Med kit totall rework – raids need a 1 healer for 10 ppl. Druid is ranged heal with utilities, ele is meele range with great heal, engi can be mobile average heal with great cc… but this is only sci-fi..
Engi need rework streamlined kits to be more rewarded for carpal tunel kit switching.
Alchemy have many potentional. Dont tell me if you drink elixir B then elixir C , inside you this two different elixirs must do something (some reaction) only thing for think.
Engi must choose path why you need him. Biggest condi dmg? Biggest cc? Meaby unique condi debuff? If anet don’t want touch on this, so make engi much easier to play….

I’d take power wrench instead of static discharge ( toolkit is really strong if traited ) and then i would take elixir B or U instead of rifle turret
Rifle turret is here because suprise shot. You can apply static discharge every 6 sec(suprise shot can be cast if you are stunned, withou icd instantly) this build is quite interesting burst. But if you are focused by enemy, you are in really big trouble.
Still lacking in cc presure and lack of stability which force you to count on your dodges.
Btw: 1v1 ~70-80%win rate over 25 games. Only one problem is good druids. Easiest against chronos/dh and temps.

How many times you see ele downed in raid? I run pugs and ele licking floor very often. My engi die only if I want. So ressing temp = loosing his dps + loosing dps other 1-3ppl. Tempest is great at gorsy, meaby bit on sabby (SD vannila engi is there amazing! Even if you must do cannons) but I don’t see reason why should go into risk and take squishy class which can lower group dps.
BTW: Running raids only with pugs, I know that there are great tempests, but not ususually in pug raids.

A.E.D can receive back 40sec cd, but then reduce cast time to insta or 1/4. From my testing this healing skill don’t work as I want. HT is still best healing option.
Toolbelt skill is a thing why I try to test A.E.D, but after I read that this one have 3/4cast time and only 180yd range?! I will prefer 0,5sec water field.
I play only core engi in spvp, meaby this skill can suit for scrappy idk, for me: Still garbage until they remove cast time.

I know only might stack with condi build.
After each fire bomb swap to flamethrower and detonate #2. This keep ~ 6 mights every time.
Before fire bomb deploy healing turret and big’o bomb, detonate HT in fire field. This can add another 6 stacks over time.
Orbital strike I use only into napalm from FT.
Big + is that this might stack you make in your rotation and not loosing much your dps and it’s easy and sustained.
I am not familiar with power version, but acid bomb/big bomb/thumpy turret can be way.

3. Yea everybody do things better then engi, and our condi dps (which is biggest on single target in game) is not needed. Do you go into risk and pick engi who have hard piano click (I like it btw) or you choose safe way..
4. But in solo content you can’t be suprised.
5. Tempests reward is great dmg, chrono is a brutal support and great in utility, ps warr+rev great support and great cc, condi necro big condi “cleave” and some utility with condis and druid great support and heal.
Our reward is piece of every class what I mention. We can stacking really easy 12 might stack in our rotation, we can do good fast cc, some quality of life(smoke bomb on gorsy/sabby/slothy..holding 2 spirits on gorsy..) some sustained heal (HT + pick, water field blast)… So we are rewarded-lot of work=lot of fun.

They receive from us many suggestions, ideas and other interesting things how to try repair engi in game modes… but they only change some numbers(cd, dmg, number of conditions apply) this is not balance for what I wait half year. Biggest smile make me if they nerf rocket charge. 3x leap – 2x finisher… why they not remove 1 leap(much work..) I was defend anet balance team and think that they make their job pretty well, but after last 2 patches I am really dissapointed.

This is my old build for open world and wvw. You can reach 25 might stack, 90%quick uptime(if you use elixir u) perma prot, swift, retalion, fury(if you use firearms no scope instead inventions) bigger personal dps, bigger fun and survivability.
But its 3 month old build so idk how work now in wvw.
Edit: toss elixir b give you l0ng stability and generate might + hgh+food+ hammer aa. You will be 25might stack over cap. But this is only SOLO not party based.

Look, I play only engi because I can solo everything. 1st week in hot content(which include tough HP champs) was really challange and big fun. I was usually run classic-rifle, nades, ft, eg. After I reach hard champs I improvize and switch traits, put some turrets into my utility bar, use condi etc. For each champ different build. So for me – yea, engi is great for open world. If you want farm use rifle+nades and riffle turret for suprise shot and you will burst enemies in few sec. You can switch into scrappy if you can’t face enemy.
Necro should be easier a lot, but I think smash somebody with wrench and cover by gear sheild while you doping yourself into angry rampager is much more fun :-)

Yea , I was put heavy effort on training my condi rotation to be perfect (while w1 arrive) put many golds into gear, many hours of testing and now my engi is useless in raids. Even if I was find raid guild, they ask me to go with my chrono or worst – tempest!!

If you mean that pylon can give you resistance. This can be interesting. This can allow engi more viability for example on sloth. But I am not sure if anet will touch med kit. There was much better suggestions then yours, more lore oriented, more balanced for wvw, pvp and pve at the same time and more balanced with other 8 classes too.

My scrapper is ultimate kiling machine in pvp. I choose 1 of my 3 builds before match which will suite against enemy comp. And my team , and I can say that explosive marauder hammer is deadly. Each seasson legendary div. Nerfs not touch me much. Meaby only rocket charge nerf is really dumb. 3 leaps 2 finishers… meaby nerf this to 2 leaps 2 finishers(no 3×1k dmg but 2×1k dmg) but reduce cd like before nerf to 10sec. At current state this skill looks silly.

Yea.. I remember half year ago I was said that engi don’t have any unique ability. 1st wing was good for engis – VG great condi dps (thanks for might and VULN stacking) + control seekers. Gorse for slick shoes.. After slick shoes nerf (which I agree but not happy) we loose our half-ticket for raids.
Ziggs suggestion is perfect and in terms of balance. You will want 1 engi in your raid, and hell yes this prevent from 1 class stacking in squad.

Xyonon open my eyes, our group try replace 2 tempests for 2condi engis in salvation pass.
Ressults: sloth 2nd pull (usually 5th)
Trio 1st pull
Mathias 1st pull(usually 10th, this one should be luck, i will try edit next try)
Sabetha: 4x temp no engi (6th pull), next day 3x temp 1x engi (6th pull-same party)
We will continue to monitoring this. Engi bring really good utility with not cost of dps(healing turret, blinding mobs, condi clear) we still use only 1 engi on gorsy because staff temp is really good there.

Now with dps test golem I am sure that condi engi not offer good dps(even in 95%perfect rotation), no proffesion utility like empower allies, no boon share… so thanks anet. Floating shiny thing-this is my most famous utility in spvp. This one was be my ticket to legendary div. This thing decap bunker tempests. I am gyro hater, but dmg/heal(final salvo+rapid regen) /cc/boon /15sec cd -in one utility is really OP.

This will give you most offensive option with decent quality of life(streamlined kits-perma swift, adrenal implator-50%endurance regen etc)
If you will have problem with champs, swap firearms to inventions(2/2/2) bunker down is huge sustain boost.
Utilities:
-healing turret (deploy, overcharge, destroy-best heal)
-elixir gun(4-acid bomb-use it, and swap weapon to stop leap)
-nade kit(your main autoattack+shrapbel/freeze/poison have high base dmg)
-free (reccomend slick shoes for champ break bar, thumper turret for kite mobs etc.. Justr try put here what suite for you)
-elite: mortar(aoe blind, aoe chill, toolbelt blast finisher)
Use on riffle 3 and 5 skill, then swap to nade kit, throw 2,4,5 then swap elixir gun use 4 swap in air to rifle, use 3 on rifle, swap to nade kit use 2 and autoattack. This is fast guide how kill mobs fast. Engineer is not good at spam autoattack. If you try put best dmg skills on cd, you will progress really faster.
With solo champs a reccomend slick shoes or toolkit (traited in tools ) this will give you 3sec block with 13sec cd. You can count 50% endure regen with trait+ 50% from vigor(every time you use tool belt skill).

For me, best champ solo is basic condi engineer meta build. You just only need land 1 skill to deal a lot of dmg. This will allow you kite champs and use “easy burst”.
Pro:
-lot of vulnerability
-5skills(which 2 fields) of blind condition for trash mobs
-solid cc
-high dmg output(fire bomb, blowtorch, incideary ammo…)
-quality of life; tools trait-50% endurance regen, perma swift, auto stun break
-really good build for solo migraine hot achievement
Cons:
-fragile
-must have good precision how to put skills and what you must dodge
-fast fingers
-carpal tunnels

Class balancing is a PvP issue. I do not believe this idea deserves any dev time because most of us would like to see content instead.
You’re only speaking for yourself, though. I want to see more content added too. Class balancing is a big issue in PvP, and it should be addressed soon.
I am with this guy. Class balancing is top priority. First make a game that works like intended, then make content for it. It doesn’t matter much for PvE, but it matters a hell of a lot for WvW and SPvP.

So my suggestion is add option, to choose which combo field you prefer. After you choose one, you will use finishers to fields which you have choosen in option. Look for example
-random
-your combo fields
-your party combo fields
-fire field
-water field
-etc
Why I want it? I am disapointed how current raid meta work. You need PS warr for might(yea banners too), healing from druids etc. I don’t see anyone(only at fight start) who will over fight use directly combos, because this isn’t work. You have many different fields on floor and hit field which you need at the moment is impossible.
Meaby this option should not be allowed in pvp.
What do you think about this?

Try to find exp groups. Commy who creating squad want eliminate casual players if he write this. Then he decide who show bigger experience and right gear(if we run 1ps warr i want rune of strenght for example). Then you proof yourself on boss. I give always 2 wipes, then change something of change players. Thats how succesfull raids work. Today we wipe on sabby(1st wipe) I kick 4 ppl and replace them. Then kick 1 person after 2nd pull, and on 3rd we had succesfull kill. If your squad leader don’t solute problems, don’t waste your time. Leave squad. Create your own, and if you are bad english speaker(like me) then hire somebody elwho will speak, like me do it today on sabetha. GL!!

I am only one who think that TP is under fire of bots? I try search some of theese programs to know how it works and it’s not hard to find some.
I know how somebody thinking. If I have 30 buy orders (same category) increase price more, but on 3 buy orders I will overpriced it only with 2 items, normal human never overbid this. 2 items overbid for no profit… by 20items. And not only 1st time.
I always bid under overpriced if amount of buy value is not high…but this is mindless. So can be this bot?

How do you balance pvp? How do game developers balance the classes between players of varying skill?
Remove passive trais (except minor) and bring only traits which improve your skills/utilities.
For example: Remove rapid regen trait in scrapper line. Change it into Something like: " if your hp drops bellow 50% and you are affected by superspeed, your heal skill heal you + 3k hp" or high amount over 5sec or something like this.
This only not for scrapper, but for all.

How do you get 80%? You have just the trait wich lasts 6s/10s => 60%
- 60% from trait, and elixir U (12sec/40sec)= 30%? meaby 20% I am not sure.
-One of our engies brings to the table reflects, cleanses and ccs.
I will probably change elixir B with eg for more cleanses and retal.
-On slothy I bring converting condi to boons,reflects are minor … but slick shoes works pretty well.
-And yea dmg is much lower. This one si focused more for solo play. In raid you get boons from herald/chrono/ps warr, here you will make your boons yourself but with cost of passive effects. So this is really strong build for solo, but medium or lower for team play. (In fracs and dungeons this can work)

As you can see, we have really similiar builds.
And yea this is a thing!! But not many ppl know it. This build are not focused on team play, but it shine in open world or wvw.
If you want know cons i can put there some:
-not team based(many boons you apply only yourself)
-lower dmg(even if you reach 100% quickness up time-and this is real)
-toss elixir U is tricky, if you need reflect, murphy rule say-if you need reflect wall you get smoke wall.
I will write pros with my build:
-perma protection
-perma 25 might stack(no sigil, no FT, only toss elixir B,HGH..)
-on demand 80% quick uptime
-perma fury
-perma regen
-60% 3stack stability uptime
-perma swiftness
-10% resistence uptime
-1 free utility slot for current situation demand(wvw-> necro = elixir c, warrior-bulky gyro etc.)
-high sustain
In your build try to take always elixir gun. Acid bomb make great dmg and EG profit from hgh 3 times(TB, acid bomb, super elixir).
My crit chance is somewhere around 92% if I remember right. But still, even if you put everything into the offensive option, you will have medium dps and not party based. So for fracs-condi engi. For open world/wvw-your build.

-perma protection(rune of durability,trait)
-perma swiftness(blast in lighting field)
-perma quickness(swap slick shoes for elixir U)
-heavy tanky(swap slick shoes for bulky gyro)
-big solo dmg(swap inventions trait to fire arms-3-3-2)this mean perma fury now
-perma 25might stack(use toss elixir b under you=3stack of stability for 8sec=might bumping via trait)
-Elixir gun provide condi clean+acid bomb for solid dmg and hgh synergy
This build work for me, I dont like flame thrower, so I find this old pvp utility+ trait setup and add only different gear. Depend on situation you will never have problem if you setup your utilites(for wyvern in hot areas use slick shoes to destroy all cc bar, for solo champ bulky gyro, for old content firearms trait and elixir U)

I make some changes too. With right traits, boons and 90% perfect rotation I reach 29k dps on sabby during 1st phase. I was must try it myself ,because I saw engi with 24k so, still i think you can have most effective gear, but core dps of condi engi is perfect rotation. :-)
On VG you can reach high numbers too. Just you must know when tank move boss and when which skill is suitable to put at current time. Same on gorsy, or slothy. Sigh… i wish that slick shoes can affect burnin.… such dps lost with this :-)

Finally some fun with necros and you want take it. Everytime when I face 1v1 reaper it is like good vs evil. Necro corrupt my boons to condi, and I transfer condi into boons… I have with scrappy many boons up, and never had many problems with scepter… where you take this bullsh—-(sorry) if someone have time to land 1 aa scepter chain that is ok… 1 corrupt boon, 1 fast cleanse. 2nd chain is something wrong and 3rd you facing low skill team. So, I am meaby necro hater, but scepter boon corrupt is ok.

Thats truth. Power scrappy have more better trade off utility then condi (tested myself on gorsy).
And yea, metabattle is only help to give you build, which you will improve. I change in condi build adrenal implantant fot kinetic battery (double incendiary ammo) and have cool results. (About 600-1k dps increase)

3-remove triple leap finisher (set it to only 1) – wut?? Make all 3 leaps into one but with same dmg dealt? Okay (2k+2k+2k = instant 6k dmg, I accept)
4-Remove damage from block but keep vuln stacks – useless now, so reduce cd then.. To 12sec… or viable toolkit without trait..
5-Reduce range to 600 – ok, can be only around you
Slick shoes no longer knocks opponent down if they are not moving-ok
Poison Grenade reverted to a poison field- you take my heart, I am with you!

Fine as is. – seeker rocket cd reduce to 5sec, but active only on explosion crit.
Firearms-
Fine as is.- ok
Inventions-
Heal resonator regen duration reduced to 3 sec.
Energy amplifier reduced to +150 healing power instead of 250 – 150… ok but for other allies
Bunker down Med pack regen reduced to 3 sec and CD increased to 5 sec- delete and bring back eib.
Alchemy-
Protection injection CD increased to 10 sec – and increase prot dura for 6 sec…
Remove Self-Regulating Defenses and replace with Automated response (Incoming condition duration reduced by 25% while below 50% hp) – cool
Backpack regen base increased to 150 hps – not needed
Tools-
Streamlined kits cd reduced to 10 sec and swiftness reduced to 10 sec- yea! Finally most step further and this trait can be key how to make core engi more viable! I really use SK on situation(weak slick shoes via EG etc) good point!
Lock on changed to “Striking a foe in stealth shoots a rocket at them and knocks them down” (basically the explosives one) (10 sec CD)
Adrenal implant allowed to stack with vigor- its not?

I reach diamond div today with my engi soloq, but I forgot that I must play up to 3 proffesions. Why they put this —-— achi… it took me a lot of time to know which build setup is effective against enemy and with current team compositions..
So my question is: what proffesions and builds are easy to master and still effective. I try reaper(both builds) unranked easy, ranked diseaster. I don’t want make team mates bad games… please for advice thanks.
