Is this a bug?
When I switch to Flamethrower, Bomb Kit, Elixer Gun, Tool kit, and Gernade kit, it used to come with it’s own backpack skin whenever you switched weapon kits.
Now this doesn’t? Is it a bug?
not saying any and all screen capture is bannable, just saying for the purpose of PvP I have seen screen capture used to auto target say…. mesmers after decoys are placed etc… clearly giving an advantage etc… like i said, submit the code for parousal so they know nothing nefarious is being used. I dont have first hand knowledge of any wrong doing, all I know is that it has been used in FPS’s specifically to auto target players, it can be used here for the same purpose.
Ah yes that would be cheating.
as a side note… screen capture is also a way simple auto targeting hacks work… give you an advantage in pvp too… I would say no.
Screen capture is not bannable… I use Nvidia’s Shadowplay to record ingame footage with screen capture and nothing happened to me…
Screen capture software is alright. What do you mean by analyzes the screen?
What exactly is it analyzing?

GW2 doesnt have the holy trinity. You are responsible for pulling your own weight and for contributing in helping others.
Here is a quick 4min video that will show you how all 8 classes play like if you want to get an idea of what to expect from each class played to it’s potential:

This is lame, I wana play this and I still can’t… T_T
Idk I have OSX 10.4 installed on my PC and I dont use it for games.
I recommend Windows for games since it’s better and more compatible.
It would help if you told the forum whether you play on North American or European servers. (Or Chinese servers, but they have their own forums.)
Because people from different regions can’t play together.
NA Server.
I have finished, “Seas of Sorrows”, “Edge of Destiny”, and “Ghosts of Ascalon” and I must say… The Story and Action and characters are freakin AWESOME!!!
Good Job to the Author and the ArenaNet Team!
I only wish the stories from those books were part of the game’s “Story Missions” because I got to know the characters way better from the books than in game. Let’s see how the full story turns out in GW2 expansion cause im getting excited! =P
Anyone who hasn’t read GW2 books… DO IT… BUY IT… You Wont Regret it!!! =D
I responded to your first post on another thread but I’ll do it again here:
I’d be more than happy to teach you the game and play with you!

They should… and they should make it private by default too.
Let’s see how many players will actually care to put the effort in making it public… probably very few…The problem is… those that wish to use it to exclude and “gear check” others are simply going to say, make it public or kick same as if they don’t like what they see.
kitten you’re right…
Then forget my suggestion… Keep gear inspect out of the game.
Gear inspec discourages newbies from learning how to make new builds and encourages cheaters who go on PvP matches…
@ Fratstar.2140
I PMed you on the forums! Sure I’d be happy to help you learn how to pick and buy the right parts for your PC. Contact me on Skype!

No thy, its non of other players business what armor/gear or build I run. I like my privacy.
I do not like being an open book. if they wanna know they can ask. might actually get some good socializing. It does not fit the ‘’run what you want non role based gameplay atmosphere’’ of gw2 either. If they do implement it, they should add a option to make it private aswell.
They should… and they should make it private by default too.
Let’s see how many players will actually care to put the effort in making it public… probably very few…
NO THANKS…
The ability to inspect other player’s skills/traits/stats would be a bad idea for PvP and PvE.
Every build has strength and weaknesses.
If a player inspects my build, that player could make a build to counter mine before we even start a PvP match… It’s cheating.. It’s like looking at your opponent’s deck and cards on their hands.
Also a bad idea in PvE because it would encourage newbies to copy another person’s playstyle instead of being creative and making their own. This game is about building your own playstyle and mastering it for whatever contents you like. Inspecting would discourage that since newbies wont learn through experimentation and veterans will cheat in pvp by creating counter builds before the match.
Just don’t…
^_^ Special Thanks to Kidlive.8607 & Glimly Drand.94.5 for helping me with Updating this guide! Hopefully this will help newbies out better on how the new system works while still teaching the essentials of in game mechanic and making builds.
Thanks for the Support everyone and ArenaNet! <3
Bump in case anyone still need help! =P
Just to give you all a heads up;
I’m from NA California so please show some consideration regarding my time zone.

PM me if you’re interested in some help and I’ll send you my skype info and we can get started.
Love ya all! <3
Has Personal Story been restored to it’s original order or is it still a mess?
Thanks =)
The patch took 2 minutes for me.
I live in California so that might has something to do with it? O.o
Why not write how much you love the game and send it directly. Forums are less personal and not always the best way to get heard. I doubt he gets much time to see the forums regularly
I believe ArenaNet does check the Forums and even if they dont respond to everything, they do read it the very least and that’s what counts for me. =)
If you love a Story based game with a game play of Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and Action RPG all in an MMO World where you can play with many people at once, then GW2 is the game to play.
HoT expansion is going to be heavily inspired by old school games and SAB is inspired by it too. I really think ArenaNet quality games is amazing. This is why I am trying to make my voice heard to the Founder, the Boss-leader of ArenaNet in hopes we can have SAB back for good for those of us who truly love this part of the game they have created.
There are NO MMOs that can make ArenaNet Quality games.
We have Mike O’brien to thank for help creating this wonderful game company with such high quality games with no subscription or pay-to-win scheme. I hope Mike O’brien and the Team at ArenaNet would decide to bring SAB back because truly it is one content that is loved by many, including me. =)
(edited by DreamyAbaddon.3265)
Dear Mike O’Brien
Thank you for creating ArenaNet and the world of Guild Wars.
Unfortunately GW1 and GW2, has ruined my enjoyment of playing other MMOs.
Why did you have to create so many enjoyable contents?
How am I suppose to play other MMOs without these content?
What content am I talking about?
This list here:
Dynamic Events.
Personal Story.
Living Story (Season2+)
Story Dungeon
Exploreable Dungeon
Mini Dungeons
Fractal
Jumping Puzzles
Points of Interest
Vista Challenge
Skill Challenge / Hero Challenge
Guild Challenge
Guild Bounty
Guild Puzzle
Guild Rush
Unlocking Waypoints
Holiday Events
sPvP
PvP (Stronghold) MOBA Style
WvW – RTS Style
World Boss Events
Crafting System – Fast/Easy exp
Gathering – which gives exp
Achievements
SUPER ADVENTURE BOX
Do you realize how hard it is for me to play other MMOs that lack any of the content above that you have created? Do you know how bad it feels now playing those games with traditional quest system where you accept a quest from one NPC to kill 10 rats and go back for exp/loot just to level up? Or repeat same dungeon with only 1 path over and over again? Well I can tell you right now Mike O’Brien… I have to force myself to play those other games but when it comes to GuildWars2… I’m having so much fun playing that I loose track of time and miss my bedtime schedule.
Mike O’Brien, do you know which content on my list that I really want to play but can’t in my own convenience? SUPER ADVENTURE BOX…. (SAB)
SAB is something that captured many people’s hearts.
It was a content that deserves to be permanent. It is another unique content, ANOTHER REASON to BUY GW2… Another Fun Thing to do in game! Another way to play the Game! Another way to look at MMOs. Another way to look at the word, “FUN”.
GW2 is the Only MMO that has unique and enjoyable content that lets you play how you want and what you want and this is what I love about the game.
So I’m going to speak for those of us who love SAB:
Please Mike O’Brien.
Please let us have SAB back…
Please let it be permanent.
Please Boss-Leader of ArenaNet, we love you so much but we will LOVE YOU EVEN MORE If you do.
<(^-^)> Hugs
Let the Super Adventure Begin!

Maybe if they add text explaining the difference between skills and traits, it wouldn’t be confusing.
As a Veteran this doesnt bother me at all… But I really dont think newbies will get it unless Skills and Traits are somehow split or icons are somehow changed to reflect the difference
I think ArenaNet should seperate traits and skills UI so new players know the difference cause this could confuse a lot of newbies as they wonder why they are not learning new skills. lol
I really think the Profession Reward Track System for unlocking new Skills and Traits using the Hero Points is awesome.
But I have some concerns regarding how new players might get confused with it.
For example: The first 5 Lines are (Traits) which you use Hero Points to unlock.
The rest are (Skills) which you use Hero Points to unlock.
A new player who plays Elementalist looks at this new menu might think that"Fire Magic" (Trait Line) will help them learn new Fire Skills… When we veterans know that’s not the case.
I think it’s best to seperate Traits & skills in the UI to help newbies know the difference while still keeping the system as it is.
Here is how the Menu looks:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/specializations-part-two-reward-tracks-and-elite-specializations/
What do you guys think? Will newbies be totally lost?
^_^ Once the New Specialization System is Released, I will Update this Combat Guide!
Stay Tuned for more!
Thank you, Anet. I will happily spread the word to everyone I know that the story will be playable again.
I just want to be clear that we haven’t announced a release date for the Personal Story Restoration content yet. We’re posting information on Tuesday.
This is great news!
I can’t wait for Tuesday to see the info regarding this!
Can’t wait to find out when Personal Story will be playable again.
In my experience with new players, the confusion comes from a player joining their first guild and not being aware that they have to do anything to represent it. The simpler fix would be that when you accept a guild invite, you automatically represent that guild.
I think Represent and Stand Down are fine words to define these actions. Also, representing a guild is advertising it. You are showing off your guild to all other players, and hopefully making a good impression that makes others want to be a part of it.
I do agree with your suggestion that when someone new joins a guild it should automaticlly (represent) the player.
Currently: New players are confused about the term (Represent) and (Stand down).
I got a feedback from a newbie friend of mine who thought that those terms had something to do with advertising their guild
My Suggestion:
Change the word (Represent) -to- (Active)
Change the word (Stand Down) -to- (inactive)
This will help newbies know they have the ability to switch guilds AND which guild they are currently visiting without the need for a veteran player having to explain the meaning of the current words we have in place.
-Discuss- & -Support this Post- If you agree! =)
Edit: New players should also automatically be in the guild (active) the moment they join without having to manually do it themselves. Taken straight from rhapsody’s suggestion below.
(edited by DreamyAbaddon.3265)
I’m telling you guys… The Real problem here is coming from Morganna Mode Gone…
Edit: Google it
Here are things you can do:
Jumping Puzzles, Mini Dungeons, Story Dungeons, Explorable Dungeons, Fractals, Minigames, Personal Story, Living Story Season2, PvP, WvW, Crafting, Gathering, World Boss Events, Dynamic Events, Guild Missions, Guild Challenge, Guild Bounty, Guild Puzzles, Guild Rush, etc.
The remaining:
Skill Challenges, Hearts, Vistas, Points of Interests etc.
You can also improve yourself in combat and theorycraft and create different builds and experiment with different playstyles.
There is a ton to do. =)
Update: Also the new GW2 expansion will have even more things to explore. So enjoy the base game to the fullest before HoT cause lots of people will be playing HoT.
Everybody get ready!!!
We are about to Explore Tyria in Virtual Reality!!!!
Watch this video and imagen this kitten in GuildWars2:
https://www.youtube.com/user/VirtuixOmni
Edit: I play GW2 on Xbox360 Controller since beta and I can tell you this kitten will be amazing with Omini+Oculus Rift
Does this mean we can play with Ocolus Rift and Virtuix Omini?!
OMG!!! My Dreams of VR MMORPG is coming true in GUILD WARS 2!!!!!
I LOVE YOU ARENANET!!!!

…and NO no matter how skilled you are you can’t kill a champion alone. Champions are by definition something you do with a party or a group of people. …
The majority of the champions in the game can be defeated solo….
I dare you, i double dare you to defeat them alone. They are created to encourage team play…otherwise what’s the point.
Sure maybe with a ranger or mesmer from a safe distance and in like 30 minutes…sure…but that’s no fun
Actually you can solo some champions and most group events with any class.
How is it fun? It’s actually challenging and takes a lot of skills doing it solo that’s how it’s actually fun.
Though playing with groups I prefer dungeon and fractal, and PvP/WvW for that but I dont mind people helping out in Events as I explore. =) Im just glad there are no Kill stealing <3
I have one 29 Warrior and a 20 Elemental that i want to focus on. Map exploration is fine as i said if you like that kind of stuff but i prefer other ways of leveling.
I sent you a PM offering to help ya.
=) Did you get it?Yes unfortunately i couldn’t answer due to some bs spam prevention. 7hours to be able to answer a pm….yeah right. Anyway i am german so i can’t speak english pretty well. May cause earcancer so i prefer not to join a voicechat.
If it makes you feel any better, I’ve helped many people who where in the same position as you are. It’s okay if you can’t speak english well, as long as you’re able to listen to me talk and explain on voice chat while understanding then it’s good enough. You can type to me in skype your questions too if you feel comfortable that way.
Just let me know if you’re interested cause I’m playing right now. =)

Also you can solo most group events, you just need to know the combat system in depth.
lol You know, I don’t mind helping you out in game.
This clearly is a Learn to play issue which I’d be glad to help you with.
Yes you can level up in PvP btw.
AngryJoe Interview - HoT Questions for Devs?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: DreamyAbaddon.3265
OMG I Love You AngryJoe!!!!!!!!!! <3
I can’t wait for your interview!
Any news regarding the return of SAB?
Will it be parmenent finally?
Please prepare yourself for some really noob questions, sorry.
I wanted to ask how do you access your profession skills? I played till level 8 and I have no idea how to use them. I’m a Charr Engineer, so I’m expecting to be able to pull out a turret and stuff, but how do I do it? I understand that there’s weapons skills, but are they different than the profession skill?
O_o ….. Turrets are unlocked as utility skills from Skill6,7,8,9,0
lol…
I needed this being a GW player that just recently got Gw2 I was totally lost and at level 12 questions were all I have… These answered a lot of them I had, thanks…
I’m glad it helped however this is an Outdated guide which I need to update due to the changes this game has gone through. I’ll update as soon as I get the time!
Enjoy the game! There is just a lot to do! =)
Bump!
Dreamy tried to help me, but has since been online and just left me in lions arch so I’ve created a new character and I just seem so lost!
I need someone to go through pretty much everything with me, especially like crafting professions, skills, stats, where to go, story lore, and things like WTF is karma? I know I can buy things with it but why?
Sorry guys, but this game is so much different than other MMO’s that I’ve played
Dude I’m so sorry!
I hope you’re NOT mad at me! =(
We didn’t have time to start and you had to log off so I assumed you knew how to use the Waypoint but that was probably stupid of me since I never explained.
I really want to teach you everything I know about the game and even level with you!
You have me on Skype so please call me when you see me online.
I may not be in game but if i’m online on Skype it means I’m available to play! =D
Cheers!
What you’re looking for is likely the Elementalist, which is a light armored equivalent of a Guardian. Elementalists are great for spreading boons amongst allies and auras too, and are very very tanky for a light class (if traited so). The downside is, you will often be despised in dungeons and fractals if built this way, because however we put it, your damage does suffer for it. Sadly (or luckily for some) GW2 focuses on all players going all-out in damage, and only add a little bit of support, since every man has to heal himself and keep himself alive.
That being said, an Elementalist is your best bet definitely.
Hope I helped, if you need any more help add me in-game!
Regards, oRx
I really despise the ‘’focus on all players going all-out damage’‘. It destroys variations of gameplay. Though this ain’t no news and it wont help with my arguing about it being a flawed system. Its just sad that it discourages players who prefer to play support roles instead of dps roles…
Though enough complaining about things I cannot change.
What is the focus on PvP then? Does support elementalist work in Spvp or WvW?
Problem is… I am aware that I CAN go full support, but as much as I want to play the role of a support, I don’t want to become useless. I want a reliable and effective support role… But i’m guessing that’s either not possible due to arena-net discouraging supporting or supporting is very limiting..
It really is a shame how it seems like everything is focused on the individual player instead of the groups of players!
GW2’s combat mechanics is about Damage/Control/Support.
Keep this in mind you need to contribute to the fight with Damage, while using Control skills and Supporting yourself when you must. These are not roles. They are combat mechanics which all classes rely on.
I made a guide which is a sticky on the forums that explains the mechanics and how to make builds, I recommend you check it out.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/GW2-Combat-system-101-Guide/first
This should pretty much get you started right.
