Not sure if this is the place for it; if a dev sees this, maybe you could open a “[Suggestions] Weapons & armor types” thread for new items that would be nice to add.

I’d just like to request that the heavy armor players gets a helm similar to the top tier Triumphant Hero for light armor; a plumed helmet of the sort Sir Alonne or Artorias wears, etc.

Again; the stress test is held at the time of day when most Anet devs are at work and can respond to results from the stress test during work hours. It’s nothing about tailoring to one base of the player population or another. The point of the stress test is not for players to be entertained and see new events or areas – but for the developers to see how the xpac content (mounts, events, etc.) copes performance-wise under large groups of players participating.

Out of all the Nightfall heroes, my money is on us seeing Razah again.

To your question; intent on killing doesn’t mean you automatically will succeed, perhaps if Livia considered not surviving the confrontation, she would at least protect any possible children she might have. If you’re facing your nemesis/adversary and they ask you if you have children, would you blurt out their names and address so they could go to finish them off too in case you didn’t make it?

Yes, and so did Ascension for PvPers. You couldn’t technically do it in one PvP season so it was minimum 8 weeks,more like 12 weeks and then you even had a month break between the seasons. At least in WvW you’re playing and always making progress,not being barred by stupid time-gating.

If you’re following a commander who’s on TS so should you for greater coordination.

If you’re just roaming in a smaller group, you should at least pay attention to team/map chat and ensure you come to aid commander if they need for a kittenault/defense… because there’s nothing more irritating than having full map and not a full squad and losing an important objective (defend garri, capture keep) because some roamers wanted to capture a camp and took away from potential squad numbers…

OK, are we really sure we can state that so matter-of-factly? I’ve not seen it as explicitly confirmed anywhere, or maybe you can direct me to it? Because, sure enough, here is Balthazar all of a sudden in the latest episode, so while the Gods left all that time ago, where did they go to? Could they not have been in a place of proximity which allowed them to be exposed?
Regarding Balthazar’s exposure to Primordus in setting up his assault on him, it makes sense what you underline the Elder Dragons somehow cannot consume or absorb the Gods’ magic.

Yes, I’m aware of its possible forms, but the way it is stated, and the way you would expect Balthazar to describe his strife with his half-brother, would it not be more plausible to have him describe that power struggle as ‘he’… I mean, how often do you run around saying ‘they’ when it’s really one adversary + his minions/army.

When faced with Scarlet and her army, would you not have described it as going to war on her, rather than use the term ‘they’. The Shadow Army, in similar respect, is nothing without its commander, Menzies, which is why I feel Balthazar should have been referring to his opponent as ‘him’, if it was really him.
I guess I’m placing too much emphasis on some choice of words if other things point to Balthazar’s old adversary; and maybe even “dimmed my light” could be a direct, blatant clue to namely the shadow army right there?

His lack of caring about Tyria is rather proof that the other gods are not working with him, I’d say, given that Lyssa, Dwayna, and Melandru (and very likely Kormir and possibly Grenth) would all very much care about Tyria and its inhabitants – far more than the potentially xenophobe Balthazar.

Though, possible unaware what might be the use of her mirror, Lyssa seems to be involved to some extent, either having given some consent to or been lied to by Balthazar, because as a human mesmer you learn from interacting with the broken mirror that. However, I somehow doubt how Lyssa would fall for a lie.. maybe another God, but not her.

The design contains Lyssa’s signature sigils, indicating that it was hers. She must have helped Balthazar for some reason known only to her.

I think yellow hair should slowly form then on the last might stack, there’s an animated shock wave around the Guardian with full yellow hair that lasts until the Might wears out.

It’s a long shot but I think the community would really enjoy it.

The animation should be increased to at least 10 hours as well and screaming audio effect added. All enemies on the map should be dazed and immobilized for the duration as well, waiting for the Guardian to finish casting.

It makes sense to me. Especially if you assume that the reason the gods of tyria left is because the dragons were waking up. Then, having the dragons be the ones “dimming his light” is quite plausible.

There’s no point in assuming since we had direct confirmation that the gods left Tyria not because of the dragons, but because of Abaddon.

Besides, they left over a thousand years before the dragons even began to stir.

Yes, they left a long time before the Elder Dragons even began to stir (again), but as we’ve also had confirmed, “the human gods still exist, and their power is still felt within Tyria.”

What if their lack of presence meant their power still being present was being consumed as the Elder Dragons began to stir. Balthazar’s choice of words indicate his oppressors are plural; and I doubt he’d talk about Menzies and the Shadow Army as ‘they’ but rather ‘he’…

The way the Elder Dragons are consuming magic and reducing the presence of it in the world, could it not be a case that a consequence of the way the Elder Dragons function, this also affects the Human Gods, Balthazar possibly being the first God who has taken up arms in an effort to restore himself… We have no indication whether the other 5 are similarly weakened, and whether Balthazar acts alone or as part of their plan. He even says Tyria is of no concern to him; he doesn’t care if it blows up due to the death of the Elder Dragon because at least he will have his power and can “move on” to wherever the Human Gods would go?

Simply speculating; it’s just Balthazar’s wording of how he has been weakened that makes me think it’s rather the obvious answer about the Elder Dragons rather than yet another force we have not yet heard anything about so far… though expecting more revelations in the upcoming episode.

I do have to agree regarding Bitterfrost, anything I need to do in that map I have to stock up on stealth packs, or use my thief.

I am curious about the Lake Doric one, when I do my dailies, especially regarding the unbound magic, for me its darn near impossible to find unbound magic.

Go to the garden for the magic peach, drop down to the water level and make one full circuit and you will get 19 unbound magic for the daily right there. It’s 2 dailies in 1.

“Playing” the game, more like. Necros afk in Bitterfrost and engis afk in Lake Doric… gw2 is turning into the afk farm fest that is BDO. I hope Anet does something about it; many players farming like this actually go idle… I’ve hung around some spots, tried to interact with those players and only a few ever respond…

All that said, I doubt they’re setting a stage for GW3 – they’re very clearly wanting to milk GW2 as long as possible (and reasonably so), and are now trying to leave the too-long-standing-in dragon plot.

Good, the sooner they park the Us vs. the slightly intangible Elder Dragons as antoginists, the better. GW2 story was turning into Edge of Destiny novel with

a) Elder Dragon threat rising
b) Heroes move to that area and defeat the ED
c) New Elder Dragon threat arises
d) Heroes move to next area and defeat the ED

Re-introduction of Gods who can have various agendas with the remaining Elder Dragons, other factions warring for control, gives them the opportunity to create various story lines dealing with more concrete issues; and where the reaction of the counter parts is less predictable. The Elder Dragons as gargantuan forces of nature/magic hellbent on consumption of magic and our destruction become kind of simplistic in their approach – where the main objective was to uncover their weakness then rush in and defeat them before they destroy us and Tyria.

Now there’s room for more complex stories where the consequence of the antagonist winning doesn’t necessarily spell the end of everything; but shifts in power/control. Which at least I hope is the direction things are going, with Dragon’s Watch suddenly taking on the custodian role to safeguard the ED’s existence in addition to keeping them under control.

And please for the love of God, I would be happy to hear no more talks of a GW3… there’s still so much potential for GW2 to grow and I can’t even fathom that Anet would even consider a GW3 themselves at this point.

Am I the only one that doesn’t like this “The Elder Dragons are there for a reason and we actually shouldn’t stop them from trying to kill us” deal we’ve been getting the lately. I get that having consequences both good and bad to any actions we take is a good thing for story telling but I can’t help but think that this was a bad direction for Anet to go with. I miss when the dragons were Lovecraftian level eldritch abominations that were going to eat the world rather than being the pillars that support the world that also happen to wipe out all life every few millennia.

I for one, would appreciate a shift in focus because I’ve never really liked the Elder Dragons as main villains of the GW2 story. Whatever LS1 lacked in storytelling, at least we had a definitive villain (Scarlet) to focus on twarting/defeating, and I feel again the same with LS3; with Caudecus and later Lazarus (the Impostor), we again were matched up against a more “human” villain who had more diverse motives and actions rather than the chaotic nature that the Elder Dragons have shown so far, which basically made GW2 story so far seem like the really mundane Edge of Destiny novel…

Didn’t the Destroyers live just fine without Primordus being awake back in Eye of the North? He was stirring, but iirc Primordus didn’t stir/awake until the final cinematic, after we had killed the Great Destroyer champion?

No promises and it would strike a huge spark of imagination and excitement in the player base. As more elements were in place,they could drop another concept article or such. Remember befire GW2 launch and all those fantastic articles. Stuff to get excited about whether lore, bestiary, location, heck even mechanics if they are 100% sure about its workings at the time. Right now though i just feel famished and in a pressred MMO market that means leaking players; I’ve even been away to BDO for a bit and apart from a horrible RNG progression model it nearly got me over GW2 but here i am again back since a month or two ago. But i would honestly have rather not have to put GW2 down in the first place.

I know it’s probably futile to ask but there is so little communication from Anet about the state of the game or its direction, I’ve seen more articles over at Age of Conan or Secret World and they’re practically dead.

GW2 is live and kicking; SAB right now and in the middle of LS3 (i presume) and an xpac in the works; but where and when are things going to happen?

Yes I’m happy to pass judgment on the content you do indeed serve up, but you have built this dumbfounding wall between you developers and us your biggest fans. I know you burned yourself on making promises before, but considering you’re releasing a product into a market, wouldn’t it be better to get some feedback on some elements of your process. Of course not everything because you want to surprise us with creativity,innovation and unique ideas and are fully entitled to keep quiet. It’s just, in the long run that’s rarely helpful and right now player base is suffering in PvP and WvW and even PvE are restless due to in frequency of updates.

So, what’s up and when do we get to hear something?

I believe Maclaine already left, or was never employed, but hired as freelance. But yes, I hope they will use his talents again when time comes for xpac2, etc.

Maybe they could have an option to enter the raid as a 10-man group who initiate a “carebear” mote to make it a story-focused raid.

“carebear” (jokingly called such, meant as polar opposite to “challenge” – so “casual” or “safe”) mote should then make all monsters no stronger than what you find in open world zones. I.e. leave all encounters in, but make all monsters/bosses “elite” lvl 82/83 at best. The upside is everyone can still practice fun encounters and still overcome a slight challenge to get to experience the story.
The rewards should also be adjusted accordingly, i.e. in “carebear” mode, you get none of the exclusive raid rewards or achievement items. Bosses drop some champion boxes with rare/exotics as best possible outcome.

How would people like that? (and don’t get too caught up on my naming of the mode)

• Skyhammer will be added to Ranked Arena on a trial basis.

We haven’t seen the “real destroyers” yet either. These are basically just empowered weakling destroyers.

They’re not, I checked back with the old destroyers and they burnt me more than the new ones did. The new ones can be killed without even considering using your heal skill

Maybe Primordus just unlocked his specialization tree and has to fully trait the new Mordremoth line to achieve strong, green destroyers… the weak destroyers we’re seeing now is like running a specialization with only the first trait unlocked

If anything, nerf DH longbow #5… if they want to camp a cap and sit in all their traps, fine, but don’t give them that godkitten nobrain skill to just reel everyone into those traps. Staying out of range on DH traps, you range them down in no time, they’re butter, esp to condis once they’re out of cleanses..

Now is the time to use PvP LFG tool and get a 5-man Capricorn group together. Had no problems getting majority of Capricorn games last night with 5+ people voting for Capricorn, ofc the fluke with Coliseum winning even when it was 7-3 favour of Capricorn, but hey, that’s map voting for you…

Yes, it was always the case it would go away at the end of PvP League Season 4, October 3rd. All the discussion now arose because the new PvP map (Eternal Coliseum) got added 2 days ago and suddenly Capricorn never got selected in the map rotation any longer.

Yea, it helps a lot it’s pinned but I still have to play so many Coliseum matches where Capricorn had 6-7 votes…

edit: which is fine, because now at least Capricorn shows up, but I know that getting a group together I’m just as likely to get Capricorn selected as the other. Time-limited achievements are not a problem here, the deadline was always October 3rd and if you didn’t pay attention, you’re missing out. But the addition of the Coliseum map 2 weeks ahead of that date changed the mechanic of map selection and made it impossible to finish the achievements. THAT was what all the commotion was about.

Ok, just tried my intention from earlier, team up with 3 other Capricorn players (couldn’t find a 5th) and on 1/3 maps Capricorn showed up, and the vote was tied 5/5 for it or Coliseum and ofc, it ended up on Coliseum… group fell apart because no one likes being so kittening triggered by a stupid design flaw that renders you unable to complete achievements that still last another 2 weeks…

This is similar to my hope; that the story won’t go on one dragon campaign after the other until all are dead, but also allow for the EDs that remain to realise what fate has met two of their “brethren”/adversaries, and despite hungering for magic/power, we will see either

a) two Elder Dragons assaulting Tyria on two fronts at the same time, OR….

b) a storyline where two Elder Dragons assault each other. We saw how the egg absorbed the energy after Mordremoth’s death, but if an ED kills another ED they might be present to absorb it to become even greater. And in between the fight of two EDs, the heroes come in and get thrown left and right more as bystanders who can sway a fight but ultimately not avoid that one ED consumes another. And so we’d have a twist to a story that didn’t just have us going tête-á-tête with yet another dragon and live to see another day.

Just pin it again for unranked, yes, there will be contention between the 2 pinned maps, but then you can team up and at least you should have 5 people voting for it.
When you’ve got two fun new beta maps in unranked, you don’t need more than 2 of the old core ones, NO ONE really wants to play those until end of PvP season 5 when both beta maps are gone again.

And if they do, it’s only to troll those wanting to play the new maps because if they really wanted to play the old, core maps they could simply queue for ranked.

Do they support the Mac client while it’s still in development?

The fact that this map is not pinned and the achievements are still live another 2 weeks makes me bump this as a bug report. Right now it’s completely RNG and near impossible to get this map. Hugh Norfolk is on the thread in the PvP forum, but time is ticking and I – and others – have yet to see Capricorn even as a candidate map in the map vote/selector.

I knew from the get go that the capricorn achievements were temporary but since you said it will be available only until season 4 ends, I am annoyed that you decided to add the colloseum achievements in conjunction with the capricorn achievements. You may as well have said that the capricorn achieves end yesterday because they’ve effectively become improbable to have matches on it with colloseum overshadowing it. It’s just injury to insult at this point.

Indeed, while I appreciate new PvP maps, I never though Eternal Coliseum would debut until they took Capricorn out on October 3rd… they could’ve easily held that one back for 2 weeks to let the Capricorn achievements be concluded in due time… now they have a situation where it’s impossible to manage any Capricorn achievements.

And yes, impossible, because even after 6 matches (e.g. 24 maps on display in map voting), Capricorn has not featured once.

Please pin Capricorn ASAP so that people can do that map now at end of Sept, and then we’ll be happy to play test Eternal Coliseum again come start of October.

i haven’t seen it on map selelection after patch for 5 games now. Probably bugged, hope they fix it soon only 2 weeks for capricorn achievements left

I double checked and Capricorn should appear even though it is no longer pinned in unranked.

Pin both, in unranked people mostly play these two maps the next 6 weeks so its only natural both are always possible to vote on in addition to two core maps.

Otherwise you’ll have lots of people never managing to get Capricorn; see all the posts about this map not showing up even once during play tonight… and then you even have to manage to get enough votes AND get lucky. It’s as if you don’t want people to complete the achievements the two, final weeks.

Avian mini pack… why’s that never come back?

Any chance of getting a wolf mini? I know there is Garm, but I’m thinking more like a generic wolf, grey and white ones like you’ve got the ranger pets, a bit like the bear minis.

Also – not just for gem store item suggestions, but would it be possible to make more plumed helmets with long hairs for the plumes.. not the Vigil helmet type, but think more along the lines of the following:
