OK, this sound bug needs to go ASAP.
Just been 30 mins at Jormag – and while I’m at it, please look into the Corrupted Ice Shield which seems bugged in going down kitten slowly…
Anyhow, towards end of event, I get the alarm sound bug twice.. once I managed to log back in time to continue fight, but the second time the fight was over when I relogged… ofc, no chest!
Sort out this bug asap, kitten annoying and blocking issue!
A jug of liquid karma gives 6750 under the 2 boosts people generally use, so you can still play your alts towards dailies/monthlies and give those to your main – all the while earning karma as you level your alt.
Since it’s soulbound – and should remain that way since it’s character-based “karma” – it doesn’t make sense to deposit in bank as only one char will ever withdraw it again. And as you can derive from this, I’m not supporting karma becoming account-bound.
Just thought about how A.net could implement something to make lodestones and other coveted rewards more frequent to drop.
Bring back challenge missions from GW1, with ladder ranking and the option for a solo player to master some kind of time-based/goal-based, repetitive and scaling dungeon that has mobs dropping lodestones.
Of course, it’s probabaly a big thing, but the challenge missions in GW1 were fun and varied… remember raiding the Corsairs of Dajkah Inlet, thrashing the sands as a worm, or fending off destroyers from baby dragons. Would be nice to get something similar in GW2 – of course no need for hero armor drops, which is why you could instead get lodestones and other rare mats.
Name Change contract has been in TP since October or so btw
According to Gaile Gray this is coming, we just don’t have timeline for it yet. So maybe Anet could quench our thirst and let us know roughly?
I’m very ready for total makeover, but not before I know name change is just around the corner.
Are there any plans to add these as drops from the standard dungeons too? Might serve as incentive to do those again. Currently everyone’s only going Fractals or you got the odd groups going Arah/CoF/CoE…
Like the example above, my guild’s guild lord on Seafarer’s Rest got hacked and the hacker emptied his own bank, the guild bank and even went so far to destroy stuff like his dungeon tokens, etc… pure sabotage.
Generally, someone that’s going to hack accounts isn’t going to waste their own time. They’re going to take what they can get and leave. They may even hope the account is recovered without changing the password, so they can do it again. What that sounds like is someone shared their account and the other person stole it.
A hacker would have used the tokens though, to forge/salvage/sell.
That could be what the hacker did with the tokens, but he/she didn’t just login, wreck havoc and leave, he/she stayed online, many of our guildies saw him online and knew the guild leader himself was not.
But they did not want to flame/anger him in fear he might disband the guild and we would lose absolutely all progress.
I’ve got a screenshot of our guild bank log of the incident if Anet ever need proof.
The only way a hacker is going to have any idea which accounts are guild leaders is if they’re in your guild. Barring that, guild leaders can’t be specifically targetted, but they should certainly put more emphasis on proper security measures.
I agree with you on that.
What about hanging around LA listening to guild recruit officers? Check out a guild website, you can find out the guild leader in no time. That’s just off the top of my head, so if I can think of something very easy it must be straight-forward for a hacker too.
Arena.net, are you aware that guild lords and commanders are generally targeted by account hackers?
Like the example above, my guild’s guild lord on Seafarer’s Rest got hacked and the hacker emptied his own bank, the guild bank and even went so far to destroy stuff like his dungeon tokens, etc… pure sabotage. Of course, you’ve got character roll-back, but what about our guild’s assets that got robbed?
There’s a log even so you would be able to see all that got withdrawn, which would simplify restoration of stolen items. Our guild/server is in contention for top spot in EU in WvW and to have our guild bank robbed is a quite serious set-back.
I’m no guild lord in this guild, just a concerned guildie about why Anet don’t have these(restoration/backup/roll-back/log) things in place when clearly account theft/hacking is a big issue in most MMOs these days.
Looks like you transmuted your Legendary down a level, so it’s not quite a bug as much as a user mistake. But I hope Anet can help you, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up.
Doesn’t make sense to not have WP to Lion’s Arch free for PvE when everyone can get there for free anyway either by going through Mists (PvP) or Battlegrounds (WvW).
It would probably lighten the load on Mists/Battlegrounds because you’d get rid of all those just using those areas for transit. Though I think Mists has the majority of travel because it’s instant w/o queues. But anyway, getting to LA is free once you’re done for the day in WvW.
Since there are so many similar armour models in the game within each category, it would be a really great feature if you could for example transmute the looks of a light or medium armor piece onto a heavy armor piece, while of course restricting so that you keep the stats/etc. of the armor type you’re bound to wear due to your class.
E.g. allowing guardians to wear robes or coats, engineers to plate up, magicians to look heavy, etc.
Don’t know how technically challenging it would be, or maybe you could bring back the costume function of GW so that you can wear a costume set instead of your class/stat armor. E.g. thinking of those cool costumes you could buy for GW, like the Vision of Lyssa, Augur of Kormir, Dragonguard, Aegis of Unity, etc.
PUGs are subject to bad apples and rage quitters… had 2 groups in Fractals 1 suffer the same last night. The fact that we completed level 1 as a novice 4-man group goes to show the idiot who left was probably the one without skill.
Story mode can be soloable, but the grinding of explorables should be left to groups. It’s an MMO after all.
Myst, I’ll play CM with you, I need 180 tokens there myself, and some people in my guild will go there too. But maybe the fact that CM gets neglected is a sign to Anet it needs to revamping to be made more attractive.
I was wondering why the stuff you buy from Miyani can’t be account bound, instead of soulbound?
If I work on legendary for my main, I’d like the chance to e.g. buy the eldritch scroll for skill points bought on one alt, and perhaps crystals bought on another alt.
Anyone see any problems with these being account bound instead of soulbound?
So I just assembled a 5 man for Fractals of the Mist level 11 using gw2lfg.com and not a single one of us were in overflow… so no play.
At the same time you wrote this I formed a group with a 2/3 split, so I don’t think there’s a change yet. Probably lucky stroke.
Have they actually confirmed tengu? Cause there was a rumor pre-release that Anet was prohibited from making any more Cantha content. That rumor extended to say that the big sinkhole section of Divinity’s Reach was originally meant to be the Cantha district, and had to be changed. Thus every region except Cantha is represented there.
Prohibited, why? Have I missed some legal dispute story?
While I won’t mourn missing Cantha which was my least favourite place in GW1, it’d be a shame if they’re not allowed to add some legacy of it in GW2.
Rather hoping Elona makes it back into the world and Palawa Joko and his undead army.
“Bloody double-tap dodge…”
Heard once or twice in Mad King’s Tower, Uncategorized Fractal and similar locations, until you disable it. Then, later, “dodge, dodge, dodge, why the frak won’t you dodge!?” during a fight and you realise you’ve disabled it…
While name change is a must, race and profession changes are understandably much trickier to implement.
What should they do if you’ve bought cultural stuff for a race and you change race? Refund? Swap for cultural armor of same tier of your newly chosen race? What with everything else you’ve got that might be unusable if you swap profession (armor, weapons, etc.) – what to do, just make them soulbound but unusable?
Sellable, salvageable?
A lot of points to consider for race/profession changes, whereas the name change is probably inbound in very short time as I don’t see any complications around that. Everyone’s ID by their account name anyhow, so a name change probably won’t affect much – other than name reservation policy.
By changing- do you get to reserve your old name 24 hours, longer? What if you buy (ok, it’s weird scenario) 100 name change contracts and rename your char 100 times in succession?
Does anyone have any solid figures on population in different servers or is this “growing”/“declining” just subjective depending on the author’s outlook?
Show me numbers and graphs.
Alternatively – Anet, just up the rewards from your dungeons to be on par with Fractals… I think the Fractals are damn boring once you’ve done all the different types, and am more for doing dungeons if the rewards/drops were increased to be equal.
I see the +1 “good answer” button, where’s the -1 “bad idea” button I wish to push reading this thread…
Looking forward to either of these two races becoming playable, if they do at all. Maybe the huge Jan/Feb updates bring one of them already seeing as they should be bigger than the three Oct-Dec updates combined. Smells like lots of new areas coming.
Hope Kodan come before Tengu though, if I could choose freely
Maybe Anet could just turn off the Commander marker working anywhere else than in WvW?
If you want to show your guildies where you are, shift-click a waypoint and post in your guild chat. Other than that, I ignore a Commander icon in PvE as it does not concern me in this setting.
Council Commendations seem like taken straight out of GW1 with all its commendations/trophies that could be exchanged for stuff at the right type of vendor. Hope this one stays past Wintersday, and that more are added in the future, hint hint all those junk trophies need to be collected and exchangeable for cool gear, and not just money
Nicholas and Mr. Yakkington may be dead and gone, but maybe an heir could take up work in Tyria
While I hope your computer gets fixed, this should pose no issue to Arena.net. They make sure event rewards are present and achievable, regardless of whether it takes 5 minutes or an hour, but it’s the player’s own responsibility to provide a machine that meets the games requirements.
Please no “flaming” of Arena.net if a reward is missed because your machine is too poor to run the game reliably.
Em, I hope they figured out the POI will complete if they only swim over that top and down and into the cave… this is in Kessex Hills and isn’t bugged at all.
Notice the little down-arrow on the POI in the screenshot, it’s not on the level where you are in the screenshot. Swim into that cave and you’ll find both the Krait Witch and the point of interest.
Ive gotten this bug twice with tequatl, and in the last week about 7-8 times with jormag.
Same here, it seems that big, world events where there’s a lot of stuff going on in the vicinity, it’s nearly like the audio system gets an OD and bails out. Game keeps working fine afterwards for me, I just have to mute GW2 in my volume mixer (if I’m in an event where a client restart is out of the question because you don’t want to miss out or crash a party – re: “Fractals Disconnect Issue resetting group”, I’m looking at you, kiddo!!).
Hopefully just something to do with collision/memory leak/fault when number of simultaneous sounds exceed some limit, perhaps?
Done your WvW too?
You can get all the pieces of the PvP Conquest Armor in their PvE equivalents from various zones like Fireheart Rise, etc.
But the helmet of this set is nowhere to be found in PvE – Anet, can you please add this into the game?
For sure the model exists, it’s there in PvP and also on lots of your medium-armored Lionguard NPCs.
Can hardly be difficult to add into a karma vendor inventory?

Since Paragon is baked into Guardian, I’d much rather see us get Spear as land-weapon… well, you’re allowed to dream, aren’t you?
Can be used both ranged and in close combat.
Yep, 15 second delay so that such cowardly behaviour won’t pay off. It’s a game, you’ve got to be able to win some and lose some, you can be a bad loser even if you want, but “cheating” by logging/d-c is just lame.
They should give you a bunny/kitten costume buff that lasts 24 hours so everyone can tell you’re a cheat.
Just make sure it doesn’t turn into that mindless Dragonvale app/game, so that every special event will bring its own themed dragon…
Would that be a ‘Cha(i)rman’?
Aren’t they Charr already sufficiently humanoid to make it unnecessary with yet another cross-breed? Plus lore-wise you’d have quite a conundrum to make it all fit without all-out war breaking out.
/signed, seconded, +1 whatever.
Definitely would make it feel more creative than just another Vet xxx something or Champion yyy something…
I have played betas with less bugs than this game. Do the developers understand auto target should not target some mobe on the other side of a wall, in a different screen? I want my money back. This game totally blows.
Obviously not played many games then. Kind of rude asking for your money back after investing probably 500+ hours worth in the game… realise how petty you sound?
Yes, while I agree that appearance/rarity of Tier 3 cultural armor should remain like top-tier, exclusive armor that should require a lot of effort and be tough to get, the current prices and cost divide is way too high from Tier 2 to Tier 3. At least cut costs by 40-50% or make it possible to purchase through Karma, e.g. 250K, or such.
RP as Jules The Warrior, he/she is a bit gender-confused until the name change comes along
It’s been mentioned before, I think, but regardless of that there’s an item in the db called ‘Name Change Contract’ so something must surely be in the works. That item appeared there in October or so.
Guess the issue behind why it’s not yet featured must be related to the operation of the actual name-change in-game. When Anet has forced it due to banned words/black list it’s been one thing, but now it will be able to happen lots of times, by lots of characters… how do they treat 24 locks? What if you buy 10 name changes and change your name 10 times? All those names locked? Etc. etc.
Any news on when this item will make it to the gem store? Should have come together with the makeover kits, really.
So appearance re-modeling is in place, but what about name change? It’s a bit odd if “Brave Sir Knight” comes out a female after a make-over and has to keep “his/her” old name…
Please rush the Name Change Contracts out too in the store, on guildwars2.com right now you’re stating “Makeover and More”, but surely that’s false advertising right? There’s only 2 new items in the gem store, both related to makeover. There’s nothing “more” just yet
Yep, she’s just a turret now… not very interesting, and never got to check her karma vendor items
Good job, Anet, now add the Name Change Contracts too so that we can change our character names.
The game is only 3 months old. You expect too much. Goodbye.
Only, it should read, you demand too much, nothing wrong with expecting and anticipating things…
But again, the game is still so young, and Anet are not showing signs of not trying to fix stuff, so I think they deserve some credit and patience.
But nonetheless, I also hope to see bug fixes to dungeons, class imbalances, missing gear, etc. in the near future. Definitely that over more, new content.
Not sure where this goes on the forum, but would like to notify developers of this – it should be an easy fix to put back in.
For a game that’s claiming the importance of appearance of items, I call it a bug that the PvP Conquest armor set is missing the helm/headpiece from the PvE equivalent set you get as Karma gear from Fireheart Rise.
Why should only all your medium-armored Lionguard NPCs get to wear it…
Yes, but you’d assume that any levelled upgrade item could be argued to have a higher level than one which doesn’t require minimum level and hence if an item doesn’t require upgrades of any level, then you can go ahead and use all kinds of upgrades on them, not just “un-leveled” upgrades?
In the interest of fairness and equality then, run for 24 hours and do the following:
1. Mail chest to those who got disconnected
2. Let those who do event get chest if not done on account before… Account, not char
3. Remove double, triple, quadruple rewards that some players got by relogging an alt and going to an overflow where event was still ongoing…
I feel that everyone here wants fairness so that all get loot, but i slso feel many posters here surely are loot kittens from category 3 above who semi-exploited this event and are greedy to grt more exos/precursors… Have no sympathy for them and would like for Anet to remove their excess loot too if they are going to mail out rewards to those that got disconnected/missed it.
So, it wasn’t part of this update, Anet any statement on when this will become available?
Kinda regretting my main’s name
After relogging and retrying story, I managed to complete it this time, so it’s an infrequent bug.
