I find that the main layout of the new forum is OK, but when you go into one of the forums… oh dear… just… no… Anet no. That look horrible for a forum. And then when you go into a thread it look fine at a glance in the long comments but then you get to short comments (like 1-2 lines with lots of users on screen) and again it look horrible. All that red crap and text and icons are just shoved into your face everywhere.

The design just hurts my eyes.

But I guess we have to deal with it :/

This makes absolutely zero sense since the T3 objectives and tier based PPT is the very resason scoring is so kittened up and can never be fixed as is – because Anet broke the balance on purpose and obviously dont want to fix it. Resetting them to T0 is nothing in terms of PPT compared to the side already having them as T3.

Your suggestion would just make it 10x worse unless we assume that you also meant to say that there is zero PPT gain during the night. Glhf fixing that for US servers.

Does it really cause frustration… or keep us going by shaking things up?

Because the linkings still cause a ruckus every other month instead of stagnate the tiers. It’s just a continuous cycle now – T3 server gets linked because it’s “weak”, the new link pair skyrocket to the top shifting everything on it’s way, the link pair become T1 and is now considered “strong”… so it gets unlinked and plummeth in the tiers because it can no longer fight T1. At around T3 it stabilize and then is considered “weak” again and… it gets a new link. Cycle repeats.

So it’s just a matter of picking your fetish – do you want to be a lava lamp or a stagnant puddle of stinking water?

Its literally just going to be more condi. The meta everyone in WvW is tired of isnt going away because anet isnt choosing to nerf condis beside keep giving them buffs and give every class more and more condi…

But will it really?

90% of the current meta condi scourge – pun intented – come from dc reapers. If lots of corrupts on the scourge mean its “stronger” in the general then we’re gonna see alot less direct condis the more popular the scourge is. The zerg meta would shift toward less boon heavy builds and more raw power builds.

… to parrot a thing I’ve said before – I think they should revamp the engineer 1-weapon idea and give a second slot (in the player menu, like normal) where you choose a skill kit. In your skill selection, this kit gets greyed out.

That way all engineers including elite specs get at least 1 kit even if they choose nothing in their 3 skill slots, at a slight disadvantage of swap cd and of course you cant put sigils in it.

All buff no nerf for a kittening change.

Still running p/p condi scrapper in WvW daily, still one of the best if not the best resser/stomper under pressure. It is always underrated by the enemy. Hell even in zergs I have been able to stomp people just because they go “oh that solo guy downed one of our guys in the back lol lets just lazily run and res because he’s already running away…”

Sure we got no teleports to escape with but at least we’re not kittening coward thieves that will always run away burning. When we burn we drink homemade “elixir”.

Just a matter of trying to put a square peg into a round hole.

Good rangers, thieves and engineers will use player killer builds and know how to handle them, both pros and cons. The main con often being that sure, you can easily build to survive and support in a zerg, but if you do that you no longer have a player killer build which kind of defeats the purpose of using these classes.

If you come with these classes to a zerg, it’s gonna be assumed you are a bad player. And they are going to intentionally make it worse by putting you in “ranged” parties followed by loud and vocal complaints about how you could possibly die when for some mysterious reason that 5 guardian group that had stability didnt, it’s clearly your fault for not being in such a group. Dont give them that. You’re a medium armor class for cripes sake! We all know what a bad player is – that plump looking guardian falling behind the main group while trying to wave a staff in your face doing no damage.

Probably the best zergs you can fight against as these classes are the ones commanded by someone that doesnt give a kitten about his backline, and that backline consist of classes desperatly trying to fit in just to be able to zerg. Cloud the backline and watch them fall like dominoes while the frontline train is laughably trying to 25v3 whenever they find a big enough group of players to steam towards.

TL;DR do what you’re good at. Dont be a brainless zerger.

So what happens on a border where one side has 10 players that wont fight and the reason being that the other side has a 70 man monoblob that wont split up. Nobody gets participation? Nobody plays WvW?

Everytime someone would go into WvW it would be like “can someone please cap that camp? kitten no never I dont get participation and I risk giving participation to enemy players” jumps around on a wall going lolololol at enemy players and then leave the objective as soon as they are in so they dont get any pips

Healing Engineer Build

Typically I just jam a couple of water fields and burst finishers into my utility bar for heal emergencies and call it a day.

Supply Crate is very nice for that. Time it right and you can use Heal Turret’s F1 skill for a Heal blast combo with Supply Crate for a nice little combo, and then overcharge the Supply Crate’s own Heal Turret before detonating for another Heal burst.

Shield 4 can be double-tapped to burst off of a water field, too,, and both Flamethrower AND Elixir Gun have Burst Finishers, and on it goes. It’s an easy way to splash some heals around.

Problem still being that while you are doing all the fancy combos the class have, condis still tick for more damage than you heal while you are just giving the enemy free reign to apply even more.

Its like a rap battle, except the guy you are trying to show off against is weilding a claymore. And he doesnt like rap.

1500 range adds a lot to it. As well as the fact it can be chained indefinitely.

Not saying it’s a great strategy, but it’s certainly not one to ignore the possibility of.

Range doesnt add much when the group can permastealth and portals could be chained to move it anywhere on the map in 5 seconds.

Fact remains that with imagined coordination, classes/theoretical groups have been this strong and stronger for 5 years.

f1 cant be reflected, so take mug and have everyone push f1 to pin snipe and boon strip without kneeling. take the refresh on kill trait. you prolly only need 20 deadeyes to down someone instantly, so the rest of the group can be a scourge turtle or something.

You don’t even need anyone else, since you can all focus single targets down and gain stealth afterwards too. If you had 15 deadeyes, you could perma stealth and kill one by one without attacking at all, with just the F1.

Something like this with the elite being Shadow Meld and the other utility skill being a venom.
Deadeye traits would be Revealed Malice, Unforgiving for a chained CC that lasts forever and Be Quick or Be Killed so when you F1 the next target, you have the additional Power for Mug.

As that is, with just 15 deadeyes pressing F1, they will do 22155 direct damage on a target with 2600 armor and 30 stacks of Poison for 20s, which is 4897.5 per second, not counting any venom effects. You’d have to be pretty unlucky for them to live through that and the F1 gives you stealth and refreshes instantly if you kill. This could be stealth trapper all over again. Then they could actually use rifle skills.

Takes serious co-ordination, but it’s a massive troll.

Well if you had 15 vanilla mesmers you would probably do 50,000+ instant direct damage on a target by pushing 1 skill button. Pretty hard to survive that. And they can do while running. And they would kill the 4 guys around the target too. And they can repeat it 1 second later if the first hit wasnt effective (got to kill the ressers).

Tell me why exactly the deadeyes F1 should sound threatening compared to this?

The 7700HQ? It’s considerably slower than a 7700K (about 50% of it) and the 6700K shouldnt be far from that. Considering GW2 is heavily CPU dependant, slower performance is unsurprising. Otherwise the laptop GTX1060 should be roughly the same performance of the desktop GTX970.

People that AFK for participation gains can be annoying yes, but tbh I fail to see how these reward farmers are any worse than the usual 30+ “hardcore” raid guild players standing and jumping around in spawn from 19:00-20:00 waiting for their glorious leader, while the rest of us just lost outmanned trying to fight 10v50 on our spawntower.

It’s like the mesmer in 2013 (or 2014 ?), when he had that trait, and took fall damages, and did 20k every sec with the aoe that pop under its feet.

Chaos storm has never done 20k damage a second.

It was a bug and lasted like 2 weeks. Fun as hell while it lasted. Only affected Chaos Storm from the falling trait.

That lasted for 2 weeks??

Holy crap, I really must be on a different wave length from the developers of this game.

That would’ve received an immediate response of disabling the chaos storm part of the trait from me. Wow….

I seem to recall it was fixed in a matter of hours (patch came out in the late evening EU time, by the next morning it was sadly fixed so we didnt get experience the fun.

Might be remembering some other bug though

In terms of at least WvW, they could “fix” the gyros a little bit with simple effort IMO:

Add damage and 1s daze to the blast gyro tag. Add 2s superspeed duration on the toolbelt skill.

Add instant 2 condi cleanses to purge gyro and 5s of AoE stability. Make the toolbelt skill destroy projectiles.

Make the shredder gyro reflect projectiles. I honestly have no kittening idea what the toolbelt skill does.

The logic of this is silly.

Deadeye may be fun, but whats the difference of 30 rangers sniping the commander, 30 warriors, 30 revs smacking the hammer down for 200K+ damage, etc and so on? Or 30 of any combination of ranged classes targetting a single player.

If this was effective, it would have been meta 5 years ago.

I’m not necessarily challenging that it’s better than Apothecary or a dedicated condition build, just that full Cele w/ Juggernaut is quite effective if you can stick to your target to maintain pressure. Though I don’t use it for roaming, it’s a tag and bag bot for zerging, it can still be nasty in small scale as well as providing good AOE heals/support like reviving or condition clearing.

Oh I know. I have been running a celestial variant in the past (and every other variant) and might do it again. I have also fought that exact type of scrapper you describe and they can be really nasty indeed. Hell, I even fought a rifle scrapper with something similar and he made it work pretty good. The problem is I prefer pistols which scale poorly with power and I roam in 1-3 man groups 95% of the time. Apothecary is worse for zerging yes and I do feel it in terms of flexibility when I am forced into attacking a zerg. I just find it somewhat better against certain evade builds littering the field like lost kittens…

Some day I got to remember to dps test the difference just in armor/trinkets. Wish I had legendary armor lol.

The necessary rune of the traveler for wvw also scares me away.

There is another Rune with different stats available that grants +25% speed: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Rune_of_Speed – it’s a lot easier to aquire (you can either buy the Lodestones in the ah or farm them on your own. I did this in Malchor’s Leap by killing spark elementals. About every 50th dropped one) and the additional vitality also probably isn’t the worst stat in pvp because of conditions, but I have to admit, that I barely play WvW or PvP.

To add to that, traveler/speed runes is only required on a select group of classes and specs. It’s really only a few that “require” travelers.

To give an example, my p/p condi scrapper with alchemy/firearms must use travelers or be slow as molasses. Cant spec toolkit swap speed, wont have mechalegs. It’s a sacrifice I have to make.

However, power scrapper or power/condi engineer specs dont need it – they run with inventions most of the time, ie mechalegs.

Another example is my DH roamer. Again, I am forced toward travelers. Cant get speed from the staff (not using a staff), nothing in the way of skills (not running retreat). But regular zerger guardians scoff at that, they just stack a million years of swiftness.

And those two pretty much cover the range of classes, lol. The others usually get speed one way or another, or they dont need (supported by said zerger guardians).

So the predicted patch changes…

Orbital Command: Is now instant strike. Strike is single target and cooldown increased to 45s to compensate.
Mine Field: Amount of mines doubled and deployed in a more predictable way. Damage has been removed and mines now cause voulnerability for 1.25s instead.
Mecha Legs: Moved trait to baseline holosmith. Replaced with a trait that gives you 3s of swiftness when hit (30s icd).

As above stated, Ryzen 1600 is a good compromise at the moment. Its not ideal for GW2 but then again bying an Intel at the moment is pointless too – in about 1 months time everything will get shuffled when Coffe Lake come out, prices on 7th gen should drop.

Because it uses the same 14nm technology and the major optimization of this technology was at the release of kaby lake.

Its impossible to tell the effect of that.

A long time ago we ran an engineer raid and destroyed the enemy 50+ man zerg multiple times just by dumping supply drop in one place. It was hilarious to see. Everyone laughed so hard. One second they where alive and steaming toward us, the next rooted and dead in a 5 fps sea of turrets.

So the conclusion is vanilla engineer is OP in WvW and need to be nerfed to the ground?

No.

It just shows people have no kittening idea how to fight new things. After a couple of hours they knew what was up and had turned the tables, winning every fight instead. I have no doubt the new elites need to be nerfed some way or another but how about we wait for release?

you want something that really heals? (in terms of hp/s … nothing else). beware – its super stationary and can do nothing besides the hp/s fact: no dps, no class buffs, not even a burst heal available.

(dwayna rune could be possibly better, cause of the regeneration provided.)

it looks super weird (in fact, it IS super weird) but the heal is about 1500hp/s on allies.
but again: it doesnt offer anything else. ( 6sec protection and almost constant super speed ).
the combo however is pretty easy. camp mekittenit 1111
stand in your blasted gyros (each blasted gyro is about 4sec = 5-6sec super speed) to gain super speed, super speed (and swiftness and backpack regenerator and regeneration) heals you. in combination with medical dispersion field -> heals allies for 20% of that amount (times the multiplier on healing allies + multiplier of health insurance (trait)).
each blast heals another 700 + 20% of the 700 healed on yourself. f1 is another 1.3k heal on allies. 6sec water field on elite (heals again ofc).

however… three more flaws: most of the actual heal only has effect, when you are hit and actually heal yourself (afaik). so it would be possibly better if that engi tanks (raid?).
second: lightning fields all over the place = meh!
three: no projection at all (as mentioned above in “super statonary”)

i doubt it would work in any scenario i can think of. but playing with the numbers and mechanics offered… was fun
after having such fun, its almost sad it doesnt really work – not even a niche ^^

Well, work is such a relative term. Does all that work to achieve 1500 theoretical hps? Sure it does!

But a mesmer can do a theoretical 2000 hps on allies by pushing one button. That works too.
