Would it be too much to ask to make the Agony +1 infusions from Fractals a collectible? Only seems resonable since it is an actual crafting material…
Necro are the only class that can corrupt boons into conditions. I think that is extremely valuable in this scenario. Fractals are using boonrupter reapers already and it’s quite good to see them being used.
WP talks about this “Q&A”, where can I find it since he doesn’t link it.

Because apparently this stat combo that I wanted to make for my Auramancer Tempest doesn’t exist for armour, ascended or legendary gear.
I wanted to make a pure boon-sharing & healing class, and now I can’t. Any reason why you’re locking up this stat combo?
So events completed on said map reward said item? Ok that’s a lot better than map completion.
I thought I was supposed to get vials of blood. Any reason for why I got these random ores? I really don’t get how this system works…
What you see in my inventory, is what I got from completing the map.
Just discovered how much XP and loot you can get from it, great for leveling up!
When will it end?
I did get an exotic from it, and quite a few rares! Definitely worth it, the buzz you get from opening the chest is amazing and addictive.
I’m sorry if I offended any mods by bumping this thread, but I just wanted to say how funny it is that the Acceleration and Tardiness boon & condition I wrote up here, got to be made in-game a few months later under the terms Alacrity and Slow…
I suppose it’s nice to see these white knights being wrong!
Please, when trying to enter a full map, put us in a QUEUE. Not a difficult concept, so many games employ it… Even Runescape does it for heaven’s sake…
Second of all, keys: We got SO many flipping keys for opening stuff. Nightmare keys, crowbars, acids, exalted signals or what ever… Give us a KEY POUCH or something to store them in. Hovering over the pouch with the mouse cursor tells you how many you got for YOUR RESPECTIVE map… Double clicking it shows all current keys in them.
Please, PLEASE just do at least one of them because this is getting more frustrating with each passing day.
Nothing wrong with the idea, but it would work equally well using DE’s. I’m not sure why we need to introduce a new system, to which the current one can do just as well.
What it needs is to split the DE’s into meta and “lore/side stories”/ Perhaps the meta can stay orange coloured the other DE’s utilising your suggestion perhaps blue. These do not contribute to the overall meta, but still give appropriate lore and xp. Maybe even lore themed rewards which go towards lore themed collections.
There is absolutely no system that is going to be introduced. I’m sure you’re familiar with the hearts system in Central tyria… http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Renown_Heart
The idea is interesting. Dont expect many people to jump on it so easily, as the fact that the lore is rather superficial and as you said: feels rushed.
I dont know if that is the right idea, but something at least a step in the right direction.
I don’t get it, is the addition of lore a good thing or not? The reason I want this is mainly because it adds more to do in the maps and it gives us lore info that we didn’t get in the story.
I suppose not many people like this idea…
So I felt something was missing in the expansion… The lack of new lore information. Most of the personal story felt rushed and incomplete. Big discovered were… Not so big. Not to mention that the maps feel like giant meta events instead of actual explorable maps.
So I’d like to suggest a new addition that uses the current heart system in Central tyria maps: Lore lines.
Lore lines are hearts that can be completed in a certain order, instead of being able to be completed whenever you want. In a map with, say, 15 hearts, these can form 3 seperate “lore lines”. 3 hearts will be starting hearts, which are simple tasks like other hearts, but with a story reasoning behind them. You speak to an NPC, for example, that wants you to gather Ley Line rocks. When you speak to her, she’ll tell you she’s trying to create a machine that measures the power stores inside of these rocks.
When you finish your first “heart”, she’ll give more information. Now you can access the second heart in this lore line. At the end of this lore line, you’ll have discovered new lore about ley lines, dragon magic and other good, interesting stuff.
I made an example in the attachment.
I feel that these kinds of hearts would be :
- Interesting and fun, since we are not doing random tasks, but actually learning about the world
- A way to earn XP other than meta event grinding
- A way to introduce small, new items that can be sold by the heart vendors
- A great way to introduce lore information that don’t have to be forced into the main story line
Please share your opinions. I’d love to see what the community thinks of this.
We’re getting a very small trickle of Crystalline ore at the moment…
Just a thought: if, hypothetically, we would go after Kralkatorrik next… And we’d be able to explore the vast area’s of the Crystal Desert, why not allow us to unlock Mounts in that area as we can unlock Gliding in the Jungle?
A desert has a lot more empty, open spaces. It just makes sense! I’d love to see HUGE maps, with large gaps between content heavy hot-spots. A city here, an oasis there, a giant cavern in that angle… It gives us another angle of exploring, horizontal exploring, instead of vertical. I would love this concept a lot more than the current jungle one.
What do you think?
That’s a kittenty way to give them… I’d rather see a chest, just so I know I got them.
Is it true you fight a giant jungle dragon at the end?
Just completed that long jumping puzzle in the Silverwastes. How do I claim my items?
I personally enjoyed it. There’s no reason why all of this can’t be addressed through the additional content they are adding to the game later on. In fact, I believe they stated that the raid story takes place after the HoT story.
Also, Mordy IS the world. His body is the roots and trees of the Jungle, but that thing you fought was actually inside of Trahearne’s mind. Mordremoth doesn’t really have a physical “dragon” manifestation like Zhaitan or Glint.
Amazing how another player has to explain that to me, and the game fails to do so…
What kind of ending was this? You killed this nemesis we’ve been building up for so long, and then we just chill around at that weird spire? With some small additional character dialogues?
I’m disappointed… So many questions unanswered! Who’s E? What about the big jungle elder dragon body, akin to Zaithan’s? What about the egg? The other Pale Trees? What about Rytlock? Lore behind the elite specialisations?
The story felt rushed, almost no dialogues or anything… Seriously this expansion could’ve waited another half a year or something for my part!
Please make them collectibles. I don’t want to carry crafting materials around each time until I bank them and waste bank space with them.
I don’t understand why they’re not collectibles in the first place!
Also don’t mock me for being poor
The title pretty much says it all. 400 is a bit too extreme, but 250 is a bit ridiculous… You get everything almost at the start!
300 is perfect! You only need to do 2 maps and you get your whole set! I’d love to see this rather than 250 IMO.
I had revived up to Sieran and then accidently did a mis-step… I had to re-do the kittening fight that took me 15 minutes of non-stop attention-ability spamming.
Also, I cannot even repair my armor? This is not the quality I expected.
Not to mention, you went from amazing giant dragon fight (with kitten mechanics) to kittenty dragon-avatar with amazing mechanics… How about we fight the next elder dragon in its whole entirety with good mechanics? I was in AWE when I saw Zaithan. I was like… “meh” when I saw Mordremoth…
I am full Zerker but I never enjoyed it in all honesty.
I like to heal, support and tank more than I like to do damage… So I was thinking of getting Power, Vitality and Precision gear?
Anyway, now that we have a relatively cheap way to extract infusions, is there also a way to extract runes out of armor?
2 questions here
thanks
I killed 2 veterans in the Auric basic today. Yesterday, I would’ve died just trying to run from it and now I killed them with relative ease compared to the previous times.
I have to say this is a LOT MORE ENJOYABLE. This game was build for casual players, and this is more casual playing… Thanks Anet!
Also make it more “challenging”. For example a 50% chance to die on entering
the map would be a great challenge, and maybe every 2-3 minutes repeat that
50% roll.Because if you don’t die every 5 minutes it can’t be challenging.
And yes Sheldon, that was sarcam.
Wear toughness and vitality gear, and stop complaining.
I’d LOVE to get toughness and vitality gear, but I refuse to change my ascended gear since it will destroy my hard earned infusions and runes!!!
I am not a rich person. I played A LOT to get 70 AR & Scholar runes on my light zerker ele gear. I simply cannot waste so much time and effort. I’d rather buy exotic gear then with defensive runes but even for that I do not have the money…
This expansion has rendered my gear useless and there is little I can do now that Dungeon provide little to no monetary income. I honestly feel useless.
I’m not getting on too well with the maps, I find them confusing.
Not the topic of the thread.
- Do not reveal us what the gameplay and skills of the new Elite specialisations are. Also do not allow us to play them on the beta’s. This way, when the expansion launches, people will not mind having a +- 20 hour hero point hunt to get the full spec.
- Do not gate the story behind masteries… If you want to gate the story, do so by gating it behind treasure hunts or something we have to complete. I’d much rather have to do a world-spanning treasure hunt to gather many different components for a special item than GRIND (yes, it IS grinding) experience to play my next story step.
- Make more maps and gate some maps behind masteries. I’d rather discover a map for 75% and get enough XP to get a mastery to discover the new map than only discover 50% and having to grind A LOT of different masteries to discover the rest. I dislike Verdant brink. I don’t like it’s theme nor atmosphere. I love Auric & Tangled though…
The point here is that a lot of content is gated behind high-level masteries in the first maps… That’s not enjoyable. You feel useless when you find a difficult to reach Hero Point that can only be completed with a random mastery…
- Give us more maps with more content. For kitten’s sake, why didn’t you implemented a whole set of hearts in each map that have LORE story in them and can only be completed in a certain order as to tell a good story? That’s MORE content in the new maps, MORE lore and MORE sense of direction that some people want & need… These hearts could be the kind of stuff we do in Central Tyria. But the things we do would be relevant to the story it explains…
All by all, I have no idea what I’m doing in the new maps. You can only discover a new map once and the only thing you can then do is do the meta events & adventures. I really, really missed hearts in these maps. Hearts in the form of a quest or something…
Check the image for what would’ve made this expansion perfect for me.
The world map art is really ugly when you discover the new area’s. It looks out of place with the rest of the world, and you even see black lines that define the map’s edge… Could you not make it so that it all looks smooth and nice?
Not a lot of players seem to be playing the new maps… Does anyone know a guild that plays together or something?
Easy,
1- put up your EXP boosts and do the same event over and over till you get bored.2- Relog and do the same thing.
I don’t enjoy that type of grinding…
The maps are fun, but without a hearts, I’m feeling a little lost.
How am I supposed to level up efficiently? I want to do my personal story but the masteries are in my way… I just can’t seem to find a good way to earn XP.
Omg do I need to unlock the recipe from masteries…?
-_-
I cannot use it to make Exotic weapons…? What is this? I got the inscription but I can only destroy it. Can’t even put it in the Artificer’s discovery tab!! Help?
Check OP.

Why does the dwarf stance only have 5 utilities and the rest 6? It makes no sense…?
Dwarf has 1 heal, 3 utility and 1 elite.
All the rest has 1 heal, 4 utility and 1 elite.

Less than 5 minutes to go? WTF?
Nightfall, when traited with Chilling Darkness, doesn’t show the “chill” effect on its toolbar.
Also, let me say that a Chill Reaper is the best thing I’ve ever played. EVER.
Of course you would think this is great if you mained an elementalist. Chill is great against elementalists.
Chill, in the real world against every body else, has zero effect against thieves and hardly by effect against most other classes.
Chill durations, even in Grenth rune ice sigil builds aren’t long enough to chill an enemy, catch up to them and hit them with a greatsword attack (and two of Reaper’s 12 possible traits count on you being able to do just this but you can’t).
I got 3 utilities and an elite that chill.
I got 2 GS ability that chill.
I got 2 staff abilities that chill.
I got 2 reaper shroud skills that chill plus a whirl finisher for additional Chilling bolts.
Please tell me again how chill update isn’t enough when ALMOST ALL my skills will chill?
I ran full carrion, by the way. The amazing vitality combined with great DPS from regular AND condi damage just was too good to ignore.
Used Runes of Scavanging, and my GS had Sigil of Force and Torment whilst my staff had sigil of bursting and torment.
Seriously, sigil of torment is amazing…
I main an Elementalist and I always loved the Necromancer for its minion builds. Having a whole army following you just tickled my senses.
But in the beta I tried the following set-up:
Staff – GS
Soulreaping 223
Curses 332
Reaper 232
With Signet of Vamp, well of darkness, spectral grasp and “Suffer!” with “Chilled to the bone!”
I must say, it’s SO much fun to have so much chilled on foes (with fear) and both condi’s doing damage… It’s so fulfilling! I feel like Chill Necro is going to become a new main if I have this much fun in the release of HoT.
Seriously, amazing work on the Reaper. The best elite spec in my opinion.

Since I’ve been so deprived for content, I’m bored enough to play this event.
Anyway, how do you get max stacks? I complete and fully engage in every mordrem plant I encounter and get around 6-7 stacks… Other people get like 21… Any help?
Honestly, just make the mobs drop loot! I’m not asking for Scarlett-rated lootfests, but perhaps 1 in 5 chance to get some loot? And a champion box for every champion killed…
Good lord, it’s 30 minutes of grinding every time with NO loot in-between for some blooms and a few other tid-bits?
It’s not fun at all… At least make it rewarding if you’re not allowing us to have fun.
Added some idea’s for the best professions in-game (I’m a magic fanatic…).
