Mounts? YES. YES. and YES. We already have them in the form of a carpet and broom. Why not keep that functionality but add cool mounts!?!?!

It is literally the only thing I dislike about this game is the fact we don’t have mounts.

Come and play WvW, we mostly have some Golems for people that want cool mounts at spawn

And: I am against the abuse of animals as mounts.

I would say, it’s that same reason why a game like strip-poker is played
a pretence to show out naked

However, it’s not very hero-like to let your favoured girl die 14 times just to see her naked

What’s a mount? Anything that changes your default walking animation, or not?

So sitting on a Riding_Broom or Magic_Carpet is mounting them.

Sometimes mounts extend your capapilities. A glider does excatly that, so mount your glider.

I would say: we have mounts in GW2, just that they are called glider and toy (Riding_Broom, Magic_Carpet, …) and not mount.

So to all that want a mount: Riding_Brooms are cheap in the TP currently, go on and get one.

I want dwarves, dont get me wrong … but Skritt … yes .. shiny! GIMME

With their distributed intelligence: Skritt can only play in 40+ Zerg

If they meet an oponent without 40+ zerg, they fall in 10min fear or till they run into a zerg,

They have no armor (skins) only their base outfit.

I prefer having loot boxes. It means I can farm and farm without having to stop every 5 minutes to salvaging all my loot.

Good point, but still I would prefer not having boxes inside bags inside boxes …

The OP reminded me of another GW2-feature I hate:
You cannot view Vista’s while in combat.
Especially on places where the high is important this is very anoying.
Mobs never reach you where you are, still you never loose their aggro.
So it’s always: climb the high position, logout, login, watch vissta, very anoying.

I don’t care about spawned stuff intended or not, but a nice way to cycle through the different F possibilities (e.g. shift-F selects the next) would be a great QoL-improvement.

Next ally in options usually does this, though it might not be effective in cases where someone drops hundreds of items somewhere. It does work to separate out 2 or 3 interactable items to allow you to press f for the one you want.

Thanks for the hint, didn’t used that so far. It may help sometimes, but it also has a serious drawback: it has a to long range and includes to many things like player, pets, mini’s, all friendly NPCs (if they talk to you or not), while 100 of items are rare, but 100 of players with pets and minies are not. So it’s not very useful to cycle through e.g siege-constructions at a gate with the zerg around…

A cycle through only the F possibilities at current position would be nicer.

That’s why I believe that server linking is a hot-fix which gives ANet some time to fix the population imbalance problems. As long as demotivating the enemy from playing is the most effective strategy to win, WvW will have problems.

I agree, server-links as done now isn’t the solution, at best it’s a hot-fix.

I guess the sum of GH and Vabbi population look good at link time. However what ANet did not considered was: Vabbi was full of #1 bandwaggoner, that simply moved away when linked to last instead of first rank.

Total ppt is now 252. As the skirmishes result in a 1:2:3, this corresponds to a standardized ppt of 42:84:126, whenever the real ticks are more balanced, the skirmishes increase the contrast of the result, whenever the real ticks are more imbalanced, the skirmishes reduces the contrast.

I think in real games we rarely have a tick similar to 1:2:3 (44:84:126). I think the most common situations are the following 3:

  • 1 side dominates, ticks of 2nd and 3rd are rather close (skirmishes favour the 2nd over the 3rd)
  • 1 side is not present, (skirmishes harm the 2nd vs the 3rd)
  • all sides are quite balanced: (skirmishes favour the 1st and harm the 3rd)

FSP is getting a free win.

Of course FSP got a free win, but not with skirmishes, just with the linking system.

  • No 1 linked with 2 cheap bandwaggoning targets
  • Instead of adapting glicko to the relinked populations, they increased volatility, such that teh overlinked No 1 get 6 and 10 as opponents.

The big question I currently have is: How will Glicko be adapted end of the week?

  • based on the kirmish points? It’s not described so far
  • based on the score as before? then the skirmishes are just an illusion

The main improvement is: It doesn’t matter if you win a skirmish with 695:0:0 tick (as happen often in off-time) or with a 235:230:230 tick (as happen often in primetime). So the score doesn’t run away that far in skirmishes strongly dominated by one side.

Just had a quick look into out match and saw that the skirmish score is
5-4-3. How can that be? Shouldn’t_it 3-2-1? (i.e. the sum should be always a many of 6, but not 15)

I think Glicko should be reseted on every relink (i.e. every 2 month) based on ANets population measure using to build the links, e.g. as following

Compute for every link the total-pop.
There is a MaxPop and a MinPop
The link with MaxPop should get 1750 Glicko
The link with MinPop should get 1250 Glicko
All other are lineary scalled into that range.

EB is always open.
A side’s BL is only open (can be entered and counts for score), if that side has 125+ player in WvW or in queue.

seems like they want to kill gandara completely, 3 weeks outnumbered with deso and now 4th week again deso plus FSP (with 2 servers).

Our border have 1 camp only. Only thing that is competitive is EB……thanx…..I wont play this week.

Sounds like a quite natural match to me 1st vs 2nd vs 3rd

There is and will never be balance with server anymore. Much to many people have accounts distributed over multiple server or pay 500 gems transfer with left and play where the grass is greenest due to heavy bag rain.

FSP had, so I don’t see a point to give em 2 servers…

Better 2 server a 10 people than 1 with 25, right? But yeah none wold have been better.

DBL and Bloodlust

Our immediate focus, besides scoring, was to bring the Desert Borderlands map back, in the mixed borderland setup, that the community recently voted for.

Now that both maps are available to players, at all times, we can begin deciding if we want bloodlust to become a feature in Desert.

Um how can something that two servers have and gain points from, and one server don’t have and there for not gaining any points from not being focused to add or as i understand your post even questioned if it should be added? I mean it clearly give advantage to two servers and disadvantage to the server that are forced to play dbl, which is a punishment to start with.

I do not understand your post and i am trying to not get upset over it but it is really hard.

Isn’t the question: How relevant is bloodlust!
Compared to man-powerimbalance and off-time scoring it is completely irrelevant for match outcome. If matches should be more fair these 2 needs to be taggled and not the irrelevant bloodlust.

Let’s finish this by rembering that:

Every game somehow embeded into real-world is pay to win as real-world is pay to win
If the game doesn’t support it, you can still

  • hire someone to play the parts for you you do not like to play
  • buy the company that produced the game and enter god-mode.

So your saying don’t play guild wars? Uh no.

That was not what i said. I said you first spend money to get the game and then you spend money to skip large parts of the game instead of playing them. Why do you see this as winning?

Or to cite mysself (as I still do not understand it):

It happens often, but still it surprises me again and again, probably because I do not understand it.

There seem to be a not so small amount of players that always do the following

  1. Ask for a new game or new content to a game
  2. Buy it
  3. Notice they don’t want to play it
  4. Ask for buying the solution of the game
  5. Have nothing to do, so go back to 1

That’s fine for me, they pay the game I like to play
But can someone explain me, why people are doing that?

Just remember that: ANet is not selling Gold

ANet is selling Gems to get gemshop items and server-transfers. And beside storage extension and permanent-harvesting tools there is nothing in the gems-shop that helps you to play.

Gem-Gold is a player-to-player trade. One gain gold, the other gain gems, and both boost their goals with that.

The difference between tiers is just stupid right now.

Thats why I voted for 1 month (or weekly) re-links, then the bandwaggoners get linked down before they overstack that much

Anyhow next friday all T1 server will hopefully loose their linked world and be solo.

I only see P2D (pay to dress) Especially as there is nothing to win beside pvp where gold doesn’t help you and if you buy gold for PvE you only loose, namely play-time/money.

Just do the dailies that you can do solo easily (guards, sentries, camps, veteran creatures, boh spending, …) in off-time and you have it within 14 days with 15 min effort a day, i.e less than 4h effort. Ok, that needs some planning ahead and is therefore impossible for most

No it was never possible to sell gob’s. And without being able to sell gobs I don’t want a stack of gob’s in my bank.

Because /facepalm on I find all legendaries really ugly, how can you want to wear one? /facepalm off I only build a leg once for sale when a pre dropped in front of my feet (in WvW, from a Kodashie). And hehe, I’ve the gob reward-track stopped at 99% such that I can get one very fast should that happen again.

You have two possibilities:

  • continue shooting from where you are and with luck and the right place you hit it sooner or later
  • you do the large Jumping puzzle, between 3 and 4 key yo pass this karka and can simply shoot it from the roof. Now with gliding this JP may be easier than it once was, there may be several short-cuts now, e.g. from the light house in the south you can glide to the harhor roof now.

Random, during the Mordrem attacks on a pact controlled outpost. Maybe there is a minimum lvl of the map/outposts needed.

Will never happen because you would kitten off 20 hours of players who play outside of that period.

  • If I look around in EU and also NA-T2 thats less than 20% of the total players that play in these 80% of off-time.
  • It doesn’t matter, if you are on at that time you count as participating if you are on at anytime during the (whole week) match. In fact I would propose to have achievemets like season 1, but you CANNOT make them in the 4h that count for tournament-scoring.
  • The only thing that matters is: This is the only time where nearly all server are able to fill all 4 maps.

Nonsense, WvW is much to empty in Offtime. What do you want to show with a PvD-race?

The only tournament I would support is a 4h per week tournament, e.g. the first 4 hours after reset count for the tournament, the rest of the week is just for Glicko.

  • Increase the distance between the “contribution popup” (as in hearts of Maguma and WvW) and the “chests on right side”.
    I always get the contribution popup when I want to loot my chests.
  • Add a hot-key (assignment possibility) to loot the chests on the right.

Simple solution…. You can only transfer once every 3 months.

This is probably the best we can hope for. I give this idea all of the plusses.

I guess the number of people that transfer more often than evry 2-3 month is completely irrelevant. It will does nothing

All the bandwaggoners will make their server go to T1. The way to counter? Don’t be on a T1 server. Join one that has been T3 or T2 at the most. Blobbing isn’t fun and neither is the lag or lame comments coming from people hiding in 50+ man zergs.

That was a perfect strategy for NA as long as T1 was Glicko separated from the rest, but now it isn’t any longer, so they break out to run over T2/3 (currently in EU even rank 10 got a T1 server) as well.

If you want a cost function (it only slows down band-waggoning, it doesn’t hinder it), make it to cost time not money, e.g.: World-EXP is World bound. Each time you transfer you reset WEXP to 0.

Further possibilities are:

  • commanders are gone on transfer
  • BoH are gone on transfer
  • you need to make X-WEXp ranks in EotM on the new world before you are allowed to enter WvW
  • all wvw related guild hall builds are gone on transfer
