There are several places you can get obsidian shards. Karma is by far the easiest, since you can earn karma everywhere. The mastery vendors in HoT sale them... bu I don’t think thats a good buy. Fractals is a good place if you have a tone of relics/pristine relics to break down.

Even with the lesser drop rate in SW, it is still the cheapest place to farm them.

I am not sure changing that much would qualify it to be Grenth still

There is a sub forum for looking for, with tons of guilds there you can look for one, or post what your looking for in a new thread and they will find you. You should note when looking for a guild if you want to wvw, the server your on is critical, other wise NA/EU is more than enough

The cheapest ways to get accessories is guild commendations for trinkets, laurels with wvw badges for amulets and pristine fractal relics for rings.

I find on diff days I like differnt play styles. Regardless of what some may say all types can be suited for all areas of game play. I say have a few and have fun, if you don’t feel it one day,m you might the next.

They didn’t put jumping puzzles in new wvw maps, they took map exploration out of wvw. (maybe because of new maps?) They also added a way to gain hero challenges complete without leaving wvw. I think its a clear sign that Anet has a line drawn between pvp and pve, and will not muck it up.

I understand if you want to farm all the mats yourself, the annoyance of the time gates. However I believe the TP negates all time gates.

While you can not farm certain mats, that I will not dispute, you can farm plenty of stuff you don’t need to craft the same legendary weapon. Then you can simply turn around and sell on tp, then buy the materials you do need... I have constructed 6 legendary weapons to date, 3 of them included building the precursor. I did not buy gold to just buy the mats, but simply farmed what I could and bought the rest with stuff I didn’t need.

I don’t think this is a broken item that needs fixing, granted I hate time gates myself, but Anet seems to be tossing them everywhere. 42 days on leg fractal back piece, if you have mastery to to 2 fractal missions, double that if you do not. Mawdrey has time gates on the food items, all ascended have these crazy daily timers... I’m sure more and more stuff will be behind time gates.

Just learn how to bypass them if if you cannot wait...

I can not confirm any but these, but I doubt its different.

The infinite tools don’t have a level limit on them that I am aware of.

Because it’s more profitable to sell a character slot, than to add these sorts of changes....

If you want to see the problems with pvp in a pve environment, mesmer portal into a guild arena, while others join the them colors...

I don’t think they need to make it so drastic, all they would have to do, is add a repeat last option. This would make lode stones, mystic clovers and some other things very easy. That or just add a quantity option, so once you add the ingredients, you could tell it make 100 instead of the extra 400 clicks and waits.

I think its only the precedent set from back in the day of levels at 80 meaning something. This was changed long ago and made many people disgruntled. Things change so just understand its different now; yet, it’s open to change. Who knows what will happen later on down the road.

To be honest, I found it so annoying I made a second toon, and keep them seperate, so i have my different necro builds with out having to flip flop and carry excess armors and weapons.

Outfits do make a solid look to level with, as your look is something you enjoy while your armor always adjust.

Well to be honest, times change and ways to level shift with them. I have always been a fan of map completion / story questing, but I haven’t leveled in so long I think there is better ways. If you pvp (even just do dailies for pvp pots) you can stack up the books of level up. Another way is crafting.. that is not cheap these days. There is EotM if you can find a good karma/xp train.

Make sure which ever way you pick, you use food and oils for xp bonuses and any other bufffs you have. Look for a guild as they can offer xp buffs as well.

I have had my eye on the glittering wings back pack for some time now. I just seem to always dump my gold in to guild upgrades instead of continuing to save enough to turn to gems and get it. I am on an NA server.

I would agree on making the one you want for skin, but I would find the cheapest ascended/infused back piece to make. Or go with the fractal capacitor, since you need to max that out for leg back piece anyways.

Don’t forget to do research on the cables and connection types, as hdmi may not give you the best quality, and not all dvi cables are the same.

I think there is an honest debate on weather shovel trains vs event maps on SW are more efficient. Either way you go, make sure to open chest with a lev 45/55 alt. This will get you blues/greens in a level range that will be more profitable, than opening at 80. The other bag rewards do not vary bu level, so you still have the same chances for lev 80 exotics/pre’s and the various things besides gear you get when opening at 80.

If you do farm event maps make sure you invest spare crest in sandy gear bags to open at a lower level as well.

Yea honestly, if you have the mats just sitting in the bank, you can whip up a lev 20 set of armor and weapons, and then toss in some lower level greens from the tp to add that incentive. I would say 15/18 slotbags would go far too. I wish some one had given me bags when I started.

Not to be a troll / rude, but I don’t find either of them appealing. Honestly I think the only outfit I have found to look good on a char is the Balthazar’s Regalia. The char are awkward and I think need more care in their designs instead of the human armor just attached at the same points. I would enjoy the char so much more if they had decent looking armors.

As a simple observation, more storage won’t fix the not enough room problem. I am a hoarder and I have many things that are probably junk and have no use for still. I have all my tabs, I also make use of a full personal guild bank for non account bound stuff, and i have a lot of storage with spreadsheets I track who has what that won’t fit in my bank. Honestly when I compare it to my second account (the wife’s account) i find 1 bank tab the same shared guild bank and 5 character slots are almost full, but still plenty.

The bottom line is for people like me, we will fill up to the max storage and hold stuff. Even if they doubled the storage, I am confident I would fill it up to just about the brim and then need more. The only way to fix this problem is infinite storage... which is not a sound ideal from anyone maintaining a database.

With HoT, there was a small relief as I was able to salvage 3 tabs with of ascended rings (for a hefty price,) but it was more room. The bottom line is asking for more storage isn’t the answer. It’s learning to manage your limited space until ANet rents the extra space at a monthly fee...

I believe the only way to get a name is wait x time after the owner deletes that toon. I doubt there will be any name sweeps like other games have done. After all one of the upsides to this game is walking away for a few months or a year and coming back later. Loosing a name would break that.

I would offer to help, but at this point with 11 toons at 100% map completion, others find it hard to keep up, and I find it difficult to move slowly. If you get stuck, and need help finding your missing points, or that last place for a certain map, feel free to send me a tell. Also while you do map complete, keep in mind there are 2 types. Track your explorer achievements for that map completion includes areas that will not require visiting for 100% map completion according to the map screen.

Well you can get in tp too.. so you could farm gold for it in sw.

If your looking for a challenging class, to me the Mesmer can be that challenge. One of my mains is a necro, and I do encourage every one to have a couple of them. I have different necros so I don’t have to switch back and forth on gear/skill sets. Honestly there is no real challenge in guardians. (personal opinion) but the best bet, is just try one of each and get a feel for it.

As far as reporting them goes.... where in tos does it say someone can’t use a merchant, or guild banner, or anything else in spots that annoy you? how would this be a report-able offense?? Just do like everyone else and don’t feed the trolls.

I understand the default impression of necro being evil, but it drives me nuts. So death is your chosen profession, have fun enjoy it. Don’t hide behind emo clothes and dark outfits appearing to be miserable. Instead, prance about in bright colorful happiness that can only come from the power of reanimating corpses.

I would certainly suggest to new players, the content is limited and easily exhaustible, however the best (and possibly worst) part of this game is the other players. Find a good guild or group of people to chill with and no matter what your doing (and how often its been done) there could be some fun left in this game. And to that note, contact me in game if you need help/advice a guild or just some one to run with.

There are already to many lazy players who refuse to put in any time looking something up. I personally get annoyed at noob questions that are answered by /wiki in an instant. I think a channel like this would encourage that laziness as well as be easy feeding grounds for the trolls. It would only bring more problems than it would solve, and map chat is already used for this so not sure what an extra chat channel would really have to offer.

It is true that they are all solo-able. I did them that way. I have helped man people in the past and they are considerably easier with help. There are also ones that are certainly easier to get while being dead ( you can take turns being the corpse with help.)

There are lots of threads like this. I recommend if you are undecided to read through the class sub forums. Ultimately though "strongest" is an opinion in many cases, I can only recommend try them out a little bit, and pick for your self based on your play style.

Both of these bugs have been since launch. Its a time honored tradition now for Anet to force us to do buggy content that doesn’t work and gets stuck for some sort of unlock. It took them a year to finally fix ogre wars after 2 years of it being broke and then deciding it was required for a trait.

I doubt they care, just be glad this map is an instance that has a tree farm and temples to refresh and let the old stuck event die often.

Fallen mask silver giving the collection was the bug. This collection was designed to be opened after collecting all the Auric weapon skins. Even if you opened the collection by the silver rank, you still could not proceed with the collection till you actually unlocked it.

I am at 12/13 of the Bolt II: The Perfect Sword achievement, and I am a level 500 weapon smith. One of the 12 collection achievements : The Art of Forging: Sword Hilt Edition should unlock the Balanced Sword Hilt recipe for me but I cannot find it. When I said I forgot how to craft a balanced sword hilt to a master weaponsmith he told me a weighted sword blade recipe has been unlocked. Can you please have a look at this bug as well? Lots of players have been stuck for months.

This please, its been reported a number of times, including your other, I’ll look into bugs thread. Please fix this soon, like seriously just add the recipie to the vendor for 0 karma since the dialog fails to work.

This is very frustrating. I have all these mats and everything tied into this collection. I could have done other ones first, but for some reason I went with this. The devs posted in other places asking for progress blocking bugs so they can work on them. See attached image where you ask for a hit recipe, and the vendor gives you the blade recipe. This does not affect everyone, so if you have this bug as well please bump it so the devs can see its a problem and add a work around or fix it out right.

This blocks progress and makes it impossible for Bolt 2 to get finished. After a serious investment in mats this is so annoying. On the bug report forums, I believe there was a few post about this already, but it would be great to fix, so i could continue this project.

21 days and still bugged, i guess i didn’t expect much, see image and tell me why some have this problem and others don’t and why you cant make an adjustment to let us all finish and get to the next set of bugs…

yes, talk to the leg vendor and you can buy another kit.

I guess they really wanted to not kill precursor market, so they didn’t let most of these crafting runs work. Teach us not to just buy one. Anyways I have the no balanced sword hilt bug on bolt 2 as well.
