I’m at the point in conversations that if someone interupts me to tell me their gay, I just continue on with the conversation before.
Wouldn’t that be an odd thing to do, though? I’ve never had a convo with someone that made a point of telling me they’re straight or hetero or whatever.
I always port to the one by the Mystic Forge.
Just because you are intolerant Magicus,
If their point of view is just as valid as yours, why are they the intolerant one? Just wondering.
Or are so caught up in the romance of it, they ignore it.
The divorce rates would suggest this. Obvious fantasy is obvious.
I like this system better. It just takes some getting used to.
Yeah, with the trait system fixed, there’s no need for the defense events. Surprised they didn’t pull them with the update.
Teq does have a crit spot, it is just further back. Best way to describe the spot is directly beneath his belly, behind his arms when he is idle.
That’s ridiculous. If you’re going to permit crits on world bosses, it shouldn’t be a janky positioning requirement. If you hit the target, the crit chance should apply.
Yeah, this would make sense.
I’m referring to the fact that, not so long ago at all, women were expected to promise to “obey” their husband, in the marriage vows.
A married woman had, in theory, to consent at any time her husband wished.
Isn’t it interesting that such an archaic system still exists even in the 21st century?
Human beings (or is it just gamers?) have a tendency to believe in equal rights so long that all views coincide with their own.
Wait. We can use them in HoT.
There are more npc hetero relationships in this game than there are homosexual.
Honest question here:
How many main (starring role) NPCs are engaged in hetero relationships compared to same sex relationships ?
Well, currently none, since the only relationship among the main characters that is detailed at all is Kasmeer and Marjory.
I would consider Faolain a major NPC (starring role), albeit a villain. So four characters engaged in same sex relationships while none engaged in opposite sex relationships.
I don’t have a problem with this (or wouldn’t if Marjory/Kasmeer’s were better written), am glad to see diversity, but it does stand in contrast to the claim I was responding to.
I don’t follow the whole story that much, but from what I remember there were several heterosexual relationships in the game so far:
Logan and Queen Jenna. (human)
Kazz and Doxa (asura).
Eir and Borje. (norn)
Snarl and Galina. (charr)
(Hinted) Rox and Braham. (charr + norn)
Zott and Elli. (asura)
Canach and Anise. (sylvari and human)
and there are probably more, too. It’s not like Anet only endorses same-sex relationships (or even hinted at it).
Well, I said detailed relationships. Not hints and ones that you have never seen them even kiss once.

You don’t have to agree or believe but everyone has the right to love the person that they love. Also everyone deserves the most basic of human rights and that’s to be treated with respect and dignity no matter your sexuality, race, religion, size or disability.
Wait a minute. I thought we were supposed to hate all religious people…
I doubt many people would actually wear rainbow dye. Besides, the rainbow motif has nothing to do with marriage specifically. Does anyone really get married anymore, anyway?
Any time you give something only to get something back randomly, it’s gambling and therefore a risk.
Haven’t noticed any difference, personally.

This thread is a good example of how not to.
I agree. Not being condescending to your audience would be a good place to start, but then maybe that is the OP’s purpose.
No, it’s not stealing.

There is not going to be a HoT only option. Anyway, you’re paying $50 for HoT not the base game.
I never understood why some people can enjoy something only when others can’t have it.
Because it makes them feel superior and they like that feeling?
Why assume that the nerf will make condi unplayable? Doubt they’re going to nerf it that much.
Berserker gear is just fine. Plenty of people are having fun using it just like they’re having fun using other builds. Nothing’s really changed for berserker fans.
I gave this a go just to see what it’s like. I bought 20ish of the cheapest ones and basically broke even on the ectos and made a little silver. Have no interest in sinking much of my hard-earned gold into it, though.
Since they gave us enough hero points to unlock everything, I don’t understand what the upset is.
Mint chocolate chip IS the ice cream meta…
This would be very nice.
Someone said that berzerker gear is performing at an increased 30%. Zerker is still a great option and isn’t underperforming.
I love the new LA. It looks amazing!
Are people ditching their berserker gear in general or is it still a good option?
So, dungeons are no longer zerker gear? Is everyone ditching berserker stats or what?
Yeah, where is it and what is the name of the NPC?
Guys, sure its not my call, to tell you what things or games you buy
This.
Can characters lower than 80 change their build setup? Does anyone know?
They’re spirit shards now, and yes, they’re supposed to be gone.
There was a mounted enemy in the trailer for guild halls. now that they have the animations and assets in the game, anyone think they will implement them for players?
I don’t think they will, no.
I sincerely doubt they would be so foolish as to restrict the bundled char slot to pre-purchase-only
It says pre-purchase, so that’s exactly how I understand it. If I buy the game after release, this veteran appreciation bonus won’t be part of the deal just like the half-price gems won’t be.
Well it may come as a surprise to most of you, but I never doubted Anet would come through
Yeah, I am totally shocked.
Thank you for the fabulous response to so many peoples’ concerns. I look forward to Heart of Thorns and beyond. Still plan to pre-purchase.

if the core game has become free, does that mean we can make a new account without HoT for free?
oh and if that’s not the case, it’s not really free now is it.
Yeah, it’s free for new players only.
Being able to sit on a chair does seem rather basic…

This is a nice change for people that bought all their skills with gold. Glad they did this.
patch tomorrow? maybe they are “working”….
I’m sure that’s keeping them busy, yeah.
perception is everything, I’m finding it hard to believe that Arenanet’s marketing team couldn’t forsee that one.
Nice summary. This is where I’m at as well. How could they have failed the “What if?” game so badly? They made several decisions that were all perceived really badly. When it comes to advertising, you really want your deals to be perceived well. For a lot of people, this didn’t happen. So many players feel they were either given a poorer value or lied to.
Mega nerf to whom exactly?
to everyone but Engineer
Guess it’s a good thing I have one then. lol
Mega nerf to whom exactly?
I bought the 99 bucks package. I don’t care what the haters think.
This is the package I plan to get, as well. When I’ve seen people in-game talking about which one to buy, the Ultimate is usually the favorite. I’m just waiting a bit to see if anything changes. I do wish I knew how long this one will be made available, whether until release or sometime earlier.

They could have sold the base game for $10 and the expansion for $50. That would have made things seem more equitable for everyone. $10 wouldn’t be such a burden for a new player. And if they’d added a char slot to all packages, in addition, there probably never would have been much outrage.
Now if you put most of the best looking items in a cash-shop, does that then not also count as P2W? It short of depends how you define winning.
You’re the first person I’ve met that would define wearing a nice outfit that you can’t earn in game as P2W. Most people don’t consider cosmetics a P2W issue. P2W indicates that what you buy will get you further or make you more powerful in the game versus other players that didn’t buy.

Again, it’s a lot about perception. I don’t see it this way. I view it as paying or not paying $50 for HoT. Giving the base game away free to new players doesn’t factor into it for me.
Outside independent sources see it the other way.
Quotes from PC Gamer:
“Guild Wars 2 players rightly upset by Heart of Thorns’ pre-purchase scheme”
“People who don’t yet own Guild Wars 2 are getting an amazing deal. People who do—who have potentially supported the game for three years—are not.”
This doesn’t change my and many other peoples’ POV. Some people see it this way but not all.
