people foolishly think warrior is easy mode due to high hp, oh but it’s not. you are just a target dummy outside of your stances. other classes have been getting super complex and versatile, while warrior still has to land incredibly telegraphed cc to do what is now only mediocre damage. most of warrior’s weapons could do with reworks, & fast hands & embrace the pain need to be baseline.

guardian is the true easy mode class. not that that’s a problem, all games need an easy class it just happens gw2 easy class is guardian.

Warrior has a pretty straightforward mechanic with very passive utilities, I’m fine with that, but it has to bring something to the table. The fact now that warrior is still being labeled as the “faceroll” profession when other professions are achieving much better results with less effort (not their fault though) tells you something is wrong.

If I’m playing a “faceroll” profession, why is everyone struggling to make it good?

none of the warrior mains i know are playing the class. they’ve moved to revenant or other classes. I’m only playing engineer right now. scrapper brings so much more than warrior can.

Revenant (or should I say Herald) is another good example. Herald feels more like a melee warrior and does the job better with superior damage, access to evades and team support via constant stacks of might. I don’t really want it nerfed because Revenant would be useless without Herald in pvp, I’m just using it as an example.

Some ANET Dev goes out to PVE on a warrior does 100 blades and says warrior is an easy class. I bet nobody in ANET has ever taken a warrior and tried to be competitive with it in high level PVP vs other skilled players on other professions. This has happened never. If they have that person has no input on warrior at their company or isn’t listened to.

Even if you’re just doing normal pvp with some friends, it still sucks lol. The berserker heal could’ve been an excellent addition because with the balthazar runes its a heal that does two extra stacks of burning with the right trait. However, a heal that has a horrible base heal and completely relies on you putting the pressure on the enemy makes it very unreliable.

I’m still questioning what the warrior role is supposed to be, it’s not reliable damage because dragonhunter, chronomancer and reaper are simply a better options, it’s not team support because there are better options from druid. Why take a gs warrior for damage when DH can do the same thing at range and provide aoe crowd control via traps with a more reliable burst? Warrior is supposed to be the faceroll profession, so why are we working so hard to try and make it work competitively with no results?

yes pls do something about elite spec…..ive tried and tried but nothing looks good on paper or in pvp (testing) vs non elite spec builds.

luckily my other toon is a DH, otherwise i would be gutted for spending money on expansion.

We’ve talked a lot about shoehorned traitlines and utilities, but look at this http://metabattle.com/wiki/MetaBattle_Wiki

You will quickly notice that it’s a week in the expansion and berserker is the only elite spec that does not have a viable build in meta, great or even good. There is one test build, that’s it. Even then, it’s melee only and dragonhunter bait.

First competitive scene since HoT launched and 0 berserkers were played, even daredevil has a build in the great category. If warrior is supposed to be the easiest to pick up, why is it so hard to make it viable competitively? I’m glad guardians, necros and rangers are getting some competitive play and I hope it stays like that after changes, but dragonhunter is so easy to pick up and play, which of these heavy professions is suppose to be faceroll again?

I’m using dragonhunters as an example because warriors are being labeled as easy mode when in reality, they have very little options and even their elite spec is not seeing any play. This needs to be fixed.

We’re not in charge of balancing the game, never have, we can only make suggestions. However, I do expect a class to be able to perform well.

yes, it’s just that some of these changes I read could instantly make warrior OP. i should take this less serious.

That’s a possibility, I can’t say for sure. The fact is though, that warriors need some kind of change, and I’d rather read a bunch of suggestions than to ignore the subject entirely.

We have a profession that is locked into two traitlines and two utilities, and there are alot of people like myself that are trying to look from all perspectives.

I think D/P thief still gets played, but daredevil is a little bit like berserker lol. Who knows, maybe they will buff DD first, but I would like to see more berserkers and daredevils xD

There are a lot of things in this game that need serious overhauls. DPS Warrior, especially Axe, Mace, Physical utilities, certain traits, Guardian’s Spirit Weapons and Signets, Thief’s Traps and possibly Venoms etc. Some things are so outdated you can’t just tweak them to make them viable, you need to rework them. I mean, you can always make everything do unreasonable damage, like with Dragonhunter, but that’s hardly a healthy solution. But let’s be honest, they’re not going to rework dozens of traits and abilities. It’s over. Time to give it a rest and just reroll.

They will fix warrior, or at least give it some viable options. If you want to reroll that’s fine, I’m not going anywhere lol

Seriously though — just play Reaper or Revenant.

It seems like the overwhelming majority of posters in this thread are unhappy with the Berserker. We have voiced our opinions and done our part. Our feedback has been posted here, in excessive amounts. When (if?) the devs decide to do another balance, pass they will look at this thread and hopefully address things.

Until then, don’t continue slamming your head into the wall.

There is a new expansion out there with an exciting new world. Give Reaper or Revenant a try. They both fill the “Warrior” archetype extremely well. Far better than the Berserker can. Come back and play Berserker when (if?) it is fixed. Playing it in its current state is just going to turn you off an otherwise great game.

I am having more fun than I ever have before on my new Revenant.

If anything, I’m hoping that if they see the numbers dropping as most classes played, maybe they’ll notice that somethings wrong. I don’t want to shelve my warrior, but I want to have fun, and I’m not having it as a warrior. So off to reaper I go.

0 berserkers were played in the first competitive scene since the expansion launch so that might be a good indicator. I believe it was the only elite spec not to be preented by anyone (there was one tempest)

We gotta keep this going if we want a change, warrior deserves to be great. Like I said before, this is NOT a thread slamming on reapers, dragonhunters or druids because I’m very happy rangers and necros are finally getting some competitive play.

Warriors need more options, there needs to be a reason why someone would choose to take a warrior/berserker over something like a reaper, chrono, scrapper, druid etc. and right now there just isn’t anything to justify that decision. 0 berserkers were played in competitive this week. When I build a reaper, I don’t feel forced to take particular utilities and/or traits, same with chronomancer. I can build a high dps or tanky chronomancer, again more options and versatility.

Some of warrior’s previous options maybe need to revert to their original state such as axebow, warhorn vonverting condis into boons, etc. just so we’re not forced to always take endure pain/berserker’s stance with defense and disipline. There’s been a lot of good suggestions here, hopefully we hear something soon.

Being “reverted” isn’t going to do much though, the game has power creeped so much that those old builds mean nothing in the current state of the game. Warrior needs inherent defenses built into the class so we’re not blatantly forced to slot defensive utilities (read: stances) just like the rest of the classes – rev is the most blatant example with every weaponset having some form of evade, block, and strong CC like chill.

What I meant by that is some of the original incarnations of mechanics might at least help benefit the class now more. For example, the warhorn converting conditions into boons. The original argument was that "converting conditions into boons is a “guardians job.” Fair enough, but what is a “warrior’s job”? because if it’s suppose to be spike damage, guardian is outclassing warrior in both damage and team support.

Losing adreneline on miss, originally this wasn’t so bad, but right now we’re even more reliant on it due to the mechanics of the berserker and getting the extra health. The burst on axe used to be more reliable to land too. No real banner traits is another issue too, I can understand having no infinite banner uptime, but more options for people who want to be a full on support would be great too.

They really need to fix this issue, I main my warrior for 3yrs now, I literally had to abandon the profession and go to another one just to be able to kill anyone in spvp.
It feels like fighting a raid boss that requires 20+ people on a 1v1 scenario when you’re up against any profession in spvp, excluding another berserk/warrior.
As if warriors had enough problems by being force to use specific trait lines to be useful.

Only way I see warriors able to come back is by
Improving healing, Adrenal Health(minor trait)
Fast Hands baseline can be nice as it would let you abandon the Discipline trait line and use better traits, opening more doors for your build as I like to call it.
Lowering the CD from berserker burst skills(while in berserk), bar fills up quickly but force to wait out the CD regardless to use it again, even with Smash Brawler trait.
Head Butt needs range increase from 180 to 300 or slightly little more as every profession has insane mobility now, they can just simply kite the kitten out of you,
aside from all that, I still feel like we’re force to either use the same stance skills or typical shout skill setup to even stand a small chance in a team fight, and even then a druid is a lot more useful than a shout build warrior, heck, every profession is better than warrior in every possible thing that they can do.

I just want my warrior back, to be viable, not some bubble walking to a pin party.

They will notice, in competitive there were 0 berserker’s played for the first big event this week, the only elite spec to not be played at all. Berserker could be deadly with the right adjustments, burning is very potent and the overall playstyle of berserker I really enjoy.

The issues lie within the traitlines, lots of things being needed baseline or adjusting. Before the june patch conditions were not as viable, afterwards not only did the condition damage increase, but overall power spike damage went up too. SHoutbow had a weakness to very high spike damage, but the warhorn could sometimes compensate for this with more regen and protection which was removed. Warriors then essentially became rampage bots, warriors themselves weren’t great, but popping rampage was a game changer and thus people brought warriors. Warriors cannot be a reliable tank or damage dealer, why would you take a melee gs warrior as your dps when you can have a dragonhunter that has both range, aoe via trapts and more options? Why would I take a tank warrior when chronomancers have more crowd control and options for survivability? A warrior’s tankiness comes down to their double endure pain.

If warrior could have received even the slightest up time on protection, health bonus, rolling healing, more utility, damage increase or SOMETHING berserker may be worth running but as it stands it is just the most unnessary spec to even consider. I can’t believe they went with 14% more ferocity over a power boost for example, every warrior knows that power scales far better than ferocity! Even to look at the berserker runes and see condi and power made want to throw up. That combination with such limited condi supply that requires you to be within 130 range of your opponent is useless. This means the only way you can make a somewhat decent condi build you would have to drop defense which would be fine if YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO ALWAYS BE WITHIN 130 OF YOUR EMENY TO DO DAMAGE! Give more skills like revenant where attacking=evade frames or blinds, kitten MAKE HEADBUTT AN EVADE FRAME. That thing is sooooo hard to land, i mean 180 range with horrible tracking! How could you ever justify this over rampage!?!?! So much needs to be done….

I agree, in all honesty I actually love the idea behind berserker, it just seems like half an elite spec right now compared to things like reaper or scrapper and even herald.

warrior is still very strong, other classes might indeed be better. but i think warrior has its niches and thats fine. no need to change, i mean necro, ranger have a hard time even after 3 yrs.

“other classes might be better” that is exactly the problem, they do not have a niche.

I have no problems with necros or rangers im glad they get played, but shifting the uselessness to another profession is not the solution. No berserkers were played competitively, that kind of tells people something lol

ANET employees think warrior is so easy to play against other professions that have every advantage to counter it’s simplistic design. Then when players who play other professions get beat by warriors ANET blames warriors instead of telling then they need to learn how to play because that would be rude.

It’s ironic because I’ve mentioned this in another thread, but guardian is a pretty simplistic profession too. Both are very straightforward in their designs, but one profession should not be handicapped/punished for it’s own mechanic.

Agreed with you guys on the disappointment of our place in the meta with berserker. I was really hoping that when I was theory crafting builds that I was missing something but it looks like I wasn’t

It all boils down to our dependency on other trait lines. We can’t run dps without strength line or else we lose dps. So we are forced to drop other lines. Problem is we can’t drop discipline or we get stuck in one weapon set which is death for us. So we have to drop defense line, which makes the risk/reward ratio too far into risk and we’re better off playing a different class like Rev or DragonHunter that has sustainable dps.

I use dps as my example here because that’s what berserker was supposed to help us do. Not to mention the fact that our support is laughable next to the other big support classes in the meta now

As someone who has been playing since launch, Warriors started out just as bad as they are now, then went through a period of time where they were overpowed (axebow, hambow, shoutbow, bowbow, bowbowobowobow)

Even though it frustrates me warrior is not a viable option for pvp, I also remind myself that Arenanet has been very helpful to me and not everything on big balance changes they can predict. They’ve made some mistakes with the class, here is our chance to express our opinion in an organized manner where they can see it.

Anet philosphy… Abjured doesn’t play Warrior and nothing OP about it at the moment so no need to change.

Arenanet has some nice people, this is just sort of a mistake on how underwhelming the profession as a whole is. They’ve been doing daily new builds this week so you never know we might get something

Recently tried the meta herald build and even though I have not mastered it by any means, I’m enjoying it so far, I just can’t seem to fully kill someone 1v1 xD. Any advice for someone who needs to git gud?

agree 100% my main MAIN is my hardcore asura warrior !
& holy kitten i’m kinda frustrated of it ATM we went from being ‘’meta builds’’ with PS/zerk warior build solo’ing arah bringing the team 1 of the best support’s also (especialy with the PS build i’m running) but now being absolutely @ the bottom of the barrel :‘(
even our elite spec is ………..horrible …… yes sorry but i main a warrior for 3 years now & kitten the elite spec is horrible(compared to the other ones oke ! rly) .
i’m not saying buff warrior soooo hardcore that we are NO°1 or we are the best dps in game etc etc , nonono not saying that @ all , but this just feels like being pushed from the top (like meta team builds etc etc) to the absolute bottom & that’s horrible to say & play also ., i just want my WARRIOR back !

Warrior has always been a class with a simple mechanic, but could do great things so it appealed to both new players and veterans. I’ve been playing warrior three years now and it is not deserving of being labeled as the “beginner” class, it should have just as much of a chance in competitive as other professions.

The strength of warrior has always been it’s versatility, I don’t even play warrior in other mmos but Arenanet has done a fantastic job taking such a traditional class and making it engaging and satisfying. I have the sexiest chinese dragon charr warrior nad the idea of him going berserk and applying burning just the most kitten thing they could’ve done, all we need now is to make it viable The berserker (and warrior overall) maybe underpowered right now, but I love the idea of berserker!

I agree with you all. Before buffing berserker they needs to address the base warrior dependency to our 2 big trait line. Or they will face the same issue on future elite spec.

IMO take what the base warrior needs from the traits, buff the base warrior with it and reduce the traits gain so that it balance out. This will open build diversity and then they can change berserker. I guess they will either nerf all elite of buff all basic class so they are on equal if they are serious about esport

Pretty much, even though I’ve heard a lot of variations of problems, the major ones come down to this:

Warrior is locked into taking two traitlines (defense and displine) to be remotely useful, and they’re generally locked into two utilities (endure pain and berserker’s stance). Remember when warriors in pvp could run all banners if they wanted? All stances? All shouts? I’m not saying things like shoutbow need to be as strong as they were pre june patch and dominate the meta, but a warrior deserves to have options that are not outclassed.

1. 1.2x direct damage of all weapon.
2. 1.2x condi duration and damage.
3. 1.2x shout heal and banner regen heal.
4. Warhorn converts 2 conditions into boons.
5. Skullcrack to leap skill.
6. Entering berserker mode at 2nd level of adrenaline level.
7. 1.2x healing signet
8. Leg specialist to 2 targets plus 2 sec of immob
9. rifle basically pierece without trait
10. All primal burst skill have CC, at least daze level.
11. Faster signet skill recharge.
12. Fast hand and adrenaline gain on weapon swap in base line.
13. Merciless Hammer damage increase on any target when using hammer (20% fine becuz it doesn’t grant might like greatsword trait)
14. Banner have 900 range effective radius and 90sec cd time.
15. Banner’s sprint has 900range mobility.
16. boon duration from Battle rage signet to 30~35sec.
17. Battle standard takes 1.5sec to summon banner and 100% chance to rez people when successfully summoned regardless of poison
18. Dodge attack (reckless dodge) to base line.
19. Impale’s Torments to AOE.
20. less recharge on whirling axe and more damage.
21. Mace counterblow instantly casts
22. Mace block skill blocks all projectile umtil it ends, only activate when one melee attack comes in.
23. Hamstring to bleeding + immob
24. Cleasing ire proc even though not being hit.
25. Rampage to 20sec.
26. Faster pulverize + longer weakness
27. Pommel bash to have more damage + 2sec daze
28. Torch’s Flames of War to have 20sec cooldown
29. Dual Strike grants 5sec of fury per each hit
30. Hammer Stun duration to 2~3sec
31. Mace strun durstion to 2~4sec
31. Bull’s charge and Stomp CD -5sec each
32. less recharge time for all signet utility (excluding Battle Rage Signet)
33. Tremor to 3sec knockdown
34. To the limits heals more based on adrenaline level
35. Mending to physical
36. Defiant Stance’s initial self heal increase by 150%
37. Shake it off remove 2 conditions and grant 2sec of stability after using it.
38. Fear me CD decrease from 60s to 50s
39. Berserker Stance removes all ongoing condition when applies
40. Dead of Alive proc with HP threshold at 20%, and heal amount differs based on healing point (from 5000 to 10000)
41. Swap Crack Shot to Destruction of the Empowered to allow many people to have it.
42. Inspiring Presense also increase rez speed by 20% and 20 healing point per might
42. Thick Skin HP threshold to 80%
43. Cull the weak’s appplying weakkness applies enemy HP above 75%
44. Defy Pain to base line. This is what forces warrior to have defense trait line.
45. Precise Strike, rending strike to 66%
46. Remove unsuspecting Foe, rather, make it more generally working on any type of weapon but not only stun type.
47. Empowered boosts 2% per each boon.
48. Banner trait also remove a condition of each affected allies in banner range per 10sec.
49. Killshot animation like Pin-down
50. All the passive stat buff from banner to 200
51. 2nd skill of Banner of Strength grant 2 stacks of might
52. 2nd skill of banner of Defense grant 5 sec protection
53. A way to continuously remove conditions somehow when in berserker mode, like cleasing ire.
54. For Great Justice’s fury duration from 8s to 10s
55. On my mark to 20s from 24s
56. Buff all rage utility except Outrage.
57. Outrage grant more adrenaline (but more CD time on nerf list below)
58. Shield block grant adrenaline when ends.

Nerf List
1. Gun flame animation to be like pin-down
2. Last Stand CD from 40 to 50
3. Outrage CD time from 10s to 15s


Maybe Anet can choose what to buff or nerf from this list!

Understood, I have a feeling they will address warrior this week. As much as I would love them fix this right now, I can also understand they can probably only fix a few things at a time right now with so much going on with the new expansion and trying to see how things play out.

I think berserker could take a lot of inspiration from the elite skill rampage. Obviously not that powerful, but the concept. Imagine going berserk does a few things like maybe reduce incoming damage by 10%, increasing damage, changes that would make someone fear berserk mode. People fear reapershroud because of it’s general tankiness and damage, Berserker should be the same.

Agreed, I persoanlly think it would be cool to see more traits benefiting banners, fast hands baseline seems appropriate for a weapons master.

BUT, this has to be about not only the elite trait line- it has to be about warrior as a whole.

Agreed! If you folllow the link you’ll see that I talk about the profession as a whole, not just it’s elite spec. I also state I am not aiming to make warrior the dominate class or anything like that, but our goal here is to assure the warrior’s place on any team. Bring back the versatility!

Warriors are a heavy class and should be honorable, durable and most importantly, reliable. Seeing the profession stuck as a frail second choice does not seem fitting, but you’ll find the rest of of the info on that forum in the pvp section.

Asking for changes after the overall performance I don’t think is a bad thing, do you feel warrior is in a good spot right now?

The only reason I play warrior is inertia.

Honestly I’m in favor of granting something upon entering Berserk. Necros can spec for Condi clear, Fury, and Stunbreak upon entering Shroud on a 7-10 second cooldown. Thematically I think either something like a “Roar” stunning foes in a cone in front of you, or Resistance would work.

Keep in mind when we make suggestions here there are no wrong answers, this is how you come up with ideas on how to balance the class.

Warhorn converts 2 conditions into boons.
Skullcrack to leap skill.
Entering berserker mode at 2nd level of adrenaline level.
1.2x healing signet
Leg specialist to multiple targets plus 2sec of immob
rifle basically pierece without trait
All primal burst skill have CC, at least daze level.
Faster signet skill recharge.
Fast hand and adrenaline gain on weapon swap in base line.
Permanently being able to keep adrenaline when not in combat.
Banner grants protection with regen plus 900 range and 90sec cd time.
Banner’s sprint has 1200range mobility.
boon duration from Battle rage signet to 40sec.
Battle standard takes takes 1sec to cast
Dodge attack (reckless dodge) to base line.

Just every aspects if possible.

Yeah, even with heavy armor and 28k HP, I STILL get bursted in 2-3 seconds at 2v1.

What kind of buffs would you like?

That topic is debatable, alot has been said but it comes down to a few things:

-Fast hands, we need it baseline more than ever

-All warriors are shoehorned into taking Defense and Disipline to be almost viable, the traitlines have plagued us since the june patch and cripples berserker versatility. We need more options, more traits for banners, more options for burning, more options for power builds who like rifles and stuff

-We are forced to take endure pain and berserker’s stance, period. It’s a serious problem.

-Berserker can’t burn as well as it wants to, people should be terrified of burning. A single stack for each rage skill just doesn’t pack a punch. Things like auto attack burning on longbow (burning arrows), maybe even two stacks of burning per rage skill used with the right trait, things like that. Those are just examples for better thoughts.

We have a profession that is shoehorned into two traitlines and two utilities, requiring very specific trait choices with not enough options.

I’m saying that warriors deserve better than this, they DESERVE options and to be viable. I’m not rerolling, my warrior is my oldest character and should not be punished for wanting to play this profession.

“Balance” will require buffs no matter what. Warriors are next to or at the bottom now.

Buffs definately, but nothing over the top, we just want options is all. I think we can all agree that any changes from now on to warrior would mostly be a step forward.

Glad we’re on the same page! I love warrior because I miss the versatility they were once known for, which was mostly passed to guardian (they surpass warrior in condition, power damage and bunker builds let’s face it).

I’m really glad guardians, rangers, necros and mesmers have more options, let’s just not forget about warrior too, the versatility was what got me into warrior. A heavy warrior shouldn’t be this frail hit and run profession, it should be an honorable, durable, but most importantly, a reliable choice.

Arenanet actually has some really nice people, but Warrior is in a terrible state and needs to be noticed.

My warrior has always been one of my mains and the character I’m most well known for, he got me my llama was a great fighter. No rerolling this time, warriors deserve to be great.

As much as I had fun trolling with the unkillable tank tempest build (deleted ammulet), my mains are mesmer and warrior.

Healthy gameplay is great, amd I miss playing my warrior, I want to enjoy berserker in pvp. You’ve probably read all the threads and have seen the overall lackluster performance of the profession in pvp, let’s make warriors great again!

Anet really loves the guardian probably even more than they love engi. So guards are just always going to be amazing at everything lol. Burn guard damage is ridiculous right now btw.

Yeah, other than AH being meta, meditation wasn’t really a thing until mid last year. This thread is not to berate guardians because they deserve to have versatility too, my point is that warriors are “weapon masters” and are supposed to be super versatile to compensate for their simpler mechanics.

Why is a mesmer, a light class, better at bunkering than a heavy warrior? Why is a guardian a better fighter than a warrior? Why would I want to bring a warrior when there are just plain better options?

In all honesty i play both and guardian is not that grate, the real problem is that since the traits patch, warrior has sucked, bad.
It has next to no sustain and is completely dependent on double invul cd to achieve anything.

That is very true, the reason I compare them to guardians is because it is another way of highlighting what is wrong with the class. Remember when mesmers were thief bait? Anet did an excellent job not only making mesmers good, but versatile in builds.

Warriors are so shoehorned into taking defense and disipline it is not only extremely predictable, but shows how the “weapon master” is not even good ad it’s job, being outclassed by guardian in just about every role. If you want warriors to be greatsword wielding bruisers that’s great, but for the love of god, give them something to make them worthwhile. Why should I take a gs warrior on my team over a mesmer, guardian or thief that has argueably more recovery, versatility and team support?

Guardian has always been the warrior of the game, even the old medi hammer ex meta build still is better than any current offensive warrior build, I love warrior but sometimes there is no choice then to reroll.

That is correct, I think the difference is that warrior were so versatile they stayed relevant. DPS guardians have mostly been favored over Warrior and I’m ok with that, but we had shoutbow, hambow, all sorts of bows (lol). My point is that regardless of role, warriors always found a way do something better. Now it seems like whatever they try they’re outclassed.

Games are not won with scores nowadays, they are won by timer. Yeah, it’s fine that one or two guys are ruining it for all the other players.

If a game is won by timer that sounds like multiple bunkers on both teams and neither team is very good.

In competitive play most matches are won after the full timer, but in normap tpvp almost never. I don’t see any high tier players using that ammulet.

I’m not the one to usually complain on the forums (until just recently lol sorry), but warriors have always been known as the weapon masters. Weapon masters I feel should have a little versatility, but has anyone noticed guardians have a lot more build variation? I’m not slamming on guardians or saying they’re OP or anything, but here’s my short perspective:

Burning builds, power builds (dragon hunter), bunker builds (AH guard), really think about that. In all categories, what does warrior or berserker do better than any of these?

The game is adding build diversity slowly but surely but still damage wins.

I’ve always mained mesmer and warrior, and I want to like warrior but I don’t feel like it’s as good as it used to be. I miss playing a heavy sometimes, it’s just weird that all the light classes are tanky and all the heavies are more damage xD

I haven’t felt more useless in PvP, since I started playing the game 2 years ago, when I didn’t have any clue how the game works. It’s literally: why would you bring Tempest, when a Scrapper or Herald does its job 10x times better? The fact that you are basically torn between Invigorating Torrents and Harmonious Conduit is so annoying, since you choose between condi cleanse or “chance” to not get interrupted while overloading (lets be real, 1 stack of stability is nothing, I’m looking at you Dragonhunter traps). And don’t start about how you can take soldier runes to get condition cleanse with your shouts, well if you can only remove 5 conditions with a massive CD on shouts, that’s not really worth it. Water overload is even worse, 5s waiting, 4s channel and 20s CD for 4 conditions cleansed and 8k heal!? I dunno if Anet doesn’t realize this is worse than simply swapping into water, getting 2 conditions removed and getting healed for 4k health overall, while it doesn’t screw your rotation and NO waiting. Oh, and you get to keep permanent Soothing Mist, with 20s CD on overload, you don’t.

Tempest has sort of a weird role right now, it can’t really rez people well like an AH guard can, but has decent healing and auras, that an it can be pretty much unkillable 1v1 and have been able to hold my own in 1v2s or 1v3s. That being said, you have to sacrifice your offensive presence which is kinda lame, but if you have a team that can already being dps to the table and you want this really, really tanky bunker with a mix of support, tempest is good.
