usually the only npc’s with defiance bars are boss types. core mechanics werent meant to work on them as they are always immune to 90% of everything.
hate jormag… 2 reasons… 1st, if you drop him below 50% in the first phase, he heals to 50%… 2nd, the event takes to kitten long, 20 minutes to do a world boss is waaaay to long… for a WB.

You expect everybody to play like you but then get all kitten when other players who have different opinions want to play with only like-minded players. Sounds more like you’re the elitist who thinks they are better and right. We’re not trying to convert anybody, just keep them out of our parties. You’re actively trying to ruin our runs and join us even though we don’t want you and tell us about how we’re the devil.
Just because you’re pugging doesn’t mean you want the run to take 15 extra minutes because people are so stuck in their own selfish world that they think wearing clerics and not attacking anything is an acceptable thing to do.
I understand your point. But no need to turn that into a witch hunt either. I only ask for experienced 80 in my LFG for the last 3 years and the number of run that take 15min and more is very very few. It happen from time to time and it suck. But it’s not like one run out of two are bad.
Zerk Meta is the majority in the game and clerics guardian are the minority. That’s like Christian in america crying for more protection from sharia law and stuff.
I used an extreme example to get my point across. The same could be said for people running soldiers gear. It is infinitely inferior to zerker. It offers a slight boost survivability while offering a HUGE nerf to damage. This is due to the way that power, precision, and ferocity all work off of each other.
Another example would be condi, pre-condi change. It is much less of an issue now but it was a big deal and the same types of players who run selfish builds just because they “play how they want”continue to run similar things that simply don’t work.
Why should people be forced to carry these types even though they directly ruin the fun of those parties? I can honestly say if that is how you define elitist than I am not only an elitist I am proud to carry such a title.
This issue has already been hashed out, dont carry them, kick them as long as you have made sure you used the LFG tool properly (i.e. made sure you stated it was a zerker speed run with # AP points required). Also, try using friends and guildies for runs, I hear that works?
Everything you need to put a successful group together resides in 3 places… LFG tool, guilds, and friends.

first off Im not pugging… If I want a speed run, then I contact my friends who are doing speed runs and run with them. My second option is to be SPECIFIC in a LFG and 99 times out of 100, I dont have any issues with puggs trying to mess it up…. All this tool will do is reinforce false beliefs of who does what for dps and the group as a whole. And as stated before, If you cant already tell whos slowing your group down, then maybe you should look at yourself and try to figure out why you cant. Cuz any speed runner worth his salt, can pick up pretty quickly what the slow down is, and whos causing it.
I can go along with this, Maybe just move the world chest to a personal chest on the side above the map like other events. Open to any ideas for this really. I don’t usually disconnect, but it has happened to me on rare occasions, so I see the need for it.

if it is just a capture then I dont see any issue, but if you are running a seperate prog to analyze and then lock cursor or clicks to it, then yes it becomes a hack/cheat… as an indirect result of using a capture app. Especially one not made by a reputable company like nvidia or overwolf etc… I stand by my original statement… I wouldnt do it.

not saying any and all screen capture is bannable, just saying for the purpose of PvP I have seen screen capture used to auto target say…. mesmers after decoys are placed etc… clearly giving an advantage etc… like i said, submit the code for parousal so they know nothing nefarious is being used. I dont have first hand knowledge of any wrong doing, all I know is that it has been used in FPS’s specifically to auto target players, it can be used here for the same purpose.
funny how convenient that a “bug” hits on the exact item so many are dying to get their hands on…
as a side note… screen capture is also a way simple auto targeting hacks work… give you an advantage in pvp too… I would say no.
heh… hax…..tester…. lol. I can think of a thousand sinister things a screen capture app could do to break the game and the eula… better submit the code to anet and let them look it over or somethin… sounds fishy, and highly bannable to me… but its just my opinion.
yea… the content drought has killed alot of players in this game. I hope to see more content released alot sooner from this. Hopefully NCSoft has gotten all the money they think they can get from us here and is turning it over to Anet to see what they can do with it. Hopefully we will see alot of new events and story things to come!
NCSoft wasn’t stopping Anet making content all the decisions for the live game are up to Anet NCSoft only had a say in the boxed content at release.
actually they did, read the prior scenario…. they may not have had a public role in the decisions, but you can bet your sweet bottom anet knew who held the purse strings and catered to that… all it takes is a whisper in the riight persons ear…
You are allowed to make your own group in the LFG tool area. Create one for the type you want to play and it will fill within 5 minutes. If it doesnt fill, then you are just on at a very bad time or something…

This is how I see their relationship. While Anet has some freedom to study and do what it wants, the purse strings still belong to NCSoft who might also own certian software licenses and copyrights etc, to make life very hard if they choose to…. You are smart enuff to figure out the rest from here I think!
ok, gonna address all 3 of you here…
1st. it is nothing like the high end luxury car market, as those are made yearly, also add in that it is a degradable item, cars are, and that there are enuff wealthy people in teh world to keep that market alive. There is simply no demand for it here, and even if I relented and said there was, there are not enuff people that can get them to satisfy them all. 5 skins left in teh world… 5 out of thousands get them…
2nd. Thats nice that your friend bought one, now theres only 4 left… after sitting 2 years on the market… people must be buying them left and right!!! /endsarcasm
3rd. and what you are NOT getting is that not everyone was around for the first event that dropped these… and even some people maybe were away on holiday and not ingame during these events. Yes I mentioned gemstore and token system and all that, but it doesnt have to be tied to those things… re introduce them the same way they were earned the last time then, or make it harder, hell I dont care as long as its obtainable.

I say reintroduce the skins, if anything, make them a gemshop item or tie them to the candy corn cob token system.

i wanted the skin, i grinded like crazy and i bought the skin. (back when it was 1,3k, but gold was a lot harder to come by)
right now the skins are around 4k, spend afew hours playing and you can easily get 40g, thats 1% done already, do that each day and you’ll have the skin by december 10th.THE SKINS ARE STILL AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO WANT THEM.
the fact that there are still skins available but none of you are willing to buy them speaks volumes about how much you actually care about them.
they’re there, go get them if you want them, otherwise stop trying to devalue it for those of us that did the grind that you CBA to do.
still doesnt explain the fact of how 20 skins = a market… and while yes we have had 2 years to save up for one, no one wants to pay that kind of a price for it… hence why it has sat on the makrket for 2 years with no demand for it. as for playstyle being dictated by a meta, thats your issue, as you can choose to make things a bit harder for yourself by choosing to play those other playstyles… it seems “there” is the hard content you all seem to crave as well. If you cant choose to play a different way because it wont give you your reward fast enough, then thats your issue.

one last thing, Legendary armor wont be any higher in stats then the Ascended versions, so really its just a reskin issue.
they already do this with salvage kits, harvesting kits. its no different except for how often its used. That might cause some issue, but I highly doubt it for armor. People already own multiple sets to hot swap, and I cant imagine sales of the extractor being anything more then already stated, to extract a high end AR part. To me even though I dont run alot of multiple sets of armor often, it would still be a worthwhile thing if sold around the 1k mark. Those who dont want to pay can still swap the runes like normal. its not like that option would be disappearing.
Maybe…. JUST Maybe…. Legendary armors will have selectable STATS and RUNES!

not to get all techncal, but we are partly on a vertical progression here. Anet has stated that you “WIL HAVE” to get masteries in order to handle the new harder content. While it isnt a level up type progression, we have been told we earn masteries the EXACT same way as leveling… So basically its a level treadmill progression minus the official tag of a level… its a sneaky way of catering to white knights through technicalities… but keep on being lemmings!!! by all means!!!
The issue is not if there is a check or not.
It’s about:
-a vertical progression (and with masteries, sure it is a progression. Still don’t know how much “work” it requires but: no matter if easily gained as exotics, but ascendeds is a dramatic, mandatory stat for FOTM.. and a hard grind. I expect them to be sufficiently long process to keep players busy for a while.),
-grind (as seemingly you need exp, and although it can be done with non repetitive tasks, there always a more efficient way. I can gather gold, dragonite ore and silk to afford a full ascended set or a legendary weapon, also playing casually…but in a unreasonable amount of time.)
and treadmill (not a gear treadmill. but a exp treadmill? a specialisation/mastery treadmill? still here it is: because if a player logs in after a while, if he was once on a par with other players, but they kept playing…he is no more even with them – ).These are my personal reasons not lo log in anymore to gw2.
I won’t argue if manifesto was a realistic one, if they lied or not…
but nothing changed about the things I listed above. So no reasons to come back to play with the exp.

As for Gear check in Dungeons… My personal fav is to keep a set of that zerk gear and food handy, just to post it for them, then get in there and run whatever the hell I want. 9.9 times out of 10, it makes 0 difference… Usually that .1 percent is missing dodges etc… or laggyness
any word on what they may or may not do for those who already own all the dyes? I havent been keeping track, so hoping something might get discussed here.
yea, i got the same problem, i found a fix tho. It would seem that when I attemptto play sober, I dont get the double vision issues. I also noticed an increase in productivity and loot too!

At most your gonna kitten off 5 people that have taken the chance and marked there items way too kitten high to begin with. they arent punishing anyone, get that out of your mind right now… If it does stick, its a reward for those that had the utmost faith in the game/company and were rewarded with it by 5 kitten points…. there is no principle arguement here… you either pay early and participate, or you dont and miss out on 5 kitten achievement points. its no different then getting the 4000 gems, mini, and host of other assortments the pre payers got.
make it usable only on party members then.
Its a nice little extra reward for those who have purchased early and shown a little bit higher level of faith and commitment to the testing is all. if its only 4-5 points, It shouldnt be anything noticeable at all. you can run 12 games of sanctum sprint or any other achievement similar to get that. hell thats not even half a daily for spending several weekends testing or what have you. Much less 1-2 hours for 10 daily AP’s.
TLDR; I wouldnt worry about it its only 5 points…..
