Although not specific to D/D ele,

scales excellently with healing power.
that + cleansing wave = practically a 2nd slot 6-heal skill
Already been addressed by the devs. It’s an intended and acceptable use of the party mechanics. Learn and let live.
Source?
Anyway, I never advocated for the removal of the entire kick thing. It sucks when it happens to you though, and the main reason for that would be the party leader erroneously swapping chars. Remove the appeal to swap, and problem’s solved.
Had it again.
Fix next patch? ^^
Boon hate sounds odd to me: “Bro y u giving me swiftness in combat it increases enemy dps!!”. Goodbye to support.
I honestly think the bunker problem can be solved with a simple but reasonably drastic change: improve the Vulnerability condition. Make it twice as strong. Maybe even make it four times as strong. I always found it kinda lame that MAXIMUM stacks of vulnerability has a smaller effect than the protection boon (25% vs 33% respectively). By doing this, offense may very well have the edge over defense without resorting to raw damage increase (to professions that already have a lot of that i.e. warrior/thief). In effect this should result in a more exciting game.
You know those people who, at the end of a dungeon, swap to a secondary in order to level him?
The problem: people do this, only to forget they are the one who entered the dungeon > every1 gets kicked out. I’m constantly at the mercy of other people’s stupidity and it bothers me.
The solution: we all know we can’t solve man’s stupidity. I think removing the entire entire-party-gets-kicked-thing isn’t satisfactory either. What would work imo is removing the appeal to swap. So allow only the character that entered the dungeon to be the character that finishes the dungeon, something like that. This way, there’s no more reason to change characters, making victims like me actually able to finish dungeons.
The negative: no more free riding your secondaries to lvl 80. A “sacrifice” (insert Dr. Evil gesture) I’d be very willing to make.
Ty for reading.
I was 30/30/10 which worked great but then I hit 80
o_O
Anyway if you wanna do big damage with melee + range, feel free to go 30/30/0/10/0 or something. Proper traits in there somewhere.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Smoke_Bomb
what does mesmer have to do with anything?
So given all these buffs, how much damage can say Jaguar’s F2 do against a normal mob? I would guess around 10k or am I way off?
omnom pies/ghosts are still good lol. They were OP earlier, plain good postpatch.
Had a thing today in CoE p3 where at the very end (after defeating Alpha for the last time), Spire decided not to move anymore, leaving us stuck and without the dungeon reward. We tried waypointing around and logging off but couldn’t get her to do anything.
Gave up eventually.
I thought the current BC is better than a ‘fixed’ BC. The move itself states it’s only supposed to knock down fleeing foes, while it knocks down 100% of the time on hit.
You sure you want it fixed?
?
To me LFG = looking for group (duh). 1 person looking for a group to join.
LFM = looking for more, a group is looking for additional ppl.
What’s this about whispering and ish. That’s irrelevant.
4x Lich + Time Warp should be in our dreams.
and all MM xD
I fell into the ground in Straits of Devastation once. You end up in water, I decided to swim all the way down. Eventually you can see and touch a dragon down there, not moving or anything, like the ones you see flying in the sky. Weird stuff.
Axe/Focus is the more suitable choice for a power setup, but Axe/Dagger could work. Not for the damage, but for condition transfer and aoe weakness, both great tools.
So go ahead and try.
And why not? Really the only hard part is do i have enough endurance and how do i live through the bubble or negate it. Food can cover endo if you lack it.
Food is just 40% of vigor, I’m more concerned about his AoE life drain where you would need to summon flesh wurm but its recharge is too long to be used reliably. General lack of swiftness (warhorn plus one utility) doesn’t help either. Necro was designed like that – his high basic health pool plus death shroud compenstates for lack of defensive skill but it might be not enough for lupi which generally requires more active aproach. I know it’s rather poor proof but usually when I pug, necros are the first ones to die.
I agree with the active approach part. From my own experience as a necro, in phase 2 if lupi targets only me I won’t make it: need to dodge more often than my endurance allows. No blocks, no invulnerability skill. Just DS. Haven’t tried the 40% endurance food yet though. There might be hope if a necro were to go full PVT with 30 SR, so DS can soak up about 3 full force blows. I’m not sure if you can regenerate LF fast enough though. Possibly with D/F + A/W or something. Necro’s have it rough.
Kind of off topic but oh well.
Nice vid, awaiting even more classes to do it ^^. Can thief do it?
If a warrior is required to dodge for maximum burst, while a ranger is not, the ranger is relatively better at bursting a mob with CC than a warrior is. It’s dumb to say “yeah but add ANOTHER 6 seconds for the dodges!!1!11” when the test is clearly looking to see how fast you burst down the giant. Ranger has the luxury of not needing to dodge, warrior doesn’t.
I guess though this concept is too hard for jkc. Go ahead and do burst tests to mobs without cc so people like him understand what’s going on.
you missed splitblade. don’t you want 5 bleeds + burns :P?
Yeah warriors are easy to kite… don’t warriors ever use ranged weapons?
Besides that, I still think the 1 trick pony warrior can be a viable asset. Other than that, warriors need to be carried a bit by their teammates. Considering the damage they deal up close, it can be worth the trade off.
Also I hope I never encounter you or any1 like you in-game.
I find them rather fun to stomp, don’t you?
Oh pvp, sure thing. I was talking about pve really,
If you’re getting outrunned as a thief by anything that isn’t an ele, you’re doing it wrong honestly.
Also wth, passive 25% speedboost for every1 with no cost is the dumbest idea ever.
Drach, you have some serious preconceived notions that are absolutely ‘redicoulus’.
All your ‘shoulds’ are not in any way ‘shoulds’ and I disagree with all of them.
It is clear you like warrior, I suggest you go play that class instead of necro. Also I hope I never encounter you or any1 like you in-game.
I’ll look into making a safety net for the iron forgeman fight if you die in the lava. Thanks for letting us know.
Dying in the lava is also a very likely possibility when fighting the end boss of CoF p3.
Wth hellmood? :p
BRB clearing trash with marks, wells, epidemic, life transfer among others.
Necro has ZERO problems with clearing trash aoe lol
As for axe, double the vulnerability caused by axe #1 and we’re talking. Maybe yet another increase of dmg on axe 2 (fair to keep in mind that this move has already been buffed).
I like it. Never found GW2 too serious of a game. Get a good chuckle over a bow shooting unicorns.
Hell, a unicorn isn’t that different from an arrow. Unicorns have a horn, arrows have arrowheads. Additionaly, unicorns have more weight behind them, which adds more force on impact, whereas the hero shooting them clearly isn’t hindered by its weight. So I suppose, if you wanted your fantasy game to be realistic, shooting a unicorn at zhaitan would be more efficient than shooting an arrow. Therefore it would make sense that the hero would shoot unicorns instead of arrows, if given the option to do so. So following the immersion argument, it would break immersion if an arrow was shot at Zhaitan instead of a unicorn.
Funnily enough I’ve had times where I wanted to level more slowly, and times where I wanted to speed it up.
I suppose an optional “you gain only half experience” toggle in the options menu could do no harm. I doubt if it’d be worth the hassle though.
Have this on my warrior, but not on my necro, pretty weird.
I tried 3 times to travel from LA to Straits of Dev on my warrior. 3 times same result: Got there, walked around a bit, then disconnected. On reconnect, I was back in LA but had in fact payed the waypoint fee (7.5 silver isn’t a big deal but its the thought that counts).
Eh, a “downed duel” would be won by warriors first, rangers second.
Necro’s #1 is the only reason why necro’s downstate isn’t worse than average imo.
“Shake it for great justice” is my favorite xD
or “Shake it on my mark”
Eh, main problem with Thief damage atm (I’ll leave the kitten stealth out of the picture) is the Mug trait. Overpowered as kitten, lol. 7.5k damage for a tier 1 trait? That damage in the current state of traits gamewide is a grandgrandgrandgrandmaster trait. Reduce damage by at least 50%.
Max vitality roughly doubles the damage sponginess of LF. That is to say, 1% of vit LF is worth as much dmg as 2% of no vit LF.
And I would expect max toughness to do the exact same thing.
So in the end it really doesn’t matter which one you choose (or both)
There’s been threads about this before, but frankly I can’t find em no mo.
Two questions:
1. Does +toughness decrease lifeforce depletion in DS when hit? (does toughness work with lifeforce). Atm I believe the answer to be yes.
2. Does vitality increase max life force pool? Atm I believe (that is, I think it would make sense if) it doesn’t. However, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Life_force says it does.
Ty in advance.
How Much Do You Think AOE Nerf Will Affect Us
in Necromancer
Posted by: Doctor Orderly MD PhD DDS.7625
I dont think much will change (I use staff).
I just noticed this subforum’s subtitle: Personal story: it really is all about you.
HUEHUEHUEHUEHUEHUEHUE
I think this problem will get more or less fixed in the upcoming patch. But yeah besides accidental DC I personally have seen plenty of ragequitters in the sense of OMG OUR RUN ISNT PERFECT ragequit at 3rd fractal. Wth is wrong with those people lol.
Reaper’s Mark to 2 seconds of fear, yo.
Well the first step towards this skill is to see it as a weakness field first, and one that causes poison at that. Weakness is preh good. I use it occasionally in PvE, always vs the Legendary Searing Effigy (ironically for the poison this time). Wouldn’t dare use it in PvP.
Of the current legendaries, only Kraitkin ‘fits’ the necro imo. Plus, of the trident users, kraitkin is the best suited to the necro imo. I guess maybe Frostfang too (I personally don’t feel that weapon suits either warrior, ranger or necro haha).
Co-signing everything said by Cogbyrn. That man deserves a medal.
Mr Sharp said the following in a post;
“No prob. Some classes have a ton of AOE, while others don’t have as much. So we’re not just going to do a blanket nerf to all AOE – that’s not fair to all classes. We’ll go on a class by class, weapon by weapon basis.
And as I’ve said, we may need to tone something down in one area of the game, but it may be totally fine in another area.
For some weapon sets, the AOE options may be too strong compared to the single target options, which is what we aim to address."
A fine response by Sharp, and frankly some of the concerns people have had in this thread and others were just too ridiculous lol.
Although as we’ve all grown older and wiser we know that Anet will at best do a mediocre job at implementing this change, leaving much to be wished for.
I think if you use Reaper’s Mark the damage is absorbed by the blind, and then fear kicks in.
Best and coolest place to implement cleaving for necro is Necrotic Bite imo (dagger 1 last hit). The animation is pretty big, its practically begging for cleave.
Axe could use buffs unrelated to cleave/splash/that sort of thing imo.
the only time you really need agony resist is in jade maw and when it comes to other mobs you can easily dodge their agony. i used 250 ectos to upgrade to tier 2 back piece, so are you telling me that A-net should remove this? whats going to happen to people who already used 250-500 ectos to upgrade their back piece? Is Anet going to give back their 250 ectos? it wont be fair on me and so many other people who has already used this recipe.
As a developer, I would give a statement in advance so people won’t waste 250 ecto one day before patch. But just because people spent their ecto doesn’t mean nothing may change. Those people got the privilege of getting a certain item sooner, and apparently thought it was worth it.
havn’t seen any thieves (literally)
Actually I checked my combat logs, his/her name was “Unknown”
Yep I’ve seen this too. Just a sign that the game can’t handle thieves right now and they should be nerfed to the kittening ground until stealth is fixed.
Yeah I like the idea of giving the other team quickness as well.
So… how does a D/D fire only ele stay alive while DPS’ing vs any dungeon mob though?
I like the numbers by Arashi and franky I’m not suprised. It’s not the first time spamming auto attack deals more damage than using other skills + you get the most out of Pyromancer’s Puissance and Internal Fire that way which is good.
But still…how does he stay alive?
“Go back to WoW then blah blah blah”
Basically this.
Yes, in gw2 the majority wins the encounter almost always which should be looked at, but introducing trinity is not the way to fix it. If you get such a thrill from killing healers, seriously, go play another mmo :P
I think downed state being there has something to do with lack of trinity. Could very well become (even more of?) a spikefest without downed. Downed state existing is OK, could as said use some patching up.
This applies to Guardians as well, so its not warrior specific.
