This is a good idea, and not at all difficult to do and balance I would say.
I would also like for them to allow us to slot different runes, and have all runes give up to 6 stackable bonuses, so you can mix everything! Build diversity and theorycrafting are very important for PvP!
Burn Guard is fine and healthy for the meta, burst-assassination should not be the exclusive domain of power builds. Yay for Burn Guard, Burn Engi and Poison/Traps Ranger!
I think Ele could use a small buff to bleeds and maybe get some confusion on Scepter Earth 3? Condi ele build is not in a very good spot. Nerfing the burns on dagger skills was a right move… Not even a nerf for fire ring vs sufficently skilled players.
(edited by Cristobal.8640)
Flamestrike: Casting time reduced by 33%. Deals increased damage to targets unaffected by Burning. (x3 or something like that, good burst after switching to fire, punishes cleanse spam and condi immunity)
Shatterstone: Radius reduced by half, now pulses 1s of Chill every second, twice before exploding. (Balanced by very small AoE, opens up nice tactics, picture whack-a-moling someone XD. Half radius is consistent with the animation also)
Arc Lightning: Is now unblockable. (Why not? It needs a buff and this would be better than straight damage, scepter is already on the strong side when it comes to damage despite the weak AAs)
Stone Shards: Now blocks up to 3 projectiles directly in front of the player during the second half of the casting animation (3/4 seconds, happens just as the stones are thrown, great thematically and is a counterplay skill, yay!)
Dust Devil: Now also slows for 1 second.
(edited by Cristobal.8640)
dude this build is sick… The survivability is incredible for a burst ele spec. Warriors and rangers give me problems but kudos to you.
With Rangers all I do nowadays is burning all defenses to close the gap quickly and burst them, Signet of Stone is pretty disruptive tho. If the ranger doesn’t engages you from range its way easier tho.
Warriors shouldn’t be much of a problem if you play their game, long fights tho. Try saving lightning flash, updraft and the like for defense until you can burst the warrior. Rampage is pretty powerful but should be tankeable on earth. You can switch to water without getting more damage than you heal before switching back to earth if you have your defenses ready.
I’m glad you are enjoying the build
Consider a reaper with Chill on Blind and Vulnerability on Chill traits, as well as Master of Corruption.
Consume Conditions would transfer as: Blind, Chill, 8 Vulnerability (+16% Crit chance with the trait). Not bad, and we get our best heal with 10sec less CD. Blood is power self inflicts 2 bleed and 2 torment, and also gives 2 bleeds to the enemy. 8 Might on a 20sec CD…
The others could use some work for sure…
This may sound strange, but I have played for some time a similar build to get away from D/D Cele (and I guess now Tempest too ) … except I used Conjure Earth Shield instead of Arcane Shield. It gives you two more AE interrupts, a block, and an invulnerability. The auto attack is worthless though.
I run Earth Shield sometimes on LR builds too, its quite nice. Actually Lightning Hammer is nice too, you do Skill 5, so AOE stun field, then you push them to it with the blow skill, then you do a Dazing leap finisher with the Q. At least 3 guaranteed procs that way, probably more. Both weapons combo nicely with Staff Lightning Rod too, which is already incredibly OP (Adds respectable DPS to staff air and earth attunements). Earth wall doesn’t even have an AOE limit, the lightning bolts spam in Zerg v Zerg is beautiful…
In pvp, consider something like Staff Air 5, followed by Earth Shield aoe Pull from inside the field. 6k Big aoe guaranteed damage and great disruption.
ran it for quite some weeks too and its strong. the downside is if u get focused by more than one u either run or die, rangers/range outside of 1v1 in general, conditions despite the healchoice condi pu kills u and there r a lot of em.
still dont get the rod trait as freshair does more dmg + hits more often + u get blind on demand. i do get the air aura trait as it is a passiv defense.
LR is the core of the build, and ensures all the burst is AOE. Earthquake+Updraft add 6k AOE burst, and weakness. It’s actually good in 1v2, as good as it is 1v1 vs certain combinations, but you gotta have all your cooldowns for that. FGS is key to 1v2+
This one doesn’t really play like fresh air does, fresh air is not even close when it comes to burst, you can’t take down a medium or heavy class in just one combo. Fresh air has way more sustained DPS and possibly survivability depending on how you build it.
LR Also means you camp earth and start combos from earth, maximizing both defense through stoneheart and sheer burst damage, leaving the entire fire attunement for downed people, ressers and all that.

Filthy dualists!
I have fond memories of beta testing IRO. They are making another called, Tree of Savior.
I have faith!
Mmm i would love the idea but be realistic that’s a hell of change that also would bring more problems than solutions.
I feel the exact opposite. It’s a significant change, yes, but it could be worth it for Anet to explore and look into.
Then they can wash their hands completely when it comes to AI, players would make amazing scripts.
One of the games I remember most fondly, Ragnarok Online, had a class with an amazing pet mechanic, the Homunculus. You had to craft them and then raise them, keep them fed. On the Homunculu’s management window, you could select a file to give your pet AI, it used the .lua proramming language. You could also control your pet manually, order it to move etc. People made and shared fun and effective scripts.
Is anything even a little close to that possible for Gw2? Maybe just an in-game programmable AI with some options, like don’t stand there dying to AoE like a dumb lettuce, use skill X on Y conditions, etc.
All right, let’s make Celestial DD elementalists have a DPS comparable to Zerk staff eles in PVE, that’s going to be very balanced yay!
I liked DT on-target, even for pvp. You could just target the right people, usually someone trying to ress, and cast it without LOS while moving the other way and focusing yourself and your view somewhere else. Lands more often than not in team fights anyway. I hope they make it fall twice as fast
Druid will always have Lunar Impact (A 3s AOE daze on kitten CD in Celestial Form). Trapper gets one trap with knockdown, so that’s already 2 AOE procs for the trait, if used well.
SB 5 also dazes, long enough to proc the trait from a following AA…
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQNAV3IjMqQ7K2tCUtQgRo4C4yDgWnn0A-TpxBwAc3f4yRAAwFAwbZA9PAALHEAA
SB 5 has an 8s CD with Quick Draw <3
With Glyph of Equality or maybe just Lightning Reflexes…
+ Druidic Clarity (Cleanse all condis on Celestial Form entry)
+ Natural Stride (+33% passive speed, -33% less duration on chill, cripple and immob)
+ Ancient Seeds
EDIT: Why is the game censoring “5s CD”?
(edited by Cristobal.8640)
I run double GS with valk, remorseless+quickdraw. GS Staff is going to be brutal, quickdraw on staff <3
And kittening dragons!
I predict they will nerf We Heal as One after someone records a video of a ranger easily stacking permanent quickness.
Your PVE whining fuels my joy, Druid is kittening awesome and it is going to make pvp very, very fun with the ranger.
It is not a “Healing spec”, its a traitline which grants a pretty neat form with powerful healing, you still have two other traitlines… Some of the Druid traits look amazing, 5 bleed and immob on a 10sec CD every time you hit someone CCed? Dazes and stuns, extra stealth? Cleaning 13 conditions on entering form? Man, I’m going to have a blast playing this.
It perplexes me how you people still want just bigger numbers so you can kill dumb AI, not even effectively (Every prof already does that) but fast enough so that you get your little boxes with more boxes inside. Seriously, if you want decent PVE. ask for that. Stop asking for classes to be high DPS worthless kitten just so it can be “viable”.
Wow what an attitude to have. I am not a pvp player, but I never tell them to just shut up or say things like their complaints “fuel my joy.”
I do look forward to trying druid because I was a healer in WoW. But I also like to dps and will want to still do that from time to time. The new spec has no synergy if you want to be a dps spec in pve. If our core class was amazing, this wouldn’t be a problem. But our core class has issues. Now hopefully the new balance patch will fix this, but who knows…
Thing is, PVE is in a bad state. I admit our core class has issues, but they aren’t that bad, and they certainly aren’t what keeps ranger from being enjoyable in PVE for some people. If all you wan’t are the higher numbers, why not just play another class for the dungeon? If you don’t care about the highest numbers and want to have fun with a class you enjoy, why not do that? I used to play PVE, on a Dire necro, never even got kicked out of a group or anything, just had fun. Ok, you want to do “competitive” (lolwhat) damage in PvE, with the exact build and class you want to… In a perfect world, all classes would have access to all weapons, balance would be perfect and you could play anything anywhere on any role, with enough drawbacks to make it fun for everyone. Unfortunately, Anet doesn’t really balance their different game modes separately.
OP……………
:)

Glyph of Hurricanes
Duration: ?s
Cooldown: ?s
Pulses AoE Swiftness centered on ranger, one pulse per second.
Increases projectile speed of nearby allies by 20%, same range, while slowing enemy projectiles by the same amount.
For the duration, the Druid reflects projectiles which have been reflected, these projectiles gain 50% increased speed, ignore reflection and pierce multiple targets.
Reaper of Grenth has always been OP, I used it on WvW on my ele and it was amazing. You can even take the trait to stack vulnerability on chill with necro, and every pulse will apply it. Go human if you want it but I personally don’t consider it worthy the loss of aesthetics unless you plan to run it on WvW, PvE is whatever and you don’t really need to optimize that hard for something that is easy and gets done in sleep mode anyway.
The Sylvari turrets are not a bad elite for WvW either, 3 sec invul is nice for classes which have none, like Necro.
Thanks for the program tip, I never could enjoy 30fps after getting used to 60.
Focus doesn’t work, I tried it extensively and it simply lacks the burst, Comet is subpar and you really benefit from all the no cast time skills, RtL+Updraft add a lot of to the burst, right on air, and earthquake is the standard opener for a lot of reasons (Earth synergy everywhere)
Focus works better in DPS builds that are not strictly based on combos, a D/F Marauder with Lightning Rod works too, but its another build with another playstyle. Water skills are way better defensively on dagger too, so its not that bad.
The only reason this build works is because it does manage to burst people extremely fast from a variety of positions and situations, you loose that on focus, you don’t even have a reliable opener.
Gyros should have fuel, fuel should dictate duration and damage on explosion. You can self destruct your Gyros, but there should be a trait that makes them explode when attacked with some conditionals. (On death by burn/crit?) It would conjure nice tactics, you could detonate a gyro right away, sacrificing its effects to do more damage with more fuel. Your enemy could burst down a Gyro right away to negate the effects, but cause an explosion, we could get interesting traits playing with the the fuel mechanic.
Not a bad nerf actually, do it!
Ive wanted to do a nice video, sadly my PC runs the game at constant 60fps but I turn FRAPS on and it downs to 30fps
Anyone knows a program that records without fps loss? is that even possible?
I want replay feature!
Being displeased by all the celestial cheese going around these days, I share my most beloved build <3.
I have been playing variants of this ever since Lightning Rod was introduced, it packs the best burst in the game and now that we have 3 traitlines, it can survive just fine. I won’t go into too much details as this one is a fairly advanced build (Strictly combo based) Anyone trying it should familiarize themselves with ele mechanics. It has a high learning curve and until you manage to make it work, it fails hard, really hard. You’ll need a mouse with some extra buttons and clever hotkeys to play this fluidly.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQJArYhMMokh9MwzB8RMIBYzHYCkCl7YA4EWPhmwRA-TJBFABIt/g4lBY4EAAwDAAA
Air line is self explanatory, Lightning Rod hits for 3k and procs from Earthquake, Updraft and Tempest Defense. Weakness from Lightning Rod is also very very nice.
Earth line is incredibly important, Stone Heart + Ether Renewal will cary your kitten alive through pretty much anything. Geomancer’s Freedom is also key, as you actually start your bursts from earth attunement, you need the CD reduction on Earthquake. Passive Earth Armor is good and adds to passive Arcane Shield on Arcane line as well as Tempest Defense. These kind of defenses are nice on burst characters, as thieves runing Vamp signet demonstrate.
Finally, arcane traits are also self explanatory. The important thing here is to get used to Elemental Surge… Immobilize from earth is amazing, as you start your burst in earth. +150 Ferocity obviously helps, and you will have this permanently. Blinds and Chills are also useful when used right, even burn has its uses to enable Fire Grab.
The most powerful combo is as follows:
From comfortable earth attunement, prepare your Rock Barrier and, having your enemy on sight, cast Earthquake anywhere and mid air, Arcane Blast your enemy while simultaneously throwing your Rock Barrier. Before your earthquake finishes casting, Lightning Flash on top of your enemy and switch to Air attunement. At this point, earthquake should be landing and procing Lightning Rod, Air sigil and Hydromancy (Hydro crits for 2.5k+) have gone off too, also electric discharge from the trait. From air attunement, cast Lightning Strike, RtL and Updraft.
Yeah, lots of skills. What all of them (Minus Earthquake) have in common is a cast time of exactly 0, with quick fingers and clever hotkeys you can do that whole combo before anyone can react. (Delay the LF jump) The entire combo downs a heavy golem, and then you have all of your fire attunement to finish downed players, something at which S/D excels (It is faster to do a standard fire combo on a downed player than to down it manually, it is also faster to kill someone from 100 to truly dead than it is to res an ally manually.)
I leave to you figuring all the tricks that make this a viable build and not the one chance gimmick it certainly looks like at first, be smart when you engage, coun’t dodges, check stability/invuls, bait. Most of your skills have no cast times and can be used together, chained or comboed in a lot of ways… Forget about might and blasting fields.
Defensively, if you are sustaining damage on earth it will not be worthy to switch to water for the heal, even with Frost Aura, however, if you want to go defense from any attunement do go water before earth. Arcane Shield + Frost Aura + Switch to earth + Ether Renewal is a good all purpose panic button.
And you have the glorious FGS, for when all else fails (Or you are feeling slow) Combined with Stone Heart and this build’s offensive stats, its pretty kitten OP. Feels like an actual elite.
Thieves: Very Easy, they explode with passive procs alone, as you camp Earth they can’t touch you. React fast if engaged by one in a teamfight and it will go boom. You will get a lot of hate from thieves, it will feel unfair having to chew through Stone Heart + 2 Arcane Shields + Tempest Defense just so you switch to air and it dies from the sigils procs.
Rangers: Can be tricky if you don’t bait the invul, you should win anyway but you might have to entertain the ranger for a while and be good with all your active defenses or it will kill you fast outside of earth. Can be 100-0 with some combos.
Necro: A Joke, just burst them down without regards to anything. You can time the stab pulse on Lich and your 2 consecutive CCs to bring down a lichform in one burst.
Guardian: Fair fight, make sure to cleanse a reasonable amount of burn with Cleansing Wave before you use your heal, or a clever Guard will kill you.
Engineer: Gimmicky fight, you can do the complete combo on one at the start and instantly kill it, they usually won’t expect it. Good ones can be annoying tho.
Mesmer: Fair fight outside of earth attunement, but you can stale a fight by going earth and sustaining with your heal. Prepare to unleash the combo as soon as the mesmer pops up, beware their passive stealth trait, it will make you waste air skills if you overdo the burst.
Warrior: Easy if you don’t kitten it up. Have to entertain it for a while on earth attunement, until the window of opportunity appears. Might even have to use the FGS to further entertain before bursting a second time. They can’t kill you if you play well. Keep your rock barrier up when entertaining.
(This build fails with D/D, Scepter actually is very very important! Yes, even considering the Shocking Aura synergy)
I know I did a half job at explaining everything so feel free to ask.

Since quickness now stacks…
With the following core + 1 Rage Sigil: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQBJUyCBRExrzTAA-TZghAAw+DAA
We get the following sources of quickness:
Sigil of Rage – 4s on a 30s CD
Pet Swap – 4s on a 15s CD
Q. Zephyr – 8s on a 60s CD, 48 if traited.
I. Reaction – 4s on a 20s CD
The calculator is missing some duration because it doesn’t factor Lingering Magic, but those are the durations with 35% boon duration. Chained they add to 20 seconds, at which point you will at least have one source off CD. With some gimmicks (+Boon duration) this results in easy perma quickness in PvE or WvW but I don’t care that much for those. In PvP, it results in a rather acceptable low downtime without quickness.
I’ve tried celestial axe torch/dagger, LB/GS power, survival condis etc but not that much really, if anyone has any ideas on how to build from this please do tell.
Also, thanks to nature magic we share every boon with the pet so expect to have perma quickness for your pets, which is brutal.
(edited by Cristobal.8640)
Look, I like “esports” kitten within reason, but I wonder when the kitten people started thinking that games need to be easy to watch or whatever, hell, I’m playing this game to play it, sacrificing mechanical fun so that someone who doesn’t even plays the game has an easier time watching it is something I can’t really grasp, why do people think this is a good idea? Are you so desperate to be like actual sports that you must have the bullkitten too? I know! We should have Coca-Cola stickers on our armor skins!
Speaking from a 5v5 pvp point of view, you kinda get used to all the particle effects and even though gameplay might appear chaotic, it is actually pretty skill based. Its frantic and fun in a way you can’t have with slower games. What we need are different game modes other than horrid conquest, playing “Summoner’s Rift” with GW2 characters and gameplay would be incredibly fun, maybe Stronghold will help?
I wonder if it would work well with staff/lightning hammer. An extra static field and a knockback would be useful. The shield has a daze and pull too that could be useful.
Lay an unsteady ground > magnetic shield (pull) > magnetic surge > lightning field > lava font. Or something?
LH has 3 procs too, leap finisher through static field = dazing strike.
Its decent, probably viable if one were to learn to incorporate LH into regular “rotations” instead of hoping to camp/dps on it.
EDIT2: Tornado procs it twice on each hit, assuming stone tornado. Damage is really great, I never managed to use it effectively for aoe burst/kamikaze tho, but its really nice once you learn to quickly cancel it after you interrupt/deal 10~12k damage once, and use it to prevent/secure stomps and generally troll the kitten out of people. Cancel cast mid cast for kitten spining animation, looks like dancing, ele master race indeed.
I’m really considering trying tornado again, since it should actually deal decent damage with LR… but I can go entire matches without touching the skill since it’s so very situational >_<
Yes, its not that great… You can still use it every match if you get trigger happy with it, sometimes I just use it to burst/interrupt a necro casting heal, for example, saves the real burst at worst…
Lightning Rod is one of the best and most underrated traits for ele.
A proc can deal 4k damage on a heavy golem, with a realistic setup, very glassy but realistic…. This alone would make it a good trait, however, it really shines after you consider the lack of ICD and the built-in weakness. Weakness is good.
In reality this allows for things such as:
1- Updraft and Earthquake dealing up to 4k extra damage each on a big area of effect. Updraft usually deals no damage. A s/d build can be made with Lightning Bolt, and such build is the only one I know of that can burst down the heavy golem in no time at all, and I mean no time at all (No casting times/recovery animations/whatever are involved in the burst sequence). Probably the most fun, trollish build there is for hotjoins, with latency on your side I think it can be competitive but requires an entirely different approach to play. The burst is aoe-ish.
2- Doing a d/d glass build, earthquake, updraft and lightning aura proc it. Having 4k damage+weakness proc out of a lightning aura with no cooldown could be interesting in some situations. Havent tried this one yet, so only theory.
3- Having obscene damage potential on earth and lightning attunements while wielding a staff. Usually, those attunements do not offer damage potential, with LR, Lightning Field, Gust and Unsteady Ground. Due to the nature of these skills, they can proc on the same foe more than once, and offer massive aoe damage potential. Laying down the earth wall in WvW and seeing a clusterkitten of lightning bolts dealing 4k damage each to a zerg is priceless, the versatility offered by being able to dish damage on air and earth is priceless. The most interesting aspect of the staff LR build, however, are the combo possibilities. Gust someone through a a static field that has an Unsteady Ground in the middle, deal 12k damage. There are ways to proc it four times at once too, but I’ll let you figure that one out yourselves. Staff build with LR is challenging tho, requires you to play decently with the ground wich is something not everyone is used to. Very fun build in pvp, be on earth, get focused by ranger, activate reflect aura, switch to air thus procing air minor trait, then do gust. If the ranger is glassy, it will die even if it dodged its reflected arrows. The build is great on 1v1s against classes that usually prevail against staff ele, like thieves. So fun against thieves <3
Sorry for the bad english if any.
Ele master race
EDIT: Now that I think of it, this trait is similar to terror, but better I think. Like terror, its countered by stability. Hard.

I have been runing a similar build as well, for less competitive play anyway but here it is:
I like torch instead of dagger, long lasting burn at 1200 range and a fire field that works great on downed people / after an entangle. Burst and more aoe pressure.
I switch Healing spring for unguent and empathic bond for something else (Bark skin and poison master are great) depending on enemy team composition. I have also toyed with quickening zephyr, its quite fun
Sigil of Strength can be used on axe, and shortbow to a lesser degree, quick and easy 20 might stacks on axe. Rampager sounds interesting in paper but has not worked so well for me.
I really, really like sharpening stone, both SB and axe have 5 projectile skills, alongside torch it really makes the build burst capable.
Playing it safer probably makes it better in a competitive setting, but I wouldnt known.
With the build I posted you maintain 8 stacks of bleed from the front, quickly 20+ from the sides or back, wich is not even absolute sides.
It has an evade on short cd, a cripple with no cast time and a decent stun, poison is always welcomed too.
With rampager instead of rabid on the build I posted, using the sigil that grants might on crit, SB AA crits for a respectable 500-600 on heavy golem.
Its fine.
I will, and I will change sigil of generosity for sigil of strength. It gives might for 13sec on critical hit with a 1s cooldown, I tested it with shortbow on the golems and it procs every second with fury on, and almost every second with no fury. Certainly way better than battle sigil, wich is already kinda op. Pew pew pew might might might bleed bleed bleed <3
This feels promising.
EDIT: Tried it on the golems, might upkeep with the sigil is significantly lower on celestial compared to rabids, thou its only a 10% crit chance decrease. I guess a breaking point must be achieved for the sigil to begin proccing reliably every second and stacking might like crazy.
Perception sigil on the axe set, that should take care of it.
Also replaced evasive purity with strength of spirit for the celestial build.
EDIT2: I tried Rampager’s amulet on the golem, maintains 10 stacks of might from the sigil alone with no fury. Might be on to something. Axe gets 25.
(edited by Cristobal.8640)
I think celestial would be way better with a/d + s/t, wich sounds an interesting build.
I actually really like the SB, for starters, it maintains 5-8 stacks of bleed with this build when hitting someone from the front. I found its pretty easy to position yourself properly in pvp to take advantage of this weapon, it has a very fast cripple and an evade that gives swiftness, the interrupt is great and fast too, and poison volley is great, it can burst that sharpening stone without axe, also procing multiple bleeds on crit per trait, it has sick attack speed and when hitting someone from the “sides” it can stack 20+ bleeds very very fast. Also quickness with shortbow
As a matter of fact, I stay in sb most of the time, switching to axe mostly to burst. I dont axe AA unless on downed people/turrets etc for the might.
(edited by Cristobal.8640)
I changed keen edge for a grandmaster wilderness survival trait. Keen edge is just a gimmick that gets cleansed and has a long cooldown. Empathic bond on top of SotF truly makes it a counter to condi builds, bark skin and poison master are good on their own ways too. I like how having 30 WS allows me to cherry pick between those 3 great traits.
Stability and lack of vigor are its weak points so far (That half vigor trait is nice I guess)
Thank you for your imput
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fNAQNAV3fjMq0waNLmsQ1aADhq9J0CYFAuj3X4qLYVD-TpRFwAAeAARLDw+CAg4gAo4IAka/BA
3085 Armor (Signet of stone)
18,182 Health
1407 Condi damage
40% Crit Chance (60% with fury)
Survival of the fittest provides “perma” fury and cleanses, survival skills are on a short cooldown, entangle is quite good with survival of the fittest, cooldown trait and krait runes. Cleanses from SotF combined with healing spring are enough to cleanse a burst of condies, sigil of generosity is extremely good and works both as defense and offense.
+45% Bleed duration, and on the best possible scenario, shortbow is stacking 4 bleeds per hit.
The build stacks bleeds really fast, and has the potential for bursting more than once. I like torch so far, 5 works great on points, against downed/immobilized, as a defense against melee, etc, also fire field and you have a lot of projectile finishers. Dagger might be better for defense, but I found the build survivable enough (coming from burst ele here)
I have been playing ranger for a couple of days, so please critique this build and help me make it better
EDIT: Build must be played with slingshot, dont try it without and complain.
EDIT2: After some testing, I find the build to be pretty solid. Lack of stability looks to be a problem sometimes, securing stomps is tough and heavy cc scenarios can kitten me. I´m still playing pretty bad tho, overdoing the survival skills offense when I dont need it to end dying to condies I couldve cleansed. I wonder if getting a blinding bird would be worth it to secure stomps, instead of spider wich might kitten your poison damage… I would probably swap signet of stone for the stability signet even tho its a condi build if I get good enough to not need stone.
EDIT3: I found that replacing keen edge with empathic bond makes the build better and allows you to practically hardcounter condi specs, while also helping against power classes and in team fights.

Play with brightness, gamma and color balance until you can see the stuff, if it doesn’t work, try special software.
Also I wouldn’t defend Canach either.
The decent situation would’ve gone something like this:
I get to southsun island and inform myself on the situation going on. I kill or capture Noll right away and proceed to put through the sword every single consortium “officer” that does not surrender. Afterwards I interrogate a captured consortium officer and get the info on the mercenaries they hired for the purposes of hunting down and killing civilians if they broke the forced-labor contract. I make plans to hunt down these mercenaries afterwards. Settlers and consortium personnel of lower rank are spared and told to go home, as I consider their use of violence to be legitimate. After that situation is resolved, I hunt Canach down and attempt to capture him or kill him if he resists. If during the whole situation Kiel tries to stop me, I put her through the sword with special joy, for refusing to do the right thing to do in a difficult situation, choosing instead the easy way out: Following orders and “the law”, enabling slavery in the process.
You guys should consider one of the hundreds of programs that let you change tones, brightness and whatnot.
The advanced ones should have a “color replace” function and probably dynamic functionality so you can make custom filters that activate when some parameters are met.
I remember a forum post somewhere by a colorblind guy that used to fix his own games.
Shouldn’t be illegal as it doesn’t intermingle with the game in any way, and is no different from say using a fancy screen to play in sepia mode or whatever.
It’s the flashing, not the colors.
Like when riding a car on the passenger’s seat, and the trees keep breaking the sun: it makes the sunlight flicker really fast and gives me a migraine. On long car rides (I can’t drive), I put two bandannas over my eyes. Sunglasses don’t help at all, though it makes things darker it doesn’t stop the flickering.I don’t see how software could help with this.
And then things like many skill animations going on at once… ugh. Wish there were simpler skill animations.
There should be software that is able to counter flashing, something like dynamic contrast…
Say it reads that more than x% of the screen is covered in “too bright colors” as defined by you and a milisecond later it’s not…
It could kindda flash the opposite way by lowering brightness in the most bright period and augmenting it on the darkest one. No, it wouldn’t look pretty exactly but I suppose it would help. Probably epileptics know more about this stuff…
Unless the software intelligently only changes the contrast at the exact spot of the problematic area, you’ll end up with not only a flickering area, but with flickering screen.
I know there are monitors with zonal dynamic contrast that do exactly that, no idea how tho. No idea if it’s possible via software only without spec hardware as well.

What would you do if you were a settler, btw?
I sure as hell would either fight to the death or run asap, certainly not keep working…
The mine bullkitten was getting frustrating (No clear indication on how it works, weird angle so the disable works… etc) until I died with my mesmer from I don’t even know what, pressed the bad key and casted confusion on Canach.
You will imagine my surprise when I saw it was dealing him damage, so I just rallied and killed it in like 15 seconds while standing stationary.
Pretty terrible design, a fitting culmination for what has been a subpar event mostly made for the sake of profit with no consideration at all for the art.
Shame.
If someone comes knocking down your door because it looks, quote: “Suspicious” what would you do? No, you attacked first :P
I understand it completely, Cristobal. When I kill a separatist, I feel like I’m saying “NO! You can’t voice your political opinion!”. I’m not saying that they are doing it right, but I don’t think they should be killed either.
What I could see is that the morality in Guild Wars 2 is a little dubious. I mean, no one looks twice at the valiant that just killed a nightmare courtier. They are evil. They all must die, even if they just surrender and told you everything they knew thinking that you would spare their lives.
And hey, that’s a good thing! I mean, it’s not all black and white, right? “Good” characters sometimes can do terrible things, and “bad” characters can be honorable (these are not just assumptions, that’s what is in the Sylvari’s personal story).
I agree, realistic grey morality is pretty well done in the game lore and story.
By any humanist standard is pretty abyss black morality really, as you commit genocide against sentient species all the time for all kinds of bullkitten reasons and nobody even cares. Again pretty realistic.
What annoys me is how the game forces the player to do that stuff as well, instead of giving us the choice to at least politely decline.

I am a roleplayer on Tarnished Coast. I love roleplay which is what I use MMO environments specifically for. Uninstanced Salma has been an impeccable space for roleplayers of GW2 to band together. Divinity’s Reach is the big RP hot spot and outside of Salma’s District, players have no access to buildings to use outside of taverns and houses.
While those above are appreciated, the uninstanced Salma district has been used to host a player run hospital, a player run safe house, a player run tavern, a player run tea house, in addition to the space provided from uninstanced Salma District as a happy location to have more varied RP in.
Your RP community loves this place! Please don’t add these invisible walls. Every night I have logged on to check out uninstanced Salma District it has always been a very hopping place with many RPers all RPing in that area.
It’s truly a one of a kind.
I didn’t know of this.
It speaks quite badly of anet if they did instance it then… It means they either have no clue about what their players are doing and enjoying, or just don’t care.
