People dont seem to realize even if they made precursers easy to get, the price of a legendary will stay roughly the same (actually it has the potential to become MORE expensive).
All it will do is shift demand on the rare materials required for legendaries, such as lodestones. If the lodestone price doubles it wipes away all the ‘savings’ you got from the precursor.

So yesterday we ninja’d the west walls of NSP garrison in plain sight
with over 20 enemies walking by us before they noticed us.

Yep.
We were seen though before we breeched the wall, and wiped off, but we came back 10 mins later to finish the wall off as your keep had no supply to repair it. After we broke in I ran across the entire keep to portal in a waiting commander who then lead our zerg to their death because apparently, they didnt know how to kill cannons. (and the commander didnt bother actually stopping at them and getting the zerg to clear them).
It was pretty intense for those few seconds running across your keep with several of your players in the way, as well as guards as an up leveled mesmer who needs to update gear.

Learning how to stomp in an unfair fight is a skill you need to attain. And yes, sometimes its impossible to stomp someone. If they removed down state and just doubled everyones HP, you wouldnt have downed anyone to begin with.

War machine is a very highly skilled guild, were glad to have them. They arnt bots, they just have a level of coordination that you are unable to attain.
8 War Machine players competed in the Guild Wars World Championships in GW1, they were a top or the top (depending who you talk to) guild in GW1. I dont know if these players still play but thats the level that war machine seeks to attain, as far as I understand it.

It looks like it will be an easier week next week for AR unless you guys dont keep it together this week. DR seems to be failure cascading and might be a shell of its former self.
Also it looks like we will be almost 1 on 1ing ebay next week ourselves and I expect it not to be easy. BP seems to have rolled over this week as well.

I find the response about projectile destruction skills vs siege interesting, have there been any creative use of mechanics that have suprised you? (side note, i’m not talking about exploits here, but things working as intended but resulting in unexpected tactics or results).

Defending feels futile because i feel that the rewards for defending are laughable.
If they gave out defense quest progress on downing enemies (not defeating them) and increased the total exp, karma, and gold gains for defending we will see the meta shift from attacking.
In actuality defending isnt that much harder than attacking, generally you can stall larger attacking forces with a squad or two of people as long as they are placing and using siege effectively and have a stockpile of supply.
The waypoint exploit really doesnt seem intended and on top of that it awards lazy play.
Its not interesting play for the attackers who finally after hours of attempting to get into a keep breech inner rush the lord and then have 80+ enemies respawn in on them and wipe them. And as noted earlier that this bug also makes flagging keeps less worthwhile, by making it more worthwhile you are encouraging counterplay to that tactic, servers that watch for it and try to engage people attempting it will be rewarded with working waypoints for longer periods of time.
The reality is if defense rewards were worthwhile servers may dedicate as many to defense as attack, and if there are equal forces on both sides the attackers lose.

There are no respawns in fractals except in specific areas, removing respawns would break at least 3 fractals from even working.

They stand out enough if you hold down ctrl (or is it alt) as it displays the nameplate of all visable interactive items in yellow txt.

probably same reason, because BoH is an item your creating issues if someones inventory is full when they attain a badge. Though I’m sure some of us wouldn’t mind the consequence.
Ideally BoH should be a currency like Karma, Coin, and Gems and not take up inventory space at all. And be account level like Gems. If it was like that then they could award the BoH on kill without worrying about edge cases, but it probably takes far more time to develop a system like that.

Waypoints are currently the most powerful upgrade in the game but there are a few issues.
They are only inactive when the defense quest is active, are you guys planning on disabling them slightly longer than the defense quest to allow attackers to keep the defenders from spawning there just as the defense quest lapses?
For example under the current system I can count down on voip the defense quest and spawn in everyone right as it hits zero and before attackers can reflag the keep.

Just like to point out: According to one of your Peeps, AR had Queues on basically every Map: as did Kaineng. All Servers have the same limit of Players per Map. Despite having similar numbers, Kaineng HAS managed to take the lead and hold it. This is not an attempt to Chest-thump, I KNOW we can get a lot better…response time for any calls I’ve made out for help thus far have taken WAY too long. I at least feel it’s fair to say that on “Equal Ground” thus far, Kaineng has proven itself fairly skilled.
Note: This is more for those who are going to be saying how great they are and how horrible Kaineng Players are and how they got 500 Badges off us, blah blah blah. Everyone knows full well I expected a good fight. :p Been posting everywhere “AR and NSP are going to surprise everyone, I was over there and I saw them in action.”
To clear things up. Nobody in AR is saying we are great and that Kains suck.
A few things that should be made clear. As I’m sure you already know.
During NA primetime (last nights reset) it is essentially a 2 man fight. AR and KAIN. The PPT were pretty even. Check my score screenshot, your points lead is coming from NSP nodes. Our objective wasn’t to win or take the lead last night. It was to test your strength.
With that being said, lets all have fun this week. Leave the chest thumping to the apes.

Its not entirely true, if NSP wasn’t in EB and wasn’t on their BL they wouldn’t be splitting our forces from focusing on you. NSP relieved a lot of pressure we could have brought against your server if it was 1 on 1.
It was a 3 way fight and NSP was fighting tooth and nail for what they had. And they were primarily fighting us. Don’t talk down to NSP so hard, they have a lot of fight in that server.

Also i’m 100% sure there is no such thing as a ‘transferless’ server at this point. You might not be entirely aware of who and when people transfer to your server, but its happening all the time to all servers.

- How many players can one map contain?
As many as we can fit without causing too much stress on the servers. We can’t be more specific than that, but I can assure everyone that the cap is definitely split equally between all three worlds.
We have heard multiple reports for months about people being queued for a map and entering it only to have the outmanned buff, but unfortunately we’ve never been able to verify ways that could be occurring. I’m not saying it isn’t happening, but we haven’t ever been able to reproduce the problem, and if we can’t reproduce the core problem, it makes it basically impossible for us to find and fix the bug
Sorry. I don’t believe a word of this. There is no doubt a ‘number’ for the server. The only question is if it is spread equally among the 3 teams. My guess is no. Rumor is, it is around 166 per team – if it is spread evenly. However, after tonight I don’t think it is. Our opponent had masses and masses of players while we had under 60 total. The funny thing is, we had a que. None of our guys could join.

So you dont believe he cant find a bug even though he admits its possible? The hard cap code wise is split evenly between all the servers, that doesnt mean there might be some ‘leak’ somewhere that some servers might experience slowly as the week goes on. All mike said is that it is supposed to be spread evenly, and they havent found any anomolies with the system that they could confirm. Not that anomolies dont exist (for example it could be reporting 140 people for team A but team A only has 110 on the map for real).

Gold is the main issue, but you have to be careful, I and many other WvW’s do not want WvW to be easy money. If it becomes that then it will attract the farming variety of players and it will degrade WvW.
It needs to give you enough to play WvW and stay in WvW and be able to pay for upgrades. Right now as it is its hard to stay in WvW and pay for upgrades, you can do one but not the other easily. Siege aquisition is fine as I can do the jumping puzzles to keep stocked in siege without paying out.

They can modify the rating system to take in account population. That should inflate the bottom 3 servers relative ratings while keeping them in t8 so once one starts consistently winning they move to t7.
The biggest problem with the rating system is that 2 servers can grow equally and become better equally but be locked into the same tier until one or the other gives up.
Once that server escapes t8, its shoots up the chart like a rocket till it hits enough resistance, then sheds the fair weather players it built up over a month and probably takes a short tumble (or long one).

They tend not to play with their anet tags on in wvw as it attracts typically unwanted attention and resentment from players attempting to lead servers.

Looks like you got caught up in error 42 issue and your account was rolled back so you can play. If you would like you can ask arenanet to undo it so you can stare at an error 42 screen and be unable to play the game, if that’s better.
Its not ideal but sometimes rollbacks on characters need to happen.

@ loran while transfers helped, we still would have beaten this teir very badly without them.
We were competative with DR in tier 8 until about 1-2 weeks before they left our tier. We got the transfers after DR left T8. Meaning without the transfers we would have beaten this teir with slightly less score than DR had when they trounced through this tier. Without the transfers it would have been less imbalanced, but in this particular case it wouldnt have affected the outcome too much.
All I hope is at least you managed to have more fun than I did this week (i didnt have much fun in wvw).

Frankly its boring.
By the looks of it the next teir will only be little better. (not bragging).
I had more fun when we were camped into our spawn for weeks while HoD was busy being #1. At least when you dont own anything you have a target rich enviroment, if you can get past the frustration of getting lolzergsteamrolled.
I remember the nights where my guild would camp a supply camp. We would cap it, and it would be the only supply camp our server would own. Eventually we graduated to towers, then started ninjaing keeps, but there was a point where supply camps were the only thing our server could even reliably cap. Cliffside was our Stonemist castle for weeks.
Once the bottom matchup stopped changing because fergie failure cascaded, we would have good fun tombstoning other small groups from other servers, and we would get tombstoned ourselves. GoM/HoD dont seem to be aware of the honorable tradition and respawn as soon as they are defeated instead of sticking around for the tombstoning that concludes a good fight. We even would one up each other by dropping more valuable siege instead of flame rams.
The funny thing was the zerglings of our server would actually build the rams so you would have random rams dotted around the map.

GW2 also didnt say they wouldnt have grind. They did say that Grind wouldnt relate to power. (ascended not withstanding, fix tba).
If you want to grind 10 hours a day for a particular armor set, there is nothing stopping you. But I can do just fine in the starter set with the exact same stats.

There are plenty of reasons I want people to activate upgrades in the guild while not being able to claim an objective.
You crying over a guild claiming and not upgrading is really just personal. Take it up with that guild that did that. There are plenty of guilds that ‘claim’ and dont provide buffs as is, and it has nothing to do with the fact that they cant activate upgrades.

how about replays?I think you are mistaken in your belief that spectator is important to make a game an esport.
This argument has been brought so many times and it is grossly invalid.
LoL has been a successful game from the very beginning, so was Starcraft. They didn’t need those features, because people were just playing these games. Additional and more robust features came later and just improved the already great experience.
This is not the case of Guild Wars 2. SPvP isn’t successful and it needs features or it hemorrhages to death.
Thanks for completely agreeing with me. Spectator mode is actually one of the small things that would be ‘nice to have’ but has little to do with why the mode isn’t popular.
I would like to see proper matchmaking implemented, as I think its a core feature that is integral to the success of many real esport level games. Allowing people to play fair matchups will keep people playing longer and widen the community of players. No one likes getting stomped over and over again. Spectator can wait.

Exact numbers can be tweaked up and down.
Ideally I would want more of a swiss format so even if I lose the first round I still get to play in the next two. It would take far more development time than tweaking the numbers.
Also even if you put a partial ticket refund in place, people arnt going to willingly throw their first match. You don’t do paids to win less tickets than you put in. you do paids to get QP’s. The real cash rewards should be shifted to the monthlies, which should require a reasonable level of QP’s to enter. (and monthlies should award actual cash, not gems, and yearly qps for a once a year tournament with a huge cash payout).
SA’s system would require far more development time to implement. Even though I agree its more ideal. Double elimination or accelerated swiss systems can work wonders in here. But simply refunding some of the tickets will increase the population participating in paids and can serve as a proper stop-gap until double elimination/swiss tournaments can be implemented.
