Any more on this build from any one?
Any input on this build with new patch?
Any luck with zergs?
Nerva so what would your best gear choice be for this build now after all is said and done?
Very nice, thank you!
Wouldn’t giving pets 90% AE mitigation as well as having the pet constantly move behind the target go a long way to help pet performance?
Then have the pet scale with master stat wise?
I understand the pet in this game is designed to not be just another DoT and my guess is they don’t want to copy that other MMO but if it works then why not?
When I play on my 0/0/30/20/20 AH+Shouts GS/Sword+Focus -or in sPvP Meditation- Guardian, Ranger is by far the easiest target as they do not hurt at all and go down with ease.
0/0/30/20/20 GS AH+Shouts build.
Gear: Power+Toughness+Precision (Knight) Exotic.
I have been using a GS since before level 10 and never used anything else other than the odd Hammer or Scepter just to try them out.
Today I decided to get a Sword and Focus and go test it out against the Krakas of all kind -normal and vets- what I discovered blew me away, not only does the sword kill just about as fast, I take less damage -if that was even possible lol
As a GS I’ll admit its faceroll, really takes little skill to play this build due to the OP self healing, but add a Sword+Focus and its the same damage, same healing but much more mitigation!

Axe range needs to be further than 600….
30/30 with wells and play smart, any one who ignores you melts! Kill time is excellent and when target is below 50% hp you will notice clearly a ramp up in your DPS.
Might stacking runes or BiP if you really want to go to town on target.
If you really want to play Axe then you might look at something like this:
30/0/10/0/30
http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=;08c3-0-kHVH0E43KkJ0;9;4T-9-T19A;15;325BSZG6O;1JF04JF045Bf
You entire play style revolves around rooting/dazing you target inside WoD+WoS while maximizing DS use.
Hello,
I play necromancer since bwe, this is the only build, i think, where you can use axe for your main weaponTank/Retaliation necro spec
a range is good and you can keep distance/kite
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fQAQNAndWjMad7hbab87JCJFNzaQP217rFlC4tOA;TsAA1Cto6y4lwLbQuukBtEZUwMBAin this build you will have:
retaliation(reflects damage based on level and scales with power) from shroud, #3 of axe and heal.this is +400-500 dmg to axe
vulnerability from #1 of axe, #4 of focus, spectral wall, #1 in shroud
+60% might duration
+40% boon duration
The damage you put out is beyond low and as soon as people realize this they will just ignore you and leave you to last.
You need more DPS if you want to main Axe in the way of:
1) High Power
2) High crit
3) Golem with 30% more dmg and 50% more HP
With those 3 you will still do less dmg than a Condition 30/30 Necro! Axe is that pathetic.
I don’t care what metrics Anet has in-game kill time is our metric and Axe is pure fail.
I ask for one thing: Longer range on Cloak & Dagger, need not be much just a little bit more!

Venom P/D build : (Armor not included)
80% Condition Duration
1910 Power
979 Condition Dmg w/o food
This one’s my current build in sPvP and WvW. Tends to put single targets down hard and fast. Being a squishy warrior is a trade-off though.
Arms 10 is a toss up between +40 prec per signet or 33% vuln on crit.
Sometimes I switch tactics 10 to leg specialist and use Rifle/Greatsword.
Edit: Currently using full knights but while I don’t recommend full zerk, it’ll probably work a lot better as long as you keep your team in front of you.
I like your Rifle main and GS off hand…How would do you play GS in this build? As in when to use?
Its all about kill time and using Axe yields the worst kill time regardless of set and traits.
What’s going on with Grenades and are they really that far ahead of anything else -damage wise- in the Engineers arsenal? Did Anet design it that way? A kit that is as mandatory as you can get for any one looking at maximizing damage potential?
No other profession uses minions, if only the Soul reaping line was minion focused traits! Not talking about recharge or HP, honestly that should be STANDARD!
I’m talking about trait that truly transform necros into minion masters with an emphasis on MASTERS!
Designers decided to go with Death Shroud which I think is a cool mechanic but not as a core class mechanic..Keep Death Shroud just make the core class mechanic minion based.
Death Shroud is what you build around -or could build on- to be as tanky as possible.
30 points and pick either stability of 5 sec Death Shroud and then do what you want after that…Condition, Power, Healing Support.
Look at all the ‘when entering Death Shroud’ traits keeping in mind the 30 point Trait that lowers DS CD to 5 sec…Fury, Might and Condition removal and you will see how ‘tanky’ it makes you.
Unfortunately many of us who enjoy the Affliction/Minion archetype did not/could not find ‘fun’ in DS mechanic.
Rank is clearly an indication of skill.
Thanks for your videos oozo, you made me see a new side to the class. What gear do you use in WvW and PvE?
In that ‘other’ MMO the design of making others better has been debunked, players want to be great themselves. Simply saying this class adds Vulnerability or removes conditions or removes boons so others don’t get hurt as much and building a class around that WoW has proven to fail…Think Shadow Priest when they simply buffed others!
Inside of a dungeon each and every class needs to feel great and powerful its that simple.
How long did it take you to edit the video so every stomp happened as the song went ‘die b*t*h’?
I know it must seem that way because when GW2 went live Engineer was my first character and I could not get past the first 15 levels it felt horrible.
Many weeks latter and a few 80’s and I went back and started a new engineer and all I do is strafe..I just move in circles…
I play Rifle+Elixir build so B and U.
As one poster above said its about the buffs…DS is about the buffs, you can keep fury up stack Might and do more with it -but to do that you need to trait and some of us do not gain any ‘fun factor’ by traiting this new thing called Death Shroud!
We enjoy DoTs and big crits and Power…Some of us enjoy pets! But who enjoys Death shroud in its self? I guess some just not me :/
I ran rifle for a bit before going back to Bomberman, but this is the build I ran with the rifle.

Nice thanks!
What do you all think about gear? Which armor set and rune and sigil?
Why did you put all those points in Invention? that really doesn’t have much synergy with the rest of the build. Move 20 points to firearms and 10 to explosives. I think you would be far better off.
http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=-V70;2Z;0h0k5cQkw0;9;49T-T-4;0568;119A;14;5CoF2CoF26gK
Is this a better build AND is it a solid one?
http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=-V70;2Z;0h0k5cQkw0;9;59TT;25;045719A;14;5CoF2CoF26gw
I was told that the above build is not a good choice and is average at best, any input is appreciated, thanks.
Rifle+U
That’s the entire build, the rest is all buffs!
Utilities change to cater to what you want!
http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=;044Z-FKlHFF0m3JIkJ0;9;4TT9;036B16A1;6SNH6-JF0NV05NV051FM
Scepter and focus is amazing! Particularly the water and earth skills on focus.
Dagger and Dagger=Loads of damage, risky
Staff=Loads of control, Slow
Scepter and Dagger= Lots of damage with control
Scepter and Focus= THE MOST TANKY an ELEMENTALIST can be.Magnetic Wave: Removes 3 conditions! and a Blast finisher
Obsidian Flesh: Invulnerable for 4 seconds
Freezing gust: Chill (perfect on bosses)
Comet: Blast finish with a Daze
Swirling Winds: Big shield that destroys projectiles (sometimes useful)
Could some one share a S/F build? The one above -Ive linked it below- relies heavily on long duration burns and bleeds which in sPvP would just be negated!
http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=-k3d;0J0B2FY0B5sN-Z0;9;4T9T;01480;014B;4SN1;0J;0NV05NV051Fu
I figured out a way to make my conditions build alot stronger with traited death shroud.
I still dont trait death shroud with my power builds.
So you trait because it makes you stronger but you don’t enjoy traiting DS per say?
Any able to solo the new Vets with consistency care to share build they use?
http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=;044Z-FKlHFF0m3JIkJ0;9;4TT9;036B16A1;6SNH6-JF0NV05NV051FM
Copy and paste link I used the best GW2 Trait builder available today but these forums don’t like long links.
Please keep in mind you can and should be changing utilities and switching traits -not resetting though- as needed.
Armor: Khilbron’s
Accessories and Weapons: Carrion
You obviously can choose a different mix of items and I am open to suggestions on how to improve!
I use the Condition food and the Artificer food both focusing on Conditions.
As soon as your targets HP drops below 50% you do 20% more damage and that is your ‘burst’ as well as staying behind or to the side of the target for the extra 10% damage.
Some of us enjoy Death Shroud but my question is do you invest points into -Traits- because its fun or because you figured out a way to make your character stronger?
I enjoy Affliction/Condition play style and that is why its fun for me to invest Traits point to improve Condition based game play!
How about those of you whom invest points -Traits- into improving Death Shroud, do you do it because it increase game fun factor, or for other reasons?
According to Anet its your fault for not learning how to use Death Shroud -I know it dose not help your minions even if you use it, go tell Anet that.
Advantages over full Carrion? As in why get Khil over Cari?
In terms of damage, you actually get more with a mix of precision thrown in when using Superior Sigil of Earth against targets that have medium to higher amounts of armor (base level 80 armor your tooltip calculates damage against is 2600.)
You can test this out both with dummies in Heart of the Mist and bleed damage formula by including
(bleed damage per 5 seconds) x (critical rate) x (0.60 from the Sigil) + (bleed damage per 1 second) x (critical rate) x (0.66 from minor trait)
in what ever condition rotation damage you calculate.
The higher the target’s armor, the more the overall damage will overtake the added Power from Carrion from attacks that cause bleeding (e.g. If you’re heavy in Scepter #1 or Staff #2.)
In terms of survivability, you don’t want full Carrion as your effective health (armor x health) and your effective heals (heals x armor) will be suboptimal. You either want max effective health or max effective health plus the average amount of effective heals you expect to be against in a typical battle (so you want your armor to be between equal to health/10 or higher depending on your playstyle – i.e. how many heals you expect per battle and how good you are at removing conditions.)
Full Carrion is better than full Khilbron/mixture of Khilbron and Carrion in these situations:
1) You don’t use Superior Sigil of Earth.
2) You expect to take a lot of condition damage that you expect to not be able to get off of you and/or you expect to take very little direct damage.
So Khilbron or a mix of Khilbron and Carrion isn’t outright better than Carrion as a Condition necro. It depends on your playstyle and what you want. Also, ther are other stat combinations tha can work, too.
I think you were the one who had trouble with the new Veterans as Condition Necro. I have absolutely no trouble against them and can take on multiple ones if I’m feeling like I want to be tedious and I’m using a mixture of those two stats. Maybe you can give that a try.
Thanks, I went back and got me a full set and I can instantly see the difference, I mitigate much better and have more condition damage due to the rune but I just can’t kill it :/
I’m talking about the one that ‘Transfers Conditions’ its the only one I came across that does that.
I don’t know if we are talking about the same mob, this vet ‘Transfers Conditions’ its not like the other vets and is right after that see through wall…In any case I want back again and Guardian is far superior :/
I don’t spend too much time in this forum because I am not really into how Engineer plays but had to come here and share a build and video that absouletly destorys players in seconds….ENJOY!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=PJkTMqJOWvU
Rifle Engineers can drop any one pretty fast, you just need to enjoy the play style which I don’t.
Like DS but hate that our damage inside DS drops so early or that it even drops PERIOD!
Why not give some kind of option like pets -not saying turn minion into fully blown out pets- so minion never agros anything on its own. This the way the player can simply click a box and the minion will never attack anything the master is not attacking!
http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=;044Z;1kHFG0G4sJkJ0;9;4TT9;036B18A1;6SNH6;2NV05NV051ce
Some one posted the above link last week -think it was the highest ranked tournament player named Powerr. Take a look at it though for solo play I don’t use any signets.
Advantages over full Carrion? As in why get Khil over Cari?
Hybrid Necro, one step away from a glass cannon, I can take the vet karka’s down just fine and i’m mostly in Yellows.
Learn2dodge?
Really I think for Necros a conditionmancer is bust, and frankly so is someone who goes pure Power/crit. You need to use all the tools provided, High power to for moderate bursting, condition damage for attrition. Death Shroud for survival and while skills are on cool down.
Tho yes I’ll agree, with a guardian I can wack away with a greatsword blindly chugging a beer and win, but the difference in kill time isn’t far removed from that of a Necro
I must be missing something then because my Guardian with a GS 0/0/30/20/20 I kill those vets so much faster and with no effort at all, just pop my shouts when and as needed and that’s it pretty much.
Necro Build: I use the same build for all forms of PvP but change some traits and utilities -though rarely.
http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=;044Z;1kHFG0G4sJkJ0;9;4TT9;036B18A1;6SNH6;2NV05NV051ce
(Above build is by player named Powerr)
(edited by Cempa.3645)
You can kill them with a necro just have to kite use skills well and know the class inside and out.
Guardian you just faceroll and win.
So yes bad game design.
That’s my point my Guardian just tanks the mob and kills it faster…My not be a necro issue but those are the two classes I play.
I have a Guardian and a Necro, Guardian is GS 0/0/30/20/20 and Necro is Condimaster. Both geared and I know what I am doing…
Ok the proof:
Go to the new zone and try to solo one of those new Veterans…
Necro sucks fail game design.
So the build would like this:
30/0/20/20/0
http://www.intothemists.com/calc/index.php?build=;08cZ;1kHFJ0D4oI-K0;9;4T-JJ-18A;119-26;2SRH6;29cV19cV16gH
Full Knight’s?
(edited by Cempa.3645)
Krizzy could you share the power build details you used with Golem?
I love minions and Axe game play style so take what I’m about to say as coming from a hardcore minion/axe fan: Its not fun due to bugs/fails.
The smallest change in elevation and my minion bugs out.
Fully traited Golem, I’m not happy with its mitigation.
Axe needs something more, give it a 1200 range, at 600 range its just not worth it.
I spent a fortune in gear and trying my best to get Axe—->Vulnerability——>Freeze——>Golem to work but between the buggy minion, buggy focus range and just flat out low axe #1 damage I started hating the game!
