Green Moa Paddock is a slightly hidden place in Caledon inside a big treestump. It’s a pretty cool, peaceful spot.
I’ll throw in Crystal Cavern since it’s amazing looking. It’s hidden at the end of an underground water tunnel that’s covered by tree branches.
Then there’s the super amazing Super Adventure Forest. XD
If I find/remember any nice oasis-like places I’ll post them.

I rate this thread 1/10 just cuz I think it broke the text record.
The “Conclusion” is the only part worth reading just cuz it tells you the rest isn’t worth skimming over.
I really don’t get why the fanaticism on the hoods.
Two reasons, mainly.
1. Not everyone likes Ranger Masks. Unfortunately Anet added little variety for medium armor head pieces; totally neglecting GW1 Assassins. The Majority of them are Ranger Masks. They didn’t even add Assassin style masks, just pure ranger here, there, EVERYWHERE.
2. Assassins Creed established that to the world that Assassins in hoods = cool.
The Starter Hood and Headband are 2 of the best head piece skins for Thief. I have my bank fulla tranny’d ones in case I need in future.
As long as the character that you want to transfer it to wears medium armour, yup, and it’s very easy, all you need is an empty character slot and you can do it in less than 10 minutes!
- Create a new Thief, make sure that you chose “Anonymity” for the hood.
- Transmute the Anonymity Hood into a WHITE or BLUE item (IMPORTANT).
- Put the new “Account Bound” Anonymity Hood into your bank.
- Take it out on your other character and equip it (if it asks to soulbind, hit yes).
- Enjoy your new hood!
Done this twice and I’m sure I did it under 10 mins. when I get the hood on the mock character, it’s already soulbound, not account bound.
I’m very sad about this. I really wanted my hood back but I don’t want to remake my high lul thief.
Did you buy the white item from the TP? You need to make sure it’s tradable (the ones from NPC aren’t). Don’t try blue simply cuz I’m not sure it works so why bother, just use white.
When you transmute make sure you pick the skin you want and select the stats of the white item.

The problem with Thief is it’s a pubstomper that basically kills newbies easily because they don’t understand the profession well enough yet, and/or don’t know how stealth functions in this game compared to other MMOs. So they just get confused. Thief and Mesmers are both good at confusing newbies cuz their mechanics revolve around deception. Some will even stand there idle and oblivious with their heads tilted when you stealth and not even attempt to attack you.
Unfortunately they cry nerf instead of doing a little research, or their research leads them to other newbies crying nerf (there’s a lot of them) and gives the wrong impression.
I think they only play with those logos when they’re actually playing on the job and testing/checking stuff. Otherwise they’re incognito. ;o
Are Wizards allowed?
I just hate how the effect wears when blocked or evaded. I feel like the main thing it’s truly good for is spamming effects that proc via elite skill usage. :/
Not really a matter of skill or difficulty for me in this aspect.
I just don’t like spending 3+ hours in a dungeon.I don’t like your idea overall though, other than the “skilled, a good player, and require immense teamplay, strategies and preparation?” part.
You’re totally right, content should be very easy and I should be able to do it in under an hour without putting any effort into it.
Not really..
Why play if you are just going to hit a number of skills in every situation and win, there is less fun to be had in easy content than in a challenge.
I came here to have fun, not to impress a random stranger and show the world how awesome I’m when playing a game.
Also, many people have families, REAL FRIENDS, business in the real world so, a single dungeon lasting for 2-3 hours may be much; if you are seriously about hardcore content, then 1 single AFK should be the doom of the whole party, no kitten like “lets wait for him” or “lets just get going without him”.
If not, then we will just have more of the same and people will come here asking for a more hardcore content. Some peoples idea of fun is a challenge and not sitting there brain dead mashing 1 and then occasionally every other skill with no thought put into it. Believe it or not I think content should require tactics.
(gasp)
Not sure when I said that but whatever dude.

Yeah, if I’m in a small town and get attacked by enemies, I can’t just undress in front of them and put on my armor. I need to be able to fight in town outfit.
218 Fractals before getting bored and stopping. I just did Lv. 30 Dailys.
I’ve found the Scepter and Longbow.
Pistol/Dagger is a cool looking set but it feels so awkward overall. Condition build has always been the main reason to use it, but when I’m running that there’s never a time where I felt the need to use Shadow Strike.
If someone was close it was better to CnD them and Sneak Attack, which does the same DMG as it+bleed. Since condition DMG revolves around the Sneak Attack you would generally stay close to mid-range of enemy, not shadowstep away,
Body Shot lacking use makes the weapon set even worse.
Anyone ever try P/D differently or non cond, or is it just too flawed in design?
Character bound dailys would be a nightmare.
I have 3 and 1/2 80s and don’t mind. I bought Necklace for main and the cat tonic. XD
Da Quaggan Yu talkin’ Bout? Anet Adores Warriors and Guardians more than anything.
but I like kittens. :<
I don’t like the Dreamer or Quip much, mainly the Quip since the Dreamer is at least horrifying as hell for a weapon.
Luckily Incinerator and Bolt are my 2 favorite Legendarys. I choose Incinerator though and don’t have the drive to go for another one, plus you can’t offhand sword so it gets less use outa different builds. 2 Incinerators are a bad idea imo, cuz at any moment they could release a new awesome dagger that I’d rather off-hand instead.
I’ve tried Spiked Armor in PvE on warrior and literally never noticed it proc anything so often wondered if mobs actually can ever crit.
It’s amusing and all but I don’t favor this method of implementing new emotes.
Just a simple /dance1 /dance2 is enough imo. Give a better guide or method for syncing emotes instead.
Use a condition remover.
You take damage when you use a condition remover.
So you either: A) remove confusion when you only have a few stacks, taking very little damage, but risking that the mesmer has more stacks available or B ) remove confusion when you’re sure the memser has expended all stacks and pray it doesn’t kill you.
OP is talking about bleed.
Well he’s comparing bleed to confusion, which a lot of us are arguing isn’t even a remotely fair comparison. But fair enough, pardon my mistake.
He’s sadpanda cuz of confusion nerf, which is technically just a mesmer nerf. He wants to nerf all condition dmg builds across the board to vent his anger and fulfill his revengence upon the world, which isn’t rational. It also makes him a meanie, imo.
Stealth is fine.
With the exception of 4s reveal and any future nerfs, it’s fine.
People just get too angry when a Thief loses and runs away from them successfully. They might be mistaking Shadow Step for stealth though. Cuz Thief staying with you in stealth and continuing to fight you just leaves way too many counter options.
There’s been exactly 220,053 moments and 1/2 when I swung my weapon or used a skill and saw a downed Thief magically appear afterwards.

Welcome to the life of a Medium armor class.
Something that’s been in dire need of visual buffs for the longest.
Probably not. Anets always offered rewards exclusive to their unique yearly events that never return a 2nd time. Highly doubt they’ll change that custom but who knows.
Use a condition remover.
So what I’m getting from the counter argument is humanity just isn’t intelligent enough to handle GW1’s in-depth skill system… /sigh. Why couldn’t we of evolved from dolphins or something?
It would be nice to be able to remove the skills useless to my build on Thief and replace it with one that’s actually useful to it.
The damage is icky for PvE. ;s
I could never leave my Thief. He’d be so lost and lonery w/o me.
If everyone quit who’d test all the Thief bugs when there’s no developers to.
Oh sorry about the no paragraphs. Was typing it on my phone during a boring class. Wasn’t paying attention. Also someone mentioned my build. It is 10/0/20/20/20, sorry about the typo. Glad to see some discussion on the topic.
Please don’t fidget around with your phone during class, or while driving. Or while in the Mens room.
I, Doggie, am currently still waiting for Guild Halls.
Quick question Colin – are we still able to kill people doing the puzzle? Or is this gonna be a pve area?
Kill away! It’s still very much a WvW map, just its own map now. It’s all growsed up.
Good cuz JP PvP is by far the sexiest. Maybe SPvP needs a giant Eternal BGJP-like map.
I have a major concern about Southsun though. Will you guys by chance ever add more Turtles and Turtle related events?
There’s a couple positively evil asura mesmers known as the Cheshire Twins that reside in the EB JP. Thank gawd they are on our side <3
One of the main reasons I do not go for a legendary or even care to visit those JPs. I simply do not have time to try to work through an area filled with pock faced teenagers who think it is hilarious to sit and troll all day.
Some of the design decisions in this game are ridiculous. WvWvW crossing over into PvE rewards is just the tip of the iceberg.
Ehh, I got into EBJP PvP because of my work towards the Incinerator and found myself staying there even after opening the chest just to kill people and help others through. It’s fun. Now I’m using that Incinerator to kill people. It’s a PvP+PvE weapon. It’s just an option anyways. you can always shoot arrows into zergs for medals.
I don’t understand what they were thinking? A Thief’s best skill steal just got nerfed and they wont admit it!
It kinda makes sense.
We steal items and now steal health and boons.
Need more things to steal. Like stealing 100 blades, limbs, pants, etc.
This extra stealing only applies to 1 trait and a weapon set though. Need more stealing on every weapon set. We also need reverse pick-pocketing. I wanna reverse pickpocket deadly venoms and bombs into peoples’ pants.
That’s a very touching song.
Wow, only a week away? Awesome. I’ve been eagerly awaiting new content for Southsun!
Also, I spy a crab backpack in one of those screenshots.
I just noticed that Karka Backpack too <3!!
I hope I get the luxury of having one eating my spine as well.
You guys sure thats a backpack? and not just an awesomely placed facehugger/headcrab?
As a person who often go to Southsun, I have to confirm this is not a Karka backpack, but one of those Karka Hatchlings that attach you to your body to cause some condition.
Either way they have to add one now Or a hermit crab backpack.
Thus far every event has included a backpack. -.-
I want to start my own deer farm!
I’ll get to breed my white stag then and have an army of them
They act like stealth is a toggle that activates for as long as you want it to. I find it to be a very strange thing to add. Why not just use damaging AOE traps instead of making traps that target a specific class?
Will there be traps that lock Warriors from swinging their weapons while in it?
…signet of shadow’s passive can cause a 1 second blur effect every 10 seconds in combat that evades anything instead.
Then I wont have to worry anymore.
The movement speed is a big plus during combat. It is a major advantage that allows for quick positioning and flanking.
Just leave this skill as it is. If you really want something different, then suggest to Anet to add a skill that does exactly what you want it to do.
I should correct it~ perma swiftness + 25% movement speed on lvl 5 passive.
I just want speed cap at all time with no effort or utility slots needed.
Is that too unreasonable?

Of course you cannot deny you secretly want this signet’s active to be a blinding, massive aoe flame blast that does 10k dmg at its weakest and it instastomps while giving you 10 seconds of stealth. Why are you guys looking at me? That’s perfectly balanced……
I actually miss the Ranged Immobilize it used to do. They shoulda buffed it to be range immobilize + aoe blind instead. :P

Acrobatic’s Lvl 5 passive should just give permanent swiftness at all times and signet of shadow’s passive can cause a 1 second blur effect every 10 seconds in combat that evades anything instead. Then I wont have to worry anymore.
Slingshot .

Hey, Snow.
Yay finally some Southsun action.
Why don’t they put the info on official page first. -.-
It is worth it unfortunately and practically required for D/D.
I hate Signet of Shadow~ It’s like a curse.
Unless you wanna spec for high endurance and roll everywhere as if you were playing Ocarina of Time, or simply don’t care about traveling fast or being able to stay on target.Acrobatics isn’t the only way to get swiftness, you can also get it from Trickery. If you’re not actively engaged in combat, just swap SoS in for travel, if you’re actively engaged in combat you aren’t going to catch anyone without swiftness anyways. There’s no reason to rely on SoS as a crutch 24/7.
Not being at speed cap as Thief in WvW gives such a dirty, disgusting feeling. :<
Full Apothecary buld with 0 0 30 20 20 + food that stack might on dodge (keep up 12-14 stack from stealth and dodges) + caltroops on dodge and P/D set.
Woks if your group do not overstack bleeding.
That build will give you enough heal to survive almost everything and medium cond damage from bleed.
You won’t die and can rez everyone but the damage isn’t anything impressive. Full Apothe is also overkill, as 6 armor pieces alone are enough to turn you immortal. I’d suggest using Carrion weapons and trinkets.
I just go with Shadow Arts zerker/soldier D/D and blast everything nowadays though.

Please don’t make videos with awful dubstep music. ;/
Thieves have constantly been standing up since forever. :/
There are no devs that main Thief though so we have no one to relate to us.
I didn’t get a precursor after buying it.
Either way it isn’t true.
I’m ready for new weapon skills for Thief.
