Do you have a value on the heal from Dagger MH, I know its a faster attack and I think its about 35 per sec ?
Stability comes from traited Death Shroud which is mandatory for Tournament play because the other team pretty much saves the CC chain fest for when you go into DS.
DS is also a gap closer and if you traited for run speed with dagger you can be at least 15% faster AND if you use the run speed signet I think that’s a total of 25%.
On my Mesmer I run a Staff+GS hybrid setup and no single player can bring me down, just will not happen ever -not saying its a 100% win for me, just saying 1 player can not kill me. Memser pretty much destroys conditions and boons and can bring a world of hurt when played right. Necro needs dumb players to stay inside well area lol
Thing is OP, not every one enjoys melee play style -as in dagger main hand.

Both Necromancer Scepter and Mesmer Scepter have an effect on the third hit, Necromancer applies a poison and Mesmer summons an Illusion.
Mesmer can cast other abilities between the 3 Scepter attacks and the game remembers and still casts the Illusion after the 3rd attack. However; Necromancer must cast 3 continuous and uninterrupted scepter attacks to get the poison off of the third attack.
Bug? Intended?
Seeing how so many of use use Epidemic, please share how and when you like to use it.
Grasping Dead (Scepter 2)
Enfeebling Blood (Dagger 5)
Epidemic——>Deathly Swarm (Dagger 4)
I also use it on single target when I want to transfer 3 stacks of vulnerability say on a Veteran or Champion.
@Sjach Darasv:
This is your build:
Since you have 20 points into Curse, would it not be better to use Scepter+Dagger?
I’m curious why in Curse take III -Apply a 1 sec Chill when you blind?

Would you level with it? What would the first 50 points look like and utilities?
Toughness + HP
Thief has a resource system and CD’s….
1) Learn to recognize his CD so you can mitigate it with Elixir S on other ways.
2) Learn when to use YOU CD’s for maximum return.
3) Learn what to do when you mess up!!
Kill Time in this game is high enough to allow for mistake recovery.
OR you can play BUNKER spec which is put all points in the last 3 trait lines and use a pistol + shield and NEVER EVER AGAIN worry about any melee player!
Very good and well rounded build. Although, the incredibly low crit chance puts me off from this build, the amount of buffs you get is great.
Although, for a Rifle build, I am always leaning towards Gadgets rather than Elixirs. Just a personal preference.
Is the build I usually go with for random SPVP. As most people like to be bursty in SPVP, this build is great for pure Control. So I avoid damage and control my opponent rather than improving raw defense. I have a Purity Sigil and will switch to Sigil of Ice if I feel I need a tad bit more control.
The crit and crit damage I have are low before considering the self buffs but that is the trade off for 18xx Toughness. It has burst but you need to build it as it NEEDS the target to stand still—>Root—>Jump in—->Burn DoT—->Knock back.
Going Gadgets you buff your crit damage by a huge amount and I managed to get it as high as %60 with %50 crit and I melt people BUT I am a glass cannon.
Edit: With my build you can also simply change the neck and add crit and crit damage for the cost of 5xx toughness! Don’t forget your perma buffs and high HP!

Toughness :1820
Attack : 3123
WeaponDamage :1224
CritChance :26.14
CritDamage :12
Armor :2884
Defense :904
HP :24122
Its a Toughness heavy build which means you can easily add more crit, crit dmg. You can drop to 1k Toughness and have %5x crit and %6x crit dmg which would make you a glass cannon if that’s what you want!
Try the build out it packs a punch in sPvP.
I’d like to add that I try to do as many zone events as possible and I have never gotten anything but Gold. Some events I joined when the boss was below 50% and still ended up with Gold.
Scepter+Dagger / Staff
o
20 II (20% Bleed Duration) / IX (Well skills use grounding)
0
10 III (Leave a Mark of Blood when you dodge)
10 II (Life drains 25% slower in DS)
Consume Condition / Well of Suffering / Epidemic / Well of Darkness / Flesh Golem
Power house setup can take on anything, just learn how to dodge and finish your dodge at the mob so you and Golem get the heal.
Epidemic is amazing -enough said.
Well of Suffering = mobs die in seconds.
Well of Darkness = 5 sec immunity!!
The damage is 1000% there, all my gear is Condition damage and my Runes are Condition+Toughness. Just be careful you are not a tank but the damage is as high as I have seen especially when Well of Suffering is up.
I tried MM but it does not have anything on this spec.
The best build(s) do not use any minions. Condition based of course and uses Wells.
The 0.1% should not speak, honestly they shouldn’t…When less than 1% can manage content it needs a nurf!
The very first instance is revealed at 25 and the mobs inside are +30. At 30 we only have 10 Trait points. The assumption here is the instance, in story mode of course as the players going in are level 30, is designed for level 30 players and most likely new to Guild Wars 2 and most likely are speced for solo questing.
Unless of course my assumption is wrong, and game designer did not bother attuning content to the relevant player base doing that content.
In any case ANet has 2 choices:
1) Blizzard: Even though Blizzard believed firmly in the choice it made when the player base did not accept it -for example hybrid tax and more specifically Shadow Priest design- Blizzard made a blue post stating nothing is wrong with Shadow BUT since the community does not like the design they will change it AND THEY DID.
2) BioWare way: completely brush off anything and everything from the community and even go as far as saying the problem is in the low skilled players and see your player base shrink by the day until WoW players make fun of yet another fail MMO.
31 I go to the very first instance AC and guess what happens? Its all about rez spam! In what demented designer universe did you come up with the idea that the very first entry level dungeon is to be the single worst gaming experience of any ones life?
Do you people at Anet have some sadistic desire or what exactly?
If this is the entry level instance its no wounder people are asking fro LEVEL 80 IN YELLOW gear or better for STORY MODE level 30!!!
What does the dungeon ‘Well’ build look like?
I took a stab at it:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/en/?fQAQFAWjQad6Vaia0bKCJFPjaTP624EHUh3TVwdA;TkAAyCsoCyEkIIbQugkBNIA
1) Might stacking
2) Burst mitigation
How many times during PvE questing have you had a full life bar? Many times myself!
I have not played all of the map but Icebrood Wolf hits like a 10 ton truck, I think some one missed this mob, please look into it.
Thanks
Put all of your points in the bottom 3 -toughness, healing, beastmaster!
Pro players make P/P OP!
Condition + Death Shroud….DoT the other team and stay in DS when getting hit -try to do it when big hits are coming and when the other guy uses an Elite.
Toss Elixir does not clear conditions -when traited of course.

Hi,
After playing a few hours with the class I realized that Rifle+Bomb Kit is what I enjoy the most and wanted to know if that was possible for PvE or PvP?
After maxing out Rifle Trait should I just go Vitality or Explosion? Vitality I get shorter Elixir and longer Elixir as well as remove condition so I not only help myself but my group!
Explosives Traits increase damage by 10% and radius of mines and I can always switch to Grenades with the Trait that throws extra grenades if I need to stay at range!
Any thoughts?
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/53522-point-defender-rifleman/
Rifle Warrior is very strong and our root is when we use our Burst or simply use your brain and wait until the target has just dodged twice, not hard.
With your spec you can pretty much couple just about anything with GS, what did you think of Staff+GS?
How much Toughness and HP and +Healing do you have?
Great guide, I just wish we had that kind of guide for every profession!
Exactly, people should ask for ‘roles’ and not ‘class.’
I’ve been told Scepter is definitely a viable weapon for DPS ranged Guardian, spec crit line and you will be looking at extremely high crit for the Scepter. The issue is the slow animation -which is in the tooltip- which seems to miss any target that is moving.
Any willing to shed light on ranged DPS Guardians?
Its a function of traits, Runes and weapon as well as utility! Any one can be ‘tanky.’ The worst players for a group are the glass cannon spec -meaning all traits and runes are DPS focused.
Play Earth Attunment and 30 in Toughness Trait and you have a ‘tank’ ele!
Go to a dungeon zone and you are bound to find: /m LF1M Guardian Tank!
You see anything wrong with this picture?
Condition Build 0/30/10/10/20
Scepter+dagger / Staff
Pretty much the best TEAM based build. Its not easy to learn to play but once you do every team will want you.
Bag slots for inventory are per character, I was asking if they could be per character slot. What that means is even if I delete the character and make a new one I still have my 7 slots available as long as the new character is using the same character slot as the one I deleted.
I started as Shortbow / Longbow but once I got to the Orr zones I really began to love Shortbow / Axe+Warhorn.
The Orr zones no longer have “hearts” and instead are a rolling set of DEs along with much more emphasis on exploration. I believe there are 15/16 Skill Points in each zone.
Having a Warhorn means that you get an incredibly nice buff (Call of the Wild) which includes swiftness at those times when you just want to travel faster to get through mobs. I’m not a huge fan of Axe mainly because solo it can get you into trouble, but it is good for staying ranged. The Axe/WH combo doesn’t give you much in the way of CC and the Axe will bounce to other targets in the area causing you some challenging moments solo.
In effect you run around with shortbow as you explore only swapping to WH for the speed buff, but once you run into a DE and decide to jump in, swap back and forth for buffing everyone, getting the poison cone off the shortbow, and getting bounces off the Axe for nice AoE between Flame Traps. It’s super effective and I find fun to boot.
My “rotation” on a “Veteran” NPC if you want to call it that is typically:
Start in Axe/WH,
Call of the Wild (buff), Hunter’s Call (summons Hawks to take alpha), send in pet (I am 30 BM and my pets do not take much damage at all)
Swap to Shortbow. poison them, stun them, get in close and drop Flame trap, then Swift Shot myself out and cripple them.
Go back to Warhorn when I think the CotW is about back and repeat.
I swap between a Fern Hound and a Jungle Spider for +regen and then Weakness on the target.
I’m currently 10 Skirmish / 30 Nature Magic / 30 Beast Mastery
It’s a build I don’t really see many people doing, but i feel my survivability solo is exceptional and in groups I can swap into a Spirit/Buff build that makes me very helpful in groups as Support. It also allows me to root a little more when I can and not just rely on just Dodging.
Its a powerful survivability build and you may want to try: 0/0/20/20/30!

Its early days and people are still learning, sooner or latter it will dawn on people that the profession it self is aesthetic at best, how you trait it the actual class!
Take just about any profession and without looking at the traits use the build in the OP, it will yield the same result.
Please don’t use sites that require us to see advertising in order to see the build! I refuse to see the ‘video’ they are forcing me to watch.

Pistol+Shield
You can not die!
Simply put PvE questing can be done by any profession in just about any build, its that easy. Players who have ‘issues’ questing are doing something wrong and/or have not updated gear. Simply buying new gear every 10 levels from 40 onwards makes a huge difference and costs nothing, rare gear is a couple of silver.
Engineer you need to enjoy the idea that your Rifle or Pistol is not your ‘main’ weapon and then decide if you want to use the huge array of team utility you have or not.
My current setup is Rifle / Sword+Horn (Horn gives all group Swiftness)
Utility:
Healing Signet
Throw Bolas
I play Rifle Warrior with:
“For Great Justice!”
Signet of Stamina (36sec CD Condition Removal)
Elite: Signet of Rage
Pistol is a medium ranged condition based weapon and just thinking about that makes me realize that Pistol would not fit! We have melee condition based weapons such as Sword/Sword or Sword/Warhorn.
I play Rifle Warrior with:
“For Great Justice!” : Grant Fury and Might to you and your allies. 25 sec CD.
Would like to get a better understanding of how to be a better ‘group’ Warrior.
Remember you have x2 Weapon slots and with my main Rifle that pierces I have Sword+Warhorn, many times if pinned down I simply switch to Sword and targets AE die quick.
My issue with Bow is that it hits like a wet noodle! Rifle crits and with the build I linked above you have Might+Fury up ALL the time and chain crit like crazy.
Axe + Focus and go 30 in the power line taking both the Focus and the Axe traits and build a Spectral+Power build and realize you will be inside Death Shroud nearly half of the time.
I don’t think people are taking into account Death Shroud damage.
Rifle can play with the best of them!
As long as you spend some copper and silver to keep your Rifle / Gear updated Rifle > Bow.

Copy and paste the link manually, the build is perfect for WvW and PvE as well as sPvP. I level with it and stuff melt just as fast as when I use a Greatsword.
Remember: Keep weapon and gear updated and after level 39 use Runes for the extra stats.

How much Toughness and HP do you have? Crit and crit damage %? Attack?
