Display Memory: 128.0 MB
That is probably your problem.
Minimum Specifications:
•NVIDIA® GeForce® 7800, ATI X1800, Intel HD 3000, or better (256 MB of video RAM and shader model 3.0 or better)
If it is a desktop look into upgrading your videocard to exceed the minimum spec. I recommend at least 512MB of video memory at MINIMUM and at least 1gb if you can afford that.

Demand increased tenfold, and as the Stockpiles of ecto went down, prices increased.
/facepalm – Fixed that for you.
Stockpiles went down, supply is unaffected at this point. Stockpiles do not equal supply.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
To me this is odd, because the rare droprate isnt going to go down that much overall, and ecto prodution will see a slight drop. Doesnt seem to match the rampant increase due to player panic and speculation. I predict the price will fall again after the patch goes live.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
Before this change:
Assume you got
Rare Shield
Final Rest
Blue Sword
Green jewel
Green trident
Crest
Under the new system only that rare shield would be in the account bound chest. The exotic drop rate stays the same, just the guarenteed rare is moved to the chest. Not the “Rare or BETTER” just Rare.
On occasion I have gotten 2-3 rares from a single boss chest, after this change only one of those would be moved to the restricted chest, meaning it is still possible to get rares from the chest itself.

There is sufficient counterplay here. There are lots of immob breaks, blocking abilities, invun, evades, teleports, dashes that can get you through this.
If your stacking into a tiny little zergball and walking through this you are going to get caught, but if you use any variation of the abilities that almost every class has, you can easily get through this.

Why?
Are you saying that loading an excel spreadsheet shoudn’t take any detectable amount of time?
Ive been doing it wrong all these years!
It takes cpu cycles to load a very long list, and sort it. Because the client is responsible for sorting the list you will have a cpu load spike as you open it.
Considering this menu takes up your entire screen, i find it acceptable.

Its a bug, it will be fixed eventually.

Wauw, so… if I read this graph correctly…
1,400 people sold 1 ecto.
1 person sold more than 2,544 ectos. This game has some SERIOUS problems. I can only assume that people that sell more than -say- 1,000 ectos on one day are somehow tracked and, if they do it consistently, are monitored to see where they come from.
Are you reading the same graph as I am? You seemed to have ignored all the people in between 2544 and 1 ecto and then suggested that there is a serious problem because the red line is touching the x axis. From what I can tell, there is only a slight bump in 250 ectos and that’s 1 stack which is normal. Beyond that it seems to be pretty close to 0 than 1 to me hmm.
People always see what they want to believe.
The reason the 250 blip is a bit higher is because 250 ectos is the stack limit for a single stack, a few people out there might only be selling at that amount (oh hey i have a stack of ecto let me put it on the tp).
There is no market manipulation on ecto, the margins are way smaller than the 15% (listing fee + tax) plux its an item that is losing value. Considering you cant really short sell in this game, it seems mighty stupid to try to ‘manipulate’ the price up on this item that is highly traded. It will rocket right back down to equalibrium before you can offload the enormous amount of ecto you would have to buy to drive the price up a smidge.
The major manipulatable items are always low volume. Ecto is high volume!

Guys, the answer is here:
Waypoints are currently the most powerful upgrade in the game but there are a few issues.
They are only inactive when the defense quest is active, are you guys planning on disabling them slightly longer than the defense quest to allow attackers to keep the defenders from spawning there just as the defense quest lapses?
For example under the current system I can count down on voip the defense quest and spawn in everyone right as it hits zero and before attackers can reflag the keep.
This is definitely a bug. I’ll see about leaving the rally points disabled for a few extra seconds after the event has completed. That way it just stays disabled if the event starts back up.
Just to calm nerves I wanted to bring this up again.
This is something that we would like to adjust, but doing so could remove one of the larger advantages of having the waypoint upgrade. With my mentioned adjustment it would also mean that one player would be able to lock down a location indefinitely. Changes to how this system works will need to be thoroughly designed and tested and as such will require time. I would not expect to see changes to how this works soon.

This happens in wvw because you are not actually on your own server when you are out in wvw, so the player context menu breaks and treats it if you were clicking on an enemy.

Well at least he had a creative idea. Heck I had an idea that I thought sounded good on paper… four or five guardians rotating out putting up walls and wardings and sanctuaries in a broken Gate to keep an enemy zerg from getting in.
Then someone told me that Lines of Warding don’t stop people with Stability.
Well it was an interesting idea, like this one. Zerg rush with oh so many and crush them with the lag. The issue is the low health of most of the zerg, and actually FINDING that many necromancers.
You can do this though, you just need necros and mesmers to put down well of corruption/null field.

Why would this suggestion make any sense. Plus it would make defense stupid hard as you cant counter treb any trebs setup to siege you.

I currently use my 1c orders as a watchlist. I am kinda sad that I cannot make more 1c orders currently.
I would appreciate watchlists added to the BLTC before you guys remove all the 1c orders.
Also secondly you shouldnt increase the minimum to include the tax. I think it is valueable for players to be able to offload their items without visiting a merchant. Hiking the price of greens by 15% will make them harder to sell. Consider it a convinence fee.

Please note that you can install Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit without an additional purchase. (I am assuming you have Home Premium, if not, you may need Vista Business or Vista Ultimate)
Steps to install a 64 bit OS:
1) Obtain a 64 bit installation DVD from a friend.
2) Backup your data (Important!) and boot from the Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit DVD.
3) Install Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit, if you do not format your hard drive it will move the old operating system installation (user folders, program files folder and windows folder into a folder called windows.old)
4) Enter your Product Key when it prompts you for it, Windows Vista Home Premium product keys are interchangable between 32 bit and 64 bit editions. Your product key will be on a COA label on the computer (laptop underneath, or under laptop battery, desktop on the top back or side panel).
5) Install all system drivers, note that your provided Driver DVD may not have 64 bit drivers, you may have to download them from your computer manufacturer’s website. If the network drivers are not detected you will need a USB storage device and another computer that you can use to get on the manufacturer’s website.
Enjoy actually using the 8 GB of ram you installed. As mentioned 32bit address space can only go up to 4GB, which includes address space for installed components.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
Keep in mind though some issues with TDR are not NVIDIA’s fault either. It can be RAM issues/Power Supply issues/GPU issues etc can also cause the TDR to kick in.
The thread Ashley linked has instructions how to test each of these components.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
Try plugging your laptop in directly to your modem or router using an ethernet cable to eliminate any issues that could be caused by the wireless network, then reinitiate the download.
Also try to right click the setup and select “Run As Administrator” and see if that helps.
Keep in mind that Guild Wars 2 will take roughly 20 GB of hard drive space on your computer when installation is complete. This puts you below the 10% free space recommendation post install. I would find things to delete or move to your external hard drive on your computer. Also your graphics capability is very close to min spec or below min-spec and you can expect performance issues in the game. The game may be playable but when lots of players congregate your computer will struggle.

“Fixing” it is a bad idea. A lot of people actually enjoy large scale combat.
Now for the rest of you who do not enjoy it, there should be large maps with more small team objectives.
Fixed, and I agree.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
The problem is the fights are too easy, not that they drop bad loot.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
Dulfy has maps of all the bosses paths, as i said we prefind the bosses with long paths, prescout the bosses that dont move, then trigger the bounty. We aim for the moving bosses first, then clean up any short path or nonmoving bosses.
The t3 one is good for getting a lot of bosses, so you can just pick the easist one, find it and kill it.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
I thought we were leaving fort aspenwood to you guys because you love each other so much.
Dont want to get in the middle of such a promising relationship.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
A guild of 5 can actually complete the bosses as long as they arnt particular ones that seem to require more than 5 to fight. (mount maelstrom champ in particular). By prescouting the ones you can kill, and finding the ‘static’ ones ive found we have been able to complete bounty T1 with just 5 people. Some of the fights take a little prep though.
For commendation spamming off t3’s is the best bet because you only need to kill one for the individual reward. that way you pick the weakest target out of the list it gives you and just find and kill that one (15 minutes is plenty of time, no need to prescout).
Apathy Inc [Ai]
But if you transfer you will improve that to 19v1, unless you go to SF and make it 21v1.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
No, it doesnt try to balance score for overall population disadvantages (if your server has overall less pop, all else being equal you are still going to lose). What it tries to do is weight the point gain by the population ratio, and add in a system to allow for comeback scenarios to occur.
Secondly the system I proposed as well as yours dont affect placement in the model, what it does affect the ‘how much’.
Basically I ran the numbers on just modifying score gains based on participation and ended up finding nearly no real difference between that and the normal system. (a coverage blowout, was still a blowout). Only when I added a come from behind scoring mechanic did scores even out, but not entirely. It became possible for one server or another to close the points on the final day, instead of the match being done on monday.
In that thread, server 1 and 2 have roughly equal overall participating wvw population. Server 3 has less. You will see in every case server 3 is last place.

Maybe when you are blind you don’t stomp hard enough?
You start to panic or something
Fear already stops stomp

I bet you also failed to put a hole in the floor.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
Generally; whenever I have an issue with something in a game, I ask myself if it’s related to balance or a realistic vs. gameplay-issue.
If it’s ever the latter I quickly ignore my own contempt, simply because I don’t think games should be tailored around realism and rather around balance/gameplay
(I think AoE is a little too dominant in this game and making it partially ignore blind would stress this unnecessarily.)
I think though, there is a difference between point blank aoe and targeted aoe, one is putting you at significant risk, the other is granting relative safety. While I see the balance/gameplay argument, I actually don’t think making stomp ignore blind to be unbalanced at all. Its a long cd skill with a aoe knockback. It has a significant wind up and an obvious animation which lends it to being interrupted as counterplay.
The problems making point blank aoe ignore blind may have balance considerations in the elementalist profession (again one major pbaoe attack has a very long channel, lending itself to interruption), but I don’t see major balance implications here.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
Blinds makes your next attack miss.
If you next attack is Stomp, it will miss.
I am fully aware of the mechanics of the game. They do not need to be restated.
The mechanic in this type of case does not feel right at all. I would suggest that they add a tooltip to point blank aoes that the ability ignores the blind condition. Something like “Ignores Blind”, as we have skills that “break stun”. These skills wont remove blind, as your next attack will still miss.
Right now it seems silly to do a stomp in the middle of a ball of enemies for it to play the huge animation and get nothing for it.
I can understand blind affecting targeted abilities or melee/ranged abilities because your character can no longer see its target.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
Dropping on and damaging enemies does not put you in combat currently with the fall damage reduction trait.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
There is no better build than the mantra healing mesmer if you want pure HP/s. Regen from phantasms + huge healing bursts every 5 seconds. The build really impairs the mesmers combat ability as it takes a long time to cast a mantra. Warriors have to expend very little time to heal and can support in other ways.
Ele’s healing is a bit overrated as ele’s tend to swap in and out of attunements they often arnt hitting the water heals on cooldown, and because their combofields other classes can combofinish to increase hp/s. You can say an ele is a better healer because you can blastfinish for huge group healing.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
One thing in this combat system that seems off to me is the ability of the condition blind to negate a point blank aoe attack.
For example. In WvW I charge into a group of enemies and use Stomp.
Except I got blinded, so all I see is a ton of ‘miss’ dispite stomping right next to 30 enemies.
I’m pretty sure that blind shouldnt be stopping point blank aoe’s I’m hitting the ground not people, the act of me hitting the ground is what launches foes.
I can see why it should affect weapon attacks or ground target aoe’s but point blank aoes that fan out in every direction seem like abilities you dont need to be able to see to use.
Its kind of annoying to charge into a group of enemies and use stomp, here I make this huge crater in the ground right next to my enemies and it doesnt affect them most of the time. (rarely am i getting directly targetted to get blinded, mostly its combofields and projectile/blast finishers that apply blind to me)
Anyway I thought I would share why I am bothered by blind in conjunction with point blank aoe’s it just doesnt seem right to me.

@ OP please look at this thread from 4 months ago.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/An-alternate-scoring-system-Accounting-for-population-differences/first
A simple population modifier wont have that much impact by itself, I can run it against the model I developed in that thread to test your theory, but it will probably result in the sameish point differential that we see now.
Apathy Inc [Ai]

Apathy Inc [Ai]
cut because 5000 words
well lets address these:
-Limit the number of items can be sold (5-10 selling slot, 5 is the minimum, +2 with new guild upgrade, +1-3 if you have 1-3 lvl80 character)
Did you even think before suggesting this? As a regular player I have something on the order of 20-30 sell/buy orders on the market when I want to sell stuff. For example when I hit my bank I tend to sell all my T1 and T2 mats often just matching lowest seller. This creates a ton of buy orders that wont last long on the TP. Often these items go quickly but it can take 5-10 mins for most of the orders to clear.
With this restirction in place you will be hampering MY ability to sell stuff. I will have to wait 5-10 minutes to put up more sell orders, or I would have to sell to lowest buyer, which would actually create more openings for tp flippers to make money, because it will drive the buy orders down from people like me looking for a quick TP post. The bigger the gap between the buy and sell order is what creates chances for TP traders to make money. Artificially limiting the amount of sell orders or buy orders a player can have will HURT the market.
-Auto decrease mechanism (every 24 hours the items’ price will decrease with 1%
Another case of not thinking. So you will intentionally kill the market on items that dont move quickly? What this will do is prevent players from putting sell orders up on items with very little movement. Imagine if you decide to sell sunrise, and you put it up on the market. Lets say this item doesnt sell for three days. You lost 3%. That 3% is a huge chunk of change. What this will do is prevent these players from putting sunrise on the market directly, instead they will post to 3rd party sites saying that they have sunrise and want to sell at X amount. When they find a buyer they put it on the TP on that amount then the buyer will buy it, thus circumventing this worthless idea.
The TP already has a good marker on what people are willing to pay for for items, you dont need any artificial mechinism to ‘control’ it.
-Lower limit for all items
I have no idea what you mean by this.
-Fix price for some item
No idea what the point of this is. The reason the market exists is so you can sell and buy goods. If you post a good for a lower price it will sell quickly, if you post for a higher price it may take longer to sell. By fixing the price that means I have no guarentee when my item will sell. If i am looking to dump an item quickly so i can buy something else this will be a very bad thing. Lets say there are 3,000,000 mithril on the market, and I put my 250 I harvested on the market in your system. It might take up to 3 days for me to get the money. And for items with lower demand and high supply I may NEVER get the money. Another bad idea.
-You can not sell, lower/higher than the average price + – 5%
Oh hey, something more easily manipulated than the current system. Take any item with a low volume and I can personally inflate the average price easily. Now that its ‘locked in’ at the higher price I can cash out, while i’m cashing out I am fixing that price even further. Another bad idea.
-Decrase drop rate (blue, green, rare) Its not a bad idea in a market sense, it is a bad idea that everyone will complain. This is a video game, sometimes oversupply of certain things is ok.
-Rebuild craft system: new weapons/armors/consumables with very unique visual effects, party buff-s, etc. (I have a lot of ideas about this, but it is not part of the topic.)
Hey a good idea! Finally! This is a proper way to increase the demand on goods, by putting things in the game that players want to get!
-New recipes (ingedients: the cheapests materials)
Another decent idea! With more recipes you introduce more natural demands.
-Temporary new recipes in the Mystic Forge (remove 10 000+ items and very cheap blue/green items )
This has been done before. I dont think its a good idea unless there is a vast oversupply of a crafting material. Green items already can be forged into rares and salvaged into ectos for a profit when the ecto price exceeds ~29 silver. Personally I think the merchant price on greens is simply to high, if that was dropped to 50c it could allow the market to correct. But dropping the price will cause issues with the players as people will get 50% of the money merching these items. It will also cause a decrease in the price of rares and ecto as the price to produce a rare from a green will also drop. By holding the minimum price high Anet ensures that rares and ecto price will remain around ~29 silver +/-15%.

I can understand that bounties can’t be made by small guilds like mine properly. I can understand that some guild missions are meant for larger guilds.
The thing is that they should have made treks or races to be the first unlockable, so small guilds could earn their merits slowly. They way they have put them, a lot of small guilds are trapped without the chance to unlock anything unless they are lucky to beat the bosses on time :/
My estimation is that you can complete the guild bounty itself with a minimum of 6 people.
You can get the commendations by simply hunting only 1 of the 2 bosses. If you just want to farm commendations you can get the T3 one, pop that then pick the easist boss in the list, doable with 4-5 people. For getting the merits you can do them with 6-7 people.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
People are forgetting they are ‘lifetime’ achievements.
So in 20+ years are they unreasonable? Probably not. Except stonemist defender.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
When it is under 25% remaining hover your mouse over the speed up button, you will see it decrease in price as the seconds tick by.
So yes, it does adjust it based on how far you have to go.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
They are considered lifetime achievements.
I do like them though because I wont realistically complete them. If they were completable it would be harder to compare my wvw achievements (it stops keeping track after it is completed).
Also keep in mind that the original guild wars is still running, it is possible some people will have a few of these after 7-8 years.
I would prefer that the devs just add more, maybe split them out so it keeps track like it does now but also gives you titles for each step.

It’s the combination of the highest dps, best mobility and permastealth that’s wrecking WvWvW.
Thiefs are not the most mobile.
Warriors and Elementalists are both faster. The thief however is far more evasive, because you dont know which direction the thief is running in, its very hard to chase.
nope. thieves can get 50% run speed.
As explained, even with the 50% run speed while in stealth they are still not faster than a warrior or elementalist. (which is currently 33% when you are in combat).
Leaps charges and teleports is what makes these classes the fastest. But as I said the theif can run in any direction and the people chasing have to guess which way you are going, this will result in the theif escaping more often than the warrior or elementalist. The warrior is probably overall very bad at escaping from a combat situation. However they are very good at running people down and they have the tools to slow someone down for the rest of your party.
Warriors also have some of the strongest counters to stealth spamming theives, but it does require them to run a weapon set that will get outran by a theif (notibly a 2h hammer).

As long as FA can stay ahead of SoS in points they will probably stay in T2.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
I do not agree with your assessment.
Orbs were a bad mechanic, broken consumables should be removed, siege in puzzles was boring. If you want to fight do it with you own hand. Fights are a bit more exciting in the puzzle as campers have to risk themselves to kill me.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
(Mostly to KA) Out of curiosity, how does FA compare to TC?
Its hard to compare FA to TC, it seems like TC’s American prime is stronger but FA has better coverage than TC does.
SoS however seems to be the weak link and I think its safe to say that SoS will be dropping to T3 when you guys move back up. Unfortunately that means a week or two wait as we absorb SoS’s score.
That’s my early call which is a bit premature till we see how the servers stack up in the M-F before reset where the meat of the points are earned.
Apathy Inc [Ai]
If I were anet the only thing I would change is skills that can grant long duration stealth and cap the stealth they can give. Personally I think 3 seconds of stealth is the longest you should be able to stay in stealth and stealth should not be duration stackable.
No ‘perma’-stealth, no long duration stealth which can make it impossible to chase you.
