I’ll probably get flammed for abusing guesting to suggest this, but i will anyways. You can guest as much as you want, to 2 different servers for 24 hours, then it resets and you can pick different one if you want.

When you login, just hit world select button, pick a server, & then hit guest, then play. You will be on that server till you visit char select again.

I use the hell out of it, if there is mulitple projectors closeby, ill guest to another server to see if i can hit them agian. I do my daily world events very quickly because i’m taking advantage of other servers spawn times. Heck, i hated finding those kitten pinatas for the achievement, so i found a place that had 9 of em and guested to speed it up. I’ve done this with the orr events too, instead of waiting for 20 min try another server.

I think guesting is the most underrated feature in the game!

By that i think he means, if your lucky then it’s fun, but if your unlucky then rgn is stupid.

Yeah ive noticed the events are impacted, and it seems even the trading post is being effective too. Things like super skins, mini’s, & some other limited time stuff has dropped in value. Seems like many ppl sold them off and cancelled buy offer to get money for this event.

OMG thats awsome! I want that shield now. Every kitten shield looks god awful with aegis, and finally one that hides it/doesn’t look bad. thanks for sharing.

They really need to revamp aegis, i always wanted the holloween shield till i saw one with aegis lol. I dont have a picture of the holloween one but here is what the brahm shield looks like with it.

Sounds to me like the odds for regular coffers are around 1/1000, and rich is maybe 1/100. Just an educated guess, because ive read alot of threads.

So, if 100 gems cost 3g 12s, for each rich coffer.
You can buy almost 100 regular coffers (buy value 3.61s currenly) for the price of 1 rich. So the regular coffers will be 10x cheaper if your attempting to get the weapon ticket.

This is all hypothetical, since we dont know the exact odds.

I think there is a rgn bug with the pinatas. Everytime i hit one there is only 1 piece of candy. Is this intended?

Shouldn’t it be like 10-30 pieces? Who makes a pinata and puts only 1 piece of candy in it? It just seems like something is wrong to me, can you guys look into it.

In gw1 i could open a gift bag and get 2-3 consumables. Today excited about the dragon festival, i go to LA and i saw someone go up and hit a pinata, so i followed him and hit it and got 1 piece of candy. I thought ok, they all can’t be winners. Searched around for another one, & they aren’t exactly everywhere, but i found another and got 1 piece of candy again. Then I thought surely they can’t all contain the exact same kitten candy, can they? so after about 10 of them and getting 10 same kitten candy pieces, i said in map chat “This pinata loot sucks, anyone gotten anything besides 1 piece of candy?” No one even said they got any other type of loot. As i wondered around a little more i found the merchant that sold the jawbreaker & the back piece. Then i realized i needed to smash 100,000 pinatas, & each one is like a kitten easter egg hunt to find. Time sink is putting it lightly, that’s a life sink to get that done in 30 days. Anyways F the pinatas, it’s lame troll loot.

This company is going WAY downhill, like everykitten aspect of this event had bugs. I played dragon ball with invinible opponents, i lost 2g to bugged moa racing (apperantly they could be stunned?). Oh and the minipets could be upgraded via the forge to exotic 200g minipets.

I do like the drop rate of the coffers off enemys that the only good thing i have to say about the event so far, oh and i like the dragon decorations around LA. But more or less pretty dissapointed, they shouldn’t of rushed it and been so stingy with the loot.

No one can predict what a company might do to spin a profit. Since southsun is over there shouldn’t ever be more produced. But Anet is a company & if they see more profit to release these again, it’s thier game so they can do as they please. We are just small voices they take into consideration.

OMG, even noobs who don’t know how the trading post works, have more gold then me now. Through some stupid glitch i missed, because i have to work.

I’d like to see metalic dyes (like juggernaut), some type of ghostly/transparent dye, and they could do particle effect ones like electricty, smoking, heat, glowing & icey dyes.

But these would have to be super rare, maybe like 1/1million through unid dyes, or in blc. You defenetly dont want to see them around everywhere, but when you do you, it looks amazing. They could be legendary color too, & probably would be insanely expensive on the trading post.

No wonder the gem exchange rates are so high, the devs are hoarding all the gems.

I once saw snowcrash in frostgorge while waiting on a jormag event, discussing the game with everyone on kaineng server, a few months back.

Our guilds leader (ttw) had become inactive, but the rest of the guild was still active, and we couldn’t start guild missions without him, which ultimatly destroyed the guild. He was discussing this with one of our officers, which he said he would see what he could do about it.

Nothing ever happened to resolve the issue, but i could tell the way he spoke that he was highly dedicated to making the game as enjoyable as possible for the community. Even though he couldn’t solve the issue, i still appeciate him taking about 40 min time to discuss it with us.

Since minipets don’t account bound, they only dissapear if someone who owns one quits playing. If the owner only paid a fraction of the new high price, they might be inclined to sell it for huge profits, undercutting the new price. Minipets are kinda risky investments, since they don’t get removed after use.

It spawns uber diablo somewhere in the world.

For about the past 2 month i’ve been throwing all my yellows into the forge, every since they started the daily yellow for meta events, and ecto fell through the floor. I got one precurser through the forge about a month ago. I try to hit all the world bosses everyday, sometimes on multiple characters, even though it isn’t a gaurenteed for a yellow.

I use a system i thought up to get them at the lowest possible cost.

Since you finding yellows yourself, you actaully get them 15% cheaper, because if you sold it you would loose this money. I sell my greens worth over 1.7s to merchant, and mf the rest to get more yellows. I check the yellows for any worth over 25s, and sell off those, since 25s – 15% is over price of ecto. when mfing armors, I use 3 armors and 1 wep (or accessory), to make these armors have a chance to become a weapon. When mfing weapons i try to always put 4 of them in at a time. About 1/5 of the time you will get an exotic, which i end up selling. I’d say a precurser is about 1/100 exotics from what i’ve seen. Just a guess (which i think is pretty accurate).

I like the idea of a changing game and new content. Ive done just about everything, and new stuff even though temporary, i find rewarding and look forward to it. If they made it permanent it would get old pretty quick, and i find it gets old anyways before the temporary content ends.

-Super adventure box was great, i did it so many times i could run all zones of world one in 12m. I played the crap out of it and it got old after a few weeks, but if it was around any longer, the rewarding skins would be worthless now. I do like temporary content becuase it makes these items rare over time.

-I loved the molten facility becuase it was challenging & there were rare rewards i wanted, like the jetpack.

-Even though most of the southsun content wasn’t very rewarding it still gave us some nice back pieces. The dungeons i think would have been alot better if they offered unique items. Yes i’m all about the loot, if i’m not rewarded, i find it isn’t worth doing (eventhough fun is the real goal).

I started at christmas and i was low lvl when it was going so i dont have much input on that content or the content before it. But as it is now, we seem to get new content with every update and i look forward to each future update. It keeps me going, thank you A-team.

Edit: Btw i don’t like the rgn boxes either. I hate seeing loot that i can’t get. I like rare and expensive items, but keeping them out of the reach of 95% of players becuase they don’t spend rl money is wrong. I could support these boxes if the rgn weapons were sellable on the trading post. Atleast give your players a way to buy them other then spending rl money. I know some that got the scarelet weapons who thought they were ugly and never used them, and i know some droped alot of money on crates and never got any. They should be sellable like the holloween skins, they did those boxes correctly, i think.

I dont think it’s just the gem shop that needs new armor skins. The reason there are so many town clothing skins in the cash shop is because you can’t get these ingame. They add them to the cash shop as an extra way to earn money for ppl that care. I wouldn’t be opposed to new armor skins for gems. But the truth is we just need new armor skins, wether it be dungeon, cash shop, wvw, however they want to implement aquiring it, just get us new armors. We have had numerious weapons, and back skins, but the only new armor skin we have had since launch is the molten gloves.

It’s always switching targets without commanding it to do so, i’ve learned to adapt to it, but still i don’t see how the issue could be neglected for so long. Escpecially with pvp, and how they control stat limits to ensure it’s fair gaming (always nerfing and buffing classes for balance), yet their game targeting is complete kitten.

While running to events or across wvw map, I always try to stay out of combat while running to keep the highest speed. But there are times, i just start attacking yellow mobs for no reason. It kitten es me off because it puts me into combat and slows me down. 95% of the time i run past them with no problems, and other times i just start shooting them without commanding it. I do have auto attack on but common these mobs arn’t even hostle, why would my char just start attacking them.

Gw2 has the worst targeting i’ve seen out of 15+ years of gaming. And the only reply from Anet i’ve seen is ty it’s a low priority thing to fix. I think they need to get thier priorities straight.

Yes they will be adding a logging axe. But since all wood doesn’t sell for much, i dont intend to buy one. They may release these unlimited tools agian reskinned,

The ability to trade items between players. I really miss that.

I never even wanted a minipet untill i saw mini kesmeer. Yes, she will be mine. The rest seem rather pointless honestly. I think barbie has the most potential because he is hot and there is nothing else i’d rather be looking at while i play. With most players being guys, i’m sure some have the same idea. I just hope she doesn’t distract me to much and get me killed.

I’ve opened 6 now and got 1 yellow & 5 greens. 1 blue print was a golem aswell.

I started this game after christmas and fractals had been out for a while, i found it hard to start aswell. I had trouble even finding a group, and wanting to start with lvl 1 since i had no idea what i was doing. I finally found a group lfm in lions arch, which we failed because we couldn’t make it past the swamp. Ppl got frustrated and left.

About a week later, i found some guildys that were running it for a member who hadn’t done it before either. I tagged along & we ran it a few times that day, and i had them explain everything as we progressed. Then i found out about www.gw2lfg.com, and if you plan to do fractals it’s highly recommended you use that site.

Anyways im lvl 40 fractals now, and consider myself pretty good at them. I still run it every now and again, but i really don’t need anything from there anymore. I used to do it everyday, sometimes multiple times, but not very much anymore, because there is more rewarding things to do with my time.

Those skins weren’t very good anyways, when i 1st seen them i didn’t even notice the blood till my friend mentioned it. To waist 600g and still not get one is very sad. For how rare they are, they should spatter blood like mortal combat, you should be able to do fatalities & cut ppls heads off. I would defenetly want the ugly skin if they did that.

Something better. Idk maybe a giant crab arm that cuts through plants, or spawn some type of asuran robot gatherer device, or pour some miricle grow on the plant and kick it over.

Crafting is baisicly speed leveling for the rich nowadays.

You can trade those gems for ingame gold aswell. Then you can just buy items on the trading post, if you want cool weapons and such. The more gems you exchange the better you make the rates for everyone else

The chances of a precursor dropping from a normal creature is almost non-existant, im not saying it’s impossible, but from my experiances vets/champs have the best chance to drop exotics, and even then the odds are very slim.

You can search all you want from mobs, but good luck. The precursor i found or seen someone obtain have either come from: the forge, a large event chest, or guild mission reward. I did hear of one falling from the champion during a melandru event, but thats the only precursor mob drop i’ve ever heard of. So go ahead and kill everything you want, but you might be on this scavenger hunt for a very long time.

No key = no open. Eventhough they will most likely still contain the same crap, they do still have that small chace of containing a rare ticket/skin, since these blc are tradeable on the trading post, there is no way to tell which are old and which are new, they are all the same. The contents will be determained when you open it.

I don’t understand why they made these account bound. We sell/buy permanent contracts, unlimited tonics, minipets and other rare goodies that come from black lion chests. Why would they not make them like the holloween skins, which were sellable, why now are they not able to be bought from the bltc? Why make it so the ones that are willing to blow money on them can’t get one after opening 100’s of chests( kitten them off), yet those that dont even care about them can pull out a ticket on their 1st try (they can’t sell it, and would rather have a stack of gold then a skin they don’t want).

Does this make sense?

They need to stop making skins rgn baised around no other method then spending $100+.

You’re allowed to have the cashshop, to exclude monthly fee/expansion fees to me. HOWEVER, you are not to make skins excluded from me out of the realm of possibility, they should be sold for gems at an exchange rate, or i should have a way to get them through trading post. Yes make them expensive and rare, i like that. But do not exclude content from me by making these skins account bound, because i dont pull out my wallet. I GAVE YOU MY $60 ALREADY. There is a trading post for a reason.

It depends on how you define “average” player, but we’re generally at this point already. It’s honestly not out of reach, just insanely hard to justify with a gold:gems ratio of 3:100.

I know it seems unlikely now, but as the game ages, gold will only devalue more. As more and more gold is farmed and added into the economy, i only see this ratio getting much worse, & probably going to 10:100 in a year or maybe 2. I’ve seen this in other games that use this same type of gold/gem trading system. When a server is new the ratio is always very low and best time to buy up gems, and as grows older it gradually goes up, & it never goes down much. Of course it spikes up and down a little, but i really doubt we will see a 2/100 ratio ever again, unless anet intervienes to lower gold deflation.

actually I invested my gold on dusk and dawn, so i am back down to 200g. O those deadly bloom, I only have 4 stacks now, used them to craft nightmare coil and sold them on tp. The thing I dun like about limited time items is hoarder. I am talking about those hard to get limited time items that ppl cam easily hoard and control the market.

I’m thinking precursers are not a good investment for profit atm. Since throwing yellows into the forge can make exotics and precursers, they are all related. The price of ecto determains the min price for a yellow. The high supply and cheap price of yellows means many will be upgraded them into exotics and precursers, expecially if ppl try to keep precurser prices high, they are most certainly going to fall as more ppl upgrade cheap yellows. The new dynamic event system guaranteeing a daily yellow has driven ecto into the floor. I’ve seen many of the precursers are on a steady downward slope on gw2spidy.com. I believe this to be the reason.

People are speculating the release of a scavenger hunt for precursers aswell, only making the gamble for profit worse. Any new way to obtain precursers will drop the price further.

Now i know gold drops in value over time aswell, but investing in precursers are to risky for me atm, I already sold mine. Although If any can keep thier value inspite of Anets changes it would be dusk and dawn, due to there popularity. I still think the best investments are gems (I don’t see them going down, as they are adding alot of new cashshop items), and limited time event items.

I actaully love limited time items, because as time goes on they become rarer and more valueble. If everything was permanent they would get over farmed, everyone would have them, and they wouldn’t be worth much. I think most ppl like unique looks, and temporary items helps to keep these items rare. I dont see many holloween shields, or grimreaper staffs, & chainsaw greatswords around, if they had been availible for 6 months they would be common and cheap and everywhere, u know. Temporary is a good thing to me.

It’s used on the back piece, like the spinegaurd (type that into trading post if you dont have one). I dont think you can use it on a bracer, and if you could it would cause a bug and might be why it didn’t show.

Honestly I quit doing Jormag a couple weeks ago for the most part, unless he’s spawning when I"m up there getting ori. With all the other meta events that give chests there’s no way I’m sitting around for an hour and 15 minute spawn window.

This, and it’s the longest event aswell. While it is fun, after you’ve done the event like 50 times, it gets old. While i like daily chest rewards, the 1h 15m spawn window, followed by the crystal event chain, and 20-30 min to defeat jormag, is too time consuming for what’s usually 1 yellow.

The only time i fight him now is if a guild member announces he’s spawned, then i ask how much life he has, and if it’s above 25% ill wait a bit.

So they can mitigate it’s effects, making it’s usefulness ineffective.

This is my whole point im trying to make. lol.

Blocking the attack you want is only usable by a very slow swinging attack like an etten. Normal players attacks arn’t this slow, so how is blocking the next the attack be useful if it’s noticable? It will only mitigate a crap attack since no wants to waist a skill attacking aegis, and that all hardly useful in pvp.

I’m sure your right they wouldn’t have made the blue shield if they didn’t want it to be noticable, but i find it’s usefullness mainly for pve, where the enemy lacks common sense.

So i want to buy the grinning holloween shield but im worried aegis will made it look stupid since it’s for my gaurdian.

For pvping why is aegis shown anyways, for classes like warrior that can have an unblockable attack doesn’t this spoil the purpose of aegis. No one is going to use thier best attack while an opponent is showing aegis, they will use a plain attack to remove it and then use their best. Kinda defeats the purpose i think.

Look wise, it’s cool when i have a greatsword of staff equipped, but using a shield it doesn’t look right wearing 2 overlapping shields on same arm.

I’d like to suggest a way to hide it, to improve its effectiveness. Dont care about the buff icon really, it’s the invisible blue shield i’d like to hide.

I think this may be the problem i was having, and it’s very frustrating.

Sometimes i’m attacking a target, then all of a sudden im attack another target. Idk wtf my char is doing sometimes, he has a mind of his own. I always thought it was maybe autotarget selecting a closer target that i didn’t choose. I’ll have to pay more attention the next time, and see if im moving the camera when it happens again, and where my curser is.

If right clicking does select a target that’s a horrible idea. The camera moving button shouldn’t be a target selector also, every noob developer knows this. That’s like making the f button the logout button, “oh lets talk to this npc, oh nooo i just logged out”. Seriously think about what your programming.

Please fix whatever is causing my problem, if i’m attacking something the last thing i want is to argo something else and look stupid!

Gold wouldn’t deflate as quickly, since the amount flowing into the economy would go down. I’m ok with that.

I think they are temporary. I’m not 100% sure, but the fact that we are currently undergoing the flame and frost living story, which is temporary content, & the dyes pack is called flame and frost dyes, i just don’t see them being sold there forever. With the high prices of these dyes, i’m sure other’s are drawing the same conclusion. Reselling them later for profit once they are no longer availible. Guild Wars seems to do alot of temporary skins, content, and events.

Well my experiance isn’t a legendary, but still similar. I found a precurser, and undercut the lowest seller by 1c. I spent 20g listing it, and now there is 3 listed lower then mine. I could of taken 75g less and sold it instantly to to highest buyer. If i could go back i’d of just sold it to the highest buyer, i’d like the $$ now, but i’m kinda forced to see how the market plays out, because i dont want to loose my 20g.

The problem I have with investing items that will always keep going up in price, is that I don’t know when to sell them. Since selling them will always result in you missing out on future profit, it’s most ‘profitable’ to keep them forever. However if you never sell them, you’re not actually gaining any gold. I had this problem in GW1, and to this day I still have a load of limited edition mini pets that I just never wanted to sell.

I stopped playing gw1 long ago, but i never sold my max dmg req 7 weapons (from like 10 years ago), and i have a whole set of exotic candy cane weapons (no lvl req, with inscription slots) that were only released one christmas as a pvp reward, and each person got one. I paid around 30-50k each for them & I put all max inscriptions in the set too, thought it would be cool for ppl making new characters in my guild, I spent about 1m on inscriptions and weps, but never did sell them. I wonder what they would be worth now?

I’d suspect the ghastly comparison won’t hold because the super skins were simply easier to get. I’d suspect the overall volume of tradeable skins created would be similar, but super skins had another (non-exchangeable) method to obtain.

I know this is all speculation, but these super skins may not ever be released again, so 2 years down the road they might be going for 500g. The holloween skins might get released each year, which in the end would make them more common.
