What's going on with Outnumbered?

Nope, not a single mention of the outnumbered bug in todays patch.

Just yesterday we where outnumbered for like 40 minutes, but encountered a nasty all-condi guild group so I thought “hey I’ll try one of my other characters”. Result? Not outnumbered anymore. My guildmate was still outnumbered. Waited for tick… still not outnumbered. Waited another tick… still not outnumbered. My guildmate was still outnumbered, because of course. Logged in to the original character instead, hoping maybe that fix it. Nope. Two ticks later, not outnumbered. My guildmate was – you guessed it – outnumbered. In a little 10 man group that randomly formed to take a tower I checked everyone. Like half of them was outnumbered, lol.

Fix. Your. kitten. Anet.

Either that or revert the kitten change because this isnt worth it. Or tell us “oh sorry, we just didnt add it to the patch notes but it’s been fixed”. Please.

Deathly chill just needs a nerf back to where it was then necros will be fine. Heck I would support a buff to deathly chill that isn’t just a straight dps buff.

No it’s far more simple than that.

Deathly chill needs to be balanced for PvP in WvW.

It’s just 1 stack in sPvP yet 3 stacks in WvW which completely kitten up balance.

For people saying “huehue ranged counter them”, 1v1 isnt the issue. People can kite, people can fight and at the very least come close to killing necros. Sure some foes will snap like twigs but anti-condi builds can kill them. The issue is that their bleed damage become exponentially insane the more necros you throw into the mix. To equal the bleeding damage 20 zerg necros have today, you needed 60 necros prepatch. No zerg had that. Well unless maybe it was a necro raid but even then not everyone would run cancer build.

The entire point of the guild leader is that there is only supposed to be one. You cant have an omnipotent administrator without giving full permissions to that rank.

So just dont promote anyone to leader, make stronger officer ranks.

You do not have to nor should you expect to cleanse all of the conditions coming your way. If you could do this, a Condition build would be useless.

Except that healing bunkers can survive 1v1 against power almost infinitely, thanks to CC and heals. But for some reason, we cannot have same toolkit against condi, because “a Condition build would be useless”, huh?

You already have the same “toolkit” against condi. The problem is that some certain classes cough trailblazer reapers coughhack just go so far and beyond “normal” condi damage and application its absolutely rediculous.

I am quite disapointed that we never got another such note after year 1.

I am mostly curious what amount of cute fluffy dolyaks we are up to now. Year 1 we where at 23 million slaughtered. By now I am guessing we have surpassed the number of buffalo killed in the Americas by settlers and that took them the better part of a century.

Thats the idea.

Player rewards are loosely linked to your server performance. Pips in this case being higher = faster rewards. Other than thats you get stuff every tick based on your performance/xp gains.

If server performance start having a major impact on player rewards, every pug will transfer to the winning servers (as opposed to just guilds bandwagoning today).

The very core of WvW is that things are supposed to be fairly equal, not a win everything or get nothing situation. Thats bad because you have no control over the thousands of players on your server.

Human engineers are like very well educated humans with skills in metallurgy, mechanics, mathematics and more so they can go about making stuff like advanced turrets, intricate flamethrowers or tiny little flying machines beyond anything humans normally can build.

Asuran “engineers” are like cutesy little dumb persons, building turrets by smashing crap together with a wrench, making silly inneffective things they call weapons and flying toys a 1 year old proginy can build in their sleep.

Just face it, you wouldnt know how to calibrate the aetheromagnetic pulse field with the optimagnifying rectifier crystal to make an Asuran turret even if you got your entire krewe to do a visual presentation of the schematics.

@op, I guess it works that way to make the “stealth reveal” mastery desirable.

Revealed doesnt do anything at all if the target isnt stealthed and if someone is revealed from stealth they just stealth again the next second.

Please read this, then use a thief/ranger/mesmer “stealth” build for yourself. Revealed, if used correctly, can REALLY ruin someone’s day.

Hahahaha… oh boy that only confirm its broken, because the timings doesnt match. No wonder they pretty much instantly stealth again. I play engineer and when I reveal someone for 6 seconds (according to the skill) apparently they only get revealed for a lousy 3 seconds. If you count 1-2s reaction time (a good thief will already be at 2000 range by this point) that pretty much means smoke+leap and they are gone again the next second.

Reveal only ruins the day of morons that drop shadow refuge in the middle of battle and go “hurrrdurrr I’ll just stand in the center and go get a cup of coffee, no one can see me!!!!”.

If it doesnt work in PvE I’m pretty sure its the same kind of stealth because it doesnt work in WvW either.

If you want to delete a character, dump account bound in the bank, salvage everything you can and throw away the rest. If you’re not careful you will end up with soulbound crap in the bank you cant get rid of. Name is irrelevant, its not the same character.

Without firearms the damage output of pistols is next to pointless and it scales very, very poorly with the power in that amulet. Might as well go with hammer and add tankiness, especially since its sPvP and you already got backup ranged from skills. Without any sort of speed its not like you’re gonna be able to run around hunting caps or players anyway.

To summarize:
-Offensive siege is too plentiful.
-Shield interactions are unintuitive.
-Defensive options are limited.

Defensive options arent limited. Defensive options are already faaaaaaaaaar too strong, to the point where a lousy tower requires a 50 man zerg to dump a dozen catas to get in fast before its completely impossible due to manned defensive siege.

This issue isnt an offensive one. Its a defensive one forcing massive zerging and using overwhelming force over actually besieging objectives or using smaller groups. HoT brought this to extremes.

I’d be perfectly fine with only being able to build like 2 catas max near a tower… if the tower had half the wall hp, could only build 1 shield gen and maybe 2 ACs.

But hey its not like WvW is about taking objectives or players fighting players inside these objectives, right?

Nah, its all about zergs dumping siege and avoiding fights. We clearly need more and bigger zergs. Lets make defenses better so we get it. Tripling tower hp should do the trick, right? Also double AC damage. Thats worked great so far.

This comes down to a single bloody class mechanic we have complained about over and over again but that Anet utterly refuse to kittening fix unless they’ve sneakily done it in the last couple of patches and I missed it.

Deathly kittening chill

Fighting zergs with 15 condi necros? Prepatch that was like fighting… well, a zerg with 15 condi necros. Postpatch, its like fighting a zerg with 30+ condi necros. Complete. kittening. Condi. Overload.

All other condi classes are either gimmicky or have a few types of condis thats far more easily cleansed for zergs.

In the meantime, the engie pull gets blocked by pebbles, blades of grass, particle effects, that little red shivering line on AoE circles and quite possibly minute shifts in the earths magnetic field.

I’d rather have a trait that change the exclusivly condi pistol to power pistol – 1200 range, penetration instead of AoE explosion and bleeding, 100% better base power damage, offhand pistol 4 changed to a dual shot for high damage at 600 range or something.

At least then we can look at the rifle and laugh and cry at the same time.

WvW isnt enjoyable anymore.

The Tarnished Coast is supposed to be a “full” server right now, but we are so short on people playin wvw, it’s just miserable. I know that we are not suppose to talk about specific matches, but the other 2 servers just will not attack each others borderlands, but they keep coming to tcbl. If we continue to be locked in as a “full” server, there might be no one playing wvw for us in a few weeks

Then it wont be full anymore. Simple logic.

The real question is, as a full server, are you really lacking players… or are you lacking commanders?

Because in my experience many servers have the players, its just that they are all sheeple in spawn until their glorious allmighty commander comes online. Its roaming and large scale, little in between.

Oh you’re definetly gonna love scrapper in that build, lol…

Zero ranged means you’re utterly useless in zerging and far too easily kited when roaming/small scaling against any decent ranged build. Sure some targets you’ll be a good fit against (basicly, anything that cant evade well from melee range) but with the vast majority of melee heavy builds either being immortal warriors, hit-and-run thieves or roflstomp look-mom-I-can-stack-40-bleeds condi necros you’re in for a fun time.

I would swap that B for the elixir gun and get some ranged when one cant go in close, plus better facetanking with super elixir, alternativly toolkit to get the pull and block.

I started at southeast spawn on DBL. Spawn tower was ours, camp was not. I flipped the two nearby sentries while I waited for the RI to finish on the camp, then I flipped the camp. I proceed to flip all three Air Shrines. Someone else on my team had already flipped northeast camp and the two nearby sentries. I went to flip the east Earth Shrine. After killing all of the guards, I got attacked by two defenders. I managed to down one of them, but not get the kill before I died myself. I was already in a state of decay when I respawned. I had no nearby objectives to flip, so I lost more than a tier by the time I could get to something to stop the decay. Explain to me how I was not participating.

You did not participate for at least more than 10 minutes. In 10 minutes you can go from one corner of that map and back. The situation you expose is unrealistic.

The actual timers help you realise that playing a running simulator does not help your server and actually you are damaging it as you don’t contribute but you are occupying one spot in a very limited amount of those. You constantly dying you are not helping. You trying hard to kill and fail dying in the process, you do not helping your server but the enemy’s.

I roam a lot and sometimes i go with the zerg if there are big battles going around. Either case i’m always out from the squad and i play solo most of the time. I don’t have any problem with the timer. Ofc i’m not a try hard and i don’t try to solo 1v3 or i run around DBL just because the map is beautiful (because as much as inconvenient for solo roamers i have to admit the map is very pretty ).

Sometimes the timer catch up if i’m Afking in a tower but then i can recover the participation easily.

Again this decay timer although rough, is the best thing ever happened to WvW.

So what you are basicly saying is that if you arent winning you’re not playing WvW and that’s the best change ever to WvW. Got it. Everyone that looses is a sucker that doesnt deserve participation or to play WvW, be it fighting a duel for 5 minutes or fighting 1v10 gank thieves outside spawn and dying instantly half a dozen times. Nothing is participation unless you win.

Here’s an idea – freeze decay while in combat with another player and start it again a minute after combat ended.

There I just made the best change to WvW 1000x better and it only took me a second to think of it. I must be the kittening Einstein of game design.

For PvP, everything thief related balances out by the fact you need to defend and hold points. Thieves are terrible at it. When it comes to their strenght in mobility, power or condi becomes irrelevant.

Now if only this balance existed in WvW, sigh…

People may be at a disadvantage, red servers not so much.

According to MOS EU, 2 of 5 tiers are leading while the other 3 are 2nd place. None have lowest score.

In MOS NA, 2 of 4 tiers are leading while 1 is 2nd place and 1 is 3rd place.

So basicly out of 9 tiers and 27 servers, currently only one red server is 3rd place.

Thats a disadvantage alright. For blue and green servers.

Best change to WvW kitten that.

Apparently when you fight like below 1vX multiple times trying to defend kitten you’re not kittening participating in WvW. I started at mid T4 when I joined the border because the other border was dull fighting 1v3+ at every turn.

After that I logged because guess kittening what, going to defend the kittening camp, 5 people, going out of spawn, 5 people, by the time I took a kitten ruin just to try to stop that kittening decay I was T1.

I play all game modes, I played extensively on every wvw tournament. I play only for rewards, I have 7K hours in gw2 and 8K hours in gw1. I’ve played over 10 mmos since 2001 and I’ve been playing games for 25 years, that sum it up for u guys?

If you only play for reward, I can’t take your criticism seriously. Why should I even care since you obviously do not care about the game mode? This game mode is not for you or playing it would be the reward in itself.

I’ve always said in the past that the relatively poor reward was what protected WvW from EoTM players and farmers. Now, the carrot is too shiny and here we are…

That’s like saying everyone who works a job IRL does it for the reward of doing the job and not getting paid.

Uh…. It is a game, not a job you need to pay your bills. If you can’t make the difference, there is your problem.

Could of fooled me, since u need to grind 20-30 hrs per week to hit ticket cap with low rank and if u play casually your looking at 1-4 years before your rank effects your pip gain in any meaningful manner.

At rank 2000 you are looking at 20-30h per week. At low rank its more like 60-80h+.

Just a minor nitpick.

Unfortunetly anything older than the GTX10xx mobile series is cheap cut down models that doesnt come anywhere close to their desktop counterpart. Same thing with these i7 ultra low power chips, they’re just a stripped desktop i3 with HT enabled (ie 2c/4t, not 4c/8t like desktop i7 or higher end laptop i7)

It shouldnt perform terrible since it do have discrete graphics (try playing WvW on a Surface 2 Pro and you’ll experience terrible) but I wouldnt expect any miracles. GW2 should be ok-ish.

Anet could have done that a long, long, loooooooooooooong time ago.

They chose not to.

It’s actually not that complicated. Add 6 or so more towers covering the keeps within treb distance, 2 for each side. Change the camps to supply normal dollys, move them away from the central area (and add more camps). Change the central area to be an SM type fortress. Each of the 3 ring towers should be within treb distance to the castle and one of the towers covering the two closest keeps (ie western tower would be able to treb castle and towers north and south of it, southern tower would be able to treb castle and towers west and east of it, etc).

And there you go. A map that maybe could be used for normal WvW, following basic WvW objective and supply design. It could replace any border or EB.

To do this they would need to nerf the crap out of boosters or players would need to have multiple boosters up whenever they’re in WvW to get decent reward rates.

Isnt multiple boosters the point?

First you introduce a participation system that annoys players and judge whether it annoys them just the right amount.

Secondly, you nerf the above so it annoys them even more.

Thirdly, you apologize to the community for the horrors, it was a lapse in judgement and will be fixed ASAP.

Forthly, out of sheer goodness and listening to all the issues the community have, you maintain the nerfed system but introduce participation booster only available in the gemstore so that the community can applaud how kind you are.

In sPvP its hard to CC someone to death – you have nowhere near the damage the same dps/cc build would have in WvW. Most will also build tanky-ish due to stat combos.

So what class or combo are you actually talking about?

I’ve found interesting parallels between the sombra or mei who whine about comps when we have 3 dps already to the people in gw2 who are the first to bad mouth their team when their gameplay ain’t any better.

Now imagine if each overwatch character had 10 different stat sets ranging from dps, bunker, tank, healer and combinations of each… then on top of that, everyone had different builds that made them more dps, tank or healer. And then on top of that you gave everyone a free selection of different weapons and combat skill.

Then when joining a match none of this is shown to other players so you have to guess the composition.

Overwatch would be awesome, right? Lol.

Structured PvP is a lie.

The outnumbered bug needed to be fixed yesterday. The participation system has already ruined the free form feeling of WvW – breaking outnumbered on top makes it infuriating.

Anet should give everyone 5 free chests this week as compensation. Well, assuming they fix it tomorrow. Come friday we are probably looking at 2-3 full tiers some people will have lost.

I was just on a border where we where clearly outnumbered and I ran there for about an hour. 5-10 on border vs 2 zergs and yellow swords, 50+ enemies. Not much roamers because we had nothing other than spawn camp and tower at the best of times.

But guess what: One guy had outnumbered the whole time. The rest didnt. I asked if he got outnumbered pips and yes indeed he got them. No one else on the border got them.

Anet fix your kitten.

As far as I gather multiple MMOs have been ddosed continously for a month now, but as specific developers start to block it, the attacks have shifted to ISPs on a higher level, which probably make it impact even more stuff. I have no idea why GW2 would be a target other than the obvious choice, NCSoft. Maybe someone didnt get that perma thing from their $1000 worth of keys, I dont know.
