Warrior OP! Thieves castrated…
My balls
Simple answer would be their curious nature of wanting to know more about the world. What better way then to study all the neat gadgets the other races have invented and possibly create their own. The new NPC Scarlet is a Sylvari engineer/scientist that created doomsday robots and tons of other stuff. XD
Plants love technology anyways…like greenhouses and playing in the sprinklers. :o
That’s a sexy crab. :o I never noticed him before. At least I think I never noticed him before.
and Caledon is my favorite zone in the game. /shame
Longbow is so casual. I want a 2handed Bazooka.
It can shoot Holy Missiles that smite sinners.
Ugh, skill clickers. This is why people think Thieves are OP. All the skill clickers I’ve killed who can’t move their characters. :o
I was expecting a PvP video also. XD Maybe I’ll go beat on him with my Guardian when I’m bored and see how fast he poopz him.
Anet just wants Thief to revolve 100% around stealth~ that is, until we use it too much. Then they have to nerf stealth but make sure to nerf all other non-stealth things to keep us from not using stealth. :o What do?
Now we’ll have an entire grandmaster skill tree that’s useless (even more useless as non condition) since specing into Trickery all the way will be impossible since less vigor, no shadow return and being carrot on a sticked to 30 acrobatics.
Also, it feels like their impression is that when a Thief gets a stun landed on them, they’re supposed to take it like a man and die. o.O and they want those stuns to actually land more often.

No, I hate dwarves.
bored at work again
, candy cane pistol idea, freeze, ahahaha ha ha ha
It’s beautiful. :o Would be nice if they added stuff with snow effects like that.
They need to nerf our Armor from being so Trenchy. Trenchcoats are OP and restrict movement.
2 at most.
My Thief because I like him.
My Guardian because it’s the only class that matters.
Here, I’ll toss my dream weapon into here.
Class : Ninja Thief
Legendary name – Chaos Generator
Also known as THE CROSSBOW-SHORTBOW.
Basic description – A Tech Shortbow that looks and acts like a Crossbow that’s filled with poison and controls a variety of elements.
Character aura – Green pulsing glow and electrical flashes along the cables and arms. The mouth at end of crossbow will have a swirling circular glowing aura that randomly changes color as you use it.
Footfall effects – Green poison footfalls.
Effect on equip – Loud mechanical sound effect of it opening, arming itself and charging up.
Unique Sound/look – It’s a Unique Black and Silver Shortbow that Looks and Acts like a Large 2 handed Crossbow. It has a high tech and sinister appearance with a Demon head at the end of it where the arrows fire from. The projectiles are sharp metal bolts imbued with poison/elemental energy. It has custom sound effects and special crossbow holding/firing animations.
Other Info: This bow always fires elemental arrows/bolts with it’s #1 weapon skill.
The element it fires is based on whatever color the aura at the mouth is. If the mouth is swirling with a firery red aura all the bolts will be fire and cause a fire effect on impact and when it kills an enemy.
When any other weapon skill is used the bow will change to a different element and merge that effect into the weapon skill.
It switches between Ice (the aura looks like water though.), Air, Fire, and Poison (which causes a throw gunk kinda splatter)~ Spamming Thief Cluster Bomb with it will cause all kinds of chaos. :o

I been wanting this trait fixed/removed since the beginning. God I hate it so much. Hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate! And they’re nerfing my trickery sword as if they’re trying to force me back into Shadow Arts so it can continue tormenting me. You’re going to cause me severe emotional trauma, Anet. I’m serious. Fix this thing, please.
This trait makes me hate the entire stealth gimmick, although I’d rather play like my GW1 Assassin anyways. If you’re going to keep revolving Thief around stealth and forcing us to use it you need to do something about this trait.
As long as Venoms remain Utility skills and not F2-4 skills they’ll remain fat and useless.
They could merge 2 systems and just put skillpoint-like shrines in random locations and after activating them a boss (that uses the skill) appears for you to beat the crap out of. When it dies it unlocks the skill in your list to be learned with skillpoints.
So you’d be discovering the skill’s existence and then figuring out how to use it, basically. Makes things a little more interesting. o.o
Something is very warped right now. The transition from Diablo 2 to 3 was one of the biggest sequel disasters ever created.
You can’t throw the word “good” anywhere near that. o.O
GW2 does have some of that problem to where it’s only a fraction of what GW1 was/had which are it’s downfalls. You can still throw “good” at GW2 though. :P
Sounds to me that you need to get used to this style of gameplay. WASD style allows the best form of reaction and movement in an MMO, which is something extremely important in GW2, especially if you want to enjoy pvp. It’s not like those crappy F2P Korean games where you just stand in one place forever mashing buttons. So learn how to use Keyboard+Mouse It may even make your brain healthier and add 20 years to your life. Don’t surrender to such a simple challenge.
The Map in GW2 is awesome, I find myself constantly cursing maps in other games now because they’re horrible in comparison. You can mark like 1-2 points to follow. Think it’s either ctrl or alt + left or right click on map. XD idk I don’t use it anymore because I don’t really need it personally. You can also draw and ping stuff on mini map for party members.
Also you can put spaces in your character name so you could easily fix your problem by giving them a last name, title, etc. ~meow.
Scarlet would make a good Grinch. I don’t see a reason why not to add her.
She’s going to put killer robots into our stockings.
It’s official: Anet hates Thieves.
Just because they didn’t feel like animating our new skill at all and putting as little effort into it as possible doesn’t mean they hate us…. right?
Just make Berserker ascended armor and you’ll be safe. Condition builds are too risky to be rendered ineffective, and Tanky stats on armor is always questionable and/or shunned.
You can also always leave trinket to handle V/T stats as they’re easier to get.
Venom share thief
Heh, that’s actually true. It’s literally the only Thief build that will ever be buffed and never nerfed. Unfortunately nomatter how many times they buff it it’ll still be crap,
(edited by Doggie.3184)
One day it’ll be changed into a precursor for the legendary amulet.
Then you can transform into Ganon.
I use Spiders. :o
If you look closely at it, that bunny is actually 18.6% cuter than the normal ambient bunny design.
Those sigils/runes are worth like 1-30~ copper to 1 silver. :/
Moving it to Grandmasters severely limits any possible build diversity. If it’s so important then we’ll not only have 30 Critical Strikes a hardcore, massive requirement for every non cond build, but 30 Acro as well. It’d be the new 10/30/30. Maybe it’s intended to be a huge indirect DMG nerf across the board.
I played a thief in Dark Souls and absolutely loved backstabbing and parry/riposting. When I started playing GW2, I really wanted to be a parry thief but alas, there was no such skill. I would love to see it implemented on sword offhand in the future so that I could D/S and relive the play style.
I was a Thief in Dark Souls too, except I used Claw. Light the thing on fire with Charcoal Resin and parrystab people in the stomach with it. <3
If you didn’t play GW1 Assassins didn’t have stealth, they were block tankers + shadowstepping ~ also death blossom did high crit damage instead of condition dmg only. It was so beautiful.
See look at that. Claw, Parrying and Burn condition right there. I made a Claw thread before a while back that was dedicated to bringing back Assassin-like block/parry gameplay from GW1.
Probably after last patch.
I’ve used it now on a handful of Rares and gotten 1-3 Ectos so meow.
I use 10/30/0/0/30
Mug heals me for ~2k every 20 seconds and withdraw for ~4.3k every 15.
Depending on how frequent I use them this sets me up at ~340-390 hp/s + stolen regen, my next goal is to utilize Infiltrators Strike and Dodges well to not be where the damage takes place in the first place. Frequent and swift usage of IS will reduce the overall condition dmg you’ll take and good positioning and dodging will do the rest.
Shadow Step and Runes of Lyssa will provide you with a burst cleanse. The problem with trickery builds however is that they at some point, especially when under the effect of chill will run low on initiative, if you are good at managing initiative and know how to keep the initiative expense:income balanced during the fight, this will happen less frequent.
Also I find this build more rewarding and more punishing at the same time than any other thief build. Next patch it might be unplayable though since it relies heavily on infiltrators strike and the vigor from bountiful theft.
This is what I use. It’s a very fun build, especially in WvW but it is indeed very vulnerable to conditions. I actually stuck a Sigil of Generosity on my sword which is entertaining when it lands at the perfect moment. I also make use of Shadow Return a lot to drop conditions~ since sword’s auto attack does so much damage you don’t need to really be dependent on spamming 3. I use Traveler Runes to drop SoS for Agility or any other random utility I found useful to swap to. Used to use Shadow Trap till they ruined it.
How much I love this build is also why I really dread the upcoming patch. Trickery is very hard to spec fully into with Critical Strikes being pretty much a requirement to kill anyone with Sword. The only reliable defense you have is shadowstepping (when it doesn’t bug and rubberband) and Vigor, and of course the Mug Heal&Stun. As of currently though it’s not only fun and “tricky” against enemies but it’s a good team support build.
I’m pretty positive an Anet employee has literally never played this build. I’m not even sure they know it exists.
(edited by Doggie.3184)
I honestly just wish they’d delete Venoms. I’m tired of them trying to fix such a lame concept and seemingly ignoring everything else because they’re so desperate to make them viable or fun when they never will be as utility skills. They only thing they could really do with it is put it on F keys like Steal.
I’m a little out of the loop here but, when was the last time ANet did ANYTHING to try to fix our venoms?
Side note, JonPeters implied in another thread that the thief heal skill was kind of a big deal. Wait and see I say.
All I know is several times I’ve seen that word “Venom” in patch notes with minor tweaks and changes with nothing of real value fixed/buffed and it always kitten es me off or makes me /facepalm because it’s such a boring POS mechanic.
and with the heal skill~ Assassin’s Reward? Yeah GL with me going 30 Acro and 30 Trickery so I can have no S/D DMG at all. I enjoy Sword&Steal builds a lot but the patch just tosses it into the trash bin. The whole trickery line will serve no purpose beyond condi builds if we’re forced to spec so far into acrobatics to work around the survival nerf. Even then it’s still basically RIP Sleight of Hands.

Save the Ticket for the next RNG weapon release I guess.
On the contrary, we support streamers by regularly promoting them on our Facebook page (which has nearly 1M followers) and on Twitter (which has over 228k followers), as well as listing them on our official Twitch TV channel (which has almost 16k subscribers). We give streamers a lot of publicity and recognition, and we’re always looking for new ones to check out.
We also have regularly asked our community for recommendations of streamers they like.
If you have a recommendation, please share. We would love to take a look.
Also: what do you define as “support”?
I want more Anet streamers, especially in Spvp. :O Promote/Support your own employee streamers too.
WTB Thief being more like Assassin. Stooping to petty Thievery has ruined us. We’ve lost touch with our roots and have become weaker, less intelligent (forgot how to use majority of our weapon pool; lost touch with our “Way of the Master.”) and more helpless; unable to go toe to toe with enemies like we use to through parrying and blocking attacks. Such a sad, sad fate.
Venoms will always be dysfunctional while shared venoms needs to be balanced with 5x strength so anything they do with venoms in the meantime is meaningless.
Yes thieves should get a parry move but it fits badly into the initiative system. The underwater block is situationally perfect or quite useless (multiple enemies hit through the block response) which is a classic broken skill.

SHHHHHHHHHHHHH! DONT TELL THEM!
If you don’t want to tell them when there is a bug in your favor, you should not report bugs that are not, either
But that would be silly. :o
Would be nice to be able to choose both stats and archetype from box, if actually lucky enough to get a drop if such a thing will be available. o.o Maybe I’m asking too much though, but hell, we need 6 pieces. o.o for multiple chars…
I’ve only found 1 ascended box’d weapon in the long amount of time I’ve been playing.
Awesome. :P He looks so evil. >;o
I assume the weapon layout has some kind of mystical magical power that makes it impossible to change back into a skin. The same issue with Transmutation Splitters failing to remove skin and giving a statless weapon instead.
so why does the most mobile class in the game need 1200 range again?
you already get 1500 steal range to close distance and plenty of tricks to move around and evade…. if anything it should be lowered to 750-800 to compensate for that
Warrior is the most mobile class. Steal doesn’t let you fight from a distance.. o.O
Trickery and evasion builds will be totally destroyed into the dirt Dec 10 patch and your post generally has nothing to do with range weapons and I consider it spam.
Yeah, I did indeed notice my bags filling up with runes and sigils?
I noticed the same thing, I thought I was just unusually lucky or something because the description was the same. ;o
Weird, I can’t find the delete thread button again. ;/
And cuteness saves another potential quitter.
Dwayna and Grenth Festival Hats in Gem store. ~.~
Dwayna?
They’re following the GW1 theme where 2 hats are released. one represented by dwayna (antlers) and the other Grenth (evil hood thingy). Unfortunately they’re from Gem store and not given through in-game event though. We’ll probably get somekinda new item in-game still but meh… Them delicious GW1 moments where festival hats were free and costumes were cash shop.
Never knew Dwayna was representing horns.
Check it out, little broski. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Festival_hat
Legendary is easy to get, except for precursor.
Unless it’s a cheap offhand precursor. :P

Some of the best fitting armor on male Sylvari. :o All hail the mighty pants that aren’t too big. Just check out that awesome normal-sized butt. Why can’t all armor be like that, especially Medium? They must of made that armor before they decided to swap everything to a Sylvari-unfriendly mesh.
~meow.
The problem is that very few non-light armors look good AND work with our proportions. The cultural armors are some of the only armors that properly fit us.
unless you have the biggest male body type……then oversized shoulderpads and overblown buttcapes (see the skirt effect thread) will be your dearest friends. Hell this is the reason i forgone buttcapes completely for my mesmer and got the AC light pants instead (i had only 2 options for buttcapeless pants anyways)
I’m actually want real robes in game, wizards must wear robes and pointy hats.
I’d love a pointy hat for my Necro. :O

Since I’ve been playing my Guardian alt a lot I decided to buy the Torch Precursor since it’s cheap and the coolest looking legendary for the Scepter/Torch build I’m using. Now I can just keep hording stuff like I been doing till then while using the Precursor in battle.
the daily achievement point system is working as intended.
5 / 5 dailies for most people.
the minority who wishes to grind, can grind.no pain, no gain.
At some point the pain becomes too much and it is time for a radical detox. Namely, qutting the game. I am sure you are going to retort that nobody cares and anyone is welcome to quit at any point in time. And you will be right. But consider the group of players with OCD who take the “everything or nothing” approach to a game. If achieving “everything” on that scale will start to destroy your out-of-game life, dont you think that besides a person in question having some issues (OCD is an issue), also the game tailored in such way is not “working as intended”? You could also say that cigarettes are 100% working as intended and all that is bad in them is a fault of people who are smoking them. But really? I would not share such approach. Corps who produce and do everything to sell as much of their cigarettes as they can are not fine. That being said, system which in some way encourages you to spend half of each day grinding your one-time-only dailies (hey look, you will gain more AP and rewards!) is bad. If it is not designed with some moderation, it becomes bad like a drug and the only cure for a drug is to stop using it for good.
If you quit playing you stop gaining Daily AP. So why not just not do Daily AP or just do 5/5 and not quit? Less AP, Less stress, but still gaining AP and daily reward. :o If you have OCD so bad that your brain is incapable of allowing such a thing as that then go get yourself some medicine.
tbh just cause they’re ascended (or especially cause they’re ascended) they should still salvage to a chance at ectos~ at least the ones that drop as reward. Dark Matter as well, they should still be treated as Exotic + ascended materials. Most exotics fail-salvage anyways and give none so I don’t see why not.
(edited by Doggie.3184)
Leaderboards serve no purpose really. XD It just wants you to think it does.
I just do 5 things total (either pve or pvp) to complete the daily and I’m fine from there.
Looking forward to seeing legendaries in pvp, since that means you can put it onto any character!
Legendary with no stats. I guess you’d have to skin it onto an exotic or ascended weapon but I wonder if it’d have the stat swap function. :o
