Sypsy, keep in mind they desinged WvW so its possible to go from 2→80 entirely in wvw. Removing crafting stations would hinder that greatly.

Some people forget SoS is old kaineng. There are a lot of old kaineng still on the server. Though we are much fewer in number. CNB and KAIN are still going strong as well. What was left of NUKE merged into Ai, but a few of our guys flipped their NUKE tags on when fighting Warsworn.

I think anet needs to do a soft reset of the ratings (allow servers to keep 70% of their rating, bringing all servers rating closer to gether, this would force SF up a tier)

Ive exprienced what oozo’s videos show. I am currently of the belief that the culling system is not properly accounting for distance.
Sometimes it works great though, like i can see enemies treb range out, other times not so great and a zerg just appears 10 feet away from my face.

If you want those names released the owner of the account would have to contact support to have them removed.
As accounts can be unbanned and ‘permanent’ suspensions lifted, the names should remain reserved to that account.
In addition after a character is deleted, the name is still reserved to that account for 24 hours.

I would ask anet to reconsider and do a soft reset.
A soft reset would be you would divide the current scores by 2-5, then add the average of the removed points to every server. That would bring servers ratings closer together without royally screwing matchups.
It would solve the problem of SF being stuck in T8, and Ebay not moving up in their matchup either.

JPs are my favorite way of getting loot. I love them keep it up. Also don’t be afraid to make them harder!
Make sure to tell terrain design that any new WvW map should have more JPs and maybe some interesting terrain in general…. Also tell class-balance that the engineer landmine shouldn’t expire

The port town in kessex hills is a good spot to get it as there are up to 7 downed npcs at a time. (I forget the name off the top of my head but its a level 19 renown heart).
Failing that right to the west of beetleton in queensdale usually has dead fishermen.
Failing that thermanova reactor in the asuran starting zone always has things to res.

I’m convinced at this point that the moments were noticing when its worse is a bug that anet can hopefully resolve soon. On paper by their description certain culling events were seeing plainly should not happen.

All I can say about reading both those statements the the obvious answer is most likely the right one.
A open world boss, drops a chest after it is defeated, which as a rare loot option may contain this item.
It satisfies both devs statements logically, and is probably the right answer.
Considering they said large chest, that could just be the reference to the appearence of the chest and not its actual ingame name.
Its also possible not all world bosses have been discovered. We know certain events are triggered, for example by kneeling infront of a statue, it is possible one of these areas hasnt been discovered yet by anyone and its a bit more tricky than we think.

Hey oozo i’ve been taking notes when the culling issues happen.
So far ive identified that there are invisible ‘culling lines’ before a majority of enemies will load. I am aware of 5 of them right now. Fighting away from these lines is all fine, fighting around them results in terrible culling issues.

We won the flat engagements against the btsy group, but couldn’t kill their rage inducing thieves! We eventually got one after I swapped to my immobilize spamming warrior, but even then it was a 10 minute exercise while listening to polka music attempting to lock down a thief just long enough to down him.Delarme

Prob [ Ai ] is like one of zergling.During run WvW, I’m recording videos. I couldn’t find [ Ai ] from fair? fighting stuff. II will check my video files again.
The time period i’m talking about is after AD and BTSY were running together. It was between briar and your spawn for a while then further north with your two remaining theives late at night. You’re guild was fielding 4ish (two were thieves) people at this time, we had 4 people. Several times during the skirmishing randoms would run in and start fighting and we would pull back.

waffle, please, no excuses. Kaineng has queues on all 4 maps in NA prime, so it isnt a ‘numerical weak point’.
If there is any timeperiod were weak in the numbers department it is euro-prime. And even in euro-prime we have guilds that fill in.

For the most part when i’m running around with my small group of peeps enemies load just fine. We have found some specific areas in the map where the culling issues happen. They also happened before though.
Personally i think anets distance calculation is messed up and isnt telling you about nearest enemies all the time, instead its telling you about far away enemies that you cant see anyway.
Weve managed to pick out a few areas that consistantly behave like this, personally I call them culling lines. Because once you cross this invisible line everything loads in, but if you back across it everything gets culled out again. Its annoying, but so far workable.

I have a new theory.
I think it is possible that for some reason when a queue pops for an individual the client is refusing to display the queue pop dialog box. This causes the server to have to wait for that progress bar to expire, then it reinserts that player into the queue.
This could also explain why some people get in <30 mins when you have some people waiting 2+ hours in the same queue.
This can also explain why some servers are down on pop, the heavier the queue the more often this situation happens, and thus more slots are being ‘reserved’ for players that are missing the dialog popup.

your setting the aoe cap at 10 would nerf nearly all siege. As said above, arrow carts already hit 50 targets. So do catapults and trebs.

I think its a strategic mistake to attack that east tower when you own the west tower instead of putting increased pressure on garrison. garrison is weakest on the west side, let red team attack the east side all they want, focus on keeping your north camp and west tower while building trebs to knock down garrisons walls.
All you were doing by retaking east tower was making yourself a target for dragonbrand, wasting time, manpower, and supply to do it.

Ive had the same thing happen under the old system. Overall this system is an improvement. I do believe that some serious bugs exist in both culling systems not properly prioritizing by distance. For example the other day when fighting by lowlands keep there was an invisible line we had to cross before the enemy would load in, when we went back past this ‘line’ the enemy would phase out. The line was somewhere between the southern most keep and the western most tower running east to west.
It is a strange anomaly and ive seen it in action under the old system as well. I think something is wrong in the distance calculation that arenanet is using. Maybe the new system is making this anomaly more apparent.

The funny thing about threads like these that for the most part they havent lived up to their preditions.
Every single matchup thread from T7 up had people saying kain would have trouble in the next teir, and they werent ready.
I simply dont believe them anymore and when we hit our ceiling we hit our ceiling. Hopefull tumble a bit so we lose these dreadful queues. (I’m original kaineng, I get to complain about the queues ok!).

Oh, you can 14k+ WW? Did not know, I’ve only seen 11-12. I was speaking of Mighty Blow.
Not on lupi (high defence) but it’s doable on other bosses, unlike Mighty blow that hits very rarely for 9k with same setup.

You can actually. Two of the lasers are close enough that one person running between them can keep them operating, and I THINK it slightly outpaces the shield recharge rate.
It would be a long time between shield drops and you would have to be real quick jumping down and completely getting out, but i think its possible.

For those rangers that are having difficulty doing this.
Equip a greatsword and go fight some mobs with the 1 ability.
The third attack which is evasive, counts for the daily track. So even if you cant dodge worth kitten you will get the daily done by spamming 1 on mobs.

The complaint is only valid if you could treb an enemy tower from your own tower at the start of the match, without taking an enemy tower or keep beforehand.

Yes keeps and towers start close to each other, but keep in mind who they belong to at the start of the round.

Now Anet are saying in the future you dailies will be a set number from a list of possible achievements, but atm you are tuck having to do the ones given to you.
So the question is, which WvW player will be doing crafting whilst WvWing?! I spend 99% of my time in WvW and such a achievement being required for WvW players is ridiculous.. People in my guild have already said that maybe instead of doing all 5, that you should be able to get the daily from 4/5 from teh list given to you.
Anet already said that doing all the paths for the daily wont be required when the system is done. For example you have 7 daily paths, but you only have to do 5 to complete it.

I disagree. Running around with 30+ in an organized group will always be effective in this game due to how fast the map can be traversed. The only way for them to fix this is to redo the maps which isn’t going to happen.
I’m not sure if your aware, but the culling change makes it difficult to see your allies if you roll in a giant zergball.
It makes it far easier to see your enemy though.

There are a few different knobs we can turn in regards to AoE some of the bigger ones being:
Radius of the AoE
Frequency of the AoE Damage
Damage of the AoE
Max Targets of the AoECurrently, some players causing the AoE are able to do more damage to one person while also controlling a portion of the field, compared to a player with single target damage.
In our balance discussions we always look at what these changes could do to PvE as well as PvP. Any changes we make will undergo a lot of testing, both internal and by our trusted alpha team. It is important to understand that we are not doing a blanket nerf to all AE’s or a dramatic adjustment of the damage AoE’s can do. There may be some cases where players can build for AoE damage, but are just not viable or other cases where AoE is clearly the dominate way to build, and as such the other builds get left on the side lines. Its these classes/builds that we are concerned about.Elementalists have something like 5 single target attacks out of the 100 available weapon attacks (5 weapon combinations x 4 attunements x 5 slots). So ~5% of our available options are single target … so what single target damage are you talking about that Elementalists are passing over in order to do AE damage? You didn’t exactly give us a choice in the matter.
If you nerf AE, all you are doing is nerfing ~95% of the elementalist class.
