I found myself at the point where I’m literally logging in doing dailys and logging out spending more time just browsing waiting for HoT info or any little update at all. Now I’m so over dailys I find myself just logging in for log in rewards. What I would like is to hear how many others are reduced to this presuming its not just me. And I don’t need the blah blah do this and that etc, I’ve done plenty and and interested in what I am not what others tell me to be.

I was doing the same. Now i don’ t even bother logging in. There is nothing to do for veterans. Doing the same things for 3 years..well I have had enough :P

For me druid spec will be the last one to be revelead….and we all know why :P

For me the balance of this game isn’ t the best…Look at ranger. I can tell you that unless they make ranger decent I won’ t buy Hot. Why should i spend my money to play a neglected and broken class?
But i still hope they do something cool for ranger. That’ s why i keep looking at this forum

It’ s the ranger class that is broken. We are 1000 steps behind other classes…and we can’ t do anything.

Some people I know have literally over 10k hours into the game, so I won’t doubt his statement, it is totally plausible.

Oh, it is plausible, just not probable. This guy has been QQing on the forums about how Ranger is terrible since launch, so I just cannot believe someone would continue playing a class they think is so bad for 6 hour a day, every day. Not to mention the rest of the professions he complains about.

And, to spend 9 hours a day for 3 years (10k hrs) playing a game is absurd. Addiction is real.

Am I the only one who is fed up for months with the shocking state of Rangers in this game?! It certainly feels that way! I’ve made a number of posts here about how badly Rangers need an improvement to be brought in-line with other classes in this game, and all are ignored and ridiculed.

I have NO reason to buy HoT expansion because I don’t want a stupid Druid! I want a RANGED class with Longbow skills, and I had hoped Ranger would get some long-overdue improvements in that area, but instead we get a useless Staff with useless support skills.

News flash: This game does not have “holy trinity” MMO setup (Tank/Healer/DPS) so why implement useless ‘healing’ on a class that is already so far behind everything else?!

Ranger pets – Useless (They die instantly in ANY and ALL fights and still cannot be dismissed in combat! The AI is completely dumb. They don’t dodge when we do.)
Longbow DPS – Average at best
Sword auto attack – useless
Healing Spring (our main condi cleanse) – Useless
Lead the Wind – Useless because “piercing arrows” does not negate blocks or actually ‘pierce’ as it should, by cutting through armor (toughness).
Clarion Bond – Useless because it has a cooldown.
Zephyr’s Speed – Average at best, becuase it has a cooldown.
Strength of the Pack – Average at best, because it isn’t an instant-cast stun breaker (like the endless Warrior slot skills that are all stun-breakers with stability)

Ranger is in a bad spot..and doubt that this situation will change in the future.

So every class has gotten improved with the the new trait system, except ranger and engi both of which have gotten worse and fallen by the way side. I’ve been hammering on the thieves and mesmers from ranged and they just heal and stealth right through it. FYI, a pet should be part of our control system, if you think they can be 30% of our damage, then find a new game! Note: I’ve been top 50 for the last 2 years, if u say L2P then F* off!

Ranger is bad and everyone knows that.
There is nothing to learn and nothing to improve.
After 3 years of disappointment..there are only 2 options left for a ranger : Changing class or changing game.

I take it as a challenge, everyone seems to think that ranger is the worst class for PVP and PVE. I’m going to try to prove those wrong ! There’s a lot of good build out there, and we can also try to think by ourselves and try something else than what is given to us.
If a build doesn’t suits you, why not trying another one ?
As I read on the forum, people tries to run a zerk build, or the same build on EVERY class they play, and complains it doesn’t work… A necro can DPS, it’ll not DPS the same way an ele do. Same for a Ranger.
It will take time, as I have to go all over the basics of the class, but I’ll get there eventually.

And I can tell you…and thurst me that it is totally broken and unbalanced ( in the negative way). A decent engi or thief or whoever you want will kill the ranger Always. No matter his skills. Simply becouse we have no decent F skills. Simply becouse we have no decent survival skills.

They even add internal CD on traits I never really bother to pick anyway lol…
Oh LotF would never be picked by any none SB spec ever, and SB is still a crap weapon.

So Mesmer is ok to have blind that ignores evasive/invulnerable target while taunt shouldn’t lol. The double standard is real.

plenty of classes have condition cures, I think there’s a field/finisher combo or two which can do the trick, and try building vitality instead of toughness.

simple tricks to help survive conditions.

Thank you for making the non condition heavy classes crappy now. You guys went way overboard with the damage. Boost base damage or nerf it to make it somewhat fair.

Learn to use counterbuilds versus condition damage dealers.
I give you a tip : Superior rune of melandru.

1) Healing spring is a Trap now, so Rune of Trapper should give you 3 sec of stealth when you use this skill. But it doesnt.

2) In final (23 june) realease notes it is said:
“Hidden Barbs: Bleeding you cause deals 33% more damage.”
But INGAME it is 20%.

You don’ t want to die versus conditions? Quit crying and learn to use countermeasures like :

1) superior rune of melandru
2) -40% condition duration food buff

Please Anet after years It’ a pleasure playing ranger . It has finally arrived where it deserves to stay. Please don’ t listen all the lazy kids who want to deal super phisical damage and in the meantime not wanting to trait for condi removal.

Be cause between the the two expansion there is a time of a couple of years you can’t play the new stuff. If you are fine with this tradeoff only to safe 45€ it’s your decision.

It looks like the Ranger CDI was a big Fail.

Two of the major ponits i can remember in the CDI have been: Pets which are still useless in most cases and the the Sword.
So what did we get from the CDI?

Pets are still broken.

Sword is still useless in in WvW and a safe way to kill yourself.

Shouts provide nothing to a party but to a useless perma dead Pet in WvW, and in PvP no one especially enemy’s do care about Ranger Pet’s.
There have been so many good ideas for pets, an alternative weapon for mele main hand aso. but nothing changed in the core. All we got was a pew pew pew build with more bursty feeling but not more dmg at all.

Look at the Twich Steram of DPS today, it was like a smack in the face, as if we do not get enough smacks in the face in WvW from any Commander and Guild actively NOT wanting Rangers in their Raids. Same in Dungeons and in PvP. So Rangers are only Playable in open world content until the waves of tequa kill your Pets.

I have read about a dev. complaining about the bad vibes she or he received because of the bad feedback they received during the announcement of the preorder debacle.
One twitter post was like: “Today i just don’t want to go online anymore”
For you it was one bad day, for us Rangers that’s how we feel in WvW since day one.

Mate i totally agree with every single words you wrote. As i had the chance to mention in some past posts..ranger is a cursed class.
We have two options : rerolling another class or quitting the game.
I love gw2 but I don’ t want to spend 50$ just to run always in the same issues regarding rangers….being kicked by dungeons..not accepted by competite guilds in wvw…and being called ^^ Aids^^ or cancer by popular Gw2 streamers..
3 years after day one and we still are here complaining… This must end soon in a good way ( fixing ranger and giving it some love ) or in a bad way ( quitting )

I got really depressed when i saw the ranger by DPS in twitch.
It shown a really poor performance, damage really really low, even lower than now (obviously you can see the missing damage traits) and comparing to other classes seems so weak, deeply weak and i think i was right to foresee the ranger become the pariah.

Some of you may think the streamer didn’t know how to play the ranger but even the basic damage seems really poor.
When he shown the traps it was so sad. The damage and conditions so weak…

I don’t know how it could improve. You can think like using long attack chains but actually i don’t think we still have the sustain to stay in place for long, most of our attacks root us (sword, barrage, whirling defence, maul…)

The condition damage didn’t look good either, Bleeding 2K per tick, something that is weak compared to other classes shown in the same stream.

Mate ranger in gw2 is in a bad spot. We have no other choice than changing class. Ranger unfortunatly is a cursed class and noone loves ranger..except us

I like too my ranger…but when i watch the streamers…or the developpers talking about rangers…They ALL seem bored..and if i can say that : kittened ^^
They Always spend just a couple of minutes talking about rangers…whereas when it comes to talk about warriors or guardians or thieves..WOHOHO they are so happy

Hello Everyone. Having the chance to watch all these streamers who talk about the upcoming balancing changes…Can i ask why when it comes to talk about ranger… they simply skip or say just few words?
For examply the streamer called ^^ DPS^^ he kept saying I don’ t like ranger… I don’ t like it…Bad…This is terrible..and so on.

It’ s truly a disappointment. No one likes rangers…no devs, no streamers..

First of all: I am sure there have been other posts like this before, so I am sorry if I bring this up right now.(I’ll delete this one if you can provide me with another post) Please also don’t see this as a hate post that ranger is too overpowered in general or something. I am just wondering what you think about this.

Right now Rapid Fire deals tons of damage on a 10 second cooldown (8 when traited right?). On a Light Golem it with power ranger it deals over half its HP, with not even every hit being a critical hit. Because Longbow is ranged it can stay at a nice range without being afraid to be targeted. (Some of those spots are the pillars in Spirit Watch or at the sides of the mid point at Temple of the Silent Storm).

I must say that 1 vs 1 Power Ranger is strong, but not too overpowered or something (I can beat it on my thief if I try my best) and in sPvP I basically only see two builds: Condi Ranger and Power Ranger, but I feel like ranger always has been a bit under the lader.

So to the point: I think Rapid Fire need to be changed because of the following reasons:

- Does way too much damage for a skill on 8 second cooldown
- Is Channeled, so you need to waste 2 dodges on it to dodge everything. (which leaves you vulnerable to other attacks, and since professions without vigor such as necro can only dodge once every 10 seconds, they are guarenteed to be hit by the full attack)
- Blind only affects the first arrow, so cannot be countered with this.
- Not every profession has good access to blocks and reflects (like Engineers and Gaurdians) with low CD’s like Rapid Fire.
- Cannot be countered by going into stealth since the skill will still complete.
- Some interrupts are generally too slow to counter all the damage.

I do believe that Ranger can use some buffs in other area’s though, I just think that instead of providing multiple skills that are decently strong, there is just one skill that is a bit too strong (while the other skills kittene a buff). Would most of you players still take longbow without rapid fire?

Simply learn to dodge and learn to counterplay rapid fire.

I made 4 ascended gear medium. Now you introduce this way to change stats on ascended gear. Can we players who spent much money on multiple ascended gear have some sort of compensation or refund?

Now new core specializations are on their way…and nothing will change for ranger status…which will be bad as Always.

Minor
You and your pet deal 5% less damage.
You and your pet have -10% condition duration.
You and your pet move 10% slower.

Adept
Your pet gains 25 stacks of might for 180s when you are defeated.
Your staff skills take 20% longer to recharge and deal 20% less damage.
Skills that affect allies no longer do.

Master
You lose 50% health when you reach 50% health.
Your staff skills inflict immobilise on you for 1s every second they are on CD.
Your pet deals 10% more damage but has 75% chance to miss, while you are under 25% health.

GM
You take 100% more damage above 50% health.
Whenever you inflict immobilise on yourself, you also inflict poison and torment, on yourself.
You lose 50% health whenever you swap pets.

Such synergy!

Hello all. I have a question.
It’ s been 3 years since gw2 is out and still there are no rangers in guild vs guild fights.
Can anyone please explain me why?
Moreover I’ ve noticed that there are never rangers on spvp high rated tournaments.
I would be thankfull if a dev could answer on this issue and if there are any cool plans regarding ranger status.
You know i like only ranger and i m a bit tired of the ^^ ranger discrimination which is totally legit right now considering ranger current status.

That’ s what i can’ t understand : 10 stacks of bleeding applied by only 1 player ( Me)….will do more damage after patch or less damage?^

I have a question : I’ m a solo roamer in wvw
Let’ s say i have 1200 condi damage and i apply on average a maximum of 10 stacks of bleeding but costantly.
Will i do more or less damage when the patch goes live?

Thief is overpowered and we all know that. Mobility, stealth , burst and so on.
I dunno if this is a bug or intentional but now the game is a little more fair and thanks to that, now thieves are human and not immortal gods.

I only know that when my pet dies I can’ t use any F skills. All the other classes can use their ( stronger ) F skills whenever they want.

I like the idea of wvw tournaments…but the transfer thingie ruined and killed tons of servers. If Anet decides to make another tournament..it must be transfer locked.
I still remember gandara server…It was a truly average server..but tons of guilds decided to move there before the tournament.. Result? Gandara won thanks to their new and shining zergs..whereas all the players who were loyal to their native servers got kittened…
I welcome new torunaments but with strict rules..like : ok you change server?^ Perfect you won’ t get your final reward…or you get the reward deserved by your NATIVE server.

I like so much the concept of the Dragonhunter. I love that guardian gets traps. For me They are ultra cool and seeing some of the ranger mechanics in it… CAN’ T WAIT TO PLAY IT
