Only a WvW-players obituary contains: His last words was “wwww111111111166666 sh** laag”

All that’s needed to nerf the zerg is remove the 5 target aoe limitation in WvW.
It would not be a matter of removing AoE limit, AoE is already overpowered compared to single-target or 3-chain skills.
It would be a matter of completely rebalancing AoE, such that AoE works good vs many but is completely useless vs single targets. But I guess many AoE classes would cry loud, if this happens.
Anyhow, ANet already said that the server NEED the AoE-limit for performance reasons! I guess without AoE-limit a 20vs20 would produce more skill-laag than a 100vs100 now
“WvW, a place for LARGE scale battle”
Continue fighting the skill-laags should be sufficient!
The main problem of large scale battle is still that 100 times skill 1 is better than 70 times skill 1 and other skills rarely work.
The march of the Zombies has been stopped.
New reinforcements equipped with and well trained on the new powerful antizombie-cards (ACs) have secured Mankind’s survival and forced the zombie army back to their graveyards.
But the graveyards of the battlefields are more filled than ever, they are not beaten, time to prepare for the next wave.

Yeah looks like a hardware crash or a hacker attack.
Hope they didn’t stole all account infos.
Holidays in Germany
Only one small region (Sachsen-Anhalt, 2.3 Mio. people) had school-holidays this week.
Everyone will have free next Monday. Two large regions (Bavaria 12.6 mio and
Baden-Württemberg 10.8mio) will have school-holidays whole next week.
This week 3% of Germany had holiday, 30% of Germany will have holiday the whole next week
Edit:
Xispeo & Rake, did you noticed that it writes 10.05./21.05 (Berlin) whereas it writes 21.05. – 31.05. (Bavaria)? First means ON 10.05 AND ON 21.05, whereas the second means FROM 21.05. TILL 31.05. Look at the graphical display on the bottom of http://www.schulferien.org/Schulferien_nach_Ferien/Pfingstferien/pfingstferien.html
to see that next week 10 times as many germans will have holiday than had this week

You need to refresh a little. There is no more Nightcapping from Vizu. Your Multimap Raid is twice than ours.
And now, we rarelly have queues, even on EB
Yeah, looks like Vizu gave up fighting Elona this match and is preparing a revenge for next week
The Vizu-hordes only devastating Deso now
Somehow it looks like the Vizu night-crew moved to Jade. You need reinforcements from T2?
I never though that I would say that: Thank you, SFR for waking up right in time
(edited by Dayra.7405)
Commanders that look at others to search for a fault are a mess in any case (be it TS or twink or …).
I do not mean that every failure is caused by the commander, but a commander that blame other for a failure are bad for the morale. Be positive! (Next time we wipe them, we only have to do more of ….)
(edited by Dayra.7405)
yeah, we get double teamed at the moment.
That’s a pity and I always feared it happens.
In fact I don’t really think it’s double teaming against you, this is a match Elona vs Vizu with Deso spectating the match, so I guess it’s more a race between Vizu and Elona to grab your under-garrisoned possessions before the opponent does.
I think it speaks for fairness and discipline of both Vizu and Elona, that they managed to mostly avoid this for 4 days!
Let me come back to why “I feared that this happens”: I think Elona is winning the current match because it is a 1 vs 1 with spectators and not a 1 vs 1 vs 1.
This is good for Elona as it allows Elona to counter Vizu’s night advantage with Elona’s day advantage.
In a normal 1 vs 1 vs 1 like we had it February, this balance is less given.
Vizu still has night-advantage as all others sleeping, but Elona has a reduced day advantage as Deso (or any other third) is awake as well, i.e. while Vizu is capping anything in the night unopposed, the other two have to fight each other instead of being able to cap everything back.
So I feared that this happens because it may let Deso drop out of T1, replacing Deso maybe with someone Elona has to fight during the day, destroying the balance that currently favours Elona.
(edited by Dayra.7405)
Guess why.
Vizu put fear in their hearts?
Nope. Just skill lag and their attitude to hide and seek game.
Fighting Vizu is like eating oysters.
You have to open the shell. After you did the inside is delicious!

This bug we had yesterday on Elona borderlands, only a few Elona on map but already a large Vizu zerg
Queue Priority tickets for persons and or guilds.
A: Likely after each patch where they changed the the capabilities of a mastery:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/Update-on-Arrow-Carts-in-WvW
… finally happened on Tuesday the 14. Mai
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/Update-on-Arrow-Carts-in-WvW
PS: Btw. Friday was 5/10, sunday was 5/12
Will Golems have reduced damage by arrow carts (seen as siege weapon) or not (seen as player in special armor)?
I would see them as player in special armor, because they could move out and you cannot harm the user of it without destroying it.
Not sure if serious, everytime Bay or Hills is attacked by Desolation for example you call your whole zerg on that BL (usually 50+) and make about 10 arrow carts. Not even Viz sit in keeps with 50+ blob’s using AC’s.
Looks like I’m not the only who noticed the overusage of AC. I wonder how they’ll do if AC gets nerfed
Oh that’s easy, if e.g. the damage is halved, you build 20 ACs instead of 10 for your 50+ people. Or increase the % of SACs should you run short on people to use them
.
Don’t forgot, we got trained 10 weeks by THE AC specialists of GW2, and most of the time was pre-AC-boost-patch.

I don’t see any conflict between a score weight (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/PPT-Cap-Night-Capping-solution/2020713) and ANet’s official response. This denies nothing to anyone. It does not underrate anyone (opposing to the current system), it only reduces the (currently absolutely overrated) influence of the time in which nearly no one is playing to the overall score.
It not even hinders you to cap everything and present the opponent the map in your color when he comes back to the battlefield.
Anets solution is to recruit more guilds for your off peak hours.
Better start recruiting.
Better a bit less “successful”, than having server-hoppers on board
Desolation is waiting to enjoy for over 2 months already, nothing fun.
is likely your next opportunity. And, hm, if I look at
http://mos.millenium.org/servers/view/15/#history
is only 1 month ago that Deso burned out.
Week 14 was the crash of SFR and week 15 yours.

When Desu drops to T2, do you think Kodash might overtake to T1? They might gain a bit too much from Desu and SfR point bleed.
Jade Sea will come T1
I guess with the reanimation of SFR in T2 this topic is resolved: No one will switch between T1 and T2 for a while.
Let’s enjoy our current setup until ANet fixes the rating-system.
how does 1 get exotic gear?
If you play mostly WvW, getting it via Karma (42k Karma per piece of Armor/Jewelery) in Orr or via Honor Badges (~250 badges only or ~250 badges+1 gold per Armor/Weapons) in the citadel of your Homelands are your best options.
While you are upgraded in WvW make sure you wear rare equipment as close to your real level as possible, any lower level equipment will be badly punished by the upgrade system, e.g. a lvl 35 in 35 rare will be stronger than a lvl 45 in lvl 35 gear.
I don’t play ranger in WvW anymore (Necro is my favored), but I was told/noticed that condition ranger with short bows are the most dangerous rangers for small-scale fights.
Longbow + axe/horn is quite good if you run with the zerg.
An important point for any one in WvW: Listen to your Worlds Zerg-Radio (usually a teamspeak server announced in the chat)! Independently of bying in the zerg or not, it provides you with valuable information about: what your “friends” want to achieve atm and where enemies are spotted and what they are doing.
(edited by Dayra.7405)
1. Get people to fill your coverage gaps. It works – look at Blackgate or SoR in NA T1.
3 of 51 server made it, cool. Where are the players for the other servers found?
2. Quit sleeping. Sleep is for the weak anyway.
Yeah exactly this is leading to PvD in EU, some sleep some play at night. But as they don’t do it on all nights, they usually miss each other and do PvD instead of PvP. But a game that does promote PvP instead of PvD is funnier.
Both solutions are ones that anyone can implement, no ANet involvement required.
This is the big advantage of your solution over mine. And for the weak there is a third solution: switch to a game that is already designed to let you sleep at night.
Anyhow the OP-proposal is to complicated a simple:
New Accumulated score =
Old Accumulated score +
(current ticker * total of players in this match)
instead of the current
New Accumulated score =
Old Accumulated score + current ticker
would do already better and be more fair (as argued by me above).
Just no, my time is worth as much as an Americans
Yes, but it should also not worth more
But as we all know now: guilds zergs are very difficult to play in prime-time on a server with long queues. We just saw: relying or even insisting on guilds zergs in prime-time breaks a server apart.
EB on Elona has much more queue than any BL, that’s why you meet guild-raids of Elona on BLs and nearly never in prime-time (which is 11am till 11pm on weekends) on EB. Vizu with likely more queues than Elona has the same problem.
(edited by Dayra.7405)
Wait you mean to say because i’m australian i should have to contribute less to WvW then someone who lives in the US?
No, I said that currently in a most american match you are much more important for your server than any american on you server. The truth of this you can see in any recruitment thread: “We would love to get more EU or Occeanic, hm, if you are from a US timezone we cannot hinder you joining us, but you better stay away we have long NA-prime-time queues”
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/TC-needs-Oceanic-Asian-EU-Guilds-Players is the last one I found.
And I only proposed to make it more even, not to make it uneven in the other direction.
(edited by Dayra.7405)
It’s allways fair when you win, and unfair when you loose.
That’s why I avoided to use the term “fair” and only said I find PvP more interesting than PvD and that it would be nice, if ANet would make the interesting things rewarding and not the boring ones decisive
Am achievement for playing 1’500’000 hours WvW would be in line with the other WvW Achievements
Everyone sides score is multiplied equaliy by 630 on every ticker as there are 630 people in WvW. (but not by 1200 (100 per map and side), which I guess is the maximum capacity of a WvW match)
Any limitations to what can be earned during a period of time (North American, Asian or European) would affect the gameplay of people playing in that period of time and thus change the experience which ANet are strongly against.
Developers have said in the past quite clearly they will never make a change to the way the scoring works as WvW is meant to be a 24/7 event.
Sorry to burst any bubbles you had.
Of course it’s up to ANet to choose between making 70 people happier than 1200 people or vice versa. Given their current history of WvW changes, I agree it’s more likely that they continue to make 70 happy
That just sounds like a balancing and QQ nightmare.
I do not see the balancing aspect of summing up the total number of players of all servers.
A time where 300:0:0 people are fighting is scored equally (300 in total) to a time where 100:100:100 (also 300 in total) are fighting.
I did NOT argued that a 10:60 is unfair and should not score points.
I argued that a time where there are 1200 are fighting (100 per map and world, i,e,. all maps full) should be more valuable in scoring than a time where only 70 or even 0 are fighting in a match.
If 1200 are fighting for 695 points thats around 0.5 points score per player, if 70 are fighting for 695 pts this is 10 points score per player, i.e. an off-time player scores around 20 times as many points as an prime-time player.
I only played in the morning around 10am, there we meet an (atleast) equal size Vizu-zerg. I guess this did not changed over the day, did it?
But anyway, do we play for honor or do we play for points, I though Vizu as well as Elona think we are playing for points and play accordingly.
I also think that PvD is less interesting than PvP, therefore I take any opportunity in the forum to propose to weight the score-ticker by the amount of players currently playing. But as long as ANet doesn’t do anything about that we have to get the best out of the fact that PvD is much more lucrative than PvP to win a match.

I think somewhere in https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/Arrowcarts-merged Devon said, they like the new damage of ACs on human, but they do not like that ACs are used to destroy siege.
So I expect the AC of the next build to do (nearly) same damage to humans, but much less (none) to other siege.
And the next build will come tomorrow, if I understood the May 14 on
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/may-14-2013/

corretly.

Glicko-2 – there should be a quite old thread where a dev explains it somewhere in the 312 pages of the WvW sub forum – is used to “translate” the previous rating and the final match-score into a new rating.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/How-do-you-play-glicko
Is the last thread where Glicko is discussed by players.
With only Viz being active at 4:00 the score is something like
Viz 500+: Elona 150-: Deso 45- i.e. 350 more for Viz per tick than for Elona
With Viz and Jade active at 4:00 the score is likely something like
Viz 350: Jade 245 : Elona 100 i.e. 250 more for Viz per tick than for Elona
We would have less, but more decisive is: Vizu would have less night-advantage over us. (Under the assumption of no inter-server coordination of course.)

Only a WvW-player wants to have an umbrella before passing a city-gate.
Only a WvW-player rarely misses an umbrella while on open-field.
Only WvW-player die in the rain.
Only WvW-player die to let it rain.
(edited by Dayra.7405)
Well im sure gem sales are up to buy said carts :P
Even better, didn’t you saw the announcement of the new gem-shop item: arrow protection umbrella?
PS: Kidding, I am totally aware that ANet does a good job putting no pay to win items into the gem-shop,
Vizunah is waiting you in T1
JS have nothing to do in D1, but unfortunately many want try how fun T1 is .. :/
They could know, they had us for 10 weeks, and as bonus to us, they get Vizu which is same power as Elona during the day plus a night-train, nearly at the same time as the Jade night-train., just a bit larger than the Jade train
Sounds fun, doesn’t it?
Thanks for the detailed answer.
Dear Moderator,
You must have misunderstood the topic of the thread:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/Zoom-hacking-is-rampart-after-AC-buff-patch
It’s purpose was NOT to suspect someone hacking and it did NOT contain any screenshot.
It’s purpose was to find out which kind of zoom ANet sees as legit behavior (and which we all should use) and which kind of zoom is seen as an exploit (we should avoid, even if possible with the engine) and which kind of zoom is even hacking?
It would be much more informative if ANet could answer this important question, than suppressing it.
(edited by Dayra.7405)
FYI, multiscreen setups have a larger FOV, MUCH larger.
So it’s possible that some “zoomhacking” is simply people with nice setups.
Which makes it an zoom-exploit instead of a zoom-hack. Even if it is possible without modification of the engine, I can hardly believe that ANet want people with larger/more screen or “clever” exploit of window-mode to have such an advantage over the rest.
Therefore I think: I should be fixed.
When Desu drops to T2, do you think Kodash might overtake to T1? They might gain a bit too much from Desu and SfR point bleed.
With SFR and Deso loosing a lot of their WvW population a month ago, they stayed overrated in T1 due to the rating bug for a month. Now that SFR finally dropped, their score begin to adapt to their remaining population capabilities.
T2 clearly shows that Jade and Kodash are now better than SFR and probably better than Deso as well. So the EU top3 will be Vizu, Elona and either Jade or Kodash or Piken.
But PIken does not want T2 and blocks the T2-T3 border: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/Augury-Rock-Vs-Baruch-Bay-Vs-Piken-Square/2006509
it will be Jade or Kodash (more likely Jade, as night-capping wins) replacing Deso, if Deso doesn’t stay T1.
There’s no such thing as nightcapping because your night is someone else’s day.
Sorry, this is non-sense. Real-world night’s and days do not matter in the game, thats true, but we play on “virtual worlds” and it’s easy to define “night on a virtual world” as the period of time where fewest player play (are awake) on this world. And if this virtual night of a server corresponds to a real world night of some timezone is completely irrelevant (but probably correlated, the virtual world has night because it has a high amount of players in this real world timezone.).
Similar for WvW-matches, a wvw-match has night, where the total number of players in this match is below X.
Similar you can define prime-time of a match as the period of time where “on map” + “queued” is larger than “map capacity”.
It may be the case that NA-T1 servers have no night, but I am in doubt that they have 24/7 primetime. I am also pretty sure that lower tiers in NA have a night, and I know that all tiers in EU have a night and a prime-time and time which is neither nor.
The problem with the current system is that a prime-time player has nearly no value for the outcome of a match, whereas a night-time player has a decisive influence on the outcome of a match.
And at least I think, that it is boring that matches aren’t decided by huge battles of a lot of players, but they are decided by a few doing PvD.
A score-weight by amount of players in WvW, or a dynamic availability of objectives based on players (kind of overflow maps) would be much more fair and fun.
(edited by Dayra.7405)
In the end, we can conclude: Deso please stay fighting till Piken makes it..
An EU, a German and a French server in T1 avoid any such possibility and represents the EU-ladder much better, than 2 German and a French or 2 French and a German.
Especially as the next change will likely really be the last change till ANet changes the broken match-making.
(edited by Dayra.7405)
Even if you aren’t running with the zerg, listening to zerg-radio (your worlds team-speak) can be very useful. You get info on the current goals and about enemy movements and Commanders ask quite often for special groups as well.
Trust me mate if one day I am to learn any single guild of VS make alliance on nationality basis or if I’m to see similar screen I’d be on your side…
I did not wanted to start with it as it is 1/2 year ago and the alliance did lasted only for one week, but ask your mates what was in week 42
But should Elona win this week (I doubt, you will turn the match in the nights of the working week, we can only compete at weekends), and Jade comes up on friday, I doubt that you will ignore Elona
(edited by Dayra.7405)
But we all saw how the score evolved and the screens of your people defending/attacking objectives hand in hand…
So look at current T2 score! We pushed Kodash BELOW Jade during the last weeks and now that we are gone they are more equal than before.
