If you just increase the base and reduce the scaling further, than healing power is basically pointless. As for someone going P/V/T or V/P/T, they’re already choosing to have high hp instead of low hp and strong heals. If they have high hp, then they should only have moderate heals.

You /should/ expect strong heals without healing power, Healing power should make an already stronger heal stronger, just like toughness makes an already boon protected bunker more durable, it should be a BONUS not a REQUIREMENT.

Yes well as it is that healing power is barely making the passive stronger at 3.3% scaling.

Ah and I just realized that in my earlier post, I didn’t specify that I was talking about the passive base healing, not the on demand healing. The signet’s base passive heal is as good as ele’s, war just doesn’t have as good damage mitigation.

The Elementalist one procs every time they’re traits proc, every time they use a spell, and every time they use a utility and every time they create a combo field or there traits proc spells… and it heals for MORE then the Warrior one…

SoR – Healing per cast: 202 (0.1)?
HS – Healing: 200 (0.033)? per second.

Not only DOES it heal for far more, it has 3 times better scaling in healing power. Some times Ele can cast 3-4 spells at the same time.

To make it even CLOSE to a comparison, it should be like this:
HS – Healing: 500 (0.2)? per second. (it was 600, but 500 would be moreso what it would be.)

Please come back and speak when you actually tested things out and know what your talking about.

I really hate to say this, but HS needs to either be POWERFUL or be harder to heal with, it needs to be something passively active like: Heal’s per cast Or when you gain a strike of adrenaline since we don’t cast nearly as many things as Elementalist.

Not only all that, but they can have both the active AND the passive at the same time… (It needs to be buffed to be on par to the other healing signets, and I think “Healing Per Second.” is lazy.)

If a skill “NEEDS” a stat to be decent, then it “NEEDS” help, when you design a healing skill it should be good without any help, and be better with help.

And that is the case, as per Jon’s post. It’s just that healing in and of itself doesn’t scale well which is an intrinsic problem with healing and not isolated to Healing Signet.

Even healing 400 HPS, you’re still going to die without proper mitigation tools. If you could build for healing power to get 400 HPS out of the signet, at least you’ll have some toughness or vitality to back the improved healing.

What does that leave for people in Soldier’s gear or Sentinel’s gear then? They are bunkers (not really without protection…) too, HP shouldn’t be the all-time stat, HP should offer a bonus, not make or break an ability.

Adrenal health is per 3 seconds. So that’s a huge difference in your calculations.

Anyway, I don’t understand why Jon wants to raise the base healing? If a player doesn’t put anything into healing power, then it shouldn’t be healing overly well. the buff should be in the heal power scaling, not the base.

If players really think it should have a place in a glass cannon gs build, then you’d think that would be by having a higher on activation healing and higher cd. Because honestly health regeneration doesn’t do much good if you’re running glass anyway because of the high amounts of damage you take.

Our Toughness 5 point trait should be +50% Endurance.

Signet of Stamina should be 200 hp/s.
Healing Signet should heal you for each strike of adrenaline you get.

Deep Strikes needs changed to not be useless at high levels and OPOPLOL at low levels.

per 3 seconds….that’s 360 HP ever 3rd second.

125+240+360 / 3 = about 80.5 hp/s.

You want protection?ok so you can have the same hp pool of the guardian if you want it , I think that warrior can’t have more power – more hp – all the weapons and protection too… Well you can have it too but if Anet want that I think that they can delete the Guardian-class.

The guardians better trait placement, better traits, and superior skills and condition removal make up for the protection.

No worries, I’m well aware to ignore posts by that user. They allow us to see players’ post histories for a reason :-)

Warriors can gain 50% endurance regen with a utility (another signet, lol). Just a different way of getting it (different classes, go fig). There’s also vigor from an actual weapon skill.

Ranger has to again trait to get that vigor (on heal, on pet swap w/ birds or moas, on being crit). Again, different ways to get it for different classes.

Ranger’s massive amounts of evasion are tied to specific weapons. Just as warriors only have those blocks (MH mace, OH sword, shield), evasion (GSword), stuns/dazes/KDs (MH Mace, OH Mace, Hammer, Shield) on different weapons.

As far as who cares at 0 healing power? People who don’t use Celestial / Cleric / Apothecary / Magi gear.

As far as the differences at 1,500+ healing power…

1,500

  • Healing Signet = 200 + (0.033 * 1,500) = 249.5
  • Signet of the Wild 62 + (0.06 * 1,500) = 152
  • Difference = 97.5 … SotW is 60.9% of HS

Gain 5 seconds of retaliation and protection when you take more then 10% of your life in damage. (10 second cool-down.)

Yay, 2x Rune of Earth, 2x Rune of Monk, 2x Rune of Water and you get 100% uptime on protection if you trigger that thing.

Also, I think your wording there could use some fixing. Right now it sounds like we’d get Protection for losing 10% HP at any time, so long as the effect is not in cooldown. In comparison, effects like Instinctual Response specify that it has to be in a single hit. Also notice that Instinctual Response has a 60s cooldown on a 4s effect. You’re proposing a 10s cooldown on a 5s effect.

Your forgetting that IR isn’t a grand master trait, its a minor trait. Its also one of thieves worst traits, it kills them more then helps them, and your forgetting that the hit has to take away more then 10% of there life to proc it, meaning it procs after you take a huge hit. Even if you had x2 Runes of Monk/Water, 30 in vitality, x2 runes of water, you would still only have 70% Boon Duration, (meaning it would last 8.5 seconds.)

60 trait points, all your runes for /almost/ 100% uptime of protection sounds fair to me, it also doesn’t proc less you take over 10% damage, meaning it won’t proc off condition specs easilly.

Your also forgetting all the ‘boon hate.’ going around now.

Shout healing is good group support? Did they delete Elementalists and Guardians this patch as well?

So in soldier’s gear you would be getting a lil over a thousand health per shout? Sounds terrible.

I think after launch shouts were doing 2k heals or so then that was nerfed into the ground.

my guardians rolls heal for almost 1700, I also run sigils of energy on each set so I can spam roll accomponied with my vigor I can also roll more often then warriors can shout.

The problem isn’t healing, it is sustain. We have no protection, the difference in heavy armor to light armor is hardly noticeable, no aegis boons. Our sustain are endure pain and shield stance. Both very circumstantial as you can still get crowd controlled in them, and have conditions applied.

I just want something to grant protection and I think I would be happy.

We also don’t have there condition removal, many people overlook this but its actually huge.

Rangers can remove 3 conditions every 10 seconds, then switch out there pets, the conditions that go to there pets are immediately removed. (this is not an exploit, the pet is no longer there so the conditions are removed, the funny thing is the switching of pets is also 10 seconds, so they pretty much have 3 condition removals every 10s.)

The ranger’s healing spring produces a water combo field, which allows them and there allies to constantly cleanse conditions for 4 seconds.

Its sad that I know more about a ranger then an actual ranger.

If the signets are not a heal… why is it effected by healing power and its amount decreased by poison?

Just a little worse?! I need 2,300 healing power to get the same amount of health per second as you do with 0 healing power. That is not “just a little worse”.

To make it even simpler for you, 62 is only 31% of 200.

When a Ranger’s pet is dead, a large chunk of the Ranger’s dps is also dead. This is why Signet of Stone now gives the Ranger and their pet the same amount of toughness. They are essentially one entity in two bodies … and if you kill the primary body (the ranger) they both die. As such, it doesn’t make much sense to penalize the Ranger for this. They are already penalized in other ways for it.

Actually if you combine them both together its 183 hp/s. The warrior relies on only himself. He doesn’t have a pet.

I’m amused that not only are we having Warrior’s complain about this, but Jon Peters discussing that it may need a buff in builds without any +healing in them … this is why:

Warrior’s Healing Signet versus Ranger’s Signet of the Wild … with the actual numbers … not what Daecollo made up.

Healing Signet

  • 200 per second.
  • +0.033 per 1 healing power

Signet of the Wild

  • Ranger Healing 62 per second
  • Ranger +0.06 per 1 healing power
  • Pet Healing 125 per second
  • Pet +0.25 per 1 healing power

So with 0 healing power, the warrior is getting 200 – 62 = 138 more health per second than the Ranger and 200 – (62+125) = 13 more health per second than both the Ranger and their pet combined.

Now, Signet of the Wild does scale better with healing power, but to make up the 138 health per second difference, 138 / 0.06 = 2,300 healing power is how much would need … which is rather ridiculous.

I do not believe that the fact that it also heals the pet, a decent percentage of Ranger damage/utility, should be cause for it to heal the Ranger for less. Especially not 2,300 worth of healing power less.

The Ranger’s Pet is a big part of it, so you need to take in account BOTH of them together.

One it a utility slot, while the other is a healing slot. The funny thing is though, the ranger one is just “a little worse.”

In SPvP/WvWvW Toughness (Not Armor.) should also lower incoming damage of players by 0.01% per point.

Toughness seems a bit (not-on-par.) with its offensive counterparts and I think it should have a little more effect on the battle.

1 toughness should lower that by 0.01% per point.

This does not work for “Armor” however, only toughness.

When you use the elite skill for twilight for example you should cut the edge of reality, leaving a space between GW2 and real life. A Limousine comes out and then chuck norris as he instantly defeats everyone, instead of getting downed however, there characters are deleted and a fist comes through the screen instantly killing the player. Then you are awarded 1000g and a super model comes to your house to marry you.

Healing Signet alone is bad compared to the other heals, its base heal amount needs doubled, maybe something after that could be added to improve it even further since we don’t have access to protection. A developer coming here alone and telling us its trash just proves how useless the heal is at the moment.

Both Adrenaline Health and Healing Signet need upped to be on-par with the traits of other classes.

Adrenal Health should heal every time you gain a strike of adrenaline and be effected moreso by healing power, not over time. This makes the Warrior a bit harder to play while giving it viable self-healing.

When you die, you have the option to place a “bounty” on the target, you can pick them up at the beginning of the zone and see where that target is, if you defeat that target you get the money the player placed on his head.

A skill when it comes to mind should be made from the ground up without any stats and should be viable for all builds without any stats, stats should just “add-on” to what the current skill has, not make or break it.

First rule when you create an item, NEVER balance it around stats or it will fail.

Earthshaker would be pathetic following a target. The ability to cram as many targets into it as possible by not needing one of them in the centre is one of the best things about it.

It also slows it down too. Since it only hits max of ‘5’ targets anyways.

It would be really fun for the necromancer staff too.

Under normal circumstances I would disagree with this suggestion… but after running staff necro today in Molten Alliance Facility… with fast-cast ground target inabled and throwing Marks at the wrong spots over and over again due to the camera spinning around on me the instant I tried to attack… Add it!

You can always turn it off. I just want the option.

The Discipline Tree no longer requires trait points. That should be its “Special.”

We have so many “required traits” in it, it does not make any sense that it should cost trait points. Warrior should be like Fighters in DnD/Pathfinder and get more traits to spend.

What to do about mesmers?

Endure Pain is useless against Mesmers really, most of there damage comes from staying in the fight longer (sustained).

The best weapon’s ive found against mesmer have been Sword. I’m dead serious. Mesmers don’t have much condition removal (just like us.) Sword also has a lot of low-cd leaps and spammable cripples. The weapon with it I find best is Mace, due to AOE pressure, AOE knockdown will knock down all the clones and the Mesmer too.
