PvP balancing which “nerfs” classes in PvE. (I don’t really have any examples but I’m sure others know what I’m talking about.)
Ok so, correct me if I’m wrong but it seems to me that most, if not all, consider Revenant in its current condition is pretty dam OP right? I mean, of course we expect changes but that will depend on Anet how much “balancing” they will actually do, but I sense that it won’t be as big of a change as let’s say, Beta Mesmer vs Current Mesmer. But, sure, okay it’s too early to jump the gun, just my first impressions.
IF, however, what Revenant we get will be almost close to what we have now, not to mention their Specialization, does this mean vanilla classes will get outdated by respective specializations of each class? What I mean is, every time I argue to someone that Revenant is OP, their counter is that class specializations will make up for it. Will that actually be the end result? Or will we get a pretty hefty buff/balance on current classes? If it’s the latter, I expect some moderate changes and not just a brushover on current class trait/skills. For example, all the downed traits on Mesmer, no one needs that AT ALL, but what is the possibility of those traits actually getting replaced by something better?

>craft mystic clovers
>wish for mystic clovers
>get t6 mats instead
>????
Also seems like Rev will be a great addition to cele meta…
We would see a toilet filled with an unsightly amount of weapons.
Not to mention that terrible minor trait. 5% more damage on non skill use? wtf?
Do the focus combo. Solves PvE woes.
sure, maybe the shield will actually has a “power block” that actually works against thieves…
Now here is a good thought!
If they thought the trait was “OP” I doubt they’d think of putting it in at all…..
I have 1000g and I still feel poor..
Well, if you feel poor either way, I’ll happily take part of this pecuniary burden off your shoulders
At least then you don’t have to worry about spending it^^
More like it’s so easy to go poof ):
Atm I’m resisting the urge to buy Zap and wait for HoT. Oh how difficult it is…I already bought The Chosen and Flame of Rodgort lol. I wish Zap was as cheap as them….
I actually commend Anet’s Living Season 2, not to mention that ending and prelude to HoT hnggg. I like DE 2.0, feels more tight knit than 1.0 and Taimi is just excellent. I agree with the M&K “romance instances” though. Also for some reason Rox looked younger to me compared to Season 1, especially when standing around Rytlockittenep thinking, what’s with the furry vibe between Braham and Rox with Taimi acting as their adopted child…Kinda creepy yet interesting.
I have 1000g and I still feel poor..
From the Trading Post.
If the item is desirable enough to sell in the gem store, why on EARTH would Anet make it obtainable for Karma? The request might as well be for them to flush some potential revenue down the Mystic Toilet.
Because happy loyal players are worth more in the long run than today’s cash grab.
I hope this was sarcasm cause it gave me a chuckle if it were.
Man am I glad I never got into this whole stream/twitch trend.
Yea communication isn’t exactly their strong suit…
OP referring to expansions as P2W.
OP already lost.
I’d like bloodstones, emp frags and drag ores become currency pls.
42K karma meant 100 events at max level.
Yes. Once. Now it’s 4 teq events.
Now those rewards are expired. Which veteran doesnt have millions of karma stored? Anet definitely no longer see them as something that keeps player interested in playing. In fact I wonder how many players actually care about karma anymore.
I was naturally speaking at launch when those rewards were still in play as an item to provide longevity to the game. Thats why I said “meant” not “means”
Wanna know who cares about karma? New and current people who are interested in making a legendary. Don’t be selfish just cause you think you don’t need karma.
This new BL is gonna give us new options since they’re emphasizing the importance of defending. A zerg with buffs will most likely get the upper hand compared to a zerg that doesn’t. Which means there is going to be emphasis on having group roamers alongside zergs. Kinda neat.
(edited by Caelus.7139)
You know now that I think about it, getting shield isn’t the thing that bothers me. It’s the thought of how well Anet will implement it which, let’s face it, is what will worry me most. That and how they “promise” we’ll get stuff that are just as effective as the other classes. The BS I smell is strong. Although, The Flameseeker Prophecies look too good with Bolt.
Revenant CC spam is gonna be so fun.
The zerglings have sensed a distaste in their zerg. It has the zergmind confused and angered.
