The quantity actually did drop to Zero in June. I bought a while back and won’t be adding it to wardrobe. Prices went from ~1750 to 2500 once they hit zero. Limited time event specific items should be left at just that. those items are special to collectors. Those who don’t have them complain that they can’t get them. But when they’re available to all no one cares because everyone has it.
Also, Boons will be prioritized to party members rather than random nearby players.
If you’re there for the start your chances of getting credit are pretty darngood because you won’t be competing with others
I would like to play some Destiny Edge stories. Instance 5-man stuff where players could choose to be Snaff, Zojja, Eir, Logan, Caithe, and Rytlock. Like what they did with recent Caithe in the LS. Taking on the Dragons champions. The Dragonsspawn, morgus lethe, Destoyer of Life. The story is already there so they just need to make the content. Of course none of this will happen because of the XPAC
I don’t ever have any problems. It takes less than 5 minutes to do the daily for that map. What do you expect when u follow the zerg and rush every waypoint that’s linked? Learn which events spawn where. make an effort.
In other words, treat it like a job. Memorize what events spawn where and when. Don’t be exploring around, finding events as you explore (since that will only get you to events as they are ending). You’re not doing this for fun! Make an effort!
Bleh.
Before they ruined the event dailies I found the event dailies by exploring around. For fun you know. Crazy, wasn’t ’it.
Not like a job. Like a game. Where you have to learn things to do them. Not be handed to you on a silver platter. Make an effort.
Oh, please. It’s hardly difficult to figure out where events spawn and hang around those spots till they do.
Exactly. Hate the player, not the game. If you’re there for the start your chances of getting credit are pretty darngood because you won’t be competing with others who, just as OP implies, rush TO the event. Ever since I made the effort to type the 18 characters of “/wiki Snowden Drifts” and made the effort to find which events spawn where I have had ZERO frustration with that map.

A lot f you seem to miss that stacking is also to break LoS and pull enemies together or into a more suitable area for fighting. (THATS WHAT IT’S USED FOR) And I don’t know about you guys but I find AOEs tend to hit more often when the enemy actually stays in it instead of running out of it chasing other players around the map.
What do rifles have to do with Rangers?
Doesn’t being at max range allow you to stealth even better? Do you have any idea how stealthy real-life snipers can be?
How exactly does the GS work as a stealthy weapon? I don’t see it. And why doesn’t the ‘no precision’ thing of maces also apply to the GS? A GS is not a precision weapon.
It means they aren’t ranged attackers. There’s a reason they have 900 (mid)range. Staying at range completely nullifies STEAL as it puts you in their face which is a key mechanic of Thief in case you didn’t know.
No max range doesn’t allow you to utilize stealth better. It allows you to utilize it once. What would be the point of thief using Stealth if they just sit at max range? I do know snipers can be stealthy… until they fire. Their position is given and they’re forced to move. Where does agility come into play with snipers? It doesn’t.
GS works because their isn’t a font for sarcasm.
IDK why it won’t let me quote.
(edited by Chuck.8196)
Rifle is stupid and doesn’t fit. They’re not Rangers. Precision yes but shadow arts and agility doesn’t work at all. WTF is the point of max ranging when you’re agile/stealthy. A GS works better than a rifle if they gave it slow dmg with heavy stealth options. Mace obtains its damage off the sheer force of impact and requires NO precision which is uncharacteristic of thief. STAFF requires both agility AND precision and was used in GW1 for Shadow Arts. At end of GW1 they released a scythe with a melee Staff skin and melee staff has already been verified in HoT. There’s no doubting the staff
Nah it’d be staff. Called this along time ago. Part of “stick-fighting”.
mace wouldn’t work for this.

When you left the game was continuously being updated with new and fresh content. But now because of the expansion there is nothing new being brought to the table so the content has gotten stale. Most veteran players only log in for 5 minutes to do dailies and gain the daily login rewards. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself bored after hitting 80.
This screenie came out pretty good. Just happened to catch the right moment when i was blinding the Seraph with my glory. There’s a bit of the transition between Sunrise and Twilight in the trail.
I would definitely buy more plushies. And anything I can wear in public that would allow me to meet other players.
Super Adventure "Lunch"Box.

The first year about $200/month. The 2nd year about $100/month for first 6 months then 2nd half about $200 total. Since then Maybe $100. Now everything in gem store is ugly and the minis are all lame. Haven’t since then and don’t plan on buying more gems.
I’d like to see this too. Things that would require coordination between a large number of people instead of just " Run here and attack, now time to run back to here clear this, run back and attack, now everyone pop summons!" or “50 people here, now 50 more there, and the rest go there”. Zzzzz. If they can find a way to get multiple teams of 5 into one instance it would open up a lot of possibilities and remove a lot of the frustrations of open world. Multiple 5-man parties in FoW, or UW, or reviving Urgoz Deep.
This thread seems to be getting off topic.
SW does gives u shards but not at a very good rate. karma farming is still much better and fastest way to get shards. 1-3 from chest every now and then and on the rare occasion 10 from a chest. but that is completely inconsistent. Crests for vendor and chest is sooo slow. Karma is by far the fastest and easiest way. You Spend 1000 keys in SW and get maybe 100-125 shards. Or hit EotM karma train and get a stack in a couple hours. I’ve made 5 legendaries since SW released EotM is definitely the fastest. hands down.
…except you get karma in SW also.
From SW u get shards from crests, chests, and karma.
….except you get 10x as much karma from one event in EotM than you do in SW. Plus if you’re running chest, the chances of an event actually completing and NOT failing is slim to none. and 250 crests for 5 shards …ya no ty. You can run events all day and still not even come close to the amount you would get from karma in EotM.
ya the thing which hit me is if you are doing events, you are actually not chest farming. And if you chest farm, you’ll need to spend the crest and not doing events.
That’s why I don’t think SW farm is “that good” for karma(obsidian shard).
But I think you might underestimates the karma/crest you can get from SW events. If you actually just run all over the map and tag every events, the karma return is actually pretty great. Though people might despise you for playing that way instead of actually contributing.
Not only that the main reason so many people farm SW is it is by far the best way to get gold and karma at the same time.
Nah.I’m well aware of what you can farm. Gold yes. that’s exactly how i play when I’m actually doing events. Except I multi-box on 3 accounts. I tag every event that spawns. Watch the chat log and run in the order they spawn. At least, from the time I’m in until VW spawns. Then do Lab for the first round then find another map. repeat. It still doesn’t even add up to the Karma from other sources. It might seem like good amount at a glance but not when you compare it elsewhere.

So since they now have a team to specifically work on the game rewards and armors/outfits there should be no excuses for them to be able to revert outfits back to individual pieces.
You can keep posting tin foil hat but let me educate you on something. “Tin foil hat”` expression is derived from MKUltra experiments which, this may shock you, have been admitted to and proven true. So By saying “tinfoil hat” you are saying " protect yourself from the truth.’ Maybe someday these tools will get this instead of spouting off uneducated responses and phrases they read on the internet.First you can’t revert to individual pieces if they weren’t that to start with. And with individual pieces they would/should need to test them against all the other pieces they will be making contact with to check for major clipping issues. The one key advantage of outfits is that they pieces each are adjacent to is a known issue. It’s like Macs Vs PCs. One case you have a very limited selection of possible hardware configurations while PCs are nearly innumerable.
And I reserve my Tin Foil pics for players spouting that Nexon is forcing ANet or NCSOFT to do X or Y.
Except that originally “Town clothes/outfits” WERE individual pieces prior to the wardrobe change. So they could easily revert back to this. And since they have a team there shouldn’t be a problem with any testing, designing or the minimal changes that would need to be made. Not to mention the thousands of players who would point out what changes were needed.
So since they now have a team to specifically work on the game rewards and armors/outfits there should be no excuses for them to be able to revert outfits back to individual pieces.

8 Legendaries with 3 more waiting for me to buy T6 to finish.
Mini karka ( before they’re all gone) NOT ADDED TO WARDROBE
mini karka hatchlingsEDIT: Checked karka’s. they are gone!
Check the bank. There is another mini pet storage site there underneath the bank wardrobe. They’ve been known to move there.
Up there in the parenthesis where it says (before they are gone) and THEY ARE GONE i meant on the TP. Not my inventory.
if i still played like i used too. I dont know how many id have. but all i do is dailies now.

Just do what other Vets are doing. Just log in for dailies and go enjoy the summer months while they’re here. Soak up some rays. i wouldn’t expect many people to follow leveling videos. If they’re not exploiting something or explaining money making people don’t tend too care
I used 3 keys the other day. I got 1 scrap, 1 full ticket, a parrot delivery consumable, 2 teleport to friend and 2 boosters and i don’t remember what else but not anything significant. Its the first time i’ve used keys in probably about 2 months. I got these keys from mapping too. For some reason those ones give me better loot than key farming ones.
I would buy the sword if it was constantly extended. As it is the animation is so fast you can’t really see the chain unless you have a channeling animation (i.e. Mesmer Blurred Frenzy). Then the normal sword animations and particle effects block it out sometimes.
Outfit is meh. Anet should revert outfits/town clothes back to their original state of individual pieces. Who cares if the pieces cause clipping with some races or other gear. That’s not a big deal and can be fixed slowly as needed.
The topic is YOUR UGLIEST CHARACTER. not what can you make in the character select screen.
My Asura Guardian. Ugliest character I have.
Just take your charcter with the highest DPS and kill as many as you can asfast as possible. its open world PvE and you can do as you please. If people are DIRECTING verbally offensive or abusive language TOWARDS YOU they can and will be banned.
(edited by Chuck.8196)
PvP is about Player versus player not PvE so content is irrelevant. The entire plot/story for GW2 is PvE so that’s where all the changes/updates are required the most. The mists is just a branch off from it. WvW is getting new map with HoT because it’s expected of an expansion. Its competitive play with a few PvE installations to give it more variety of play. If there wasn’t anything added to WvW it wouldn’t be worthy of being called an “expansion” but a paid DLC. Borderlands have been updated before plus EotM added. So what would be the point of supplying content to it?
An account bound currency you must play the game to get. Buy/sell means you no longer have to play the game but can instead grind the same thing over and over that you ALREADY do for gold. For me I can never have enough karma cause i consistently spend it on shards for crafting legendary. The orrian boxes aren’t bad as you can get back 60-80% karma from the consumables plus the loot. Sure its not optimal but its not bad. And if karma is still you best way of getting linen I am laughing in your face and your waste of karma.
This is just more “I want it now/Make it easier thread”. For all we know there could easily be 10k+ AP available with HoT.
Norn duh. Humans would be too busy arguing and exchanging lies to take any action.
Must’ve been that one time thing. I can guarantee you there’s no difference.
i own both. i equipped both. same size, perspective.
most likely you directed at someone. Cussing will not get you banned but directing towards someone in a degrading or demeaning way. They probably did a week because you did not learn from the few hours.
Chuck that isn’t what this thread is about. Also you’re mis interpreting what Anet said. They are doing the next beta by both random email and by the portal drops. So if you didn’t get a portal drop there’s still a chance you get in through selection from email.
or you are misinterpreting and it means " If you aren’t selected from the mailing list you still have a chance to by looting a portal. The whole point of newsletter was to select a player base for the BETA’s. By making it available to everyone completely nulls there reasoning for newsletter. So RNG conundrum again.
But then why invite everyone to try for a portal if only those on the list could get one?
The mailing list got the first round of players into the stress test, the portals was the means to expand the number participation. Again under the rational that RNG is fair to all.
Fairness or to keep people playing. If you were TOLD it was only going to those who signed up and you didn’t sign up would you still farm for it? No. You’d be doing something more your taste instead of grinding dead maps. So as players obtain theirs map population would diminish until it was dead again. Gotta keep people playing to continue game production. What % of those who signed up got into the stress test? Most likely a small % leaving a plenty large source to pull from.

instead of just posting other peoples art and armor from other games just because they look good I’m going to actually give my idea.
I would like an armor with a passive effect that gives and aura or effect when equipping. Each couple of pieces would gradually increases the effect. Black flames or an aura, something of the such. And different pieces of different sets would have different colors. So you could mix and match your sets to achieve different appearances/colors.
Because the player base for beta has already been selected. The ones that signed up for the newsletter were thrown into the “qualify” loot table. Then a selection of those is chosen and they mark the account. For that player to receive they just have to farm maguuma waste. They’ll keep getting some until its over. So many will not get one because they weren’t selected from the “qualify” table. this is why some have farmed a couple days and have multiple. And others will farm there until it ends and get nothing. If it was really random that would select from the overall player base, not by signing up for a newsletter. Some would say “tin-foil hat” but those are skeptics who try to post as much as possible. Nothing is random when your in a controlled group.
Well that’s false, for one it’s getting the portal that sends the email and marks the account. Secondly I never signed up for the newsletter until after I had the portal.
Really? because, directly from the HEART OF THORNS BETA FAQ , i quote " *Our first beta test is used a very small group of players chosen at random from people who subscribe to our newsletter. Our next test will use this method as well as the “Portal to the Heart of Maguuma,” an in-game item which has a chance to drop from enemies in Dry Top and the Silverwastes. *
So you just admit to getting it without signing up. proof that there system isn’t working properly. Even if what I said IS false which wee don’t know.
@Andraus Misinterpretation only from creators PoV. To everyone else its poor wording. Should be OR then and not “as well as”

I am wondering why no dev is replying here. Would like to get an answer on why some players have 2-5 portals in a freaking day and others get nothing at all over a whole week.
Not kittened off that I have to farm or didn’t get a portal but this RNG thing is broken for sure and no dev comes to give info to us. for their own sake they should just reply and get over with it

I would never trust sites like these. Buy from the main site. Kind of gives me an idea. imagine if you buy a ton of 10$ copies next time then turn around and sell them for 20$.
Has there not been several times where the player base has raised issues, Arenanet have sworn blind that there is no issue, that players are mistaken. Only upon more pressure, investigated and found out that players were actually right?
Yes. In all those cases the playerbase either supplied some data, or was mostly united in asserting that the problem does exist.
There were also multiple cases where a group of players raised concerns, claiming that the problem was highly visible to the point of obvious (even when other players pointed out that there’s nowhere close to enough data to confirm that) and Anet’s check confirmed that the concerns were groundless.
Just look at all the “nerfed ecto droprate” threads after every big patch.Basically, if there is a problem that affects the game in a visible way, then it is possible to show it using data. If you can’t, then the problem either doesn’t exist at all, or has only a minimal impact.
No in all the cases the player base does not provide data. Some, maybe. it’s not the players job to provide the data. When there is a recognized growing concern its the companies responsibility to disperse it. also multiple cases where a group of players raised concerns, claiming that the problem was highly visible to the point of obvious (even when other players pointed out that there’s nowhere close to enough data to confirm that) were proven to be true and there was a problem.
ANET will not tell you if there’s a problem. because people would instantly flock to exploit. No one is going to tell you how loot works in games.
As for BETA, all the applicants have already been chosen. player base has been narrowed down to those who sign up for the news when it was distributed. Signing up after didnt work.

RNG could be working fine, if random numbers are being selected without repeating . Thats’s it.
It doesn’t mean it’s properly selecting from the correct ranges of all the loot tables and properly calculating MF, and dr. it could be broken and not selecting a proper roll because that table is broken. How do we know the SKU version (discontinued as stated by ANET) doesn’t have some break in its code. They don’t use that version anymore so what’s to say they’ve tested it compared to the new version. Alot of things could be wrong. Bugs/broken doesn’t exist until someone identifies it and says something. Then it becomes “known”. So just because they say something only makes it true from their perspective. Saying " RNG works as intended" is only a theory.
No they’re is no size difference. most likely your perspective towards another account you are seeing.
I would agree with the Ranger option. Try that one first. I play a friend who is also the same way. I tend to find her face tanking often. But she seems to do fine. She not so quick with dodges or using the right rotations. She can’t kill things META fast But shes alive and having fun
I hear they are working on an expansion. Radical changes to how loot is distributed would probably be implemented with the expansion, or put off until after it is released. In either case they probably won’t announce it ahead of time because it would disrupt players doing things now if they knew they could wait a few months and get a guarantee of better loot.
Fair points. On the other hand, I don’t think they’re going to do anything. After all, they’re “fixing” the precursor issue with masteries, and there’s very little else in the game that’s worth much of anything.
Yep. When people complain about not getting good loot, they almost always mean “I haven’t gotten the precursor I want yet.” Or more recently, “I haven’t gotten access to the beta yet.”
The arguments they use don’t even make sense, for example where this person is claiming that accounts that are played more get worse loot than younger or less played accounts and accounts should sit for at least two months to start getting good loot again.
Source
No it will not get bad loot. It will get good loot less often than a new account. There will be plenty of good stuff just less of it.
Do you understand?no it doesn’t have to sit. BUT If you would like to see an improvement in your loot, then you may allow it to sit. How long is required for improvement is unknown. i know 2 months for is enough though.
Do you understand? So, it’s still plenty of good loot but less of the good loot unless you let your account lie fallow.
I have no idea how a game would handle loot rolls with a ‘decaying’ (my term) RNG that turns into ‘non decayed’ RNG after an account sits for a couple of months.
my hypothesis makes plenty of sense.
probably the same way other games have had say “resting exp”. How can you gain exp without playing the game? The same way you could recharge your loot tables by not playing for a time. instead of exp OMG passive magic find buff bug. that we dont know yet. just maybe. Of course there’s not statistics or studies that you demand to see to show other wise right? The more you play the more MF you get that affects RNG to give you a higher chance at lower tier loot. That is how magic find works. Is it not? . 500% of .01 is a lot more than 500% of .0001. Simple math will tell you that. Why are you denying something that you’ve never tried?
Loot isn’t assigned until the player interacts.
The same thing was said in GW1 with each instance but i can prove that’s wrong by entering separate instances on separate accounts at the same time I can get the same mobs to both drop the exact same loot.
Magic Find alters you chance to receive a specific tier for loot tables . level, quality, etc are increased by % of magic find.
So the older your account gets and the more MF, the more blue green you get making your loot worse because its a much higher chance to get that low tier salvage stuff now (.01% chance with 500% magic find is now a 5% chance. but hey were not talking about MF . Were talking about the noticeable difference the increasing number of people are seeing in new vs old accounts and its symptoms/possible causes. and by new/old i mean the amount of time and /or how often they’re played.
(edited by Chuck.8196)
Did you read the part about age? His account is 3 months old so there’s probably no where near as much time. This would leave his loot Experience still up near the top good stuff. Are you expecting an immediate drop in quality? that would be too obvious.
mine on the other hand with 800+ hours in a much lower range of loot and over years old BUT still MUCH higher than my main. So i could let it sit and refill its loot experience until its in the good stuff again.
how do you even see a a contradiction between the two after comparison? So, you are saying
1) if it’s an old account, it will get bad loot unless
2) it’s an old account that was allowed to sit for months then it gets good loot until
3) it ages a bit more and no longer gets good loot and must be allowed to sit
4) or it’s a new account and will get good loot until an unspecified time, in which it becomes an old account and old account rules then apply. So, there are no old accounts that get good loot under your scenario. /shrug. I always thought my account I’ve had since launch did well. I’ve never had any complaints. I play every day and have made several thousand gold.
No it will not get bad loot. It will get good loot less often than a new account. There will be plenty of good stuff just less of it.
