I think a 10% reduction to Adrenal health would be ok. I was running around on my warrior in PvE and WvW, and I noticed that Adrenal health was the difference between facetanking Champion mobs and walking into enemy zergs and instantly dying to high pressure. This sustain could stand to be spread out a bit better so that it isn’t broken with a single minor trait.
T1 is, simply put, an endless roleplaying session of Game of Thrones.
I made a thread about it around a week ago because I had trouble finding this, but more red hair colors plz
Is the map empty? If there is a decent sized zerg on the map, it will eventually run them over to regroup with all of the people that died.
You have 3 options:
-Switch maps. They are definitely not on every map, and if you aren’t there, they will get bored and leave.
-Use a lot of stealth. It will save you if you see them coming.
-Group up. This is my favorite option. With a small havoc guild, you can combat their roaming groups with your own. Alternatively, you can find a zerg and safety in numbers.
Condition comes in when condi removal goes out. When condi removal comes back in, condition builds go out. It is a vicious cycle called meta trends.
Hope this helps!

Eternal Battlegrounds is intended to give a balanced matchup, and although not every tower should be as easy to defend as Jerrifer’s, some of the towers are unreasonably bad.
Mendon’s Gap: For similar reasons to why Quentin Lake used to be lackluster, Mendon’s is fairly bad. There’s a lack of space in the tower, people can destroy the siege in it fairly easily, and there are limited options for approaching the tower due to the weird design of the underside and wide open space surrounding the tower.
Anzalias Post: Anz is the worst tower in WvW by far. It is very far from the rest of the red 1/3, it is vulnerable to smc trebs, it has a giant mountain in front of it that it would much rather be on top of, and it is vulnerable from every direction with no strengths to speak of whatsoever.
Combined, these two towers make half of the red 1/3 in ebg extremely hard to hold, and these towers are usually paper. A redesign to the landscape surrounding the towers could be beneficial, as well as moving Anz to either the other side of the dredge entrance or on the mountain.
While there are some towers like Klovan that are mediocre, these towers benefit from being next to decent terrain and stronger towers. Mendon’s and Anzalias are not up to par with the rest of ebg.
All maps except for ebg outmanned and mostly empty on a Saturday evening.
JQ could really use some transfers. IoJ merge added like 10 people to our community.
It’s really a shame to see JQ so empty.
In one of our recent updates, we got a bunch a premium blonde and brunette hair colors, but no red hair colors. Personally, I think there is a lack of variety in the red hair: There’s a gap between orange and dark red that is only filled by a cotton candy pink color.
Yes, I will miss them if they leave for good. Alpine Borderland is kind of bland in my opinion. Ideally, we could have three different bl maps for each team.
Jungles are already covered by our desert, so I would expect something more unique, like a giant cavern
It takes a really long time to cross. Like if you die on the opposite half of the map from your spawn, it will take you at least 5 minutes of running to get back to your group, depending on how many vertical barriers lie between you and said group. Personally, I would shave some of the unnecessary corner space away and reduce the overall size of the map by 10-20%. I don’t have a whole lot of love for the Alpine Borderlands, and while I’d like to see more variation in the Borderland maps, I don’t want to see the desert borderlands get removed. I believe that a reduction in size is one of the last things this map really needs to work well.
The reward tracks from PvP certainly are not bad, but there are a few things PvPers are not concerned about that WvWers would love to have.
1. Ascended gear tracks: This could be a reward track that provides mats for crafting Ascended gear, random Ascended gear drops, and maybe at the end of a longer track, guaranteed Ascended weapon or armor. One of the things WvWers have trouble farming are any materials that are not t5 salvage mats, so having a reward track that helps us get these materials without leaving WvW is very helpful.
2. HoT stat combinations: stat combos like Marauder are pretty good for WvW. Too bad they are expensive and require going to the HoT maps and seeking put vendors that only appear after meta events. Why not make individual reward tracks for these stat combos?
3. Suggestions? The patch notes stated that the WvW reward tracks are in beta, so this is the time to ask about getting things in WvW that we otherwise have to spend a lot of time in PvE for.
If it makes you feel better, bleed does way less damage, so you might not actually notice it. Also, now cleanse on dodge gets rid of all the damage at once
They are letting us decide if we like the Desert bl now before they commit to replacing it with Alpine bl. I think this way more people will realize that there is actually a poll and participate in it.
+/-18% condition duration is still good. This is still good as it lowers the massive demand for food that made the food economy ridiculous.
Reading through the patch notes, I was elated. Well, I was, until I read the profession balance notes. Honestly, I am not impressed with the lack of certainty in changes meant to move professions into specific directions. If the balance updates are going to be quarterly alongside the content updates, the changes need to be more considerate as to how exactly they effect the viability of the professions.
Reading around, I noticed my lack of satisfaction with the balance changes is reflected by most of the profession forums. This patch is overall good, but I lost my appetite when I read the Profession Balance patch notes.
What did you expect we are in a good spot, while Revenant/Herald , Reaper and Chrono got buffs slam down guardians cause they need to be worse than Warriors right now
heck they even destroyed Scrappers too.
Necro buffs? Deathly chill is gone. It applies bleed.
I would be okay with this if they hotfixed it to poison or torment and gave us a fair amount of stacks of those so that we could actually hurt things, but the way it is, Reaper just lost most of what made it worthwhile.
How did they not notice that Deathly Chill is now worse than it was in the first beta weekend when it was completely unviable? Bleeds are terrible. Goodbye Condi Reaper. Get better soon. <3
Too bad bleed is super weak. This would be fine if a few stacks of bleed actually meant something.
This is probably the scariest thing to be in the dark about. Maybe they are making a bunch of garbage weapons good. Maybe they are nerfing something into oblivion again. Anybody else at least a little curious about what the balance aspect of this update will bring?
I would love a plant glider with flowers.
Eir is an awesome idea.
Of course, why not Faolain too to add villains to the roster?
Other good ideas would include:
Seiran
Gw1 mercenaries and heroes. Personally, I think Talon Silverwing or his heir that brought the Tengu to Tyria would be awesome choices.
Medi Trapper is pretty fun in WvW roaming. You’ll just have to wait to WvW to get fixed.
Weren’t condi necros hard counters to revenant? When did this change?
If you read the fake patch notes in context, you would realize two things:
1. Gaile Grey, the person who reads through all of the forums, posted the thread
2. Like some of the other updates, it was poking fun at things people say in those respective class forums
Sometimes, we like to say that our profession must be a bug because x part of it (or all of it) is terrible, and Gaile is just giving a shout out to the current misfit class. It can taken as a sign that Warrior buffs are on the horizon (That balance team hasn’t been in hibernation for the past 3 months) if viewed with optimism.
Interesting options. On ebg though, I would say the best area to improve gameplay would be the ogre, hylek, and dredge settlements. Except for the annoying dredge turrets, they don’t really do anything other than assist in taking and reinforcing a nearby camp once. They could do so much more.
Overall, the best buff to gameplay would be a significant buff to rewards. As said before, WvW is a full-time job in comparison to PvP and PvE, but it has the minimum wage of “in-game salaries.” Maybe more people would play WvW if they could recieve more meaningful rewards than T5 salvage mats.
Paper arrow carts are already really weak. I think superior arrow carts are in a reliable place, damage-wise, right now.
This is the question. Personally, I’m not really interested in the Alpine BL so long as the center of the map feels like it is missing meaningful objectives. Borderland Bloodlust doesn’t even work with the new system.
Of course, maybe the Alpine BL really does mean everything to other people, so I’d like to know that, and I’m sure the devs would too.
4. JQ is this random server who just exists
9. BG wants to be “good friends” with JQ therefore they always drop to their knees whenever JQ wants them to.
10. BG can never do anything on their own without JQ. JQ is the master. BG is the slave. End of story…. boo hoo.
This part made my day
I don’t love the alpine bl. The center of the borderland was poorly designed and badly fixed, and it takes too long to get out of the spawn of your own bl.
However, aside from that, it is generally better than the Desert bl. This is because it is much easier to navigate, and the towers, while bland, are better designed than the ones in eb for the most part.
I still want Tengu guards though, so I will choose to be optimistic about the changes to the desert bl. If Alpine bl must be redone, I would at least like to see the middle revamped again (there isn’t any borderland bloodlust anymore, and it should stay like that).
Push the agenda!
Bump the topic!
Recent lore interview with the venerable Ree Soesbee was recently in the news updates:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/lore-interview-with-ree-soesbee/The last question about the tengu is really double-edged.. but at least there’s still talk about it!
Excerpt:
Q: After all the achievements we made during these three years, why are the tengu still so hostile? After all, we killed Zhaitan, defeated Scarlet (who was close to them), and destroyed the Shadow of the Dragon.
A: The tengu are a very complicated race, filled with bureaucracy and warrior trials. It takes them a long time to trust other races—they were hunted in Cantha—and it would require a lot of discussion among their high masters before they could commit to any kind of treaty with the other races. Many individual tengu do believe in building a peace with the other races, but at this time they are still arguing their case before the leaders of the Dominion.
This translates to maybe, but not today. Tengu could be just over the horizon, or they could simply never happen.
That said, a polearm wielding tengu would have me rolling on the floor with hype.
Do you even wvw? Seriously, the amount of salvage loot in wvw is high enough to warrant 3 salvage kits a day. The second you run out of salvages on the go, your inventory maxes out, and you stop making money.
I’d love to see some sort of solution to this. Some of my worst deaths have been attributed to double-clicking death shroud while trying to jump from plague form into death shroud.
As long as there are people who believe WvW loot has to be awful in order to prevent Karma trains, our loot will remain a mass of blues and greens.
Realistically, a well thought out reward system could encourage competitive gameplay, as well as give us a means to get gear and skins that are PvE exclusive and ascended gear.
Honestly, they might as well think the Earth is flat if they are too conservative to buff Axe. It is easily in the top 3 worst weapons.
The classes that have outstandingly bad matchups vs Reaper are the ones that are inherently weak to conditions.
Against Reaper, Revenant is about as good as an ele with no damage mitigation vs a power burst build. Honestly, it is bad design. Other classes that are weak vs conditions have 3x as much cleanse. I don’t like mopping the floor with every Revenant because they are Revenants. That isn’t fun.
Our condition pressure wouldn’t seem so strong if the classes that are inherently weak to conditions were tuned up a bit.
Also, 1v1 against Reaper with full Life Force is one of the hardest 1v1’s for every class, which is why they start with none in sPvP.
Personally, I’d take Master of Corruption over Terror, because getting a little 1k bonus on three attacks is fairly underwhelming. Master of Corruption takes a huge chunk off of Consume Conditions cd, and it makes corrupt boon delete boon builds. If you feel the need to make up for the loss of damage by giving up terror, simply transfer the poison and torment from corrupt boon and do similar damage.
How is burning precision working w/o precision?
If your class is boon heavy and/or weak to conditions, Reaper will be very hard to fight. 1v1, it is the strongest profession, but only at full life force.
If you are a Revenant, don’t even try. Revenant is unreasonably bad vs conditions, and the fact that the Reaper can kill boons makes things worse for the Revenant.
The best medicine for Reaper is to use the other four people on your team to blast through his shallow stability and melt him. It really only takes two people to beat a great Reaper. Of course, a Reaper who isn’t top tier PvP is going to lose vs people that outplay him.
+1
20 yaks? You can barely get in 10 in T1.
Necros now have unblockable marks, reaper 5 unblockable chill, signets corrupt, scepter corrupt, and most aggravating is the reaper 2 corrupt. The boon removal changes for guardian are hilariously stupid. Get conditions, use contemplation, enjoy getting them all corrupted, die.
Reaper cannot afford to run the RS 2 corrupt and the signet corrupt at the same time. Keep that in mind when playing against a Reaper.
after the “redesign”, shield as been upgraded from complete trash (I’d say it was the single worst weapon in the game of any class) to “meh”
I’d say that Necromancer Axe is the reigning champ for worst weapon.
Both the trait and the utility were working for me last night.
and i got my kitten handed to me the first two games
until i decided to Check the snap cast to target box
then i was rolling my index finger through 1 to 5 over and over and collecting free kills
how can necro claim they have a speck of skill when they basically exploit an aimbot that makes them land aoe groudn skills automatically its ridiculous how easy i was slapping people with condies.
I don’t use the auto aim for my marks… It definitely simplifies it a bit though.
Ok, realistically, nobody is killing 100 ppl/hr while spawn camping. Just one tick of SM Castle is enough to counter all of the points one could gain from spawn camping.
The structures require no defenders if there are no attackers. It is the attackers’ responsibility to cause people to have to sacrifice their time to defend. This is completely fair.
Managing a tower on an empty map is never fun. By allowing an unassaulted tower to upgrade without somebody sacrificing several hours to do it, the upgraders can actually go to where there is combat, which for most is preferable to spending money and doing nothing for several hours. WvW is built around time periods where there are substantial amounts of people on each map. Anet did state that one of their future goals is to make the maps work better in low population time slots.
Say thank you to druid for breaking it
It’s ok. The new zerk dagger thief will only be slowed for 1 additional second.
I’m still amused that they counted piercing shroud 1 baseline as the big improvement to Death Shroud. I thought the dark pact buff was for dark path, and I was like "oh cool! No more loss from not being able to use PoC and Terror together! I was wrong. Oh so wrong. Piercing hardly counts as a buff. Base Necro is in a sore state still.
