ok first off… im sensing rehashed ideas in the “had to get creative” aspect of this legendary revamp… so far everything but the small nuances of the weapons themselves is all old content being recycled to look new… staff is 3 years old for chr ists sake, the axe is just a reskin of twilights blue reflection area and the pistol is just a rehash of bolts particles on a slightly tweaked aether pistol. nothing is from scratch… i.e whiteboard session.

secondly why does it matter whether manipulators are in game wanze? I’ll tell you why… said manipulator just gets more ability to manipulate and drive up prices… they now have more money to seize whole sections of an economy and determine prices

last… you all laughed me out of the community years ago when I speculated and showed bits and pieces of how Anet was manipulating the market to jim up or down prices….. this whole blog is proof of that focus…. And I will wager there is more manipulation by them to the market other then they have already divulged as well… I can picture a bot they use to snag up all items in a category below certain prices just to maintain what they feel is the proper “balance” to an economy….

Maybe they wanted people to have a chance to get tons of exp on their level 80s while playing the holiday content and have the ability to progress their Tyrian Mastery tracks. If they have the Holliday before the expansion, all those levels you gain on a level 80 in the Labyrinth are worthless.

this was my exact thoughts on this. TONS of xp gets accumulated in these events… xp that can go towards your basic tyrian masteries… Just relax… HoT will still be there after Halloween is a distant memory….

it depends on your definition of “win” here…

for example… there are new skills that you can only acquire by spending money and buying the expansion. While these skills are not necessarily more powerful in design then the current skills you have, and they can be countered with the current skills you have, they nonetheless have different “tells” and animations that are new and could give psychological benefits for/against you/your enemy for 2/3’s of game modes. So there is a Yes, but No factor in play here.

on to the next way…. cash shops… if your definition is winning by aquiring every type of mini/armor/outfit/dye/tool etc etc… then yes its almost a definite pay to win, cuz it takes thousands and thousands of gems to aquire all the gemstore has to offer… technically you COULD use gold to convert, but that will only ever be attainable by a resounding 2% of the population as I can gaurantee that the vast majority doesnt have the time it would take to farm up the gold to convert to get everything there is…

While I like the idea of the effects changing, I think I would prefer to have the look selectable instead of class/race based. On the other hand though, I doubt they would put the time and effort into making yours or my idea come true here. It would likely take too much time.

There is a similar issue as well with the way certain sigils work in the same situation… any sigil that gives a bonus to speed, power, prec etc per kill, will disappear whenever you enter the water UNLESS you have that same sigil equipped on your water weapon as well.

yep, if I like the new halloween content I will play it first as any xp gained there would go towards tyrian masteries anyway (which I think is a big part of the reason they launched it with HoT btw) Really hoping you guys do a good job on this content with halloween… its my favorite time of the year, and not only cuz of GW2, I just love halloween in general. Would hate to see another fiasco like the mordrem events, so, here’s hoping it will be great!

Always do what you can to prudently keep your info… but be realistic to the fact that you are not gonna stop someone from getting it and selling it. It WILL happen, and likely without you ever knowing it. No matter what OS you run or search engine you use or company you buy from. If you have a credit card, bank account, shop online, or just plain surf the web, its a 99.99999% likely hood someone out there will have most of your basic info… which is no more then what win10 gathers anyways.

The lore blog post for exalted says they have a golden city. Well, that doesnt mean it will be a city like LA and DR, it could be more akin to EH.

hehe i will, my first thought was shoulder armors when I clicked. Was never a fan of the lopsided shoulder armors… but thats just my taste.

I look at it as preventing depression… I dont want to kill the mood gaile, but the track record here isnt very good. there has been no content most of this year, what little was released was not done very well and sometimes removed cuz it was so buggy.

That being said, past Halloween events have been very good, even if they were a little rehashed. I always look forward to this time of year with you guys. I will look forward to the events should they happen. I sincerely hope you guys have an awesome bash planned for us. (crosses fingers… hopes for best, but plans for the worst…)

I upgraded to 10, two weeks ago… bought a new SSD to do a fresh install onto. I can go from power off state to choosing my character in less then 30 seconds… plus use Norton AV installed (dont even hassle me on Norton vs others, been using it since 95 and only twice in that time have a i caught a virus… tested other avgs as well…) Make sure you have the hardware to support it or you wont see a drastic increase in performance.

srsly… this sounds like the anet team is looking forward to joining “our” events… which is code for… “we dont have anything to offer, but can we join yours and have fun?” i dunno… maybe im wrong, but Idont have much faith in anet and its LS or events and celebrations anymore, so Im not expecting much TBH.

Sorry OP, not much recourse unless you can prove with video that he is targeting you and all that… my suggestion is to log on to another toon for 5 mins and manage your inventory or something, then come back to your other character as the likelyhood of him not being there will be good, as will your chances of just loading into another instance of the map altogether.

I took the 26th off for just that reason. Bugs will be high the first few days, so I will be focusing on Halloween as it is a limited time thing, and will return to play HoT when that’s all done. I would suggest you all do the same!

i agree… they likely wouldnt consider it. The world is starting to trend against smoking in general. I know there is always a huge push back against smoking in the US. I think thats why they wouldnt be willing to introduce it. US laws against minors smoking etc…

so tell me… how is laboring in the field to pick produce for an hour to sell it to someone who doesnt want to labor themselves in that field… any different principally or morally from someone laboring in a dungeon for an hour to sell a spot to someone who doesnt want to labor themselves in that dungeon?

there should be no worries for you OP, this raid is gonna be the first of a series culminating in a final boss kill that wont be released till after HoT comes out anyways… all it might do is spoil the first wing of the series is all.

Honestly it would be cool IF the cow cannon would be well done. As it stands, the one you see in open world is “meh” designed. Not visually but technically.

icwutudedthar. i think cannon was correct. he didnt reference the one in the map, and goes with the whole shooting out he was talking about. I would prefer it as a cannon too, like the big long ones at the circus. maybe even make it so it shoots your whole guild out of the cannon into the guild mission area! could you imagine 200+ people all rolling in he sky and landing and bouncing at the target location?! would be fun! I like it, I have done it on occassion, but not as a mainstay. It takes the average player a half-hour to an hour with a decent group to get thru most arah paths… you can currently farm 10-12 gold an hour in sw/maize/etc… most those paths sell for between 3-10 gold a run, saving time for those that either dont have alot of it, or dont want to spend hours doing it so that they can get tokens for an item they are looking to buy. I see nothing wrong with it as long as its done legitimately and is ok with the game admins.

true, there is entertainment value in it, but when you buy alot of keys with gems, that value is very dependant on what you get as a result. Cuz I think ultimately, one buys ALOT of keys hoping to beat a certain threshold of odds, and is often time disappointed in the results. I would like to see a change to this, but what change, I dont know yet.

As pact leader he is expected to constantly take part in military meetings, development of military plans, project approval, planning the locations of Pact bases, Resource management, Recuitment of Pact members, constantly developing political connection, complete the piles of daily Paper work on his desk in his office, and etc even when a operation to kill aElder Dragon is not going on so our character doesn’t have to do all these tasks.

What does our character do when he or she doesn’t need to go kill a Elder Dragon or save the world? Adventuring and freelancer jobs.

this is all irrelevant… we see none of this… we read none of this, so this is all conjecture the player is forced to make up or imagine as an afterthought. Trehearne is spotlighted and this story event revolves around him. That is why people dont like him. theres no backstory of him with 90% of the other races, he pops out of nowhere weilding some sword and commanding all of tyrias forces with all the dramatic monotone fashion of a garbage pail… he needs to go… permanently…

No it wouldn’t. At least not with the system I propose. First of all he would need to take all his character (5 at max to be in the same party) around the area of the heart. Meaning he will need to move all 5 of them for each heart.

After that the amount of work would be equal. If he need to do 10 actions to complete the heart in solo. He will need to do 50 actions to complete the heart of all 5 character at the same time. It’s the same amount of work.

My recommendation is to find a good guild to join. They can help you with a wide variety of things that will help you level up. If you want 6-7 quick levels, try yourhand at a crafting guide. If you dont have the gold or materials for it, there are people in the guilds that will be willing to help you with it, just dont be demanding or an azzhat and most people will be helpful to you. Second best way IMHO is to map complete. Go find all teh hearts/vistas/POI’s/ and waypoints on a mp. do the events you run across in between them too, events can be almost a good a source of xp as mapping. Especially if you can find the ones that run in a chain event.

you guys still havent figured it out yet… you are a cog in the cash machine for anet. You are not supposed to have fun… you are not supposed to be a hero or the focus… The onlything you are allowed to do of your own free will and volition is throw cash/credit cards at your screen for anet.

on a more serious note, it is likely it was causing other code to function improperly. but on the off chance it is not, I would like to thank the dev team for focusing on non issues over the real issues. Otherwise, thanks for the fix!

easy way to tell if you are in the same map or not is to look at the portraits. If it is all black after they load in, then you are in a different instance. If you can see their face and outfit, then you are in the same map.

No… every year this gets asked for… last years you could have lottery for them… or GOD FORBID you could have could have farmed your kitten off at SOME point in the last 3 years to buy it…

I was here when they first came out. I could have picked up the Scythe skin then. I didn’t because the only class it worked for was Necro and the Necro staff animation didn’t and doesn’t sync with the skin. It’s now three years later and finally there is a new class that uses staff in melee, and wouldn’t you know the skin looks amazing for those animations. There is no way, though, that I’m farming for 3000 gold. I have much better things to do with my time than that.

They should have come back every year. There was really no good reason for them not to, and never has been. Exclusivity isn’t a good reason and never has been. They would still be worth a lot during the off season, but not this absurd value. Also with the influx of new players, bring them back and let them have a chance at them. It’s not like anyone even uses that skin, I have personally seen it used, at most, one time ever.

1st yr halloween items are definitely prestige items. If you see someone with one you can bet with probably 80-90% certainty they were actually there for the first Halloween. ..

Except how you can’t because they’re for sale, therefore anyone could have picked them up for exorbitant prices at any time. Only two skins require you to have been there. I have both of them. Mad Memories and Mad Memories complete edition. Those are the legitimate prestige items.

I would love to see them bring the quest back too, eliminating even that because prestige is stupid.

Then let’s just open up every skin in the game to everyone who wants them… FILL THE WARDROBES I SAY!!!! BC I’m entitled to everything! Even if I wasn’t there or am too lazy to grind the gold to get it! My entitlement gives me that right!
