For a couple of days I have been opening packs of 100-200 of this (I think 500-700 in total, cant remember exactly). I was also curious about what the result would be, if it would be worth it to get some of the rarer bag drops.
Depending on the drops, you pretty much get back what you spent by selling the 400 crafting items (the rest is usually so low value that I dont even bother selling it, lol). I also got 2 giant eyes which helped even the budget.
Either way, the drop rates are pretty horrible. Getting a paltry 200 bags legit would take AGES. Its not like every Orr mob drop them either. You’d have to kill like 1000 mobs? Not exactly worth it for the loot that comes out the bags, when considering them alone.
Play a female Sylvari. Engage in combat. You can take your Adult movie anywhere.
You dont even need a female sylvari. My Charr female Warrior scare me every time. She’s so kitten dominating!
“Gaining adrenaline!”. I’m exited to!
“Almost ready!”. Same…
“On My Mark!”. I know where to aim woman!
“Here I come!”. … … …
“Shake It Off!” What the… OH GOD ITS ALL OVER ME!!!
“For Great Justice!”.kitten!!
If it has anything to do with a quest, there’s probably no particular drop.
Guessing its similar to the area in the volcano zone with the 20+ champions in a cave, or the 20ish area above metrica with 80 champions guarding a keep… kitten I want to attack that keep so badly. You’d need like 100 players, lol.
So…
Is the sound bug ever going to be fixed? It ruin my WvW experience practicly every time.
GW2 remain the only game that has ever caused what appear to be complete hardware malfunction. Why do I say hardware malfunction? Because GW2 breaks the sound about 6/10 times even when exiting the game. Yes, it starts to crackle and break up so one have to reboot the machine. I have never seen anything similar that make a game bug actually have an effect on sound drivers. Usually games just crash, but no. GW2 breaks the sound both ingame and in Windows.
So what’s the latest word from the devs on this? Hard to keep track on all the posts here…
Or you’re killed in an undead heavy area, and you’re brought back as a risen!
They did something similar in the beta, where you got corrupted by Kralkatorik upon death and went on to kill players.
So the feature is already there, Anet just hasnt decided to use it for the final game. It’d be an interesting thing, if done better than the beta (which had invincible and broken Rytlock and Eir running around instakilling everything and gave you halfarsed skills as corrupted rather than just changing the character model).
What I want to know is if the game was developed for DX11, would we still have this issue?
I think we were all surprised that the game would only support DX9, it’s seriously outdated! Even today I can go to a PC store and buy a DX11 graphics card for £30.
The game should have been DX10 minimum. I’ve read posts about people saying the game hardly uses their graphics card. The game still needs a lot of work and I hope the February update brings a lot of changes for the game, and hopefully for the better.
Err… How do you think games handled rendering in the past? DX version has little to do with it. If you go buy a DX11 card for £30 and think it will outperform a £200 top of the line DX9/DX10 card then your are delusional.
But this issue isnt about hardware performance, its about the basic functions of the engine.
As I said above, when there is one (as in 1, a single) player in front of you and his player model is being culled by the engine when the game can run at 200+ fps… Something is wrong. Seriously wrong.

Is this a global rendering change to the engine or is it an exclusive setting to WvW?
It feels like I keep seeing more invisible friendlies in PvE as well, even in low pop zones where there is 1 player in front of me only visible by weapons fire, until he pops up 10 seconds later O.o
But it might just be placebo.
Warriors are a little boring compared to the mechanics of some of the other classes, yes…
But do you know what I find not boring? Not dying.
That’s why I keep playing my Warrior rather than my “fun” Engineer, which was actually my first 80. I rather like the “boring” aspect of the defensive Warrior. It allow me to focus on tactics instead of employing fancy skills.
So indeed negating damage by blocking at the right time may not be as fun as using a flamethrower and laughing every time you hear the woooosh. But who cares, I’m still having too much fun to hear the sounds of an Engineer dying.
IMO the fix for this is very simple and I hope Arenanet has learned it:
- 5 man instances as event locations (with a one time completion bonus/limited time its open). This will allow everyone to complete the event in their own pace with friends.
- New raid instances for 10-20 people. Gather a larger group and do the event. Same basics the above, just tuned for more people.
World events should only be “you really want to see this and experience it, but it doesnt ruin anything if you happen to miss it as the main event is an instance” type events.
Yes.
Its that simple.
In a word: No.
It was not worth it. If I had been running Orr, dungeons or WvW in the same time I was in Southsun or doing events. I would have gotten SO MUCH loot.
I got nothing out of this event.
The Fractals is the only thing good about it. This dungeon concept is quite awesome and I hope they expand upon it. They can start with making the entrance in another zone than LA >.<
They just hit harder they go down as easy as anything else. You just can’t face roll them get over it and Blind/Stun/CC/Heal them down.
Well, facerolling is relative… Changed my Warrior build to mace/sheild, block to reflect.
Press 5 to win and 2 in case Karka has backup.
Insert maniacal laughter at your own discretion.
Run around Southsun for 1 hour.
Do 1 Plinx run (maybe 10-15 minutes).
Reflect on the fact the Plinx run give you 10x loot compared to 1 hour of Southsun.
A little, but not overly so.
Young karkas are easy, I can kill them without loosing any HP. If you cant dodge then stun. They only have time to fire their burst once.
Veterans are considerably harder than Orr veterans, but still easy to bring down with a 5 man team.
IMO that’s pretty much as it should be.
so now a lot of people are only able to do the quests on one toon because they were under the impression that ALL of phase 1 would be available during the entire event.. not just the second half of it.
What do you mean? No part of phase 1 is possible. You cant do the start because the two plaza NPCs arent there. You cant finish it because all other NPCs arent there either.
Personally I am stuck on the very last part – the stupid quaggan was bugged so even if I did turn in the three items to her so she could remember, she never gave me the final item.
And even if I had said items… The plaza NPCs are still gone.
I’m honestly not too sure how the start of the event could have been much more clear. The Lost Shores objective display in the upper right gave step by step instructions on where to go as things happened. NPCs and the harbor departure location were marked on the map..
… Unless of course, it was bugged. On my end there where no step by step instructions (just that the lionguard was preparing weapons – it said exactly the same thing throughout the “event”), the NPCs just dissapeared, the Karka “event” started and ended in minutes followed by exactly nothing. No NPCs, no marked harbour location.
AFAIK phase 1 seems to have ended despite promises it would continue.
Try restarting it. I was also finally able to proceed past the Hatchery and Claw Island of course bugged the first time through – it wouldnt even proceed past the first step where you go talk to Traherne. Claw Island has always bugged on every character for me, in various ways (favorite was being stuck in an infinite battle because the dragon never attacked).
Yep. Its still bugged. I have tried so many times now the last couple of weeks in the hopes that the ongoing patches fixes it. They havent. 2 days left until the fix is “supposed” to be in. I wont be that surprised if it isnt.
