Stealth should be removed from the game, completely. It’s a broken mechanism. What the heck is Anet even trying to promote with such a cowardly mechanism as stealth??? No less giving it to a cowardly class as thieves! How long is it going to take Anet to figure that out?
As the title states, PLEASE?? :-)
I’m really having a hard time finding a good look for each armor class. I can maybe manage one acceptable look, for my taste, in each class. But, that is all I can manage to put together. There’s nothing else I like at all. Now, if I could use some items from the other armor classes, I’d be much happier. Or, at least can we get some pants in each class? More form fitting would be preferred too.
TY
I would hope Arenanet will not be so willing to go down the dangerous path of catering to Elitist, at the expense of those who actually pay to play the game too.
Content should be variable based on the level and number of those taking on the challenge. A closed instanced dungeon is too old fashioned and it’s time has come. Dungeons should be dynamic events. Where we all can pile in and the difficulty scales to it.
I’m convinced I’m permanently stuck on a “B” mode for RNG. I have almost 900 hrs into the game and my account has about 3 gold total. No legendary, no precursor’s, nothing but one set of exotic crafted armor, some karma armor, and a mystic rifle. For Ascended Rings, I have 4 after 30 or so daily’s. Never even gotten a white or celestial dye and I harvest like a fiend! Thus, when someone mention’s RNG, I simply cannot believe it’s just random anymore.
I will admit the biggest gold sink for me is WvW. Because you simply cannot earn enough money in there. You pretty much have to PvE for a couple of hours just to afford to WvW for a couple of hours. Oh…. and that’s with buying Gem’s every month too!
You designed dungeons to be TOO profitable. It’s been driving up inflation at an insane rate. As a WvW/PvE player, I’m pretty much a 2nd or 3rd class citizens in Tyria. It’s not a fun feeling…
I cannot guarantee the status will come off of “full” but, we’re trying! I’ve been promoting multiple blackouts each day. Hopefully, people are getting used to the concept and we’ll get better results over the new few days.
It’s really easy to remember, just log off for the 15 minutes following server reset each day this week. That’s between 0:00 – 0:15 UTC time. You can check the top of any page of the GW2 wiki to see the current UTC time.
Please, spread the word to your Guilds. Also, hit up the Dragon event’s and in L.A. to spread the word to the PvE community. We’ll need as many of them as possible to make it happen.
Server status is, according to the wiki, based on the number of active players at one time. That the server has to allocate it’s finite resources to serving the needs of the active players first.
Thus, there is no limit to how many players can have there data associated to a world. Just the number of active users leaves no threads available to handle the transfer process.
It’s a physical/mechanical issue. Not an actual population cap.
I want all of you on my World, NOW!!!!
Tarnished Coast isn’t in Tier 1 and yet, I’ve heard many are trying to get on there too. And, it’s not just for WvW either. People from PvE, PvP, and just family and friends are trying to settle in for the long haul. Picking worlds with staying power.
At this moment, there are 10 American worlds with full status. As someone who’s been watching it very closely the past week, it doesn’t change much for any of them. No matter the time of day or night.
Any new players trying to get into the game will also be locked out from joining friends and family until this is fixed. Guesting isn’t the same as being a part of a world community at all.
Was it one of those times where you go, “AAAAahaaaaaaaaaaHHHHhhhh! Kittens, run!….Ooooh”?
It was more like “Stei! Stei! We’ve losts everything in EB and they’re in our keep!!!”
“RG is on the way.”
“It’s too late. It’s too late! It’s… nevermind. RG is here. Everything fine now.”
I literally saw them save the keep, opened my map to see where to head next, and they must have hit SoS so hard at our keep that the game just gave us Bravost, Langor and Danelion back out of respect.
[/quote]
LMAO… SO been there! Wow, is that what we (I) sound like Stei? :-)
With bigger map’s I’d like to see 5 worlds, not 3, competing on it. It would end the easy 2v1 action that still takes place.
I’ll agree, WvW is a huge sink hole. The cost vs. reward is unsustainable. I have to PvE just to build the wealth to be able to WvW.
I’ve been rallying the players on JQ to log out for the 15 minutes, after reset, each night this week. Yet, it’s only marginally helping. Hoping they do something about this situation.
I’m starting to belief that bot’s and tin foil hat’s should go hand in hand. I’d love to see the data on how many player’s have been reported by angry players and those simply by accident.
Yes…yes…yes….. and more yes, please??
Here’s to hoping Anet expands it’s outlook to include more modern looks and styles.
Hoping a Dev or a support person will hear my plead. We have Guilds stuck in limbo with half their team transferred and the other half stuck on the old world. Others can’t even begin to move over to JQ because our status is stuck on full 24/7.
Please, can you help us with this population cap? We’ve even been scheduling “blackouts” for 15 minutes when you do the daily reset. In an attempt to assist those wishing to transfer over. But, the status really isn’t budging at all.
Any help or advice would be great!
TY
Ps… I’m certain many of the other servers can use some help too.
The Quaggan is adorable. Wish I could ask for a special back item skin for my Guild theme.
Many things sound good and I am happy for it. I would like to express that every time a new system is created, it pretty much invalidates the previous ones. Honestly, I truly wish FotM was never created. For after 25 or so (lost count) dailies, I only have 3 rings to show for it. Of those, one might be something I can build around. So now, basically all that annoyance and frustration has been made irrelevant. Which, I’m not thrilled with.
The back items will be the next question. Do I build one or keep the cheap back brace? Because I do not wish to spend 100+ Gold for nothing. As I spent (wasted) 40 gold for the Ancient Karka Shell. Which I can’t even equipped two of on a toon, grrr.
Please give us more of an outline so we needed waste our time?
Luckily, I read about the new Amulets before spending too much time on it. I’ve been gathering the gold and orbs for it already.
In my view, considering the cost and stat’s for it, it should have been a Legendary item to begin with. By name alone it sounds like the ultimate amulet! So here’s to hoping they upgrade it.
Sorry to hear David. I ask you to please be patient and know that you are all most welcome here on JQ. The community is working hard on accommodating everyone.
Today, we’re going to focus hard on a blackout for 15 minutes after the server resets. That’s 0:00 UTC time or 7pm est.
Good luck and hope to see you on JQ!
I’m laughing and giving myself a forehead with a mighty, “Oy!” Shortly after creating this thread, someone made one on Reddit here…
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/170d65/the_mother_of_all_jumping_puzzles_is_coming/
Drat…. drat…. and double drat…!!!!!!!! :-) Ugh… this really is jumping wars 2 isn’t it? Never in my long life of gaming have I experienced anything like this. Maybe if the camera angles didn’t make me feel ill so easily, I’d have a better feeling about JP’s. Wait… no, not really either. I’ll never understand how jumping is a fun and social experience. Though I do agree, the monthly was an easier one.
Still, the original point was about the reward system and the Dev’s fascination with JP’s and Dungeon’s. For those that do not like to do those things, you’re kinda forced into a state of poverty.
For an MMORPG, I thought the RP and Fantasy aspect was going to be much higher. I actually wish for more exploration. That our actions actually build and cultivate into something greater. Expand crafting into making things that exists in the world like statues, buildings, or something. Take the Lion statue in Lion’s Arch. I would have loved to help rebuild that. They could have had an achievement board permanently at the base of the statue. Where you click on it to see a list of who and how much each player has contributed to it. That would be boat loads more fun to me than a Mega FotM JP.
^ EPIC video, love “How the Universe Works”
Blacklight, sorry to hear you don’t like WvW. What’s world are you on? I WvW daily!
Just sending out another reminder for this evening.
They said they tried this and it severely broke something. So, they are working on it. I truly cannot wait too!!
NinjaEd, they are OP based on the overwhelming number of thread’s and post from the player base saying it is. Of course, with the name NinjaEd, I have little doubt you play a thief don’t you? Thus, of course you want more ability for yourself.
A thief should not be on par with any other class at range. For no other class is equal to them in close range. If you want 1200 range, then remove stealth completely. How’s that? Oh… you don’t like it?? Tough!!!
Thank you for all your input. The main theme was not about the JP’s in this months monthly. I simply want to ensure that we have the ability to earn comparable income from other event’s when the new daily’s roll out. Event’s that take an equal amount of time and effort. The greatest wealth in this game has been gated/rewarded to Dungeons, FotM, and JP’s. It has far outweighed anything that can be earned in WvW or PvE since launch.
For example, the new daily system could have something so terribly annoying to me as:
- Do Jumping Puzzle A
- Do Jumping Puzzle B
- Do Jumping Puzzle C
- Do Jumping Puzzle D
- Do Jumping Puzzle E
- Do Jumping Puzzle F
This is possible! Thus, I wanted to nip this right in the bud :-) To express that not everyone likes or appreciates JP’s. Same with FotM. As it’s been an overall poor to even quite bad of an experience every day.
This is a suggestion to the dev’s. The concept of the new daily’s sounded great and all. Until I realized you might ram even more Dungeons, Fractals, and Jumping Puzzles, down our throats. I dislike doing any of those. Jumping Puzzles I complete and utterly will not do. With a minor exception for Zraith’s.
If daily’s and monthly’s revolve around Jumping Puzzles, then I might as well quite the game now. Because a players income is already highly stacked in the favor of them. Please, if you are serious at all about balance as you claim to be, do not place Jumping Puzzles in with daily’s.
TY
Welcome to all those wonderful Guilds and new players wishing to join us on Jade Quarry. We’re still having trouble facilitating this due to how popular (and awesome ) our world has become. Fore, the active player participation of our World is keeping our server status at “Full” around the clock. Thus it’s falls upon us, the players, to help each other out in this endeavor.
Thus, for the rest of the week, we’re asking you all to voluntarily take a few minutes out of each day to turn off the game and close the game client completely. We have a few options for you we’re calling “10 at the Hour” and “7&7”.
“10 on the Hour” is to simply take a break for the first 10 minutes of the hour. The idea comes from health studies on prolonged sitting. That for every 50 minutes sitting, we should move about for 10 minutes before resuming. We want everyone to be a healthy and happy gamer. So take a break, move about, and get recharged for more action!
If you’re having a hard time prying away from the game, as I myself due, then we have “7&7” just for you. Which is to take 15 minutes off at 7am est. and/or at 7pm est. Which, if you noticed, the 7pm est. does coincide with the daily server reset.
- if you can only due one, please consider the 15 minutes off each day at 7pm est. when the server does the daily reset.*
For those wondering how or why these voluntary blackouts are being asked for, I give you this quote from the wiki:
…. “You cannot move to a world that is listed as Full. However, that status varies throughout the day and tends to drop during off-peak hours, i.e. if you are unable to transfer, try again when there are fewer people playing, e.g. early in the morning (server time) or during the work week.”….
Please spread the word!
Thank you and happy gaming!!!! :-)
(edited by DeWolfe.2174)
^pfft This made me laugh because if it’s “OMG… it’s WAR” then you should be moving to the next target as quickly as possible. Gloating is childish behavior.
Ummm….. they already contribute to the Guild, it’s called influence. Anything else is optional. Honestly, it sounds like you want the gold for yourself. Because who would get to use the Superior Siege or anything else?
No inspection at all, ever. Elitism and ego’s are super high in this game as it is. Look at how badly FotM has brought this out. Especially, I remember Runeblade complaining (a lot) on the forums about MF. We don’t need more of this style of negativity….
Yes, they need to open up customization more and more. Why even create such restriction in the first place, I do not know.
Add mounts to a special event and see how it goes. If we like it, you’ll know.
OMG… if thief isn’t OP enough, you want Range too???? No freaking way! And, Scorpion wire should be reduce to 600, not 1200!
The most OP class in the game, having thread after thread of complaining it is, and still asking for even more…. oy!
Wow, over reacting much? Just because it annoys YOU doesn’t make it wrong. For the game crash, did you tell the person it did so? You also assume that someone is supposed to know the audio bug exists. and, that this could even trigger it.
Simply ask the people to stop nicely. Then, lower the volume if they don’t.
We jokingly call them Badges of Jumping because most folks earn far more by doing the Jumping Puzzles then as actual loot drops. Because like any other drop, it has a randomized rate.
There’s a flaw in this thread from the beginning.
…… “Please no posts about guilds that you think are humble or respectful etc that doesn’t make a good guild though it is a good bonus!”…..
You forgot to add, “to me” in there. Because a good Guild to YOU, may not and in my case is not, the same by definition. Because the character of the players in the Guild far outweigh any other gaming attribute to me. That is what makes a Guild, Good!
Just FYI :-)
By asking for the “middle Garrison” are you referring to the middle Borderland when you zoom all the way out in map view of WvW? If so, a server reset does not randomize which borderland you get. It’s based on ones placings. Thus, if your world placed the same as last week, you’ll get the same Borderland again.
Arenta, sorry your first night was a rough start. May I add that our Commanders are not static figures. They may and do specialize in certain areas but, they do float to where they are needed most. Also, they turn the pin off and on frequently to take turns leading. Just because the pin isn’t visible, it doesn’t mean they’re not standing right beside you fighting. You’ll get to know them by name as most of us do.
I assure you, with a set of Commanders are as devoted as ours are, they are present if the real world allows them the chance to be on. Even if they just pop on for 15 minutes to help on the down low, they do. And, I’m certain anyone from the other Worlds will agree, it goes without saying for their Commanders as well.
(edited by DeWolfe.2174)
^ oh dear lord! LMAO :-)
Honestly, tonight sucked. The experience sucked, game play suck, and especially we kitten sucked!!! We sucked so hard you’d need to use gravity to quantify it.
Heck, you folks from SOS and BG must have been laughing, shaking your head, and wondering what the heck was going on with us in EB? From my perspective, it wasn’t even like playing on JQ anymore. For all the recruiting, I guess we never thought of any repercussions that might have come with it. Fore only a few were really trying to communicate and work together. Fore that, we earned being rolled over, again and again, all night long. I’m chalking it up to growing pains…
I can’t describe how frustrating it was. It was like trying to get a kindergarten class to sit quietly. I couldn’t even get everyone to do something as rudimentary as say “here” in chat so we could get a head count. Because the queue was full all night but, Commanders were struggling to get even 10 players to follow them. Some of us assumed it was just culling not letting us see the additional players.
I know the dev’s keep dancing around the question but, I’d very much like to see the data set on how many were players were on the BL and EB for Friday. The actual specific data set posted on here. Not a line graph with no numbers, actual hard facts!
For me, there was nothing fun or entertaining about this at all. The new update can’t come soon enough because it’s need badly.
(edited by DeWolfe.2174)
Due to the wealth of Guilds wanting to join us right now, we’re having trouble efficiently facilitating this due to the active server population of our World being full.
Thus, in showing of solidarity for our new brothers and sisters coming to our world, we’re asking you to log off for one hour between 6-7pm EST this evening before reset. I know it’s asking a lot and we thank you for this sacrifice. It will be rewarded
Actually, there may not be actual in game fighting occurring but, they seems to be a battle beginning within WvW. Where the larger Guilds are now trying to dictate what transpires as if they actually own the server they reside on.
Another thought I had is, will the Triforge Pendant get an upgrade to Ascended? Since it’s incredibly expensive and much more like an Ascended item in stats than Exotic.
Anyone else want this to get an automatic upgrade??? I’ve been holding off going for it because of this thought.
While formulating a proper response, the thread was closed so I figured I just post them anyway.
For content, please consider the virtues being fostered by the game you’re designing. I’d like to see content that isn’t destroyed. That we have something to build and grow. Except for rezzing and a bit of crafting (we consume a lot of what we craft) we’re nothing but killing machines 24/7. There’s more to life than that :-)
Visual customization is a big part of the game for me. I’ve heard nothing mentioned on expanding it. More skins, more character tools, etc. Especially, breaking down Armor and Weapons into more zones for dying and opacity/visibility. For example, not wanting to show the sleeves of a coat or not using the calf area of a boot. Even to go as far as unlocking skins from the armor classes completely. That at the time of equipping on a character, it’s traits are applied based on the armor class of the character and it’s rarity. Seems perfectly logical to me since there are no speed or dexterity values on the armor.
AOE nerfing…. As someone who just rolled an Ele recently, I’m not very happy to hear this. If they get nerfed further, than weapon swapping should be added. Because a staff build would be virtually worthless in WvW.
What is talked about again and again is the need to nerf a thieves burst damage and stealth. Obviously, it must be the favorite of someone at Arenanet. Why you would chose the criminal class to be the most powerful in the game is beyond me. A thief should be quick, light, nimble, and agile. Not a power house….. This makes no sense to me. Unless promoting backstabbing people as being a good thing to do???
For Fractals of the Mist, I can say I truly never wish to do this ever again. Sometimes it’s mildly entertaining at best. Most of the time it’s between a chore to being just a really bad experience. Last night it took over 3 hours to get daily in. A darn rage quitter left at the Chest seal of Cliffisde because a party member accidentally killed the 2nd Chanter. This was our last one! We had to start the whole run over again. Things like this really make it just a really bad experience. The game should know the party strength and vary the difficulty to match. Thus, drops out’s and rage quitters could not ruin hours of work.
With all this said, I do like what I’m hearing when it comes to the new things you already listed. Especially more and more in WvW!!!
More this, less thieves please
Why a Phantasm needed nerfing… because the character the phantasm is based upon cannot scale walls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A cat, with it’s claws, can climb. Hence, why only a couple of feline pets can do this.
For the bird idea, yes, I actually wouldn’t mind that being implemented to some extent. It brings a whole lot more fantasy and excitement to the game. If the game had dragon’s, you bet I’d want them to do a flying flame breath strafing attack The counter, a ballista can target and nail them hard.
People have to think outside the box and not whine so much.
In my opinion, it’s not a bug, flaw, or exploit. If someone ever reports a player for doing this they need a time out! This is a valid tactic for a Ranger. Fore a pet is not a mindless clone or phantasm. It’s a separate being with a mind and will of it’s own. The Ranger is simply giving it a gesture and it’s choosing to obeying. That’s why pets each have their own special skills and attributes too.
The other part of the equation is, while defending, are you not sending your pet’s down to attack the attackers? So, then the mechanic is equalized that way. Sounds like most folks are just whining because they don’t have a pet, period.
Habib and Mike, TY!!!
warning wall of text commencing :-)
I’ve been suggesting this and seeing your post Habib “One thing I’d like to see, for example, is a visible indicator of how much time is left before the siege despawns.” made my day! For me in W3, I find myself feeling information handicapped all the time. So this update would be a blessing. Just place a 2nd bar below the health bar that scrolls down in step with the despawn timer. If it changed color in 3 zones Green, Yellow, and Red that would be awesomererer ;-)
In additional to the manual refreshing, how about a Quarter Master refresh purchase option? Where you run up and pay like 10s to refresh all siege within the boundary of a keep/tower? Kind of like a parking meter. Run over a pop another dime in the meter every half hour.
Wenissa.2967 had an awesome idea for loot bag’s above. Have W3 loot bags acts like other bags. This way at the end of the night we can open a stack of them. Just like the Winter’s day gifts were. Doooo…. it!!!! please
For the forced despawn, I recently rolled an Ele and love…love…love.. lava pooling corpses!!! It’s just so EVIL and fun!!! Also, a great way to damage those foolishly attempting to revive their comrade during a siege. Please don’t remove my joy???? As Coltz said above, if I could force a respawn by this, that could be awesome too.
For queue caps, I’d simply love to know how people are actively on our World in W3 in real time. How about in map view, hitting “alt” would reveal all player dots on the map I’m on? Even better, all of W3 maps when zoomed out but, I imagine that would be an undertaking to implement. This information is sorely needed to effectively build strategy.
For the contested WP, I’ve never spammed a WP while defending a keep. I always ran back after dying or simply waited to be rezzed. I didn’t even know it was possible to spam the WP like this until this past weekend. For everyone who’s done it, this is what I’d consider an exploit.
Lastly, and this ones a big request, how about a new map that’s a “Boot Camp” zone! PvP has the mist, why not one in W3 for each world? Either that or please start including W3 into the Mist. Or just add the PvE gear we use into the mist.
Thanks again!!
Meh… I’m not feeling the things listed. Don’t they have better things to work on like new sieges, more equipment, and map upgrades? The only thing listed thus far that should be looked into are badges of jumping :-)
A simple suggestion really, can we please have a crafting tab under or above the collectibles tab when we enter a crafting station? A tab that holds all the craft-able items available. Even if each tab was shadowed and revealed when discovered by crafting would be fun.
It would help tremendously clean up the bank interface and clear quite a few slots as well. Especially with craft’s like cooking that have so many intermediate items. I’d even be willing to pay a little bit for it too!
Anyone else like the idea?
Was just saying this last night in WvW. Going into the hero menu to swap range weapons is annoying. Not to mention, blanks out the screen and I was blind sided. No other class has an issue like this.
For the inventory issue, yes, that can be annoying too! Since I’m still a baby Ele, drops can get mixed in with my gear. When I get to 80 and have exotics, it won’t be as much an issue. But, as of right now, it’s an issue. When you go to grab your staff and have to quickly pick out of 3 drops, all the while blindly running and being chased by a zerg
