Another tips. Get a VOIP (Mumble, Vent, TS, etc) and advertise it in the guild. Those who come in the VOIP usually are active player. Its more personal that the guild chat so people will talk more to each other. Its a great way to include a new members. This is a good place to ask what most people want to do next, organize events like guild missions, explain stuff to new players, etc. This is also a great way to put life into you guild as people talk to each other about all kind of stuff and push people out of their shell where they play solo and don’t participate with the guild.

Absolutely, keeping communication open is vital to any guild. Folks you aren’t running a library, staying silent after getting new member(s) won’t help you in the long run. They will find it awkward and will leave within a few hours – guaranteed. Be inclusive to the new members, talk to them. Break the ice – find a common ground with them and then build from there. As Thaddeus stated, getting to know them will help your guild to grow. Staying silent or not being inclusive will help to only slow any progress in your guild.

We have 7 members (we are a small guild, at the moment). It’s perfectly fine that you’re looking for a casual guild. We play during Friday evenings and the weekends. Let us know what server you’re on. The guild and 3 of the members are on the Aurora glade server, whilst I’m on whiteside ridge server. Haha, Darkmoore also loves doing story and jumping puzzles : D. I’m pretty much the same, I fall with style and no dignity in jumping puzzles xDD.

XDD SAO is pretty good – the first half was, too bad the second half was a let down. Can’t wait for GGO : D. Too bad it gets compared to log horizon : (.

Try the new LS. Or try to beat Tequatl (notorious for having long waits). Fractals, you might want to team up with others. You might struggle if you’re soloing. Dungeons as well. You might want to go for the ascended gear, but I’ve heard they can be quite costly in terms of acquiring the mats for them.

Starting up and keeping a guild going, is by no means an easy feat. I also struggled at the start, but I’m glad I kept at it. I’d be more than happy to sit down and talk with potential guild leaders looking to start up their own home and aren’t sure where to start.

Thank you for the tips! I’m helping someone establish a guild (I’m not a leader) and we are struggling to recruit people (and getting them to communicate in guild chat. Many of them are quiet unless you try to talk to them, or take them out for an event). It will definitely take a while for a guild to get established. All guilds (even the big ones) went through this too.

Take, for example Fate/Zero. As it was a prequel, we have already known how it would end – and yet the author has managed to write it in a way that made the journey really satisfying. In fact, he used the fact we knew the ending to wring from the story some extra juicy parts in ways that would be impossible if we were kept in the dark.

The problem with the FSN anime was the way it was handled. Too much shoved in – being far too convoluted for anyone who hasn’t played the vn. When each branch has it’s own story to tell. Er, no that isn’t impossible – well not if you’re well versed in Nasuverse that is. Hiding Berserker id from Saber was a good twist.

As Elrey said, on character selection screen hit the change server. If you want to transfer it will cost you 1800 gems. The other way is to delete all your characters and then select a new server.

Beginings

The founders of Thesaurum Venatore Darkmoore.4528 & Alekero.4679. Alekero was once a commander on the Whiteside ridge server. However he and Darkmoore have now transfered over to the Aurora Glade server. Alekero & Darkmoore like many spent considerable time in very large guilds. However after awhile they felt nothing more but faceless numbers to these big guilds. With everyone too busy with their own aims and goals, spent less time helping out other guildies. After much thought they left them guilds behind to start their own guild on Aurora Glade. And so Thesaurum Venatore was born, thus being a newly small guild.

What was once two, now has become a strong thirty-two. The guild has it’s set backs with members coming and going, but we are growing (slowly) as we search for quality members. Please read on to find out more about the guild.

What we are

Thesaurum Venatore was created in mind to be a: cohesive, social, family, friendly guild. Who would welcome and support each other. We welcome all from any EU servers. As we seek in creating a safe social community, family even. Being social is a big part of the guild, need some help on anything ask. Need to do a dungeon and want to avoid PUGs, then ask. Isolating yourself doesn’t help in to what you want to achieve. Soloing can only do so much. But with a great guild behind you, not only can you achieve much more. But have some great friends as well. Being a team player is all we ask. We are not looking for mere numbers.

Our focus & aims

At the moment the guild is primarily focusing on the PvE side. These include: world bosses, dungeons, fractals, map completion. If you’re new to fractals and dungeons, hey we’ll be patient with you, so that you can learn at your own pace – no rush. Or if you just want to relax and just talk in guild chat, then fine by us. What ever you feel like doing, it’s fine by us. You’ll never be pressurized to do something, that you don’t want to. In the long run we plan to do some guild missions and event. The guild has team speak now.

What we require

With any guild we do have some requirements. We ask all members to be:

• Be polite and respect each other. We don’t mind jokes, but any sexist / prejudicial / racist comments or jokes will be dealt with
• Since we are a guild looking to grow, we do require that you represent us at all times. We don’t mind if you are using your personal guild vault.
• Mature players. We do not want any drama coming in to the guild and causing any disharmony within the guild. For this have age requirement of 21+.

Don’t advertise your guild at all. Play lots of dungeons via the lfg tool, if you had a good group ask them if they want to join your guild. If they are playing decent, you can be sure that they at least spent some time in the game and keep playing the game for while.

That would be advertising your guild in-directly.

As Donari pointed out, names are universal so long they aren’t taken. And yes if you delete all the characters then you can transfer for free. If you don’t want to, then the fee is 1800 gems. Anything that is account bound will be with you regardless, it’s anything that is soul bound that will be a problem. Place them in the bank.

That is a clever tactic, that last one. I think my guild needs to employ all of these tactics to help our guild grow, since we are quite small. We are on Aurora Glade mainly, and our leaders are active but we aren’t having too much success recruiting. Are there any other tips we can employ, since we only have around 10 people last time I checked.

The last part is a good trick. So you can try that out as well. 10 is a good number, it shows that your guild is slowly growing. Patience and perseverance is key (and a little bit of luck).

I know that most players have a dream of creating a successful guild in GW. Like most, I also had this dream. And started this journey of creating my “dream” guild. So off I went making the coolest sounding guild name and tag.

Little did I realise just how tough it really is. Unfortunate to say, I met with abysmal failure. My guild is no longer around. And I’m not the only one that has gone through this, many smaller guilds face this on a consistent basis. After reading some of the recruitment post, and realising where I went wrong.

I thought I’d give a few tips as to what they can do to help their guild grow. I can’t guarantee that it will bring new members flocking to the guild. But I do hope it can give some help to the smaller guilds.

Tips:

• Observe: as to how some of the other guilds write their recruitment post up. This being the language and structure. Then write/re-write your guild recruitment post. Put in as much detail as you can about the guild like; what your guild is about and what it plans to do, what server is it on etc. Many smaller guilds neglect doing this. And are easily passed over by potential members. Remember you are selling your guild to potential members. This follows on to my next tip.

• Format: format your recruitment post. Use sub headings, bold, italic, underlines, paragraphs, bullet points etc. Make your recruitment post as neat and attractive as possible. You want to attract their attention. Your recruitment post is like your resume/CV. Handing in a very badly written resume/CV won’t get you a job.

• Guild site: Quite a few new guilds aren’t without a guild site. Think of setting one up. The most used ones are guild portal, shivtr or enjin. Use the one you think is best. And incorporate it in to your recruitment post. And keep the site active as well. After a while think of getting either TS or mumble.

Now comes the hardest part of all. Actually attracting new members.

• Forum: You will be spending a lot of time looking at the looking for guild section of forum quite a bit. Copy and paste your recruitment post. If it’s a long one, then make a digestible version of your recruitment post. By digestible, I mean a shorten version of your recruitment post. High-lightening only the key elements of your guild. The other way is to make a small comment and then link it back to your recruitment post.

• In-game advertisement: Whilst you’re playing the game, you should advertise in-game via game chat. This allows any players that do not frequent the forums to know about your guild. Give a small description of your guild. Guest on other servers as well (spend some time there as well, if any do show interest).

• Other sites: You could try other sites like Reddit, just copy and paste your recruitment post.

The biggest flaw is: all new guilds don’t advertise themselves properly. How will any potential members know you’re out there. You could be the best fit for them, and they’ll pass you by because you didn’t let yourself be known to them. Numbers in a guild also play a factor as to any potential members not wanting to give your guild ago. You need to convince them that it is worth their time to come to your guild. It just takes more effort, that’s all. Remember all the mid to large guilds went through this phase.

Whatever happens keep trying and don’t give up!!!. Keep banging on doors and eventually people will answer.

SSD are very expensive. It only loads the map by a few seconds faster. Since you have a quad core CPU running at 1.5 GHz. That can cause a few issues. As Saulius said, it is very CPU demanding. Focus on getting the CPU and GPU up. You don’t need to upgrade your memory.

No, you have to pay now. It costs 1800 gems to transfer. The other way is to delete his character(s) and then re-select his server.

Some have gone, Wintersday is coming to an end (I think). The nightmare tower arc (found in Kessex hills) is still on going. There will be 4 big major updates, first one is coming on Jan 21st I think.

When the screen shot was taken Ras, it was on my home server. The guilds home server is Aurora Glade (if that helps). I do tend to guest on other servers. Once the guest passes have expired, I’ll try again. But I’m being sceptical as to whether this will sort the issue out. And apparently this isn’t the first time this type of issue has occurred.
