A Sniper is set much further back, typically alone and never with any form of troops.
And then the sniper 360 no-scope the enemy and runs up to teabag the him.
A sniper is typically never alone and will most likely be supporting/supported by troops in one way or another. Probably more typical to someone scouting over a keep or a 2 man havoc group in WvW rather than a solo gank thief running around.
Change class.
No really, it works lol. The long loading screen is triggered by certain class abilities, most often teleports.
This “revolutionary” idea has been brought up before and it doesnt work the way outmanned is currently implemented. You would have 5v50 outmanned on one side of the map while 10v2 are laughing their kitten off on the other side cause those 10 are outmanned vs 2 players. This system would require such delicate balancing down to the square meter of terrain it would be impossible not to exploit it.
You know the only thing I want for outmanned?
Dont kittening count the players AFK/determined buffed in spawn.
It seems to have gotten far worse the last couple of patches.
About 80% of my pulls near max distance just result in the enemy player jerking 2m toward me and then instantly continue to run.
Honestly, I’d rather have a reliable pbaoe knockback instead at this point. Reverse that magnet polarity and maybe the kitten will work right.
Sometimes when you pull people, then immediately Pry Bar them, it’ll miss even though the animation shows it connecting. This might be lag or server side lag.
I dont think its merely lag, it’s complete desync. When roaming with a guildie some time ago, we actually got to see what was going on. I pulled someone and my wrench just didnt hit. No miss, no block, no nothing, like swinging air. So I went “did you see that?! I just pulled and missed point blank!” and he said but you never even pulled him. Neither of us was experiencing any lagging at the time but still what I saw wasnt the same thing thing he saw. On my screen I pulled him successfully. On his screen (and obviously the server) he wasnt pulled, just frozen in place instead.
I am starting to wonder if this is actually the “jerking” we see. The player isnt being pulled because of missing, passive trait, something triggered but on our screens we see him being pulled just a bit until the server catch on and goes “wait a second…”.
Either way that kitten is broken.

It really depends on what you want.
When I tested the holo saturday, I quickly realized what it was: basicly a berserker (I havent played the new warrior elite, so HoT is my reference). You got damage, you got mobility, you got many of the defensive capabilities of an engie. Its gonna be a good +1 I imagine.
The scrapper however still remain the supreme stomper/resser and multitasker in skirmishes that’s larger than just duels or +1 on already engaged 1v1. 2v2, 3v3, unless the enemies are fools that stack on top of each other I think the scrapper has more utility. Then again we are talking sPvP, everyone are forced to be fools that stack on top of each other.
80+ fps in WvW lol, troll post or what… that is literally the lowest end of hardware. Its worse than the 5 year old machine I use for GW2 and it croaks in zerg combat.
Of course it’ll work, but you wont maintain any 80+ fps. In large clashes I doubt Titan XP in SLI config can even do that.
kill shot warrior doesn’t have an entire elite spec dedicated to it.
Doesn’t matter. A player must be punished if they are bad and firing at a warrior that’s using his reflect.
Have you tried roaming around in WvW? You can no longer fight without a deadeye being 1500 distance away hiding in stealth waiting to instant down you with a 20k damage spammable shot. I should be able to counter him by reflecting his shot back at him while I’m using an obvious reflect skill.
I’ve been roaming all weekend and met 2 deadeyes in total. Solo roaming the dd is 10x stronger due to being practicly immortal with all the evades and heavy AoE dmg. 1v1 should be fine, depends on what you meet. 1vX its easily swamped. Deadeye IMO need its own havoc group to work decently.
Thats not bad per say, I still like the spec and I am sure good thieves will find some way to exploit it to the max, but I really dont see it taking over from the dd in terms of roaming. Sort of the same deal with rifle warrior. Yeah it got range, yeah you can roflstomp people with killshot, but when was the last time you saw it in the meta? Nike warrior beat it for the same reason dd will beat de.
Also, this game engine needs to die and they must create a new one. It’s old and can’t handle the scope of the game in my opinion.
This is sadly why GW3 is nowhere NEAR being close to even being on their drawing board.
I am not sure how you think the two things relate but I am pretty sure that GW3 was on the drawing board before GW2 was even released.
Either way it really doesnt matter – if GW3 is in development it will still be 1-3 years from announcement to release. And it hasnt been announced. It was 7 years between GW1 and GW2.
Strange, I count only 26 weapon skills + 5 support skills. Ok, if you pick 4 conjures, then you get 46 skills.
Ignoring conjures, where are you getting the extra weapon skills from? Last I checked an ele has 4 attunements with 5 weapon skills each, ie 20.
More character slots so you have for each class, 2-3 more bank spaces and 500-750 storage would be basic priorities. On your main characters you will probably want 100-150 slots as well.
And maybe a quaggan hat.
Ele doing that kind of damage – most likely dps build
Necro only having 21K hp – most likely dps build
The ele killed you before you killed him. Simple as that. A single autoattack would have taken 50% of his hp. A fresh air stunner basicly only have that initial stunning burst to kill you, or it’s dead.
Which pics are the originals? Because if upper are the originals, they look a lot better then the bottom blueish, darker pics.
Depends on what monitor was used to tweak the settings and the settings used.
On my TN the before pics looks washed out, the after pics look better.
On my IPS the before pics look perfectly fine while the after pics looks too murky and dark, loosing all detail.
Kind of funny because the after pics is looking like an oversaturated version of the IPS when seen on the TN. So hey if someone got a kitten monitor and want a cheap mans IPS, maybe this look better lol :p
Since he don’t fight you back and keep running, i think there is a high possible he’s lagging.
Probably the complete opposite. He doesnt “keep running”. He’s trying to troll. Meaning, he knows exactly what he’s doing with those teleports. Moving around in downed state pretty much seals the deal. That’s how teleport hacks look in PvP as well.
It’s been a long time since I saw it in WvW though. And it’s not on a thief or ranger, which is a shocker. Guess he wanted to be a little more classy.
A much simpler solution, I suggested years ago btw, but ofc anything to do with guilds falls on deaf ears around here, would be (as you may have guessed) to completely remove the representation system.
With the rep system out of the way, people can be in multiple guilds if they like, but can only be in one at any given time and only be seen in that guild they’re in for the day or w/ever. Any activities they do whilst in that guild, such as guild missions, would benefit only that guild, thus eliminating any conflict etc.
When they log in each day, they have their list of guilds and can choose which guild they wish to spend their day or however long with. What this would mean is, if a member is in a different guild to mine, I don’t see them on my guild roster, nor do they see my guild or have access to anything in my guild.
This would imo save us guild leaders a lot of management problems, animosity toward members not repping the guild and it would save members a lot of discomfort too, while having freedom of choice which guild they wish to be in without being forced into anything.
This meaningless change would imply that the person who joined the 100% rep 100% loyalty guild isnt 100% repping or 100% loyal.
So whats the point?
You’re suggesting a solution for a problem you have created by making a guild rule you want your guildmates to be able to break.
And the funniest thing is that this is in kittenty kitten sPvP.
In WvW, this kind of damage means 1 deadeye would instantly kill 20 people and blow out all the doors in SM just by looking down his scope and coughing quietly.
I liked deadeye because I was pretty decent with handling the rifle after just an hour of play, as opposed to d/p meta thief/dd that I just cant handle (even though I have no doubt the later will still be superior in WvW due to roflstomp evade and teleport exploits).
Only other elite I’ve tried so far is holosmith and even as a 90% scrapper main it was just… meh. Complete loss of small scale utility (no ranged stomp, no stab/bunkering for res) for what seems to me like added damage, another mechanic to keep track on and facerolling the keyboard for random effects on short cooldowns. I think that those that like meta warriors will like it – I dont like meta warriors and cant play them either.
Go into your demo character. Spend a transmutation charge. Check the count. Log back into one of your regular characters. Check the count.
It aint harder than that.
I havent tested it but from what I know, the beta characters is a completely different account (duplicate made some time ago). Nothing you do on it affect your primary account. So the answer is nothing is refunded because it’s not used.
- This give the Guild leader the freedom to choose, his Guild’s own fate.
Wait, what does this even mean?
Guilds already exist that has a 100% rep policy or get kicked. That may not stop people joining other guilds, but the effect is the same from that guilds point of view. Either you’re a full time part of it or you’re not.
Trying to control players and who they can talk to (which is basicly what this suggestion is compared to a simple 100% rep guild on the current system) is just plain wrong.
WASD must break kneel.
That is really what gets me every time, lol.
I’m a pretty poor thief in WvW. I have absolutely zero doubt a d/p/staff or bow gank daredevil is much stronger than a deadeye in pretty much any scenario but the rifle seem perfect for someone that’s teleport/stealth exploit challenged like me. I’ve never liked it. The rifle changes the style and I like it. I like it alot. The ranged style is great, the skills is ok and hell I even understand how to properly slip away with the rifle. Well, except I forget I’m in kneel mode and go “wtf why I am immobilized I have no condis I’m pressing all the buttons gaaaaaaaaah!” (swamped by 5 melees).
I was a little disappointed I can’t make a viable support build for WvW out of Holosmith because all of the traits are all about the forge and the forge has no group utility at all.
Hahaha saw that one coming a mile away… been shifting between my daredevil and scrapper lately and running 2-3 man with a guildies. Long story short on dd a large majority of the skirmishes we lost could have been won if I had been on scrapper simply because of stomping utility. We had the damage and we got lots of people down but damage isnt everything when you struggle to stomp them due to being outmanned, knocked back or under heavy aoe pressure etc. The gyro gives the engie a purpose in WvW.
An arrowcart buildsite that 4 skritt run up and build, then they do a little dance around it before it breaks
Come on Dawdler, you did better the other day …
tiny dancing Quaggans riding unicorns on rainbows come out of the bloody footprints [..] the tiny dancing Quaggans shoot tiny kittens in pink skirts that also vomit rainbows.
But that wasnt a finisher. There are no legendary finishers.
Yet…
Eh there’s just all kinds of flaws in that build IMO, the damage is totally kitten and seeing the rifle turret make me cringe.
I’ve generally use this in pvp: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vdAQJAqancTBtbhFpCGYBEqiF2iSsjqinA8DLxAgO4H+lH-TJhAQBSsMAAOBAc8BAQo9HAA
It’s not a full condi dps build but I find it a decent compromise. Skills will vary of course depending on what one face, this in particular is heavy on condi cleanse (without using the heal turret cause I hate it).
I’m sure someone else will post meta builds though. I cant be bothered with being that good on engie.
Its really quite simple.
If WvW is available in demo mode and you are playing on a demo character slot, nothing will be saved. Otherwise if elite become available on your normal characters, it should be like normal.
An arrowcart buildsite that 4 skritt run up and build, then they do a little dance around it before it breaks
You are meant to do missions with like 20+ people, ie run multiple pvp rounds at once. Getting 2 wins on say 10 matches doesnt seem so unlikey.
skirts get blown tightly around legs on updrafts.
Yeah… uh… skirts tightly around legs… thats what we all want to see from a skirt blowing in an updraft… uhum.
You already got 2 demo slots and a zone to test stuff in. I fully expect it to remain the same, except now maybe they enable the sPvP button (only demo players join that PvP instance).
WvW is wasted regardless. I dont think they will even enable it. After all, testing in PvE is the same right?
Or you could just cap it to 25 again.
Imagine if boons worked like condis.
100 stacks of might would be cool.
well it’s not condis killing me. I died to 50 players auto attacking me 1 and i take too much damage even while invulnerable to physical. I think it’s lag or something.
Same with guardians ultimate skill. I use it and i still get killed.
There are times when i pop elixir s and i straight die, no down or anything. Seems pretty buggy i think.
Its literally impossible for 50 people to auto attack you without giving you tons of condi as well. All those guards will cause burning and the other half of the zerg probably cause bleeding.
WvsW is about, mbe, 80 vs 80 vs 80. At such high numbers, the more you focus ur personnel in a specific spot the more you win.
You’re not wrong but you’re not right either becaused you missed an important part – the more you focus your personel at the relevant time.
This is strategy, as opposed to tactics. Ceasar got it right.
To simplify the point, if two groups of 80v80 are fighting for 30 minutes across the other side of the map, the third side running with an 80 man squad is a complete waste of resources. They could run as three 25 man groups and dominate the map in 30 minutes. Can each group beat an 80 man? Unlikely if not impossible. Thats why when the 80 man come to cap a tower, all three groups form up to equal the enemy.
Unfortunetly much too complicated to pull off in WvW most of the time as people cant think further than they can throw their commander, but hey sometimes it happens and when it does, its not just about zerging.
there is a stat intended to greatly improve your survivability against conditions [which skipped your armor] and it is vitality.
and actually it works just as you said – if you get only toughness you will be laughting at power builds, but die really quickly to conditions, and if you stack up on alot of vitality with no toughtness you will be abel to sane level of conditions for long enought to grab next heal/condi cleanse, kill the guy spamming at you… but die very fast to power build due to their higher spike against targets without enought toughness.
all working as intended….
as long as the amount of conditions being dished out stays within specific parameters – and this should be area to work on balancing them…..
This.
This assume no player can stack condi fast enough before the heal/cleanse is on cd again.
But guess what – certain condi classes can kill you 3 times over with continous, neverending application of 4+ condi types
And thats just a single necro.
I’m really hoping Deadeye isn’t going to be as deadly in 1v1 or small-scale scenarios as many of us are expecting. Because if they are, there is only one thing that will be able to keep them in check and that’s a Daredevil. It’s NEVER good for balance when the only way to fight fire is with fire.
Depends solely on the rifle damage and burst capability. Keep in mind that the thief already have a high damage ranged burst option – p/p.
It doesnt stop condi damage. Elixir S is kitten in WvW because it will get you killed unless its only power builds you fight.
Doesn’t cleanse existing condis.
If specced for it, it will cleanse one due t the fact its still an elixir.
Well chances are you have 6-8 condis on you so it doesnt really help now, does it?
It doesnt stop condi damage. Elixir S is kitten in WvW because it will get you killed unless its only power builds you fight.
Yes.
Necro OP, nerf thief.
scouts havoc groups and a main zerg are all important.
Also if you are scouting or defending – ask your commander for participation buff.
Scouts or defenders in the commander squad!? Such hogwash!!! Guards, necros and revs only, stack or be kicked. Spots left, need more guards.
condi is not as bad it was. honestly seeing a bit of a Glass resurgence since patch.
Thats all due to shroud changes. When you cant tank as good, just deal more condi damage instead. Somewhat better smallscale (easier to counter with power burst damage), worse large scale unless the necros are idiots.
Sorry, they implemented tier based PPT making it impossible for a comeback against strong servers instead.
Yeah if you play all classes just do what comes natural, probably the laziest combo you can imagine.
Rangers for example. They will probably come right at you and knock you back, followed by a burst. All you have to do is go “oh no I’ve fallen and I cant get up, halp!”, wait a second, pop reflect and watch them take half their own hp.
I guess no one has though about the amount of healing/support a firebrand can do. Firebrand/soulbeast/holosmith seems like a good 3man group. They have multiple pulls, reflects, quickness and a lot of melee boons. Theirs going to be a lot of testing once the next beta comes out.
Exactly everything you said would be the same if you replaced that with tempest/druid/scrapper, hence the issue.
Its important to separate two kinds of condi.
One is old roaming condi that is dominated by the need to actually beat certain OP power burst builds that are still OP as all kitten ( gank thieves mostly). Call that a crutch if you want, I call it a counter.
The other is ~90% of all necros using OP deathly chill. This is new and only aimed at overloading everyone with condi, not countering specific builds.
Guess where the issue lies.
Mobs seem kind of tanky to power damage idk.
I was running full glass FA Sc/Wh tempest and haven’t had a problem with mobs except the hyena bounty boss that kept teleporting to me and 2-shotting into downstate.
Its ironic but the ele I ran seemed to be better here as well. Its was the exact opposite with the same build in HIT so I expected a similar result. I was pleasantly surprised at the play of the ele in this event.
Well the mobs are kind of odd. My two demo character is a marauder dd (sort of raid specced) and an apothecary hybrid condi scrapper built for WvW (thats literally the opposite of a raid build, no bombs, grenades, mortar or anything lol). I tested both against the hydras and was quite surprised that while the dd has roflstomp damage and can 2 shot mobs… for some reason the mediocre condi build seem to match it vs the hydras. Plus I can facetank their attacks. Engaged 3 of them at once np in that valley, lol. Heads everywhere.
Got to remember to try a condi ele…
This morning I noticed that the size of the raptor depends on the size of your character. I created a really small Asura and ran around with the small raptor for ~30 minutes. I still had symptoms of motion sickness, but I felt better than yesterday, when I used the large raptor. And I also think it would reduce my symptoms if it was possible to zoom the camera out a bit more while riding on the raptor. Do you think this might help you, too?
As someone else mentioned earlier, I think this particular part of the problem is where your eyes focus – bigger raptor pulls your eyes down rather than at the center of the screen. This offset the movement of the rest of the world (ie screen) compared to what one is used to. Zooming out/scaling down the raptor by using Asura would help with that, yes.
Basicly, dat raptor behind is too big not to look at it.
1-2 deadeyes with 1-2 DDs, if the DDs don’t take you out you’ll get one shot at 1500 range as they all pick at you.
Also Dawdler, deadeye doesn’t give up stealth entirely and doesn’t really lose much for teleports if running shortbow as alt weapon. They will be terrible at melee but when you have the mobility that even core thief has it would take a thief or a high mobility warrior/Druid to catch you. Even then few classes can match the Z axis movement which is where deadeyes will be most irritating.
Duh, that was the entire point.
I am hopeful Holosmith will be good. Do not see many engineer in wvw. Alot of high damage skills.
Loss of stomp gyro = loss of all class purpose the engineer has in small scale. High damage skill isnt enough to replace it, thats like saying Deadeye would be great with some extra damage… but zero stealth and teleports. I am pretty certain it wont be and will still heavily rely on stealth and teleports in small scale.
(edited by Dawdler.8521)
In Lion’s Arch you can still find traces of the gw city. Amnoon looks like a totally different place, with loads of ancient looking piramyds which didn’t exist 250 years ago!! Sloppy
What makes them ancient looking?
Flamethrower scrapper with might on stab, stab on flamethrower and quickness when over a might threshold.
Hahahaha hohoho…
Click 1 once and you instantly die from retaliation.
ok this is new. virtual motion sickness is an thing? not trying to be mean here but i’m genuinely surprised here.
Lol new…
Doom gave me motion sickness. It still does. Dont even get me started on Wolfenstein.
Even later far more advanced games such as Half-Life 2 was completely intolerable for me. You know that sequence where you get off the train, go to the holding area and… well that’s how far I got before I had to stop and nearly vomit on the keyboard.
Some games make nearly zero impact, such as the thousands of hours spent in Battlefield 1942 and pretty much all associated games.
Most of the time it’s a severe disconnect between the player, camera movement and fov. Even third person games sometimes make me crunch up like a raisin due to something as simple as seeing the character move too fast for the walk cycle (ie the feet are disconnected with the ground). Luckily GW2 has above top tier animations.
Regarding the mounts I have only tried it for a short period and it was a little… bleh. I think it’s the swaying movement and faster speed that get me, when I focus on the mount rather than just the screen in general I do start to feel a little certain something. Not too awful though.
