The engine did that, once. To much clutter in front (ie like 20 players), np just dont render the rest. Ah, those where the days. Not even minis then. Or armor for that matter since the players you could see had probably been reduced to default anyway,

As someone playing only Asuran characters, having mounts is like playing Charr every now and then.

These kinds of comments just make me laugh every time. By this logic, I would make your GW2 lag (no matter where you are in the world) by me watching Netflix (no matter where I am in the world). The internet is a little more robust than this. VOIP and game servers would be independant systems, just like having our server community TS/discord doesnt lag everyone in WvW. That Anet is hosting it would make no difference.
That said I find it totally pointless. Anet provides the platform for WvW, true, but its us that make WvW what it is. We dedicate ourselves to it and build communities around it and ultimately, play it like we want to play it. Its when Anet start to dictate too much how you are supposed to play it that it all fall apart. Built in VOIP would be Anet telling us VOIP is mandatory, not us making that choice and molding WvW to what we like.

For my family, it’s going to be ultimate package for everyone. We can live without the new armor skin, spearmarshals presence. Seems like they put little work into a existing armor skin and renamed it. Not impressed with that. And the permanent pass is still a question mark. However the $50 worth of gems in the ultimate makes it worth it. If their selling POF for $30, then technically I’m not paying for the character slot, identity kit, lame armor skin, or the permanent pass. Anet is just throwing those in for free. So since I’ve been wanting another character slot for Christmas, this is a more cost effective way to get what I’ve been wanting to do anyway. So Christmas for my family is coming very early this year. Oh well, nobody here will mind.
Of course, Anet are devious as always. Only the €30 and €80 are worth buying for what they give and they know we all succumb to the latter.

Last I checked GW2 now automatically use the 64bit exe if you are on a 64bit system.
So the answer is forget about 32bit (who doesnt run 64bit today?!).
If deathly chill isnt nerfed and dire/trailblazer stats isnt changed it’s not a balance patch. It’s the single most OP condi trait and people are abusing the most bunker/max condi damage armor stats in the game with condi builds.
Yet nothing of this is mentioned.

yeah but condi necro uses +20% duration food which is getting nuked, and condi necro has a broad spread of condis. they’re seriously hurt by this change :x
You do realize that builds can already exceed 100% duration? While it might hurt your maximised dps against a stationary raid boss, a loss of ~10% duration from food mean very little in WvW.

I think part of that is because the look and movement is near impossible to accurately recreate and the knowledge it isnt going to break the fourth wall and come near me…

I know I am, mostly because I am not really seeing anything unique thats actually usefull about it. I mean the scrapper at least got the stomp gyro making it the smallscale stomper under pressure in WvW. The holosmith got… AoE for denying a conquest cap? I suppose? I dont know. There is nothing about it that stuck out to me.
Plus, the sword automaticly only make the shield or offhand pistol usable. One plain sucks and the other is condi only, unless the sword change their skills. Havent checled that.
Wouldnt suprise me the slightest if this is pre-order + 6 months down the line… then they make a single GW2+HoT+PoF pack for normal full cost.
A spider you have to kill is different to a spider that is your comrade. A Peppa Pig episode that featured a friendly spider has been banned in Australia. They didn’t want to have their kids play with spiders and be careless, since many spiders over there can kill you. Sure, this is not the same target audience (average MMO player is about 30 I think), just remembered that killing spiders is fine. So even if we have many spiders in the game already, they are not the same as a spider pet.
I despise spiders, but wouldn’t mind having one as pet in a game. What I don’t like is being forced to use specific things. As far as understood the presentation, we have to hop around with a bunny to get to places. This bunny thing feels out of place, it’s a gimmick, I wouldn’t ride it. It’s Elonia’s Segway.
Still makes no sense as by that logic, you would encourage kids to pet raptors. And I dont know about you, but I am not sure enemy raptors and pet raptors will be very different.

While I don’t share the sentiment that adding new maps is a bad thing, I do agree that older content needs to be made soloable. This game can become a nightmare for new and returning players. Especially HoT which is almost entirely group-centric. Once HoT is no longer the newest content it will be almost impossible to do anything in it.
Which would be the point of dailies. At least one for each HoT map event will probably bring enough players together to do other stuff (such as hero points). As long as they shuffle PoF dailies together with one HoT map I doubt it will be much of an issue.
But for real I am arachnophobic. I have had a long-standing fear of spiders since I was a child. I will involuntarily freeze in place at the sight of one any larger than a dime. I check my clothes, shoes and bedclothes with a flashlight before I put them on/get into them. Every time.
That said, I have no problem with spiders in games or used as mounts. Bring ’em on

The thing is, GW2 doesnt have an endgame. We know that and raised concerns looooooong ago. Thats a problem if you want to focus the population. They made a decent solution to that – dailies bringing people to specific maps – but unfortunetly they have been moving away from global dailies in favor of local dailies independant from each other, which is bad. Theres only so many dailies people will bother with. I hope the new maps are part of the global world. If they have their own dailies… well kitten.

Uuuuuh… not only does OP describe WvW, they also added stronghold in sPvP. Everyone still play conquest because people prefer to exploit bunker builds and fighting like sumo wrestlers on a 5m wide circle.
I fail to see how you can do 0 damage. Unless all you are fighting is warriors.
Either way heavy elixir condi is probably the only vanilla build that can decently compete in WvW. Using grenade kit or bomb kit in WvW would be hilarious. I dont think I’ve seen anyone use that for at least 4 years.
Exotic vs ascended is 10% extra stat. A single dodge at the right time as opposed to a dodge at the wrong time nullify that by a factor of 5.

Too bad the guard will probably have you go to DR for a 15 minute cutscene, to Rata Sum to kill maybe 3 mobs and a boss (which autoattack you for 500 damage every 5s), then to Orr for another 15 minute cutscene, then maybe… just maybe… you’re allowed to go through after the 5 minute dialogue with that guard.
Where he tells you that you have to go to a portal in DR to reach the Crystal Desert. Because of course.

Very much doubt it.
Was with a guildie this morning and he complained that the timers where ~30s out of sync… So we checked it out. Had him look at the south camp timer and while I saw it was 2:15, his reply was… 2:45.
So still wacky. Not exactly lag since there was literally no one there (when I joined the border, his outmanned went away so presumably I added 100% to friendly force numbers, lol). I assume this is a matter of playing a while and the client goes out of sync with repeated caps/recaps.
Anyway…. if it is about toughness, how in the world do I have the most toughness out of every single player in the game. I use Soldier’s stats for my Herald. It’s the reason why I can outlive everyone’s precious Berserkers against any enemy, but that doesn’t mean I want to be a tank. I’m there to give boons and keep everyone else alive, not be a tank. Why can’t there be a more clear aggro system. It shouldn’t be determined by 8 or more vague concepts simultaneously. If there’s no rigid party roles, why am I forced to be a tank without any actual aggro control.
Because that’s how freaking aggro control works.
Mobs generally target the player with the highest armor, ie the tank. Soldiers is one of the tankier gears that’s in the game that still provide power (if you want to hit like a wet noodle, go nomads and enjoy taking a minute to kill a random mob). If you dont want to tank, dont equip tanky gear. Simple as that.

We have had not one but two solutions to this in in WvW. First, the guards did instakill everyone coming near spawn. That was removed however (dont ask us why, no one knows, same thing with Siegerazer). Then, a system that simply teleport enemies out of spawn was added. And thats on top of players being invoulnerable.
So yeah. We have the solution in WvW, much like how sPvP have the class balance changes WvW desperately needs.
Guess the WvW and sPvP team dont talk which each other.
Or that the sPvP team cant even find the WvW team.

I lost 25-30 high-value tactivators (watchtowers, presence, EWP, iron guards, etc) as a result of this bug and was reimbursed with 5 Improvement and Tactic Packs. Is this a joke? Seriously…pathetic.

It took me like 2 months to get around to doing all the stuff – completing 100% PvE being the most annoying part (and I’m not talking exploration).
Should calm down again in a week when all the have-to-have-it-instantly buyers are done. I was thinking on the legendary too but then I realized I am both poor and lazy.
Simply put, the GW2 engine doesnt multithread well (bogged down by its main thread) and the amount of processing power needed to display characters and their gear increase exponentially.
You can easily check this by lowering the character models and numbers. On a high end rig, its pretty much the only settings that impact performance. Toss the effect caused by all these characters into the mix and well…
Note that this is an entirely different issue from skill lag when the serverside skill queue chokes (when 50v50v50 zergs clash in pvp). Pve groups rarely encounter this though, tthey usually spread out more and use way less boon/condi application to slog down the server.

When I was running earlier it did seem more reliable. At least when we we where outnumbered everyone around me seemed to be outnumbered too, plus it hit on the next tick after I joined a guildies border. Well except loosing it every 10m due to DC.
Omg we have a new weapon type?! How do you hold leg swords? With your toes? Or are they like peglegs, attached to the knee? What happens if its a large leg sword, wouldnt you walk kind of wonky?
